Day 2 of our 5day trip to Coober Pedy. This is a fun trip for SA Sewer Rats and ttrogg. We quick located the cache.Stamped the log and replaced as found.Tftc
Day two of the road trip to Coober PedyGot away quite early, for me, from Port Augusta but due to a slight fuelling mistake only found three caches before fuelling at Pimba then checking in at Woomera. Got up to Andamooka for the AdLab there and all the nearby physical caches before heading back to Woomera for the two AdLabs there. A nice number of mainly traditionals were found on the way and this was one of the ones I wanted.Score this one to the Rat.Thanks to funkymunkyzone for adding to the playing field with this cache.Smilie #15118.*This log composed and published using GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife).*
A quick find in the belly, glad he was not alive. Stamped log and replaced. Thanks to CO for bringing us here.
TFTC,Couldn't visit Roxby Downs without extending your visit. This town and the Adventure Lab cache makes our trip special. In this LGA for a day to Cache and add to my statistics, visited trackables.
This is such a cool town, not like in the flies, but Im loving being here and I had a great day and a great burger for lunch
Found on a day trip from Woomera camp. Almost a drive by Added another log sheet TFTC

Im in SA for a work trip and decided to grab a couple while out and about. Travelling between Adelaide, Woomera, port Augusta and Roxby Downs. Plenty to see. Ill be back next year for the Great Leap Forward event. Looking forward to that. After the nearby labs, wandered up for this quick find. CouldThe next finder bring a log book? Just a scrap of paper inther at the moment. Many thanks to funkymunkyzone for placing and maintaining Andamooka Opal (Andamooka, SA). I found it, I signed it, and put it back as found.
This was my first visit to Andamooka in more than 26 years, and Mrs J's first visit ever. Her grandfather came out here in the late 70's, and did manage to come home with some opal. For me, the town seemed a bit of a shadow of it's former self. The beloved Opal hotel is completely gone, and it looks like Steve's Tuckabox is no longer open. The car used in Mad Max is no longer on display which was dissapointing. And the bitumen through the main street! I really miss the old rough creek bed that the main street used to be.The cache was a nice quick find at another old landmark that now appears closed. Thanks funkymunkyzone.
Got it! Thanks for giving us something to fonafter a MASSIVE LUNCH at the hall
the coast to NT and down through the Centre to SA and back home over the Nullabor. After spending a couple of nights in Coober Pedy, we headed twds Woomera picking hides along the route and arrived at RD last night. Headed out to Andamooka and made a quick find here.
Travelling with richlink from Perth to Darwin up along the west coast and home again through the centre and the Nullarbor, picking up caches along the way. On a discovery trip to Andmooka, we made a quick find here.TFTC funkymonkeyzone.
A morning leg-stretch in a very authentic frontier town. Some of the muddiest mud I've ever seen but a VERY cool graveyard. For those who enjoy such things. Quickly located. TNLN-TFTC! Replaced with care.

We are travelling from SA to NT and around the WA coast back to SA. Along the way geocaching is taking us to some amazing places.
Apologies for the late log as we are travelling to some quite remote places we are a bit behind.
We loved our visit to Andamooka, it is a very interesting place.

On our travels we stopped to grab this cache, it took longer than it should have but soon we had the prize in hand, log signed and cache placed back, tftc
Found by Oscar 6yrs. Left a new sheet of notepaper and swapped an item. Thanks for hiding this!
Staying at my son's in Roxby, decided to do some caching, and ended up here with Loopy1972 in tow. Thought the cache guardian was fake, till it moved. Lol. TFTC.
We decided to load up the camper and run away from home for a week or two. The rain and a domestic water repair made us change our plans a few times but it didn't detract from the fun. We met quite a few people and learnt a lot from them - we were privileged to be shown a dugout at Coober Pedy and station life at Edeowie. We also found time to find a few caches, but we still have many unfound in the areas visited. Looking forward to returning to the upper north of South Australia one day soon.
Thank you to all those who helped make our trip very enjoyable.

Found while exploring Andamooka with a muggle friend. TNLN. I've done the two in town, thought there might be more but I guess everyone is busy searching for rocks lol.
On our way to Alice Springs via the back roads.
It was a bit of a culture shock coming into Andamooka. Loved the display of miners houses on the main road.
Thanks for the cache funkymunkyzone.

Staying in Roxby for a few days on business we drove out to Andamooka. I first visited circa 1961 and it has hardly changed a bit.
Maybe that is a bit harsh as there are some newer buildings but it does seem to be regressing somewhat.
Ground zero is a classic example of what was somebodies dream.
Cache was found and signed and in good condition.

This is the sixth time I have visited this town over the years. And this time it looks like a ghost town. There was no one around. None. Zero. Nada. Maybe when the pandemic is over and the tourists return the town will take off again.
Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age.

Out in the never never with Purrfect Di and Jack...
It's been a long while since I visited Andamooka. I remember the beer bottle building.
Last century in fact was my last trip here, and there certainly wasn't a bitumen road
The place seems quieter now. I guess without the touristy trade it's back to opal basics.
I could imagine this being quite the busy place sometimes.
The slytherin soon revealed the required cache and log book!
Thank you funkymunkyzone for another nice yellow smiley on a remote part of our state geomap
"A cache a day keeps the doctor away" - all part of my 2021 health care plan

2020 won. it's not over yet!
- - search at a social distance wherever you can - -
Keep away from the nasty bugs ( except travel bugs of course )
- keep a distance from people as much as you can, they spread the nasty bugs! [:o)]
- go out and find or place some new caches in our regional areas where it's safer away from bugs!!

Mrs Bee walked
She laughed at some of the historic shops that lined the street and felt she had been transported back 50years. Then she saw a long bus and bam she’d signed and returned the cache.

Hot tip for Optus customers. Download location info when you have internet access prior to hitting remote country towns. Thankfully another cacher with Telstra was in town at the same time. Legend.
Hot tip for Optus customers. Save cache details prior to hitting remote country towns with sketchy phone reception/internet. Thankfully we ran into OLGA1300 again, after crossing paths in Roxby yesterday, who was with Telstra.
This bus has been here as long as I remember. I'm glad there are no skeletons at the bus stop.
Thanks to funkymunkyzone and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [^]
Nice easy one just around the corner from cabin. If you need accommodation see the post office

What an interesting little Aussie town - a bit down on its luck by the looks of it - but local community volunteers were running a cafe in the hall - fresh food and a nice outdoor eating area too - anyway all fed and we walked across the road, looked at the historic cottages then around the corner to get the cache. Left a lucky Chinese Feng Shui coin. TFTC 2BluFish
Today was our first full day staying in Andamooka so we started the day finding a couple of caches here before heading to Olympic Dam and Roxby Downs. [^]
This was the first but it is a pity that the bus is now run down and not used any more.
The cache was found right where the hint said it would be.
Thanks for the cache funkymunkyzone.

@Davidwazza and I travelled to the Northern Territory from Adelaide for a 2.5 weeks road trip holiday in the infamous black jeep. We took a route through Port Augusta, Woomera, Roxby Downs, Andamooka, and then drove the Oodnadatta Track via Coward Springs, William Creek (including a Lake Eyre scenic flight), Oodnadatta, and Marla. It was then onwards to visit Uluru (Ayers Rock), Kata Tju?a (Olgas), Kings Canyon, and then drove the Red Centre Way aka. Mereenie Loop Road to see the Tjoritja (West MacDonell Ranges), calling in to see the various highlights. We then stayed a few nights in Alice Springs, and included a day trip to see the East MacDonell Ranges, before heading home in a more direct route through Palm Valley, Owen Springs Reserve, Henbury Craters, and the Lambert Centre of Australia, and finally Coober Pedy.
Today, we continued our trip, completing some caches around Roxby Downs and visiting Andamooka before heading up past Olympic Dam, and the joining the Oodnadatta track. Making a few stops along the way we set up camp in Coward Springs, of course enjoying the natural springs!
Neat hide, TFTC!

It was then time to turn around to head to South Australia, and in doing so, we visited the Palm Valley, and made the 4WD detour through Owen Springs Reserve (an excellent shortcut that wasn’t too technically difficult), calling into the Henbury Craters, and the Lambert Centre of Australia. Our final stop was Coober Pedy, and we really enjoyed checking out the various dugouts and mines.
Today, we continued our outback trip travelling from Roxby Downs to Coward Springs. We started off the day with a breakfast event, and then after checking out the visitor’s centre, headed to Andamooka to see some interesting opal sights, glass bottle house, and old mining pub. From there, we briefly saw Olympic Dam, before heading north to join the Oodnadatta Track. We visited Lake Eyre South, some ruins and the old Ghan’s bridges, and a few mound springs.
I guess this geocache was the main one within Andamooka town itself. Once at GZ, it didn't take long to find, with the cache container and logbook in good shape today. Thanks funkymunkyzone for placing the cache and its ongoing maintenance.

Thanks for a great walk from our camping site into town. Loved looking through the old cottages too.
