Might just be having an off day, but could not find any flax around the soldier, though there is some large clearing that’s been done so it may have perished?

Took a food/caffeine/sanity break on my drive from Whangarei to New Plymouth. Found there was a cache nearby and went for short walk from the car park. Not too keen on the harakeke hunts but this was straightforward and I was soon on the road again. Thanks.

We tried looking for this one a while ago in the pouring rain and decided to come back when it was a bit drier.
Today after more than forty consecutive days with no rain in Auckland we came back on the first day the rain returned. Seems this cache only wants us to find it in bad weather.
But fortunately the rain wasn't too heavy and we managed to locate the cache quickly.
It was also early in the day so no muggles were around to cause us any problems.
Thanks Great South Road, we are pleased to finally earn a smiley.

While passing through from a customer site back to the main Auckland office, stopped here for lunch and a quick geocache. Found after a wander around the old soldier.
Nice quick find while waiting for family to arrive for lunch coords were off a bit but used the hint to find. Great spot!
On the way to Cambridge we stopped here to represent our legs and buy delicious cheese. Cans of cache were added as a bonus.
Many thanks to the owner for setting and maintaining the cache.

Fifth time lucky. Every time on our down south we stopped here trying to find this cache with no luck until today. TFTC
Coordinates were showing across the road for us. But went for the more obvious location and quickly found the cache. Thanks for the cache
Out on a road trip with Tuolei and Merlot58. The nearby Bridge was closed, so we had to take a detour. We Stopped to check out the new route and noticed this cache close to where we parked. Quick find thanks to the hint.
Out geocaching today with Merlot58 and Jag50 and by happenstance we ened up here due to rerouting - the bridge we wanted to take was closed so we ended up coming back past here on our way to a different way to cross the river.
Stopped in here and admired the lovely war memorial and read the plaques and took a look at the fine fellow on the top. Interesting info on here which is crying out to be a multi - including a nice twist we had a chuckle about.
Find for Jag50 who did all of the formalities on behalf of everyone.
Thanks for the cache, all good here.

After stopping for lunch near by I checked to see if there were any caches near by. I had already found one so I wandered down to this one. After much searching it turned out to be where I thought it would be originally.
I didn't have a pen though so I had to return after getting one from my car to sign the log.

After stopping to get fuel before heading back south thought we would hunt this one out. Great memorial. Thanks
This is the first for us on this series. Very quiet here today even if that’s the end of the long week end. TFTC
Interesting War Memorial. Must have had my eyes painted on not to spot this immediately but got there in the end. TFTC.
Thanks for this cache, Great South Road. I was pleased to find it surprisingly quickly.
I am driving to Chch from Whangarei, have already dropped my cousin off at Akld Airport & now have some time to cache. It has been a lean month (family reasons).

Right by the Mighty Waikato! Also right by the Mercer cheese shop which we just had to support. Tftc
Found all ok, had been meaning to pick this up a few times, however every time there were too many muggles. Plenty of fog cover, though! TFTC, another gemstone collected for the latest challenge. #2000
This could have been a pretty difficult find with my smartphone indicating the cache was to be found in the middle of the road. So I was glad when I discovered the very nicely sized container without having to poke through the harakeke... Very nice, Tftc
Out and about to find some caches for the Mystery in the Museum challenge. Found together with Piratenschatzsucher and Greenkiwikids and signed as team Piraten. Tftc

Not sure how this soldiers pedestal ended up in Mercer... but interesting anyway. The onslaught of war hits me every time I see these memorials... TFTC
Caching on the road with a couple of tourists and decided to make our way here and see how we got on.
Stopped for some bacon treats first before looking for the cache and they clearly helped as the cache was quickly found in a likely looking spot.
Appreciate the history around here - TFTC

Found with CreasyBear on our way to Waitomo! Stopped off here to visit the cheese shop and saw this one! TFTC!
Thanks gor the cache, nice uick stop for this one on our mini holiday on holiday with DevinDumpling23.
This week is my with Ethness in the North Island. We are driving from Wellington to Auckland, with a few detours. It is a 5 day trip.
Today is day one after spending the night in Hamilton we went out geocaching to Auckland. We are signing as TEN Team Ethness Nosynel.
We were stopping for larger geocaches, old geocaches, eye puzzle series and enjoying others on the way.
We solved the puzzles at home over time. Then we incorporated our puzzles into the plan. I love geo Art.
Another nice sized container. My last find. That was 101 tod9.
Sadly there is no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. I plan on going to the OzGeomuster in July. To find out more visit this site: https://www.ozgeomuster.com.au
If you can't make Aussie. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland. I will keep you posted in my logs.
Thanks for hiding this geocache.

#479. Mr Northwood had to travel up to Bombay to pick up one of the junior Northwoods. Stopped along the way to gather a few caches as time allowed.
Another place you'd never find unless looking for a cache. The log is a bit soggy. TFTH.

Nice quick find at gz. Kaleb made the quick find before grabbing some photos thanks for the placement.
The Central North Island, Day 5: National Park - Hamilton - Auckland
It’s Christmas Day, and the end of this incredible journey through the North Island. Today’s weather was quite a mixed bag with some rain, some sun and some wind. This didn’t dampen the mood though, as we drive North through King Country and Waikato to get a sampling of the history of the region. A very productive day throughout, despite the weather, and a great Christmas Day!
The following is the specific log for each cache:
Came by here on the way into Auckland as there were two caches easily available. Fairly quick find here, despite my initial fear that the flax would have made this a painfully long affair. All good, nice title and hint. TFTC!

Been a while since I've done any serious caching so thought I should get back into it and make a wee day of it. Driving up to Auckland for a workshop so decided to grab a few caches on the way up. This one had me looking completely in the wrong place for a while until I had a proper think about it and managed to spot the right place to look. Thankfully made the find quickly after that. Earned myself a toot on emerging from GZ. Thanks for the cache
Another find on my journey with Anytar and Mr Potty to relocate a campervan from Christchurch to Auckland. Tftc
Took a little diversion from the road trip to get a few caches in Mercer. A fairly quick find here and TFTC.
Our last road trip cache before returning the camper van and flying back to London with Mr Potty while Mumander flies south. We’ve driven up from Rotorua today and will return the van to Auckland airport. We needed a fuel stop before we reached the Auckland region so this was the prefect stop for both refuelling and caching. Thanks
A bit slow to log this, I'm afraid. Great cache - loved the hide and the joke, but, as so often, the memorial is very touching. Great cheese shop nearby, too TFTC
Found this one at last while slipping down to pick up grandchildren. Dropped off a TB.
RELATIVELY EASY FIND. ANOTHER WET LOG BOOK.
LEFT A PINK SURPRISE.
TAKING HOME THE BACON TOO

Mrs B and I joked about clearing out a whole town after picking up the other Mercer cache before this one. Really enjoyed the cheese shop across the road as well so we will be back even though there aren't more caches to find. TFTC.
Tftf rescued from a wet whole and now in a safer place close to where was found log book a little damp but nothing major
I'm on a rare solo drive down to meet up with the other Tregonnings in Tauranga, so taking the opportunity to make a few stops en route. Quick find here thanks!
An impromptu visit to Auckland had Team BOP heading for a bit of night caching.
It was approaching 4am when we visited this cache on the way home and I really dont remember visiting this. Oh wait, now I do. It was cold and I was over tired, so left the finding and signing to the others while I snoozed in the car. I was over this trip! Back home in bed by 6:30am I was ready for my bed!

With a break in the weather this was the perfect weekend for geocaching. I had no plans so with the help of TNXPro and Squirrelnutcase we sought out a worthy adventure heading West to help Squirrel clear his map. What no one knew at the time was this adventure would morph to span 21 hours, cover 3 regions and we'd have Davidson clan join us at the half way point just in time for the Auckland leg of our journey. A crazy day with Team BOP but there's no denying - it's a lot more fun with friends!
With the sun well and truly gone we had the place to ourselves which was good but the wet grass really tested our "waterproof" footwear. The cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords and a straight forward placement. I really enjoyed your little write up as well. Cheers Great South Road, TFTC

Quick find by Philip.Perry on our way home from a nights caching in Auckland .
First find of the day on our way to Hamilton. Was a quick one thanks to the previous cacher. Coordinates are still about 12m out though. Log is a bit damp. Tftc
Given the hint, I was a bit worried this one would be taxing to find, but before I even got to the GZ, hayleyfcy called out that she had found it. Thank goodness!
I give up! Couldn't find anything under the harakeke and didn't have time to keep digging
Stopped here on my way to the airport. Searched for a while without any luck. Will be back. Thanks anyway Great South Road
After stopping in Pokeno for some of their famous bacon sammies (one can't go South without stopping there!) - this was our first find of our Labour Weekend Geocaching Adventure to Napier with Furbies, lillianz, PhantasmNZ and Mrs PhantasmNZ.
Thanks for starting us off the weekend on a win/find!
Log signed as "PFLL17".

Was traveling back to Auckland after a few days further south. Had a couple of looks but could not see anything in the hint may I need to go to specsavers? Will be up again in 12 months ... i may have glasses by then
Stayed the night close by and dodged the rain to look for this. Coordinates were 10m out by my reckoning and when eventually found not in harakeke. Thanks for the cache placement
Great piece of history here....found cache quite easily but not where I expected ...cache all good and dry which is better than me after the search lol thanks for a great placement
Searched high and low but nothing. I did find an awesome cheese shop across the road. YUM!!
This is a bonus cache for us, as we drove this way by mistake, but thought we may as well stop to find the cache.
Found with trayc.g..Logging now as I now have my own account. TFTC Took us awhile I remember
