#14,960. This cache has been around a while and its also a regular. That's great as I needed one of those today. It wasn't in the first few places checked but after turning around it was rather obvious. Not quite matching the hint anymore but with a regular cache you hardly need one. This is a quiet rural road until you go around the corner and find an expressway. Thanks lukeh007 for hiding it here.

Got it

Small detour from the cycleway, seemed silly not to collect this one. Went up at the right spot, one quick look and there it was! All in good order, TFTC !__________________This weekend we didn't manage to go out for a long walk as family because we had so much on. Monday mornings are usually daddy and Miss 4 year old swimming classes while Mama Fox does the necessary admin work and said admin work is PILING up. Laundry, dishes, letters, writing blog, wanting to do some canning and much more. But hey ho I wouldn't be able to do it all anyway so I decided for dad to drop me off somewhere so I can walk back home to then do my tasks. Drop off worked, caching was fun but nothing else got done Carpe Diem! And thanks for placing and maintaining all these caches to allow me to neglect the boring thing called life

Given that this is so close, TrinityNZ and I deviated of the expressway cycleway to come here. I circled around both water tanks before I found it. Nice and obvious! Darn. A decent sized cache. And I left my trackables at home. Annoying. Oh well.Pretty impressed with the hose take-offs on these tanks! For the fire brigade?---I have been wanting to cycle the expressway trail since... since... long before the expressway was built, probably. And yesterday I realised that a) I had a free weekend, and b) nothing ever happens until it actually happens, so I put out a note to my group saying I know it's short notice, but I am doing this, does anyone want to tag along and to my surprise, TrinityNZ said yes. Turns out she has found most of them, for her it was more a cycle trip than a caching trip. My original plan was to train to Waikanae then bus to Otaki, then bike back at least to Paraparaumu, maybe further, but logistics around Trinity's bike meant we could not do that, so we cycled from Waikanae to Otaki and back. Trinity came a little further then returned to Waikanae, and I carried on to Paraparaumu and took the train back. Was a little worried it might all be cancelled as busses are replacing trains from Wellington to Porirua and Petone and sometimes the busses do not have bike carriers. One didn't but I only had to wait an additional 5 minutes. The other three were fine (two there, two back).Awesome day, possibly too much sun, little to no wind, nice and cruisey.

Found it

04-Sep-22
Found on an afternoon bike ride, thank you for inspiring me to come out here.

22-Aug-22
What started out as a typical Sunday, driving home to Wellington from Wanganui and collecting caches along the way, did not end so well for when my car got impounded (not for bad cache driving though). Fortunately I did find every cache I went looking for, and this was one of them.

All quiet here made for a quick search and find.

Thanks to the CO for placing this cache and bringing me here.

15-Aug-22
Quick find and nicely hidden from muggles, thanks lukeh007!

17-Jul-22
We left a troll with a failed haircut

22-May-22
After missing out the last few caches on my ride due to pesky horse riders going up and down the path, I found this one quickly thanks to hint and after navigating a slippery slope. Nice big container. Thanks for the cache.

05-May-22
Reasonably quick find. Hint a bit out. TFTC

23-Apr-22
Found about 5m away from tank. Log a manky mess so stuck in a pill container with waterproof log rather than just moan about it.

10-Mar-22
On a trip away with my sister, Mum & Dad and of course there’s no trip away without lots of Geocaching involved! We spent today biking along here then tomorrow we are off to the Zoo! TFTC

10-Mar-22
After biking the cycleway and having a rest nearby I quickly biked up to this one while the rest of the family where putting their helmets back on etc. Cache needs a bit of tlc I’m afraid but signed my name and put it back best I could. Thanks.

17-Feb-22
After widening the search found the nice large container. TFtC

16-Feb-22
Widened our search & persistence paid off. Tftc

09-Feb-22
No sign of cache within hinted range of water-tanks, so widened scope of search. Found about 5m further along. All good in container, all though plastic bag no longer waterproof. Tftc!

21-Jan-22
Quick detour from the cycle trail to come and get these. Nice big container here, TFTC

05-Jan-22
Great cache. Thanks for the fun.

05-Jan-22
Easy find. Hidden just north if the water tank. Nice big container . Left a Christmas theme inside the container

01-Jan-22
Tftc. A nice cool hide out of the sun

19-Nov-21
#1753. On a wee caching binge in Waikanae to build up my November find numbers. The cache was quite exposed, so after signing, I covered it up a bit.

First time I have ventured along the outside of the expressway.

Tftc lukeh007 and hawker007.

07-Nov-21
Found behind tank. Relocated as per clue

07-Nov-21
Quick grab returned to where clue says

06-Nov-21
The lid was missing from the cache, but I saw it a wee way away and reunited it with the cache. I left it next to the water tank. A nice quick find thanks.

Ms_KR and I are off on a wee tour of the North Island. A travel day from Palmerston North to Petone today. The weather was good for caching and biking, not too hot, cold, windy or wet.

Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

13-Oct-21
Nice, quick and sheltered great job have inspired a family member to make their own

04-Sep-21
Tank you

21-Jul-21
Found with lid off. Log book a bit wet but still useable. Pretty spot. TFTC

21-Feb-21
So this cache is a throwdown not hidden in accordance with the hint. The CO does not appear to have ever visited this since it was "down for maintenance" when I visited several years ago but just let it live on in its new form. Okay, whatever. I revisited today just to clear an unfound cache from the map. It seems like a reasonable place for a cache so thanks for that at least.

19-Feb-21
Lid had come off but close by, jammed it on as hard as I could!

13-Feb-21
Was so cool!

09-Jan-21
Post turned into a tree but still. Tftc

09-Jan-21

18-Jan-20
A quick easy find.
As the previous finder mentioned the log is a bit damp, nothing major though.
TFTC.

17-Jan-20
Found thanks

17-Jan-20
Found it!
Log book a bit damp, and cache was visible from road, so have tucked it away (only slightly).
Thanks

12-Jan-20
Thanks for placing this cache

12-Jan-20
Short detour off the cycleway to bag this one.

23-Nov-19

I was a bit blind and wandered around before spotting the hint item.

Apologies for the late log. TFTC

[***======== NZ Mega 2020 ========](http://nzmega.com)***

Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:

* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!

Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!

28-Oct-19
Found okay once we spotted the water tank. Nice full cache.

24-Sep-19
On my annual pilgrimage to Te Horo this morning with time to make a few finds before my appointment.
I left the GPS in the car expecting to find an eclipse tin on the barrier.
How wrong could I be?
GPS in hand. Description read and then I located the good sized container.
TFTC

13-Sep-19
Found on a cycle ride up from Raumati to Harrisons and return on a rather nice sunny day. A slight breeze heading north but a delight going south. TFTC

11-Aug-19
A last minute decision by Mr Rattll to go to Waikanae meant Mrs Rattll was offered the opportunity to be dropped off somewhere for a bit of caching, so despite a marginal weather forecast, this trail was targeted.
A slight deviation from the cycle trail onto a nice quiet little road but well worth it. I continued on up the road to pick up the other cache before returning back to the cycle trail.
The cache container was easily spotted once under the cover of the tree's but I guess no muggle should have any reason to come across it accidentally.
I left an alphabet stone - the letter 'H'.
Thanks for setting this up luke007 and hawker007

24-May-19
Quick find, TFTC

05-Feb-19
Found the cache quickly, paper is getting a little bit wet.
Thanks.

24-Jan-19
For a long time we have wanted to get some smiley faces along this bike trail and these few days off in the camper were the very excuse we needed to do them. The ride was very enjoyable and very easy with just a little breeze. It was great to see such an array of different hides and to see some of the country side from a different angle. All hides appeared to be in good condition and the co ords were usually spot on
Many thanks for bringing us to this area

18-Jan-19
A quick find in a quiet spot. Not where I was expecting to be looking but trusted my GPS and the hint object came into view. Nice container, thanks for the hide

28-Dec-18
Enjoying a geocaching bike ride along the cycleway on a beautiful afternoon and took the short detour to this one. A pleasant quiet country road indeed. In spite of the helpful hint this one took longer than it should have as it was well hidden by dead grass. TFTC.

25-Nov-18
TFTC. Nice big one

14-Nov-18
A very easy find on my way home from Nga Manu. TFTC

11-Nov-18
One of ten caches located this afternoon, almost all whilst biking the trail beside the expressway. Lovely summery afternoon, great to be enjoying the outdoors. Took a couple of minutes to figure out where GZ was. Once in the correct vicinity it was a reasonably quick find. #2054. TFTC.

16-Oct-18
I was in and around Waikanae today, so thought I'd take advantage of the opportunity to try for some caches away from home to get my numbers up towards the magic 1000 which I will be hoping will be the WENZ Mega event itself this coming Saturday.

The Hint helped to make this a quick straightforward find. There was no-one else around as I located the cache, extracted and signed the log, and then replaced everything exactly as found before heading off to look for another couple of nearby caches.

Thank you for placing this cache.

30-Sep-18
Loved this one. Not at all where I thought it would be.

04-Aug-18
after doing the granny 'thing' in wgtn again this week i came up to kapiti area to stay with friend for a day or two and we have been able to get out and visit a couple of caches each day and so to day was just in the car trip leaving the others on the walkway cycle way to tomorrow.
this two cache were quick and easy although the tank is well hidden in the greenery these days. and i had to wait talking in the car at the bridge for a local to continue his walk with his black and white dog.
thank you for this cache and another smiley face.

24-Jun-18
+1 trackable

20-May-18
Great area to hide a cache as no muggles around! TFTC.

30-Apr-18
Quick easy grabb nice location

30-Apr-18
The cache was well hidden, especially considering it's size. TFTC!

25-Apr-18
quick find on an Anzac day bike ride from Paraparaumu to Peka Peka

17-Apr-18
Glad to finally turn this into a smiley face as it was the gap in the expressway caches for me. Nice drive by and a bit of reminiscing as this was a regular biking route for me when I lived in Waikanae many years ago. Thank you for bringing me here

22-Mar-18

11-Mar-18
Found during a very pleasant Sunday afternoon cycle on the EWY cycle/walk/ride path. My first use of this great new route.
Straightforward find, cache in order. Log signed, cache safely re-hidden, just as found.
Funny how it's taken me this long to get to this one. All in the space of time that a new expressway gets built! Ha!
TFTC Big Grin I visited here with team cacher zboy wonder.
The Turtle strikes again!

11-Mar-18
Bit of a scramble to get to GZ, but a quick find once there, TFTC

07-Jan-18
A really enjoyable cycle ride with the EU Crew and drawp allowed us to collect a few caches en route. TFTC

07-Jan-18
Out on the bikes today with the Emvy_Us crew, cache all good. TFTC

26-Dec-17
I wish I'd read the clue earlier, I might have saved a bit of blood. Did a bit of blackberry clearance to get back at them. TFTC.

18-Dec-17
Parked up at the end of Smithfield Road and headed southwest grabbing caches as I went. This was the first stop and a quick find and grab. The blackberry is starting to sneak in but managed to get around it at this stage. Thanks for the cache.

11-Oct-17
Today I had decided to have a try to get most of the Expressway caches from Waikanae to Peke Peka before the forecasted nasty weather turns up.

A slight detour of the Cycleway to get this one.

Cheers for the cache.

08-Oct-17
Found with Kezdan01!! TFTC!!

08-Oct-17

17-Sep-17
In Paraparaumu for a tenpin bowling tournament. Had the bike in the car, parked near Peka Peka Road and biked down down this lovely Cycle / Walkway for nine finds and two DNFs. Thanks #Road Runner for the cache

17-Sep-17
Many thanks gonefishing for replacing this one. Have been wanting to get it ticked off for ages. Saw it was up and running, so a great reason for a bike along the expressway today. TFTC

03-Sep-17
Out and about finding a few Kapiti caches today. This cache has obviously been missing for a while, so I put a replacement container out since the CO seems to be struggling to get the maintenance done. Container hidden as per the hint. It is now a largish pill bottle.
TFTC

03-Sep-17
Apparently Someone has put a new cache in place

Thanks Smile
