Started working on this three yrs ago before lock down.Struggled to find the final. With help from a previous finderCame up trumps.

Last time we were in Auckland we called here but eventually had to walk away. Made contact with a previous finder who advised we were looking in the wrong area. Today with a change of focus the cache was quickly located and signed. Thank you for the placement.

I was out west for a caching event at Tui Glen today. With that wrapped up I decided that I had time to detour to this final ground zero and finally complete the formalities on this hide. This has been a number of years in the making. I have been plugging away at it, over the years, collecting waypoint information/taking photos whenever I happened to be caching nearby (I really didn't fancy the thought of doing it all in one go). With the help of a previous finder I was able to put together the coordinates for the final. At ground zero today the cache was in the very first spot I checked. Always nice to finally complete a task and get the smiley. Cheers for the multi cache placement!

Well, this is a bit of a story! When I first looked at this multi many years ago, I straight away put it in the too hard basket, at the time I thought I can get about 10 trads for the price of one multi! But over the years I have come to love multis, have several of my own! So I guess when I relooked at this I was ready for all the hard work, and boy, this multi was bloody hard work! Several reasons, one being colour blind (apples power box did my head in) and needed some serious help there. Then off course one of the power boxes has been replaced, and so the info is not there anymore. F WP is no longer there, and either the CO will update the cache page at some point OR people can contact him for the info. But I had fun that day, it was warm and I was riding around on my e-bike, got all the info via photos I needed, but I needed to contact a previous finder because a few details were a little vague and confusing. But in the end, I was home, and I put all the info together, and my co-ords I ended up with were about the 150m limit the C.O suggested from a power box. I checked in with my previous finder, and she confirmed I was pretty close, so I toddled of to the co-ords, and after a fairly decent 1 hour search, came up empty. Bugger!!! So a message was sent to the C.O, he came back with more accurate info, and said my co-ords were damn close! So today I went back again, and this time, I went back to the same spot I had seen before, and this time I changed my angle, i.e got down closer and whaddayaknow..... there's the cache. I would have been no more than 2 inches from touching it on my last visit.....lol. So V-E-R-Y happy to be signing in today Tanetops, thanks for your help sir, and I'll even give you a FP despite the missing power box, for setting it all up.

Went and checked this today, all transformers are there, still painted, but for WP F. transformer is quite new looking and obviously been replaced. So info also gone.

I enjoy the way these boxes have been painted. The final coords were got on a previous visit over the Bombays. After having no success I went and tried a different angle which proved to be successful. Little water in the container but log book all good. Thank you for the placement.

WOW! I had solved this one nearly eight years ago and I am just getting around to sign it off. I enjoyed the puzzle back then and I am enjoyinging it more to get it off my todo list.Big Grin It is worth a fave.

Cheers for the cache, tanetops.

# 1861 After completing Paintbox recently, this one was a piece of cake! I took photos of all the boxes, this time being careful to capture images of all sides. I was lucky at one of the boxes in that my notebook happened to have a ruler along one side, so that came in handy, for the one and only time i will probably ever use that feature.

At home with the spreadsheet, the numbers came together pretty easily, with only one apple related question giving me any grief, although there was one George related WP that i had to think a little more deeply about.

Went to GZ today only to find the hide had recently received some work, and the cache was probably swept up in this. Thanks to the CO for allowing me to log it anyway.

Cheers, another very fulfilling multi, gets a fav from me.

Cache confirmed missing.
A new container has been place in a more appropriate location than the original, the co-ordinates once deciphered are still applicable

Have been working on this for a while, but found it very confusing with so many elements that could be interpreted different ways. Id an idea where it might be after my latest efforts put cache about 200 m off Green Bay, however the vector from my location passed right next to one of the way-points so that was where my search was to begin. An off chance remark to a fellow addict at the Hanger meet confirmed I was headed to the correct spot. When found, the cache was fairly exposed due to weather and the elements so without moving it more than 1 meter, I re-hid it under the same natural camo it had originally been concealed by...cheers for a great..if frustrating challenge...cheers V

Aftr DNFing this one last week I sat down during the week to examine our answers with photos taken while travelling about. Managed to confirm that most of the them were OK but decided that one could be interpreted in a different way so looked to see what that would do to the coordinate possibilities. It moved the final by about 20 meters or so to what looked to be a promising spot on google maps so back we go for another look.

I thought in my last log that it might be useful to have more than one and so it proved. Mrs Tuolei was able to look after Albert the Geohound while I had an in more depth look around the GZ. After just a couple of minutes found the nicely hidden cache in its cover of natural camo. It is still in excellent condition despite not having been found for well over a year. No problems signing and replacing the log and cache.

Thanks for an interesting ramble about West Auckland, we have started its sister cache which is, if anything even trickier and in the end we got rained out today but we've made a solid start. All good here.

Solo today so took on this challenging multi which after 3 hours plus has finally defeated me. Took screeds of notes and pics. One waypoint is taped off for safety reasons at the moment but got close enough to have a guess. One to do in a group I think. Took some guesses for what my errors might have been and looked in a few spots - mostly not T1 though so probably not right.

A couple of weekends ago on a very wet day while pouring with rain we set about driving the circuit for these art works over power. At one a neighbour came out and asked if we were from the power board as the lightning strike in the morning had taken the power out and although back on had knocked out his internet. We disappointed him by saying we were just there to enjoy the art. After capturing all of the detail and clues we set about working out the coordinates. Something was not adding up for us and it was after some repeated reviews and a check that we had the correct numbers needed. So toady while capturing some caches in the nearby area we decided to finally locate this one. Loved the series and it gets a favourite from us.

I took my time collecting the necessary information over the last week or so, and today I stopped by the last one. After doing some number crunching I came up with a likely spot. So I made the short trek over to have a look. At GZ the cache was a quick find, which was great because I wasn't 100% sure that my answers were all correct. This is the longest multi I've done in a while and I had a good time with it. TFTC! #1096

The art on these is fantastic! A very enjoyable multi. I was on the way to Mitre10 in Henderson but it took a little longer to arrive after I was sidetracked by the waypoints. After doing the maths and an internet search at home and hoping I had the answers all correct I headed back out for the final. I was happy to find the coords almost spot on and soon had the cache in hand. TFTC!

This has been on my 'to do' list for awhile and finally I had the time earlier this week to take a nice drive around West Auckland to find all the information I needed. I had a slight problem with one of the numbers, but was able to make a calculated guess that gave me probable co-ords. A check with the CO said I was slightly off but it shouldn't make much difference . So today, the rain had stopped and the sun was shining and off I went, my co-ords taking me straight to the cache for a quick find. Thanks for taking me to parts of the city I have never been to before and for showing me some of the fabulous artworks on these boxes. A fp added

Had done all the research and observations for the cache and the other multi but took all the info home to complete the calculations. Very happy to get this one signed off and another Tanetops cache under our belt, TFTC

Couldn't get the figures together due to being confused over bugs with many legs. My final destination turned out to be extremely close to one of the waypoints. Oh well, lovely art work to admire during the exercise.....

Riding high from our Paintbox mission we decided we needed to tackle this one - which, thankfully, turned out to be far less of a challenge than Paintbox. We actually think we manage to do this one without any mistakes this time. A quick check of some facts and we had some co-ordinates and a quick find. Another great concept and execution of a multi.

Off the back of our success with PaintBox, KiwiFruitsNZ (Trudie) and I thought we would see how far we could get with this multi. Gathered the data, grabbed a coffee so we could put the numbers in a prepared spreadsheet and out popped the coords and we were off to GZ! Great joy and another happy dance when we found this one too. (Favourite point).

12-Feb-15
Whilst out caching on Sunday, yorkshirekiwi83 and I visited all the way points for this multi, as we drove around. I took all the numbers home and did the maths there - there was only one number that I was unsure of, so worked backwards to figure it out and get likely co-ordinates. We visited our calculated GZ today and soon spotted the cache there! Thanks for multi and the tour of the West Auckland power boxes!

12-Feb-15
Vistra and I popped out this evening to collect a few more caches out west. We had collected all the requirements at the weekend so was just a case of grabbing the final. Was in the obvious spot at GZ, thanks for the cache.

Did this one over a couple of days. Had to return twice to look for final cache as there was some ambiguity on one of the questions. Nice art pieces. My final coord's lead me to a water meter box. Looked around for a while before giving up in frustration. As I was returning back to the car I managed to spot the cache in its hiding place about 10m away from where I was looking.

We spent an enjoyable hour or two driving around this Art collection gathering the information to find the cache. The artworks are well chosen to allow parking at or nearby each one, though it does pay to get out of the car and inspect all sides of some of them.
After visiting our last one we did some calculations and were off to sign the log. Thanks.

Visited cache today to check for TB which looks like its been moved on. All well with cache, signed log and returned to its hiding place. Thanks again for this cache.

Thanks for a wonderful tour of the beautiful artwork, have seen them but never stopped to appreciate them until now. My first calculations had me swimming off Puketutu Island, but it would appear that I learnt about the birds and the bees but not the birds and the butterflies. Recalculated and corrected my adding and cache was in hand. Putting cache back I felt I was being watched looked up to find a inquisitive black dog looking at me. For me this was the first and last stop in the puzzle. Can't give favourite points but give it my personal awesome+. Tftc Smile

Found originally as part of Rebel98 team, now created own account, re-logging as rustynz

Loved solving this multi, looked at all the co-ords and tried to solve each one when in the area. The artists create beautiful work! Thanks again for the hide and the adventure.

Have been collecting these over a couple of weeks, decided to visit a friend, and collect the rest. Two gave me multiple answers, but after a few extra calculations created some co-ordinates for GZ. solved last night, but waited until today for search. The artwork is beautiful. Thanks for the hide and bringing us here. Big Grin

We really enjoyed solving this multi thank you Tanetops ...We went round a couple of days ago to collect the numbers ...did the simple calculations ...and popped out after dark to pick up the final !
I found your instructions to be totally clear to follow ! Lucky for me Ric had a measuring tape in his car and knew a bit about Kings ! Great fun .. As a local and a keen walker I have enjoyed these art works since they started appearing a few years ago ...Favourite ! TFTC

Started out, to just do a couple but ended up with the lot.
Lively discussion at several as to the answer but we ended up with all correct.
enjoyed them all. TFTC.

An enjoyable drive around west auckland with these interesting artworks being pointed out - I had noticed a couple of them about but had not realised there were quite so many. Certainly makes them less of a blot on the landscape. I admit I did have some counting and interpretation issues here and there - firstly with George, but I twigged to that one a bit later. I won't admit what I first thought, although I reckon there was at least some logic behind my mistake. Anyway, this is certainly a good cache for honing one's observation skills. After a little bit of re-evaluating where my calculations went wrong, I headed out to the GZ and had the cache in hand within seconds. Good fun, +1 fave. {FTF} #1502 Big Grin TFTC!!! Big Grin
