Logs
I've passed this cache many times, but with TARV2014 having logged it yonks ago we always seemed to be in too much of a rush to stop. Today with a souvenir on offer, it was a good stop on a loop up the Mot River and back via Orinoco - Thorpe Valley Rd. The cache was visible on approach, but otherwise all in good order. Replaced and arranged the stoned for better cover. Thanks IsisNZ for the cache.

A lovely trip down memory lane this drive. I spent many hours as a child up the Ngatimoti Valley
A nice relaxing Sunday drive out to the Motueka market & then up the Brooklyn Valley & West Bank Road, with lunch at the Upper Moutere Pub to finish.

First time down this road, so it took a while to get around to these. Nice quick find here, TFTC Isis.
It was a nice day today so we went for a drive out to Motueka to visit the market. That was good, then we had a cruisy drive home down back roads with a few stops for caches and the Upper Moutere Pub. Nice day, a few roads I had never been down before.

We'd been down here planning to tackle these caches on election day with family but walking and a scrummage in the bush was not quite what family was keen on given it was a bit wet. Today with time to enjoy the valley headed down the west side and was intending on driving back up the east. This was a quick find and all nice and dry, thanks Isis58 all in good order.
Ah! Of course it has to be hiding there! Thanks Isis58, your cache is in good condition.
A bit quicker here but G P S was playing up so had to wait ages for a settled reading. Found under the heart shaped rock, nice one Isis58.
Have been perusing my 'local' map and looking for clusters of caches for me to drive out to and making a day trip of (without the dangers of big drops/mountainous terrain/weather-vulnerable) and the area either side of the Motueka river looked a likely target area. I've not been any further than Tapawera on this side road and also not fully explored the back road of Motueka. So I sat right down and wrote myself a . . . . cache list. Target caches totalled over 40 and I was keen to get as many of those as I could. The final total was 37 finds, 3 DNFs and one tree climbing not attempted, or stopped for. My cache find total bumandworker went up again, and my Sidewaze totals are pushing towards third place in my all-time list of COs. A great day out and such beautiful Autumn scenery that the camera cannot truly convey. Scouted out some decent looking trout fishing spots too. Thanks to all COs for their placements. Individual logs at the start of the listing.

Out on a maintenance run up the Motueka Valley today. Replaced the ripped plastic bag.
A nice easy find here (after not finding at Little Pokororo). It's raining, so a nice easy find is... well... nice.
---
Off to Motueka to drop a bike back into Dad's place. New handle bar grips, brakes fixed, new rear bearings, crank bearings fixed - about the only thing that worked correctly was the gearing. Anyway, all good now, back home it goes. Stopped off here along the way.

For the first time in about 9 years living in this area made it to the Ngatimoti School Fair. We were really impressed at the size of it and how well run. When we went to leave the roads were packed so looked across the river and decided be a lot quieter on that side. Now on this side we thought lets grab a few caches so off we went. Been a long time since we cached this road. A quick find and sign before heading off to find another. TFTC
After leaving the Ngatimoti Festival we decided to head acoss the penisular bridge to see if the road was quiet enough to do a little caching - we haven't been out this way for years - besides which I wanted to find and do the swing bridge out here - now done and ticked off my to do list Still a few cars around but managed to grab and sign the log - then a car pulled up and asked directions to the festival cache returned after directions where given Thanks for the cache
Nine days to do some caching for the price of four leave days - who could complain about that! I found a quirky place to stay near Motueka, ad decided to base myself there to cache in the wider area. I had a few on my hit list, and ended up finding a great variety of different caches on the trip.
Day five - I was going to do a nice walk, and a few caches on the way. Great day for it, not too hot but dry. TFTC!!

Geo cycling the GTT over 3 days, picking up caches on the way. Day 2, motueka to tapawera. Was a longish ride from the previous cache, so I was pleased for the break. Quick find from the clear clue. Very pretty little river
This little one had to wait quite some time since the last find!

Another drive through the Lewis Pass between Takaka and Christchurch, this time heading back south after a short trip home to spend time with family. The plan for today was to knock over a whole lot of caches in the northern end of the drive. I was also pleased to be able to get a smiley for a few caches that have left me stumped previously. Started off a sunny day, looked to be great for driving, but the rain started somewhere north of Springs Junction and didn't end up stopping. TFTC (3263)
spotted this one as soon as we pulled up, so as soon as clear of traffic made a quick grab.
Was hunting up the big Puk today without any luck so decided to hunt a few caches on my way home TFTC
TFTC. Because I havent got a pen I take a photo of logbook. If you neee it a send to you. Thank you!
When we got to GZ today the log was under the stone but no container or even a plastic bag. Maybe somebody wanted it for bait ! We whizzed over to Sidewaze house and got a container from her to fix this one up. All is now in tip top condition.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Found this quickly. On a run so no pen but have photo of log. Love this area!! Tftc
Today we did the big loop through Tapawera up to Motueka and then back to Nelson. A very quick find in the obvious spot, we could see it from the caras we pulled up on the other side of the road. Thanks for the cache
We passed a couple of cyclists as we approached Big Pokororo, and we could see them approaching just after StreetWalker found the cache. I walked over to the bridge, pretending to admire the river so we didn't look so suspicious parked by the side of the road. My ruse didn't work, as one of the cyclists rumbled us as she cycled past and asked if we were geocaching . Turned out she had already found this cache herself. TFTC.
I enjoy these quick park and grabs when its getting on in the afternoon during winter.Cheers
A good hide and another nice find for Just-Lookin & I on a south island trip.

For some reason I wasn't expecting a "BIG". Made the quick find and on my way.
Previously languishing in 7th place. That brings me up to 4th! Must head out for a mission near Nelson Lakes next month to get back up on the podium It's not about the numbers

Up in Nelson again, visiting my parents. My mission for the day was to collect some information at the Gridiron Shelter for a Christchurch Multi. Mission accomplished. Stopped here on the way back 'home'. Easily found. TFTC.

Enjoyed the visit and the hunt. Another good find in our travels to Christchurch.

Out for a lunchtime drive today and decided to come out in this direction to find the Pokororo caches. Found this one first. It wasn't in the first place I checked but it was where my GPS led me and certainly fitted the hint. TFTC, Biggles.
If driving over here last night was a bit crazy to fill a streak day I hate to think what returning before work this morning is. I had considered doing a pre and post midnight find on the two caches here but I'm not very good at staying up late. Found myself with time to spare this morning so instead of a drive to Motueka detoured to here. Still managed to be at work by 750am. Another cache found and another day ticked off.
Thanks Isis58 for the cache.

Out to check caches, find caches and have a picnic. 2 of 3 went smoothly - and the finding was one of the two. Lovely colours up the valley and the cache was found when we just followed the GPS.
Thanks.
Thanks.
It was a good excuse to get the grandsons away from their screens. A beautiful day and some fresh air. Just what the doctor ordered. TFTC
A jaunt into the country for some fresh air found us in this area. It didn't take long before we were signing the log here. TFTC.
What a cracker morning to be out and about enjoying the sunshine. There are lots of signs that it would have been very different round here last Friday. There must have been a fair bit of rain. TFTC and FTF
Wee diversion on my way to Mot. Glad I checked the web site before leaving.
