Awesome to finally get this. Have driven past heaps of times.Off to Bungonia today for the Chill the Grill event and picking a few up on the area. Thanks for getting me out and about The Turriffs
#13394 17:20After a lunch at Marulan it was time to head back to Sydney but not without taking a detour for just a few more caches. This was a quick find with our team of 6. Signed as BIMME4TFTC
Great day out with caching team. Enjoyed the backroads, however the Hume Highway was super busy making it difficult to cross and enter. TFTC
A fun day out with friends caching and hiking. Not often that I get to spend whole day out, and driven around to enjoy the views. Lovely quite day here at GZ today but the highway was extremely busy and fast going. Quick find and return. TFTC The_Turriffs.
TFTC - nice spot to walk the dogs on my way to Crookwell. Cache in great condition.
I was looking for a way to entertain the kids today. I have been struggling with a bit of fatigue, and today was the first day I felt like I had some energy. I decided it was perfect weather for a day trip in the car, with a couple of caches along the way. As I needed to find some letterbox caches to complete a challenge, we headed to this area.
The geokids and I enjoyed the quick walk to GZ. We checked out the local scenery, and we talked about the area as we wandered along. At GZ, it was a quick find by all 3 of us. We retrieved the cache, signed the log, and put everything back as we had found it.
This is the first cache we have done in a long time that my daughter didn't get upset and demand to return to the car. She actually enjoyed it and was keen to move on to the next one. Happy days!
TFTC and the adventure.

Lunchtime caching. My favourite.
We headed into the flooded eastern states for a week of geocaching fun. The mission was Frying Pan. The only December 2000 placed cache remaining in Australia. All other choices for this month are international. Traveling in style and comfort we selected the next cache on merit and forward movement. Some back tracking was required in the wettest areas. Wildlife seen included a lyre bird, king parrot and a single leech. Mozzies were a pest. Caches were found and signed. Wet logs were wet. Water does that. Numerous TOTTs were employed.
Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.
Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke für den Cache. Gracias por el caché. Bedankt voor de cache. Kiitos kätköstä. Zikomo posungira. Terima kasih untuk cache. Hvala cache. Köszönöm a cache. Nga mihi mo te keteroki. Dankie vir die kas.

Found on a trip from Adelaide to NSW and back with Freddo.
Our main target was ‘Frying Pan’ in the Chichester State Forest, near Barrington Tops north of Newcastle.
We allowed ourselves a week to travel there and back, taking a circuitous route through Victoria and NSW, camping each night and finding a range of caches of interest along the way.
Rains over the past few months meant a few detours along the way and plenty of water about, restricting access to some caches and camping areas. Many of the roads were quite chopped up with potholes and the mosquitoes were plentiful! But we had a good run with the weather, with just the odd shower, but mostly fine, warm and overcast.
Thanks The Turriffs for the cache.

We are travelling down from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to Canberra for a 6 day (5 night) holiday, staying in a park cabin at Alivio Tourist Park in O'Connor, and planning to explore the areas around Lake Burley Griffin, old & new Parliament House’s, the Australian War Memorial, Questacon, the Carillion, Black Mountain, Mount Ainslie, and areas around Canberra Airport and maybe out around the Kowen Forest if time permits. Have solved most of the CBR Wherigo Puzzle series and numerous other Mystery/Puzzle caches, so will hopefully get to some of those, and will do some of the Adventure Labs, Virtuals, and EarthCaches in the areas we visit. Photos will be uploaded to logs after our return to home base. This was the 6th of 23 finds for the day (day 1), and 6th find of the holiday.
Continued along the old highway to this one. Dashed the 100 odd metres along the fence line to GZ for a nice quick find. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. TFTC The Turriffs.

Easy find with Mango Parade and Sinistral on the way to out to Victoria!!
So cool on my way to Victoria first time ever trying this new hidden society trend, I’m all about that new adventure definitely looking forward to another geocache xoxo gossip girl ️
This was on my way to the Wangaratta MEGA event, it is a slow drive down as I was stopping off at many of the unusual and interesting places. My trip down south is mostly centered on the older caches and ones for challenges or d/t grids, but I was also stopping at a few as I passed by.
Now for the mind numbing exercise of logging all my finds.
I am sorry to say that I do not remember all the caches of the trip (there is a lot). Luckily, I have Cachly to help me out.
This was an easy find and it was one I did on my way to the challenge caches around this area. I signed the log and replaced all as found and then moved onto the next one in the area. Thanks for the hide.

With GreyHams we set off for an solid day of caching at a respectably early hour. Starting off local with a number of ladder climbs well overdue for finds and then off down the hwy for a series of challenge caches, puzzles and a few others as we passed. The virtual near Tallong was an unexpected delight, what an amazing location and an absolute highlight!
Flooding and closed creek crossings had a slight change to the route a few times but worked in our favour so no problems navigating it out. A bit of a cold grey day best for a day of caches like the ones we had targeted and as always an enjoyable day! Caches all found in good condition, on or close enough to the coordinates for easy finds, thanks for the cache!
Cool location down this old road, great this cache is here to highlight it.

Found the same pen as mentioned earlier, I think the last find was just tick a box and the cache has disappeared
Found a pen a few meters away. Wondering if in recent heavy rains it was washed away.
We stretched our legs on the old road to sniff this out, and got back to the car just as the rain started again. TftC.
Found with Ella_June on our southern trip.
Fortunately no nasties in the hide.
Thanks The Turriffs

Who would have thought this skinny strip of concrete was once the main highway. The reference to the hide confused me a little but was plainly obvious once there!
This was Find #14 on 10 Aug. Attended an event in Marulan but there's always time to get some caches before/afterwards TFTC.
After finding the other nearby caches, I made one more stop before hitting the highway again. A quick find, all in good order here. Thanks The Turriffs.
Wow - a great little cluster of caches in this section of the old highway that once upon a time we ventured north along. Down memory lane for sure. TFTC
On my way home from doing some caches in the Penrose area. A quick and easy find, thanks The Turriffs.

We're on the road on Good Friday headed to the ACT and the Clear Waters Mega.... *big mistake* - the Good Friday bit! In between very heavy traffic and 3 accidents we spent most of our time from Campbelltown to Berrima at least in stop/start traffic, mostly stopped..... Once things got moving we got through our list of rest stop hides along the way, bagging 11 for the day.
Our (failing?) Garmin Oregon sent us on a bit of an adventure for this one. We parked and set off, with apparently 180m to go - no probs.... so a creek crossing with a fallen tree later, and crossing a barbed wire fence later, we were in dodgy territory. Consulting Cachly with the iphone put us way back where we had just walked, and found the cache in seconds. Crossing the creek on the fallen tree was fun, but not needed.... Thanks!

Great little spot, found with Cached Up Mummies, left mermaid and Gold Poker Chip
Headed home from a weekend exploring the blue mountains with Genghicat. This will probably be the last of the day considering it's raining. As Genghicat keeps the motor warm I jumped out with my trusty umbrella and quickly located the cache. Left a tb hoping to make its way to Tassie. On the side of the highway I can see a group of cyclists huddled together. Not something to do in this weather. Cache is in good condition. Tftc
Headed out of Canberra for a summer break with Touchstone7 and, of course, a few caches needed to be had. This was one of them.

We enjoyed the short break out of the highway traffic although the noise was ever present. It was a nice walk under the trees to the hide using the clue we spotted the cache cover and soon had the cache in hand. We used our walking poles to extract the container as we couldn't see what might have been sharing the space.
Thanks for this cache Turriffs it is a nice area to take a break when travelling through this area. Container and contents were in good condition.

Today I'm making a quick trip to Canberra and stopped along the way for some caches. This was my second stop.
Fortunately I could see the Goulburn sign a long way off as there was quite a lot of traffic in this area. That meant it was a really noisy place to stop, shame really as its a pleasant view.
The short walk along to GZ got the blood circulating again.
There are a few really nasty stinging plants beginning to grow close to GZ. So it was a careful search for the cache which I soon spotted and extracted carefully.

A day trip with The Matetrix to Kiama for a family get together. A little cool and overcast to start, but the skies cleared and it warmed up nicely. Just one of many finds for the day. TNLNSL TFTC
On my way back home decided to stop off and get this cache & sign the log

Heading home from camping and backpacking in Belanglo Forest with the Ridgeo-pup.
As I approached GZ I thought if the cache isn't in there - it should be!
And sure enough...
Thanks for the cache, The Turriffs

Heading back down the Hume again to Geelong and this guy looked like it needed to be changed into a smiley face so pulled off into this peaceful little spot.
A short wander anong the old road and there was the prize that I was looking for.
Thanks to The Turriffs for showing me this location that I have just driven past many times and did not know it was there.

Picking up a few caches while travelling south to Victoria.
Strange how the concrete just suddenly stops. Saw the old culvert under our feet half way there, so guess the road did continue along here at some stage. Love these bits of old road.
Log signed & replaced again. Found at 2.00pm on 14th November 2017. TFTC. The Turriffs

I was about to pull in to the first parking spot, but bikerbuddy told me to keep driving. When I finally parked, millimetres away from the cement barriers, I realised we still had to walk a little way. Pleasant little walk, for a quick find.
Left a trackable here.
Thanks

We pulled off the highway, turned right into the rest area and then drove as far as we could and stopped before the barricades to the old road. It was a pleasant walk up to the cache and an easy find once there. We took a look at the rest area before we left. It would be a great emergency area to camp on a long drive. Thanks
The hiding spot was both obvious and a good one. No danger of this one getting waterlogged. TFTC
Wooooooo! Find #3438
Wow interesting how this rest area is unmarked and forgotten about. Luckily it only consists of a few picnic tables, wouldn't want to see the condition of the forgotten toilets if it had any!
A quick walk and a nice find
