gravel road and moped not a good mix but for an unloved cache, not found in over a year i had to do it, now i know why it's unloved, found the stump but no cache
An easy find, TFTC. Good to see an old logbook. My father cleared one of the blocks of land here between the road and the Momomoko many years ago: seems a shame now.
Our last day today and spreading our wings a bit. The weather played its part and a good number of finds was achieved. Thank you to all COs for placing and maintaining these caches.
Our last day in Southland before heading north again.
A trip to Bluff and some more local ones completed our caching in the area.
Thank you to all cache owners for placing your caches.

A nice quick find, though it was a bit buried in deep grass. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee drive to Invercargill and back. Today we cruised around Bluff and South Invercargill, in the rain to start with them overcast skies.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

An overnighter down Bluff for a 21st celebration event...happy birthday GC1AF
Wee detour out to Omaui before heading home. Had lots of watchful eyes here and very friendly coming right to the fence to see what I was up to
Funny that the moo right in front was number 21! Close enough I could have put a party hat on it. When I drove off they all came running to follow me. Couldn't see much around as it was very foggy TFTC

#10,466. My last day in Southland before flying back home to Wellington. Its been raining this morning but the rain has moved on from Bluff after I got here. I drove south to do the adventure lab and now decided to pick up a few caches down here before I head back to the city. This was one of them. Parked close by and wandered over to GZ. Lots of long wet grass. After getting nicely soaked feet I found the cache. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache where found. Thanks Popmac for hiding it here. Your old home is a long way from your current home!
26 October 2021 1:02 pm well and truly buried in the long grass but spotted eventually. TfTC Popmac (maintained by pipedream)
Down for a weeks work in Invercargill and with the day spent indoors needed some fresh air. S while there was still some light nipped down to Bluff and grabbed the lab cache and a few traditionals. A quick park and grab here and final of day as getting a bit dark on these gravel roads. Thanks for the cache.
*Found on a nice day going from cache to cache with woolwood9.*

I probably would not have driven along this road to locate these caches except they had been put in by a local P N cachers so i set off along the road and found all three with relative ease.
i was in invercargill for several days before moving on to Roxburgh and then the cycle trail there and finally heading to dunedin for a reunion so over these weeks i managed to locate quite a few caches
thank you B for these three caches down here

#18911. While we were dong the paper work a farmer drove up the road on the tractor, stopped next to us and looked at us expectantly (though didn't say anything). I figured he wanted to know what we were doing, so we told him, and he seemed happy with the explanation and left us to it. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on our first full day in and around Invercargill. With rain predicted for the next few days, we decided to concentrate on caches which needed walks.
Even though this cache had been found just a few months ago, the vegetation surrounding it had almost assimilated the container and it took a bit of excavating to find it! While we were doing the paper work, a farmer on tractor stopped, so we had to explain what we were up to. He seemed to be happy with our answer and carried on. TFTC.

Cache 47 nice little park and grab, side of road is quite wet so a little bit of wading may be required another lovely view. Have enjoyed these adventures today, log is a little damp. Rock bug added to cache T4TC
On the way to Omaui for a walk along the coast with the dogs thankyou for bringing us out this way! and tftc
Ten days off in a row for the price of two leave days, how fabulous! Packed up the whanau for an adventure and headed south. Our original plans were slightly thwarted by water, but we made the trip into an adventure tikitour with a few caches along the way. Signing the logs as Team Polak or TP for brevity. Great fun, thanks to all the CO’s for the entertainment!!
I dried the inside of the box. has trade goods. Took tb TKP89G, left gold pirate coin
Down to visit my brother and judge Dahlias at Bluff flower show. Had time for a maintenance check while down this way, all OK. Dropped of TB.
Quick stop here on the way out. Glad I didn't stop on the way in or I would have been in trouble. Big ruts on that side, and after today's rain they are boggy!
Thanks for the smilie.

After a few days of very intense work activities, I had one last full day free in Invercargill before I head back home to Nelson tomorrow. I headed off early for a full day out caching to see how many caches I could find. The weather was threatening but apart from a cold wind and occasional drizzle it really wasn't too bad. Parked next to the reserve sign and wandered over to the cache. All good here. TFTC, Biggles.
Day 6 of our south of south NZ caching blitz, having returned from stewart island, mr and mrs chosen1978 are back on the job of escorting around the local area. Traversing the country lanes, lovely countryside. Tftc
Made a quick detour on our way back from Bluff to look for the ones out toward Omaui. This was a quick find on the way. The sign indicates hunted allowed, but not too sure what would be hunted in the reserve as the bush seems quite thick... TFTC
I had a free transfer-a-car booked from Queenstown to Christchurch, so obviously I decided to head back to Christchurch via Invercargil to get a few "must have" caches. Teamed up with mrdan01 for this trip.
At the CO is my father-in-law I would have been in the "bad books" if I didn't locate this cache while in the area today. Initially was looking on the wrong side of the road, but eventually made the find.
Thanks for the cache.

Day one of a weekend road trip with 2wombles. He had booked a free rental car between Queenstown and Christchurch, and was nice enough to invite me along for the ride! Naturally we decided to take the scenic route - via Invercargill and Dunedin, but unfortunately, we had to cut out the Catlins due to a flight delay at the start of the trip. I really enjoyed getting out to this part of our country that I don’t get to see very often, and there were plenty of laughs along the way too! TFTC (3506)
Last stop on the road before tea in Bluff. Found the wee box in hide and SL. Always wondered about the sign across the road and took a leap of the ditch to seek out any tracks. Looks a bit over grown and au natural. Will take a wander on another day and see where it ends up. tftc
I was trying to remember how long it would've been since I last visited Omaui while driving down to this cache. It has to be at least 40 years so its really neat to be back. I honestly thought this one was missing but something had completely covered it in a pile of dirt and I had to dig real deep through that to get it it. TFTC #9989
Its day 14 of our journey with another week to get home. With Rakiura Walkway, my objective bagged, its around Invercargill today. Heading back towards Bluff first.
The day is turning out fine. Another one snagged and tagged on our way past. Cheers

Today we made a trip to Stewart and Ulva Island. We had a great time on the islands and spotted a lot of different birds. On the islands and on our way back to Invercargill, we searched for some caches on the way and explored nice tracks and locations because of these caches are hidden at these places!
Thanks to all cache owners for hiding and maintaining these caches.

Thought I knew where this one would be but . . . no . . . Aoraki found it. Apparently she had followed the GPS!
Co-ords spot on . . . . that is for those of us that follow the GPS. Found with debsnz
A quick easy find as we travelled along this road on which we recall many years ago losing a bolt which connected the back of the car body to the back axle, leaving it swaying eerily. We were able to make a temporary repair, and miraculously found the bolt on the way back out. TFTC
A visit on a free morning before lunch. Found exposed and open. Mopped out con and replaced bank bag, they have a big hole in them. Log coping with the damp. Reacquired hide.
On a visit down south to get the remaining caches that I need for GC31PYY. Managing to grab a few others while on my mission but not enough time to get many. Will have to make another visit or two over the next few years.
