Got it an easy one. Thank you for placing this cache. Great views and interesting science.
The last of four finds today as we travel from Chch to Twizel with family.Nearly at our destination, but we wanted one more find so made the sharp turn onto the access road. Soon spotted the SPOR while our passengers checked out the canal. Good to finally make the detour to this cache and get a closer look at the canal overflow. Now time to head to our accommodation and have an invigorating cuppa. TFTC.
#23585. A most interesting feature (well worth a cache). I wonder what circumstances would lead to overflow. Quick find then onward to Twizel. TFTC.
Quick find!! The colour of the water in the canal is amazing! TFTC and greetings from Orange NSW
An easy park & grab. Spotted the hiding place as soon as we pulled up. Thanks for placing.
Yes a super quick find as the holiday traffic rushed pass. don't know what happened to the rain forecasted - today is brilliant Sumner! t4tc
We are on a road trip around the area and located this one quickly - just watch out for prickles right by the cache. This whole canal system is very interesting to look at. TFTC
We were staying nearby so took the opportunity to find this cache. A couple of vehicles drove past while we were there, otherwise we were undisturbed. We enjoyed the scenery and were interested to see a helicopter take off and land twice nearby. All good with the cache, TFTC sargenz.
Good to tick this one off after missing out yesterday because of muggles. Found with *Filser1*.

Out for evening walk whilst camping nearby- rain came across just as hit to cache site so was quite wet when got back to camp. Cache wasn’t concealed so have covered it. Tftc
Camped up for a few nights / days at nearby Lake Wardell.
Checked geocaching for nearby caches.
Found this one along with another up at the salmon shop and visitor centre.
A great excuse to ride the old MTB.
Great fun.

Cache was a quick find and it has turned into a lovely day after the very foggy start in Geraldine
I had to be mindful of a couple of muggle fisherman across the canal, but they couldn't see me when I was at GZ.
Thanks for putting this here for me to find

Nice easy find on our way back to Twizel after staying the night at the DOC camp by Aoraki. Great to see both ends of Lake Pukaki. TFTC
Somehow I have always bypassed this on the way to elsewhere. The ugly concrete monoliths serve a useful purpose: we watched a campervan attempt to get around them, then think better of it. Thanks for placing.
We finally managed to get away for a week’s holiday after months of lock downs and cancellations to various trips and flights. After landing in Christchurch we headed to Mount Cook to spend a few days exploring the area, doing a few walks and enjoying the dark sky star gazing, as well as exploring lakes and small towns of the Mackenzie country. We also found lots of geocaches which we enjoyed finding. Thank you to all the CO’s for taking the time to place and maintain these caches.
Dropped a coin into the cache. TFTC!

A beautiful day and stunning summer evening so we decided to grab some caches on SH8 between Twizel and Lake Pūkaki.
Interesting cache as I didn't realise the canal had an overflow facility. It really is quite a facility when you consider the stop banks.
Lovely uninterrupted views of Aoraki Mt Cook.

Having a quiet ride around Twizel before we start the A2O tomorrow.
A great place to ride, coming in from the north. Made the quick find. TFTC

On our way to Wanaka, as in no hurry nice to pick up a few treasures - TFTC
Continuing on our PWGT journey visiting the Canterbury area this weekend. Thanks to all the cachers for their efforts in setting up the GeoTours and sharing the history of New Zealand.
After an overnight in a superb new motel in Omarama, we were back on the road again. Still a bit chilly but beautiful clear sky. Another photogenic stop plus a cache TFTC.

Spending a few days roaming around the south of the South Island doing some geocaching. After spending two nights at Twizel todays plan was to move on to Tekapo. Mr S found this one. This is an interesting interconnecting series of canals and overflows. We had not realised the scheme was so extensive. The nearby mountains were wearing a necklace of clouds. Wow, a 45lb brown. Awesome. The largest we have caught on Lake Rotorua was 10lb.
Thanks sargenz. Another smilie on the road to Tekapo.
