We checked on this one while passing on 6/7/21 and it has gone missing, so we’re archiving it. We will make a note of the code on the Tauranga Bonus cache page.
Even though I have found this before, I never had the number. Came back today and yes, the cache has gone. I messaged the C.O's and they graciously gave me the number I needed. Thank you for that!!
After a fourth DNF we’re disabling this until we can check on it, after we get back from the SI in a few weeks time.
Out and about with the elder Future Finder for a start of the school holidays day trip around the country side. The park was rather busy today, particularly with muggles sailing miniature boats on the lake. As such, I was only able to have a very brief search. May still be there, though it might be worth a CO check just in case.
Nice and easy here whilst stopping off for the nearby Virtual.
On the way back home and after not walking around the mount earlier I was up for a walk so the Waihi mine rim was a handy replacement and with plenty of variety.
A road trip with my daughter today. She wanted to go to Tauranga, and I was on leave for the most part of this week so this was a mutually enjoyed visit to the BOP for the first time in a few years. We left at just after 6 to beat the traffic and after a long hold-up at Maccas we were soon on our way. A stop off in Paeroa on the way to the Mount (which was unexpectedly, and frustratingly, closed) and then a few TMGTs and the Waihi mine loop walk and all was good. Back in good time and late enough to avoid the traffic snarl ups.

Visiting Waihi for the weekend from Auckland. Needed the loo so stopped here. Great park and fountain, and super loo music. Checked the map, discovered there are some caches here. 'Relieved' ... to find this. All good here. TFTC

FF65 got volunteered to retrieve this one. She claimed that it was no fun to crawl through long grass and leaves in shorts. I was unsympathetic........... Thanks for the fun!
Stopped on the way south as I had a bit of time to spare. A quick find thanks to info from previous logs. TFTC.
I have the great privilege to be on a caching trip with Merlot58, Jag50 and Supernannny - they all have found this cache before so I was on my own. Merlot58 accompanied me and tut-tutted when I looked in the wrong place, and looking across I saw the container and could squirrel myself in there. At the moment my hand is a bit pakaru so I had to get in the right position to get the cache out but managed it find. Normals will have no problem. Thanks for the cache, all good here.
We are in Waihi for two nights We will do some hikes in the area.
This afternoon, visit the small park.

Thanks nzkites for the geocache [^]

We were in the area over Labour weekend to up our numbers for the year. Caching today with Stik-a-crane, purply, darthcacher1, eir-ot - logs signed as SEAC Labour or similar to save space on the logs (SEAC are a group of cachers from South and East Auckland who often take caching adventures together). A nice quick find here today. So much birdlife on the nearby pond
Down for the day caching the area with a group, consisting of HeMaLuDy, EIR-0T, Darthcacher1, and Purply.
Given we were a group we logged in as SEAC Labour, or SEAC Labour day to save logbook space.
Picking up the last few driveby caches in the area.
Thanks for bringing us here.
TFTC.

#4829. 5 of 9 for today.
[Sincere apologies for the delayed logging. Life ... a global pandemic ... and life got in the way. Better late than never.]
**Cache Specific Log**
Came to the Gilmour Preserve for the Memorial and grabbed this cache while here.
**Generic Trip Log**
A wedding anniversary to celebrate - provides a convenient excuse for a longer than usual vacation. So 3 weeks and travel to Australia and New Zealand sounds like an excellent plan. General itinerary is as follows:
2 October: Depart from home with a layover in Houston, TX
4 October (long flight + time zones = lost day): Arrive in Sydney
4-7 October: Sydney
7-15 October: New Zealand South Island
16-21 October: New Zealand North Island
21-23 October: Sydney
23 October: Fly home through Vancouver, Canada
Saw a ton and had an absolutely wonderful time. Can't wait to make it back here!

The weather was not on our side, so we decided to go for a drive with the hope of finding a break in between the clouds further north. We semi-succeeded, and found a few more for the day between rain. The park was quite busy around lunch time in spite of the weather!! Everyone was parked up nearby when we arrived, but they left by the time we had a walk around. TFTC!!
In Waihi for the weekend with Supernanny and Jag50. A local muggle told us where to look as he’s often seen catchers looking for it
Staying in Waihi for the weekend with Merlot58 and Supernanny, we were staying nearby so were able to walk to Gilmour park and collect the caches in the park. As we admired a painted rock near GZ, a muggle walking his dog (who lived nearby) pointed us in the direction of the cache.
Wow what a surprise to find a Protea. Beautiful Bush from the Fynbos family. TFTC.

Found as a part of a previous group TanjackMüley, aka WanderingSparrow. Now I'm continuing on my own. TFTC
A squeeze to receive one we got the correct location. Now to quickly find the other caches in the rain. Thanks got the cache.
Came to look at the memorial here as a relative of my neighbor was a tunneller in WWI. Photographed the memorial and thought I would collect geocache while I was here. TFTC.

This was a test of our stealth as there were a lot of muggles coming and going.
Mr Coblet dived into the bushes when there was an opportune moment and emerged when Mrs Coblet gave the all clear.
We went for a walk around the park afterwards and it truly is a hidden gem. Some awesome sculptures too. Thanks nzkites.

Muggles passengers eating passion fruit bought roadside so I grabbed a couple of caches! Tyfc
This is a muggle-intensive spot and a middle-aged person diving into the shrubbery can look a little odd so our new pup Meg was a massive help. Oh dear, her ball seems to have rolled into the bushes - better go and get it! We took the cache to the car to do the admin, them returned where found. TFTC - good to tick this one off.
Exactly where the clue said it would be —-just getting to it was the more difficult part. Thanks for bringing us here.
22406 Traveling through New Zealand to see nice people and places. Also to find some geocaches.
Today we were went from Whakatane to Pauanui along the seaside, seeing nice places and visiting caches, along the road. on both sides. Crossing the road is not always safe. We visited the nice town Katikati to see all the drawings on the walls and to walk a part of the Katikati Haku trail with 4 caches.
At arrival we walked through the town to see the shops/streets, and cactch some caches near the motel.
Most caches were found quite quickly. A few took more time. Several were with waterproof paper, but our stamp and pen do not work that good on such paper, where when it was wet paper it logs fantastic.
nzkites TFTC and the fun it brought us. Theo

Decided to stop at the lakes to get the 3 caches in the area. This one was an easy find to start the walk. TFTC.
Gathering a few caches with Vamber on our way to the Mount. Had to check out the pond and ducks while some muggles ate their lunch by GZ, luckily it was a quick lunch break for them so we could start searching. Coordinates looked out for us, considering there was no hint item there. Went to the hint and soon found the cache
Nice spot. Power Workmen nearby but not looking when retreiving cache. Several muggles enjoying this spot also, as well as the prerequisite ducks etc. TFTC
Huntsman2015 found this one of his favourite GZs.. mainly due to the slide and that we let him out of the car cache was easy to find but I'm sure eyebrows were raised when I emerged from the depths... right to someone getting into their car ...
I'm on a rare solo drive down to meet up with the other Tregonnings in Tauranga, so taking the opportunity to make a few stops en route. Quick find after my lunch break. Thanks!
Last day in BOP before heading back to Wellington. Mum was headed to the coromandel for the day for work so I hopped in the car to join her. Last stop on the way back to Tga. Found quickly as nobody around but would be a challenge on a weekend or after school!
Yeah! Found it! 2nd time lucky. There was a lady on her phone close to the stash. Had to be VERY sneaky going in and as soon as I'm done... she leaves.
This was another one of T2A-R. Need 6 more in this series. Thanx!

The weather was supposed to be good, so I planned a camping trip to Whakatane for one night.
I stopped here to get another one in the T2A-R series. I really liked the detail on the sculpture, so it wasn't just a ruse to throw off the ubiquitous muggles. TFTC.

26/05/18 12:00 Quick stop as it’s freezing but it’s always dark & cold when I usually go past. Thanks for this, well but logically hidden. Cheers, GC.
Edit: Had date 26/06/17 for some fat-fingered freezing cold reason... But I was definitely enroute to Whitianga on the correct date of 26 May 2018, which is when I found it...

Thought it’d be quiet after 6 as it was getting dark but more cars kept appearing. Quick look didn’t produce results ... this time
