Searched for an hour... no success. Cords are too dodgy so it can be anywhere. And as the camo apparently is very good we stopped the search. Will be back other time!
Found this one with Bennett24 and I must admit I was glad they were there as it's possible I might still be out there otherwise. Some pretty cunning camo here. Got it in the end and signed the cache, replaced and headed along the path. Well done and thanks for the cache.
Didn't feel the wind blowing as we walked out along the path but once at GZ it certainly made it presence felt. Read previous logs and knew not to cross to the wrong side. Kiwiscot was the finder of the well camoed hidden in plain sight cache. Very nicely done. As the rain started scottie opted a run for the car whilst kiwi and kiwiscot bravely moved on to the next cache. TFTC NZTravellers.
A lovely sunny winter's day spent caching around Maraetai and Beachlands. Time for just a few more in this park which we have not explored before. We enjoyed our walk around the point. We spotted the camo for this one, but did not initially think it was the cache, so kept searching. It wasn't until we returned to this spot that one of us picked it up to check. Yep, had us fooled - there's the container. TFTC
Anniversary weekend saw us head to Omana for a few days of camping and caching with KirsTim and yorkshirekiwi83. Today we headed for a couple of caches out in Beachlands in the sweltering heat. This took way longer than it should have, as it blends in very nicely! Great camo job, thanks for the hide.
Anniversary weekend and we decided to copy last year and head back to Omana Regional park campsite with Vamber & Yorkshirekiwi83. Today we tackled Beachlands area and it was stinking hot so glad to be popping in and out of the car. We took waaaaay longer than we should have with this one. One of the party had already found it but couldn't recall the cache so ready out previous logs. We set about searching in the hot sun, and with 4 of us we covered quite a large area. Finally we got the found it shout. Thankful to finally find it and get out of the sun Signed the log as KKKT. Thanks
This one took a little while longer than the last; co-ords were a little in the middle but kept gravitating back to the closest spot after checking several areas. Found the cleverly hidden cache after about 10 minutes. All in good shape here. TFTC.
its still there, took me a while to spot it when I did a health check 2 days ago, but it definitely is there!!
Searched fencelime for 10 mins or so. Did not climb over as description said it was not needed but have a feeling it may be down the embankment a bit more
My wife found this one a while back while doing a clean up. Have just never got round to logging it. I had a cache hear a few years ago.
When you said cammoed you really meant it didn't you? After several minutes of toing and froing I eventually spotted it. Nuff said. TFTC
I was drawn initially to something similar close by, investigating that without luck my eye was next drawn to the correct place.

I also found this cache completely exposed right on the ground. It is now in a better hiding spot. TFTC.
Out and about with TF and we found 30+ caches today with no DNF's. This was very exposed and wonder if it was found by the people who did the recent renovations in the area. Replaced where we felt it belonged and applied some extra camo. TFTC
This area is changing very quickly. I remember finding a cache a little further down the bank a while ago. Thanks.
We were on the point of despair, when one clever member of the group made the breakthrough. Tftc
This one had us going! 7 pairs of eyes searching and searching and we were beginning to think we might have our 2nd dnf in a row when RustyNZ found the clever camo'd cache. Whew! Signed as Team H
Joined in with rebel98, Ric1942, Aiden29, merlot58, supernanny and jag50 to find a few nearby caches. This one was very elusive, and with the new fence and changes at GZ was thinking the cache was gone, long gone!
But when I moved to another spot, thought to myself maybe? and it was
Brilliant camo, that almost had these westies fooled! another fun cache found today.

I was keen to wander up and get the caches up by this point here today ... So I soon rustled up a keen group ....
8 of us were hunting unsuccessfully here for some time . ( Already a little down after no find at Kelly's Bridge )
Nearly on point of calling it , after we thought we had searched all possible places .... when rustynz called out the magic words " Found It ! "
Love this most ingenious hide ! A favourite from me !
Thankyou NZTravellers !!!!!!

I was with a large group of cachers today, Team H (for Helen) true Westies cachers, hardcore to the bone, several others were here too. A walk to this cache ensued while a few of us attended to the Gorby cafe which remained open all day! Now THAT's service, especially on a Sunday! Had a great chat with harisree family about being trapped in earthquakes, tsunami's etc when the next day that's what hit the South Island again!
A large group of us had joined up to try and locate this cache. Having got here we needed every pair of eyes to try and locate it. Fortunately RustyNZ found the well camo'd cache and we were all able to sign in as Team H.
Was out with supernannny, merlot58, rebel98, Ric1942, rustynz and Jag50 to find a few nearby caches. We spent quite awhile searching for this very tricky find. Distracted by a few red herrings until Rusty clicked to the sneaky hiding place. FP
We were lamenting the fact we were unable to make it to the mega event this weekend so decided to spend a few hours caching in the area to make ourselves feel better.
This was the first one we looked for and it initially had us stumped. Our search was made even more difficult by the many muggles out walking requiring us to stop and admire the view every time one wandered by.
But eventually our perseverence paid off and the very well hidden cache was located. Such great camo that we could easily have overlooked.
We were soon on our way again with our geosenses at full power. TFTC

repairs in progress and relocating due to heavy spraying and gorse removal at GZ. Will reinstate soon.
Took some finding not sure it is where it should be due to recent upkeep of the area. But we got there thanks to the gps. Thanks.
We were on a mission today to get to 4000. It was a slow start with a dnf. After some time we realised the error of our ways and got back within the fenced area and amazingly made a find. Great camo. Enjoyed our walk, great long walkway. SL. TFTC.
Good camo, although it has come unstuck. Exactly where the gps said. Nice and easy, TFTC
Didn't find it. It is our second day, so we will try another time. We found a bottle of cider however hidden behind a post!
In the area today for kids football and to visit muggle friends we are trying to convert to geocachers! Made a nice quick find here avoiding the gorse and maybe by fluke! Nice camo, Tftc
Caching around Beachlands today. Such a nice sunny day to be out. I have looked for this one previously without sucess. A nice quick find today. First time I have seen one of these.
Finally, finally, finally found it. Can't believe how hard I have made this and why I haven't been able to find on previous attempts. The dastardly green dot taunting me everytime I open the geocaching app is finally converted to a smiley face.
What a great spot. Clever little cache that was found without too much hassle. Thank you.

Thanks to all for helping us out with finding and maintaining this cache, we have moved it to a less prickly location, as per the cache page, this is accessible from within the fence line, so no need to go near the cliff. Happy Caching!!
The cache wasn't at the coordinates and it did require going over the fence to get it, luckily there was a perfect sized hole in the fence to squeeze through so I didn't have to risk getting myself caught on the barbed wire or fight through the masses of gorse . I moved the cache slightly (only about 1m) back toward the coordinates and where it can be reached without having to go over the fence, hope that's ok. Love the camo and the view from GZ! TFTC!
Out with some caching buddies for the evening (Sherlock the Puppy and Socialbizguy), with the mission being to find all of the Beachlands caches.
I was looking forward to coming to find this one, as it is owned by friends This is really a lovely area, and we had a nice walk up to GZ. Once at GZ though, things got a little prickly..... man, that gorse is nasty!!! We poked and prodded for a while, even wandered to a couple of other nearby spots that looked like they would hide a cache well, but no joy.
I had no choice but to message the CO's, who were aware of our presence in Beachlands tonight, and luckily responded very quickly! They very kindly gave us a couple of hints, but still no joy..... until Sherlock the puppy decided to (very carefully) go over the fence (PLEASE don't do this, future finders!!!! It's not necessary anymore!!!) Once on the other side, he was able to reach further than we had previously, and turned up the cache, buried in the depths of the gorse!!!!
Looked like it had succumbed to cache creep, as there would have been no way we would have been able to reach it from the other side of the fence, without go-go-gadget arms and getting torn to pieces by the gorse!!!
We notified the CO's who requested that we put it back where we had found it, and they would come and check it, and return it to it's rightful place!!!
TFTC NZTravellers, and for all your help with this cache!!! Glad it wasn't lost... it's very cool, and very deserving of a fave point!!!

After a extensive hunt through the gorse we found it Very cool cache. Thanks
After finding the close by Dino's evilno9 and I decided to have some more adventures in the area. Searched the area for a while to find the well camouflaged geocache. TFTC
Wandering around with alpenmilch80 this afternoon and grabbing a few caches along the way. Had a small matter of testing her new cachemobile first which thankfully performed a lot better than our last outing, which meant we could get on with the cache hunting. Took a little bit of looking to find that one thing that wasn't quite right and the crafty cache was soon in hand. Very nicely done, TFTC
Wow, went straight to it today after spending ages here back in November last year. Nicely done, TFTC!
The cache 6 probably made this harder to find. It was right where the GPS said it was.
Have checked this cache and everything is in good order. The Gorse has grown somewhat over the summer but it's still possible to reach this cache without getting prickles!! Good Luck!
Found ... Mrs McMike2012 & I were heading over towards Beachlands & thought we'd stop and do a cache or two. Took a little bit find this one ... impressed with the camo ... get's a favourite point from me. Found & quickly replaced. TN:LN:SL. TFTC. #855 for us.
Only took 2 today to find. Helped by Molly who was very keen on her favourite toy again. TFTC!!!
Was out with a bunch of other weirdo's...I mean geocachers.
I had found this one, so took a few photos of them hunting...it was fun to watch

Been out and redone cache container.
Looking all good when rechecked right under the noses of muggles having a late evening picnic!
Go for it guys!

Was in the area with some other cachers prior to the movie in the park tonight. This one had most of us stumped for a while before the clever camo was spotted and the cache was found. However as it was being returned the camo came off so is in need of reattachment . Have placed it back in its spot carefully for CO to find.
Thanks for bringing us here.
Thanks for bringing us here.
Keylev had organised a group of us to meet in this area and find some caches before having takeaways and watching a movie in the park at Maraetai in the evening. After meeting at the regional parks carpark down the road we decided to drive in convoy around some of the beachlands caches.
We just got to this park just as a brief shower started, didnt stop us from finding the 3 caches that were in here though. This one was a tricky little hide, but well cameod, TFTC

Out with a group today ... makes it fun and interesting to cache with different people both adults and kids children..TFTC
Caching today with a group collecting caches in Beachlands prior to the movie in the park at Maraetai. Love the camo here. Thanks for a great cache.
This was hard to find and mum kept telling me to be careful of the wire as it was sharp.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
HOORAY . . . . with a little help from a friend, we found it, we found it!!! TFTC
Sorry but no luck here for us today lots and lots of thriving gorse bushes and we didn't have gloves on us
7th and final find of the night for us, nice little hide, managed to stay out of the prickles! TFTC.
Got a bit stuck here looking for this cache. Stayed as long as we dared as the footpath was extremely busy with muggles and dogs and that was early on a Sunday morning! So we walked away and asked for a tip. On our return walk we found the cache quickly because it was lying on the ground, but discarded under natural cover. Thinking it wasn't quite where it was meant to be, scouted around and oh, thats where it should have been - made more sense. So replaced cache as intended and informed CO, yep we had returned it ok. Great camo. TFTC, the views and the lovely flowering pohutukawas.
This one drove me a little mad! (which in my case isn't that hard).
Approached GZ, looking looking looking. Thought I was using my male sight to begin with...started using my hands and kept on getting attacked by the gorse bush...would recommend gloves for this one....or was it that my soft manly hands were not tough enough. I asked for another hint from the CO, as I was tired and in pain....the hint didn't help me that much...but eventually I found the little rascal!

Found I had a bit of spare time today and decided to ring a friend to see if she wanted to come along to find a couple of caches that have had us stumped. Well it is a good thing I brought her along as she provide to be very good at finding..... Thanks NZtravellers for the extra hint. It still took as a little while but we did it. Very pleasant afternoon spent chatting and geocaching
We spent ages here looking for this one! Theres lots of gorse around the area the GPS is pointing and i got a few thorns in my fingers. Resorted to the TAF option which gave us a few more hints but we couldn't spot anything at the level we were told to look. I'd suggest this one needs checking. At least its an excuse to come back another time
After finishing up work down south this afternoon I decided that some caching was in order. In with the great sunny if cool weather a trip into the country and along the coast seemed just the ticket. I was not wrong and was rewarded with some great views today. This hide had me going for a few minutes but then I spotted something and thought, could it be, and it was. I remember finding a cache a few metres from here some years back now. Cheers for the cache placement!
Great location with the moon cresent dimly lighting the sky...
Saw that someone had attempted this whilst I was driving to location and missed the cleaver hide.
Haven't seen one like this before so will be getting a favourite. FTF#8 for team stik-a-crane.
