This was an educational cache for me as I had not seen a gas pumping station like this before. Very interesting. Tftc
Another cache found with richlink on our 2022 South Australian Adventure. We are enjoying our time travelling SA. Fantastic towns, ruins, beaches and cliffs. Thanks to all the COs for taking us on a geo-guided tour.
Looks like the brief warm weather had gone and rain ️ is in the way so we are out with iluvtrekking grabbing finds while we can remain dry. Thanks demon41
Found on a trip to Crystal Brook and Port Pirie with Team Waldron for a few days. It rained steadily for the morning but gradually eased by mid afternoon. The aim for the weekend was to find as many caches as possible in the area which we accomplished with damp clothes, soggy shoes and a muddy car. Thanks for the cache demon41!
Away for a few days with Featherwaite to clear up Kadina to Port Pirie.
We pretty much achieved our target barring a few dnfs.
Raining today but this was a quick find.

Well it’s 2021 and I have finally said good bye to a not so great 2020 and it was great to finally be able to have a reasonable holiday as I have not had a decent break since 2019.
Made to South Australia and finally crossing the boarder and then being greeted by a couple of very friendly SA police offices for which i had the official paper work to allow me to enter.
After making my way west along the Eyre Hwy I went as far as Penong and the Eyre Hwy which I have not travelled along since the late 70’s when I was on a holiday with my folks and this was the last holiday before I started full time work as a sparkie and finding a few caches as I go.
Geocaching when towing a van is not always easy and I have to be a bit selective on which ones I decide to try and find for safe parking purposes especially along busy highways.
So then it was down to the Eyre Peninsula to see the sites down there Venus Bay, Coffin Bay National Park and Lincoln National Park were some highlights and I will come back again to have a better look around.
So after nearly 2 weeks spent on the Eyre Peninsula it was time to start heading back to Victoria but another lockdown in Vic has just occurred so now to change my plans again.
So Port Germaine was my next target for the night.
Another morning spent driving in the rain as I have not had the best weather on this trip what ever happened to summer.
The rain has stopped and as I have rounded the the bay and heading back down south the weather is beautiful on this side of town.
I have finally reached my destination for the night which is Port Germein so time to set up.
Another nice day is beaconing so I did the pier walk early which in my mind I had walked half way to Whyalla by the time I got to the end.
So now to tackle some caches around the town then widen my search area.
Continuing along the scenic drive which is way nicer then the main Hwy route to head south.
Another dot on the map that you would not know about as tourists you would not normally take this road but caching takes us everywhere.
So this is the great T intersection of gas pipe lines from up north that feeds the heavy industry of the area.
Made a bit of a noise going in due to the long grass and very warm weather but I didn’t notice any wriggly sticks lucky enough.
After a bit of a search I soon spotted the cache, added my name to the log and on to the next one.
Thanks Ferret52 TFTC.

This weekend, I headed to Whyalla to catch up with a few other Geocachers and attempt some of the trails there. On Saturday, we targeted the FTF power trail from Whyalla to Iron Knob, and then spent the evening and the subsequent morning driving some of Whyalla's back tracks. On Sunday, I visited Cowleds Landing and back north, only to get severely bogged in one of Whyalla's clay pans. I then returned home via the August series.
Today, we started the day at a meet/greet breakfast event, and then I headed out with hevwalker and scramping for a few more geocaches south-west of Whyalla along the back tracks and main road, followed by the December trail series. I then continued south visiting Cowleds Landing and the proclaimed nudist beach. I next found *Potty Time*, only to realise that I had driven on the nearby clay pans, and then sank into the soft clay below on my way out. Eventually I had help in getting out, and finished my remaining time in Whyalla completing the pipeline August series, and calling into Whyalla Conservation Park for a few high favourite caches. I then made the long journey back to Adelaide stopping at a few miscellaneous geocaches along the way.
A kinda cool location, that I found the geocache description more interesting than the location. The geocache didn’t take long to find, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks demon41 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Hi there demon41. This cache was found on a day out caching and touring about Port Pirie. The container and log are in good condition - SL. Thanks to demon41 for this cache - our find # 6216.
Not easy spot the cache should be 1.5 instead of 1 as cut on my hand... ouch!.

Hi there demon41.
We found your cache **"Pipes & Pumps"** at 2:15:00 PM today. (This makes our find count 15984).
We cached around Gladstone, Port Pirie and Napperby today. On our trek we found a variety of container types. & ended up finding 32 caches with 0 DNF's.
Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

#6437 - 14:30; Day 6 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune and now albida33 who joined us this morning for the rest of the trip, so most logs were signed S.A.L. as a result. After a second night in Burra, we were now caching our way to Port Augusta via Spalding, Gulnare, Crystal Brook, Port Pirie, Napperby, Weeroona Island and Baroota. We had just finished our run through Port Pirie and were headed back to Scenic Drive when we stopped off for a quick find and sign on this cache. TFTC demon41

On the road to the Alice Springs Mega with LuckyL10n and Albida33. We headed through Burra and Port Pirie before arriving in Port Augusta for the trek up the highway. Collected a good number of caches and all were found with no issues and the logs were soon signed. (Some logs were signed as S.A.L. to save space.)
Thanks for the cache and fun in getting to it and finding it.

After overnighting in Port Pirie it is time to continue our journey northward to the Oz Mega Event in Alice Springs. But first we must place some more smiles on the map for this area.
We've done enough around town and it's now time to hit the road and head north. Can't be damned going up the main road so we are going to take these back roads.

I was, very generously, offered a trip to Whyalla with Moneydork that was too good to refuse!
Today was a working day so while Moneydork worked, I cached Whyalla and the FTF PT
Then after he'd finished work in Whyalla, it was off to Port Augusta for more work, then we finally headed home ...still caching of course! [^]
Sadly, today was a day of 7 DNFs although 58 finds were made and the last cache of the day for me was a FTF at Redhill
An interesting site of a night with bright lights.

We too, like the previous cachers , took some time searching, the wet and long soursob didn't help matters, but eventually we had the cache in hand. Thanks
Found by Mary & David at 1235. Left Pt Augusta this morning and cached our way south to Nuriootpa for the night. We do enjoy facts, figures and information. Wonderful views here. Took a while, as the soursob growth is enormous. Our thanks to demon41.

These are strange looking pipes that looks a little like meccanno gone wrong but for 40 million dollars we would hope that they knew what they were doing.
