Unfortunately the disease ridden tree has been totally removed and no longer exists. Only a couple of small islands are evident to help pedestrians crossing the road. RIP Priceless Time.
Out for the afternoon with my muggle sister.
Sadly the tree is no longer g just a high stump and considerable decay.
Found the container, and my sister said 'is that it??', she'd only seen regular sized ones.
The partial camo was on the ground, the magic glue has stopped working on part if it but replaced as well as I could.
Thanks for the smilie TaraTed.

A second find for Miss Two and I at the WOMAD festival. We spent too much time looking in the wrong place before going back to the plaque and realising there was a much more obvious manhole. Log found safe and sound, contrary to previous log. Thanks!
I am in New Plymouth for the third time in as many months for yet another work event.
I stayed not to far from here last night and worked out that it should be a relatively quick and easy find in the morning. Pulled up to see that what I had been imagining as a magnificent tree had fairly recently been reduced to a now impressive stump. I did think initially that this was such a shame however on closer inspection it was probably for safety as it looked pretty rotten near the base so may have blown down soon. The CO might want to keep an eye on thing in case they remove the plaque as well in the next few weeks.
Spotted the likely hide from metres away and was pleased to be correct. signed the log while listening to the horses at their morning training on the track. Replaced as found. Giving an FP. TFTC

Up in New Plymouth for the womad music festival with time to pick up puzzle caches. I was successful with three find but there was no way for me to sign as the log has gone missing. Hopefully the CO will accept this as a genuine find. I will send a photo to prove.
Quick park and grab on a rainy day. Had to displace a few locals (shudder), but log signed successfully. TFTC
A very interesting tree. We have never been very good with degrees on GPS but gave it a go then reverted to the hint. A quick find then. A well done hide thanks for the placement.
We saw this rather intriguing little offset so decided to come and take a look at it. The tree is lovely and the plaque information very interesting. We had the GPSr with us so used the sight n go to get us going to GZ. Once we got there we could not find anything that we thought might hold a cache. Looked around for a bit and thought about what to do. Saw that there was an alternative way to determine location so we used that instead and that took us straight to the cache. Quick find once we were in the right spot. The earwigs weren't too pleased that we were dislodging them from their home but we on the other hand we pleased to knock this puzzle off. Thanks for the cache - nice to do something slightly different. All good here.
I went to get this one today but the cache was not there. The CO needs to check it out.
rustynz tells me I need to catch up with all my logging!
A 3 day weekend of fun with a group of Westies (rustynz, gorby, jag58 & merlot58)
Sorry for the generic logs. Thanks to all the CO for the hides, and the adventure

A group of West Aucklanders (including Merlot58, RustyNZ, Rebel98 and Gorby) were in New Plymouth for a weekend of geocaching. The rain was starting to get heavy so we used our geo senses to find GZ. Cache quickly located with a family of slaters using the cache container as their new home. Signed in as Team Westies.
I was with a Team of Westies in New Plymouth to find some caches. The heavens had opened so we quickly worked out where gz was and found the cache. A family of slaters had taken up residence so Rustynz tried to knock them off and in doing so managed to drop the cache! There were a few tense moments as we frantically searched the long grass and thankfully found it! Whew! Signed as Team Westies
Sometimes it's necessary to admire why we are here at a cache, it's not always about the cache or numbers, usually that part is boring. But the reason I wanted to be here is because of the fabulous tree, African it might be but it ain't no Baobab like one in our group said. A coral tree it is. So while I was pondering these matters a few of our crew went and found the cache, I suspect the meters and the angle are incorrect, but the cache was found regardless.
After a coffee/hot chocolate at a cafe, it was time to look for the next cache. The rain had almost stopped, although when I stepped out of the car, my foot dangled in the gutter that was filled with fast flowing water!
A short walk, loved "Ridge" street. So with a few hint items to navigate by, off we went, and we were soon at a suspicious item. After retrieving the cache, on shaking the slaters off the cache, it disappeared into the long grass. Woops second time this weekend (can not remember doing this ever!). Thankfully had an idea of where it fell, and we soon had the cache again
With merlot58 trusty tool, the log was retrieved and was soon being signed.
Another fun puzzle, thanks for the hide, log signed Team Westies (merlot58, rustynz, rebel98, Jag50 and Gorby)

On the way back home from the Naki from picking up a recent purchase we had made. The plan was to grab a few of the cache I had missed on the way down and head up Mount Davidson. The weather this morning mostly held out for me and poured down just as I had found the last cache of the day.
Had just got back from the trip down the coast and was finding my way to fuel up for the trip home. I missed the road I was meant to go down so ended up headed past this puzzle. I quickly decided I could grab one more find before heading North. I had guessed the projection for this puzzle back in the comfort of my own home, and was rather pleased at how close I was. No issues spotted the well hidden cache, which was being guarded by a horde of slatters. Thanks for the hide.

Ok I'll be honest. This is my second visit. This time I brought a secret weapon... my geopartner Geocchi.
Signed GeoPaz. Very clever! Tftpc

Amazing tree. I lived in South Africa for many years but didn't recognise the type of tree.
With the cache, I should have noticed something was out of place sooner. Some very cunning work done here. Well done!

On a 10 day holiday of the North Island of NZ visiting from Australia sl thanks for the cache. This is my first mystery cache for New Zealand.
Out with Tom+Lee this morning, we arrived just in time for a big cycle race to fire past. Luckily that meant all the nearby muggles were distracted. Cache in good condition thanks
Tough find this morning with eltee291! We did everything right but the cache was hidden very well. Eventually we looked a little bit closer and there it was! Amazing camo job! Very cool! Very neat tree at the coordinates too. Signed the log and replaced as found. Visiting from Canada! Thanks for the cache! A favorite for sure!
Tough find today with hingis20 as we grab a few caches as we leave New Plymouth for Palmeson North. I was actually touching the holder of the cache without knowing it and then left to try somewhere else. We started again and ended up in the same spot as the first time and it was then I noticed the trick to getting the container. Very nice cache, well disguised and well hidden. TFTC
Yay, found it! Another great cache that made me think. Hard not to look a bit dodgy while looking for this one but a quiet Muggle day so it was ok.
Wow, awesome. We were mislead a bit and pulled something g apart that wasn't the cache. A bit of investigating got us there in the end. Thanks!
A cool hide, lots of bugs seem to think so to. I wonder over the years how many hundreds of Boys High students have walked past not knowing it's here.
Got distracted by something else first, but soon had it located. Plenty of room on log. Tftc
I am staying in New Plymouth with my sister on a trip from Australia for a week before heading up to the mega event, so taking the opportunity to grab some caches in the area. Today I was down here where after a dismal start to the day things just kept improving with the weather and by now the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day.
Found the plaque and GZ quick enough, but was distracted by the other object that looked like it might have come apart with the correct tools that I didn't have, so checked out some other nearby areas before returning, and on a closer look spotted the hide rather than the distraction. Looks like I got the last spot on the log scroll (though I didn't unroll it all the way) so it might need a swap. Thanks Priceless Time.

Cool camouflage. Wouldn't have found it without hint. Real compass would help!!
My first mystery cache! thought I'd start with a simpler one just to get the feel for it. Cool placement!! hoping to do 4 different caches today. Off to do a earthcache now. TFTC
In Taranaki for the weekend and collecting a few caches along the way with tmann421.

Very nicely crafted container - thanks for the fun find.

The mind behind this cache is very clever. Won't have to worry about my brain going mush if I keep this game up! Magnetic had me confused, climbed the fences twice, seared around every thing that could have been magnetic. Then what's this? It's it a tool. Took a photo to investige at home. Then just about to leave and saw something tiny - oooo it moved something oooooo- I found it. Fabulous p
Found it today with Gnome62. I went over the wrong manhole cover. The Gnome put me right. Thanks for the cache.
An interesting plaque and a clever hide. Took a bit to extract log. Thanks for a great cache. We are enjoying our road trip from Hawkes Bay
One of my favourites so far and my first mystery cache. Awesome hiding spot too! Thanks!
Great cache and loved the camo, figured out where to go and nice and quiet in the morning. TFTC
Replaced log. Iooks as though it's been dropped and lost in the long grass PLEASE TAKE CARE AS THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED
My first mystery cache, and it is a mystery, no cache with the logbook rolled tiny inside, looks like it has fallen out, I climbed the fence and searched both sides in the wet grass, ttc
Terrific hide. 2nd find of the day on Daniel and daddies most excellent geocaching adventure!
Success!! Had searched for this previously but clearly I was well off and in need of a lessin of what a man hole cover is.... took me awhile to figure out but a genuis hide!! And one thing I despise about geocaching is extracting and rerolling nanologs tftc
Great fun finding this! Kids loved working as a team to find the cache. Thank you for the fun! TFTF ☺
Half an hour to kill in new plymouth so I dialed up the cache list. Drove past this one and noticed a complete lack of muggles, to good an opportunity to pass up. Cache quickly located and logged.
Cheers.
Cheers.
off to do some shopping and geocaching, had to stop in and find this one, lovely set up of cache, very clever TFTC
Found this one with muezz75 on our 2016 New-Zealand tour.

29 December 2015 21:04 number 2897. Interesting history and clever use of terrain. Worth a FP.
Found after a short search - I had pre-solved this one before coming here but the bearing given on the cache page appears to be 115 degrees magnetic and I had used degrees true. The hint helped to resolve that issue. A nicely concealed cache, well done! Signed log, TFTC
I am busy saying that it tricky and might take us s bit of searching and before I can finish sentence mini male oddball found it! It is very very cool and would like to do one like this back in the tron somewhere. Tftc. Fav point from us.
Parked up on the ridge and followed the instructions to reach GZ. Liked the interesting hide. Thanks.
What a find! 2nd visit to site- and a little tip helped us! Love it!!!! Tricky tricky!!
Finally found it after 5 attempts very very clever. Thank you well worth a fave point
What a cool cache . I knew straight away where it was but it took a bit of figuring out exactly how to access it. I hope there are more clever ones like this around New Plymouth, Definitely a favourite for me thank you.
What a clever hide! Used to walk by it every morning and never thought there's a GZ hidden nearby. Tftc!
This a very clever hide. Well made worth a av. Point from me. This is an interesting tree planted almost on the road. thank you for this cache.
#6411. An interesting tree right in the middle of Ridge Lane at the junction with Rogan Street. Walked over to GZ, which was all quiet when we visited. Found after a short search. Very nice hide. The cache was in excellent condition. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log. Thanks for the field puzzle and cache.
In the area for WOMAD so could t resist a bit of cacheing whilst here. As there was a break in the music that I wanted to see I popped of site for a shopping trip and a little wander. As this was en route to the shops I had to stop off to grab this one.
A nice simple but very effective idea for a hide and a little bit of history to boot.

Interesting looking tree, don't think I would want to stand under it during a storm. Quick find, good way to hide a cache. SL TFTC.
A sneaky hide, very well done. Great views of the mountain whole walking here today thanks. Fav point.
I would be the newbie thats on a roll hehe. Awesome find, had us scratching our heads and the foot prints threw us off but we figured it out. Great workmanship too

Had business at both ends of the Island and managed a transition day inbetween to find my first ever caches in Taranaki - glad I did. Thanks for putting these out and bringing me to this neck of the woods.
Afternoon sunshine made a short walk feasible, no muggles around, so achieved this cache quickly. What a clever hide! Thanks for the tool. Made sure to replace everything securely. TFTC
