Logs
11 April 2024. Have done a maintenance run of most of my caches on the TRT, removing full log sheets and replacing with new write-in-the-rain plastic 'paper' ones. All good to go here.
The last day of an Easter visit to Turangi with rattll. Picking up some of our last caches along the river, this was a quick find not far along from the Major Jones Bridge. Log dry, signed, and returned as found. Tftc!
Awesome treasure truck whomever left it there. Thank you. Love the trade. Yip agree with previous finder - paper is wet.
Found it. The kids loved the little toy in there . It's a bit wet so it might need to be maintained
Beautiful day for a walk. Popular this Easter weekend. TFTC, damp but writable paper
Misread the hint so went in too deep. Mr BLB spotted it as we emerged. Tftc
First family walk geocaching. The kids looked at the hiding spot but didnt find it. Found it eventually. Tftc

Currently staying in turangi mountain biking and bush walking and geocaching. This morning we biked along the Tongariro river trail and picked up some of the caches along the way. Great little hideyhole here, TFTC

Thanks cartertonic for placing these caches on the Tongariro River trail. I didn't spot the flying fox but did find a cache! TNLNSL TFTC
Spent too much on the nearby cache and didnt find it but this one jumped right out at me. TFTC.
Quick find once we read the hint precisely as looked on wrong side first . Thanks
Beautiful day for a walk and found the hint object easily enough but despite two good searches this cache stayed hidden! A cache to have another hunt for another day
Headed down to Taupo for a long weekend to attend the Possum Night Trail run on Saturday. Left Auckland early on Friday, getting stuck in the traffic on the way to Fielddays at Mystery Creek. Soon left the State Highway to travel down to Turangi.
On Friday I decided to complete the Tongariro River Trail. I completed the 14.75km circular route in 4 hours of caching. I parked on SH1 near the bridge into Turangi and headed up the steep route to start the walk.
A shame you can't experience the flying fox! Cache found nice and quickly.

My second foray along the river trail this afternoon. My starting point this time as the end of Koura Street. The rain had eased a bit. I was pretty much soaked through but still enjoyed the walk. TFTC
After doing the AL I carried on to here. Never done this part of the walk before. But made for a nice loop. Quick find. Tftc.
Beautiful day today collecting caches along the Tongariro river. It’s so much fun, but has been ages since I last rode a bike, so I am sure I will be very sore. Looking at the smileys on the map though makes it all feel worth it. Thanks for the cache!
When we got back to the swing bridge, it was raining heavily. My caching companion decided to head directly back to our accommodation while I carried on with the original plan of a figure eight circuit. I soon regretted that decision as the rain started falling even more heavily, Fortunately, it began to ease as I arrived at this site. I made a quick find here. I think this was the cache in which I put in a sheet of waterproof paper.
Bit of zig, zagging around doing the Ad Lab cache near here, but no problem finding this cache today while out for a bike ride along here, TFTC
‘Twas a nice short walk on a beautiful day, interesting location and history. Left a dollar for good fortune to the next cache hunters. Tftc
In the vicinity for a Lab cache stage, all good with this find in an obvious hinted location, thanks cartertonic.
Day 1 was getting there and catching up so left at a decent time across the Desert Road in pouring rain and wind-chill assisted chills. Managed a few finds before Liv turned up, then an easy orientation time for the first afternoon/evening.
A 3 day trip to Turangi is the plan for the weekend, but the weather is not looking likely to be all that favorable with lots of rain forecast. My youngest daughter is driving down for the weekend from Auckland to hang with Dad, so looking forward to that as I haven't seen here for a little while now. We stayed in the work's bach for the weekend and that was all good with sound amenities and a nice amount of caches were located. Also managed a soak in the Tokaanu hot pools, finished off 4 different Lab Cache series, and a couple of Geotour caches too. Thanks to all COs for their caches this weekend.

Thanks for your amazing cache. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches.

Been in Turangi area for two nights, time for a bike along river to find some caches before heading home to Palmerston North. Thanks CartertoniC for the cache.

On Tippy Top cache trip with DavidsonClan, having done the summit cache in the morning there was time and energy left to find some more caches before it was time to head home.
Sorted this one out while crossing the bridge 6X for the Ad Lab, past a group of Fly Fishermen, didn't know it was a thing at night!!

Spending a week in Taupo, so a good excuse to pick a few caches along the way.

Nice to get this one as was missing last time. Now to go and walk back over that bridge for the 4th time doing the lab cache.
One of 10 (traditional) caches found whilst biking the river loop in an endeavour to complete the “Fishing the Tongariro” Ad Lab quest. Found this one reasonably quickly. #4445. TFTC.
Staying in Tūrangi for the night before setting off to walk the Tongariro Northern Circuit. Having checked in to my accommodation there was plenty of time for a loop around the river walk and to pick off some caches on the way.
Drawn in by the feature itself I overshot the GZ but retracing my steps soon had me in the right place for a quick find
Thanks CartertoniC

Staying in Turangi for the night on our way south. Headed off early on the bike to explore the riverside trails. Great to be on two wheels in such stunning surroundings and finding caches as a bonus. Thanks cartertonic for setting this series. Loved the detailed hints. Another TRT ticked off. Cache and log all fine. Managed to combine these finds with several adventure lab waypoints. Lots of overlapping which was helpful. Better head back soon as I can see a rainbow in the direction I’m going. I guess it’s raining there. Thanks for the smiley.
Part of our trip along the river trail on our ebikes. Rather than waiting for the GPS to zero, the good clue got us on the way quickly. I've found a few caches near gauging stations over the years. TFTC.
A nice quick find thanks.
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee tour of the North Island. It was a great weather most of today, well not wet and not windy! We were based around Turangi and mixed up the day with a bit af walking, biking and driving.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Hello so excited to have found another geocache on my way walking this track on the Tongariro River Trail.
Nice easy find on our little loop walk around the river. Nice and misty and heaps of trout fishers out. TFTC!
The presence of a well designed impressive looking flying fox structure is very intriguing. Lots of questions here. Meanwhile, found the nearby cache with Kauriforest. TFTC

Evening walk along the river after dinner. Getting dark quickly - believe we found the correct hint location but no cache. Found a rock sitting out in the open. Darkness was not our friend.
