Day three riding the Great Taste Trail from Baton River Valley to Kaiteriteri. We had taken the wrong turnoff and ended up at this cache. The cache was quickly found in an obvious spot. Thanks for the cache and smilie
Located with RNZ
Final one for the day for us, a lovely trip down memory lane this drive. I spent many hours as a child up the Ngatimoti Valley
A nice relaxing Sunday drive out to the Motueka market & then up the Brooklyn Valley & West Bank Road, with lunch at the Upper Moutere Pub to finish.

Final one for the day for us, this was a quick find for me while RG72 manoeuvred the car to the correct direction. TFTC Isis, no issues here.
It was a nice day today so we went for a drive out to Motueka to visit the market. That was good, then we had a cruisy drive home down back roads with a few stops for caches and the Upper Moutere Pub. Nice day, a few roads I had never been down before.

Sent my kids out to search as we live close by. They spent 20 minutes searching for it before they found it. They had a great time. Thank you very much and good luck to next treasure hunters!
Thanks so much SJT_NZ and Tregearp - that will save me a trip. All good to go again
Out with TravellingFar and SJT_NZ exploring Pokororo. A short visit given the rain about but fun to explore. A busy little road on election day it seems. Thanks Isis58 for the cache.
After discussion with the CO last week Tregearp and I offered to do some community maintenance as we'd selected the local hall just down the road as our venue of choice to vote this election. The cache was missing so we replaced it with a small pill bottle in the obvious spot as per the clue. Thanks Isis58 for setting up this location.
Second attempt here, still eluding me. And the eyes of the dragon lost out too. But as the last log says it is in pretty crappy condition, it sounds like it would not have been a nice find. I' happy to log a DNF here.
Found, but not hidden and the little plastic bag was in a very, very bad and dirty condition. Have logged with 17, it has to be 16 of match. Still it is a very beautiful place.
Gevonden máár super smerig. Blíjft een prachtig plekje.

Took me a while here as I saw it had been recently checked. The only camo stone was hiding nothing so checked all likely concealing sots. Returned to the obvious and found it uncovered. Added my name and put the stone on top, T F T C Isis58.
Have been perusing my 'local' map and looking for clusters of caches for me to drive out to and making a day trip of (without the dangers of big drops/mountainous terrain/weather-vulnerable) and the area either side of the Motueka river looked a likely target area. I've not been any further than Tapawera on this side road and also not fully explored the back road of Motueka. So I sat right down and wrote myself a . . . . cache list. Target caches totalled over 40 and I was keen to get as many of those as I could. The final total was 37 finds, 3 DNFs and one tree climbing not attempted, or stopped for. My cache find total bumandworker went up again, and my Sidewaze totals are pushing towards third place in my all-time list of COs. A great day out and such beautiful Autumn scenery that the camera cannot truly convey. Scouted out some decent looking trout fishing spots too. Thanks to all COs for their placements. Individual logs at the start of the listing.

Coordinates changed from:
S 41° 11.885 E 172° 51.872
Coordinates changed to:
S 41° 11.890 E 172° 51.876
Distance from original: 35.8 feet or 10.9 meters.
Out on a maintenance run up the Motueka Valley today. Replaced missing cache. Coordinates read 12 metres out today - took another few readings but the phone and GPS had quite a difference between them. Hopefully these updated coordinates are closer.

NO find here. Later I saw a recent log saying the coordinates are a bit out, so maybe I didn't search far enough away.
Yes of course we had to do it cant leave one this close !! Another quick find and off we go to do a little string along here and enjoying the sunshine. TFTC
Heading up this road to follow a few caches that have been put out in the years since we have been up here last A small search then Stretch0 had the cache in hand - signed log waited for a couple of cars to go past - returned cache another found to add to our list for this week - Thanks for the cache
Nine days to do some caching for the price of four leave days - who could complain about that! I found a quirky place to stay near Motueka, ad decided to base myself there to cache in the wider area. I had a few on my hit list, and ended up finding a great variety of different caches on the trip.
Day five - I was going to do a nice walk, and a few caches on the way. Great day for it, not too hot but dry. TFTC!!

This time there was some traffic passing by before I was able to circle around and locate the cache. Nice to get out of the sun for awhile. Tftc
Geo cycling the GTT over 3 days, picking up caches on the way. Day 2, motueka to tapawera. My GPS was well off on this, led me to a natural item before I read some early logs and realised my error. Was then a quick find and back on the bike
Looked at the wrong place in the beginning (reading older logs helped). When I found the little one some spiders were taking good care of it
TFTC!

Another drive through the Lewis Pass between Takaka and Christchurch, this time heading back south after a short trip home to spend time with family. The plan for today was to knock over a whole lot of caches in the northern end of the drive. I was also pleased to be able to get a smiley for a few caches that have left me stumped previously. Started off a sunny day, looked to be great for driving, but the rain started somewhere north of Springs Junction and didn't end up stopping. TFTC (3264)
Out on a maintenance run today so called by here to replace the tin container with a plastic pill bottle.
Had a bit of trouble getting the lid off but eventually got log signed and back to the primo drive.

We have had trouble here before but decided to have another go on our way passed. Our GPS took us to the tree again but this time we had a little knowledge and followed our caching instincts for a swift find. Container a bit stiff but eventually got there. Thanks for the cache Isis58.
Not where I initially thought it would be but found nonetheless, nice day out and boy are there some people at the river! TFTC
Couldn't get this one today as the grass has been cut and all the clippings tipped over the tree. Found a likely spot with stone but no cache. We will be back another day.
We have been staying nearby with family and on a run down the road I found this cache. Couldn't open the tin. What a stunning place this is!
Today we did the big loop through Tapawera up to Motueka and then back to Nelson. A quick find. The container was a little hard to open. Instead of breaking a nail we used something from the picnic hamper in the car. Thanks for the cache
#9946. As we pulled up two lads approached on foot and started playing in the creek, so we had to search discretely. Nice hide. TFTC.
We wondered if we would have to abandon this cache as two boys ran towards us after we parked, but they were heading to the river and seemed to be engrossed with whatever they were doing there, so we quickly decoded the hint and got stuck in. GPSr lead us astray, but when we followed our geosense rather than the needle, it didn't take long for StreetWalker to find the cache. TFTC.
It didn't take long to find the cache, as although the coordinates seemed a bit out, it was in the logical place. However it is very rusty, and we required a tool to open it. We tried to rub off some of the rust to make it easier for the next person. TFTC
Holidaying at the top of the South Island with tmann421. Many thanks to all the CO's for making this a memorable trip.
Nice find here.

Just as I was pulling over a woman on a bicycle waves out to me and calls "Hi John". Then she apologised. Apparently John has the same car
After she had cycled on by I made a quick find but not so quick sign. Luckily my tool box was still in the boot as a screw driver was required to lift the lid.
Very grateful for my first find of the day after two dnf's and an "unable to search to due to muggles".

Up in Nelson again, visiting my parents. My mission for the day was to collect some information at the Gridiron Shelter for a Christchurch Multi. Mission accomplished. Stopped here on the way back 'home'. Easily found. Left TB. TFTC.

Started to rain again as we pulled up. I hopped out of the car for a quick find and took it back for Sir Belac to sign and stay dry. TFTC

Out for a lunchtime drive today and decided to come out in this direction to find the Pokororo caches. I found this one second and then headed home. My GPS led me off towards a different feature but with no cache found there I went back to the more obvious hiding place and there was the cache. Having quickly found the cache there, it took me ages to get the lid off. Seems to be well stuck on. Perhaps rusting a bit? TFTC, Biggles.
This is not the way to find a Motueka Valley cache. A nice Sunday drive is how they should be found. Certainly not in the dark with rain threatening and as Plan C to fill one more streak day. But after striking out on two other attempts today I was grateful of the straight forward find here.
Thanks Isis58 for the cache.

A revisit for us and this time the cache was there. There was quite a bit of moisture in the container which we emptied out but the log was dry in it's double bag. It's always a pleasure to drive through this valley so thank you for placing a cache here.
A great clear and crisp day and a drive up country was decided upon. Prerequisite was that some "en route" caches needed to be hunted down. A DNF needed to be remedied and so it was. The excuse to navigate through the tree tunnels (Haycock's Bush) heading toward Tapawera deserves a fav. TFTC
Love this drive, frost still around and the drive through the umbrella of tree amazing. Quick find. TFTC
Oddly enough we did not expect this cache to be as close to the brother or sister cache. Not sure why not. Both of us circled the area following the GPS and phone - then SoBad spotted the right spot. Took longer to open the lid but that should keep the contents dry.
Thanks for the extra excuse for a mother's day drive in the country.

Out for the third drive up this lovely valley in five weeks. More autumn colours today. Yes the cache was gone. The grass has been recently cut so I wonder if the person mowing them removed it. Replaced in a slightly different spot.
Sadly, the seemingly obvious spot for this cache was empty. Will watch this one with interest.
Oh dear this should've been really easy so it sounds as if it's missing. That didn't last long!
Yaaayyy FTF . What a picturesque spot, very peaceful this morning. Watched a hawk take a dip in the stream. - - Maybe it was after something. TFTC .
AS you say ...lovely spot. Resisted temptation to really big diversion to Tap.
That church very familiar with, but hopefully not back that way for a while...but never know!
Thanks Isis58 for placing this one
