Despite the weather forecast and the rain radar predicting rain, rain and more rain, we set off on a day trip to Katikati, with the occasional detour to find some caches, of course. It was dry when we left Tauranga, but we hadn't gone far before the drizzle started. That necessitated a slight change of plans (any walks of more than 5 minutes were now off the agenda) but we still managed to find 21 caches.
We found this while walking around the town, looking at the murals for the multi. No problems with muggles, the weather meant no one was mooching around here. TFTC.

We left Tauranga for travelling to the Coromandel Peninsula with a lot of caches on the way. Thanks
Thanks for the cache. I found it on 24/02/16 at 10:41 AM. Nice stop on the way from Waihi to Whakatane. Pretty little park.
#9996, Found it with DroidCachebox!
We visited this cache during our trip through out New Zealand!
With our rental car, we explored the north island for 12 days.
NZ is a beautiful country and we really enjoyed our time here.
We hope to return one day and explore a little bit more!
Day 7 - Rotorua to Auckland
Today the weather was pretty bad, it rained all day.
Since we had to travel to Auckland anyway, we tried to use the short periods without rain to find some caches on the way, we managed to visit some interesting locations.
Thanks for the cache.
Greetings from Portugal.

We found this cache during our drive towards Auckland.
The hint was spot on, and the cache found quickly.

On our way to Waihi and a quick stop to pick up this cache, muggles on the wall watching us.TFTC
Having found the multi cache we walked back along the Haiku path to the market and discovered we had already been with 2 or 3metres of this one while doing the murals trail. Soon found it. TFTC
This cache was one of the many caches we found on our 6 day campervan journey from Tauranga to Lower Hutt via Waihi, Cambridge, New Plymouth and along the west coast to Wanganui and back to the Hutt. A mighty and enjoyable journey which took us to many great and iconic parts of the north island and of course some great geocaches. Many thanks to the many CO's for the great cache placements and for bringing us to so many new places. Sorry about the generic log but 200 plus to log. TFTC
Thanks for replacing this cache - a nice quick find on our way from Tauranga through to Whangamata this morning. Haven't been in this area for years so it was nice to pick up a smiley here. TFTC
Quick find on the way to the airport in Auckland to catch a flight home to the UK, SL, TFTC.
Nice and dry, but nit a clean sheet. Neat place. This one is a wrap. Mission accomplished TFTC! Blenheim Bear

My mother and I were heading home after having brunch with the family in Bethlehem and we decided we needed a break from all the traffic so we stopped in Katikati. This cache was a quick and easy find. Tftc.
We called to check this after a couple of DNF and we could not find it either so will disable for now. If you need the code for the bonus cache please email us.
Quick find on way to Pukekawa thanks to the clue no one out and about tonight .

Extreme stealth was required today as its market day! Great quick find for the kids, shark taken, domino given. Thanks!
#7120. Parked off Main Road in Katikati this afternoon for a short walk and grab. The area was pretty busy when we visited, and maximum stealth was deployed. Thanks for the very specific hints for a super quick find. Took the cache some distance away for signing before return and replacement. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside.

On a way to catch up with some friends so we thought we would get this one off our list and drop off a TB at the same time

On our way home to the north from visiting family in Tauranga, good spot to stop and check out the walks and cache while we were there. Will gradually pick up all the series and clues. Nice quick find thanks. TFTC
Mr & Mrs M-SEZ are visiting from Australia. We've left the geokids back home and are enjoying our New Zealand Anniversary-moon. Day 4 today and we're driving around the Coromandel Peninsula. What better way to enjoy our trip than to grab some caches along the way?
Enjoyed the walk and made a quick find. Left a Travel Bug. TFTC

Youngest daughter found, thanks for the nice spot to stop and enjoy the view
I was staying at Tanners Point with Bookclub and some of us came to check out Katikati. We parked SO close to this that it seemed rude not to. Tui10 went in for a quick find. It was only then that I realised it was a T2A-R one, just in time to note the bonus number.
We then took a stroll along the haiku walk (not the first time).
Below is the timely haiku that caught our eye this time.

Easy to find but difficult to replace as there were so many people around! We enjoyed the haiku walk after a stroll around the shops.
Tftc. A quick grab and retrieve today while noone was in the area. Returning it was a bit more of a challenge as muggles turned up to admire and photograph nearby murals. When they turned around to look at another mural, we acted quickly and cache was quickly returned to its hiding spot and covered appropiately.
Thanks again for a nice easy grab. Could see it walking up to it. Please cover up with some natural cover people!!
Easy find, a tad too easy, could see it from a way away, tried to cover it a little bit on replacing. thank you!
Quick and easy find no one noticed us was a good time to do the end of the series witg Drulisa. Tftc
Had a lovely walk, found it. Lots of Muggles! Not a lot in this one so topped it up!

Checked this today and it had gone. Replaced with new container and logbook.
We will update co-ords when able, but new GZ is very close to original. Hint also changed.

On a geocaching holiday in the area.
Nice fairly quick find here.
SL Thanks for the fun!

SL Thanks for the fun!
A quick pickup and then a walk down to the river, enjoying the poetry along the way. TFTC.
Part of the T2A series, one of my travelling companions rustynz pulled us over (me with Rebel98 and supernanny) to this cache. I have been here before in Katikati many times, long before I got into geocaching, I think I have photographed every mural here! No mean feat I can tell you! But tonight, and it was dark by now, we all pulled up, the co-ords led us to a mural but I could see a tree appropriate for a cache and soon had the thing in my hand. Just as a joke rusty took fotos of me with Rebel 'massaging' a woman in a bath (see mural fotos we took) we all got a laugh over that!!
Heading towards Tauranga this morning and stopping for a few T2A-R caches along the way. We have long enjoyed driving through Katikati and seeing all the murals. TFTC.
Headed over this was with Kiwis69 to head to a certain birthday rave in a cave. We set off from Hamilton just on dark and grabbed some caches on the way to fill in time
Made this one a bit harder and parked further away than we could of. Got a nice walk none the less and got to see what happens in Katikati after dark. A quick find while hidden out of sight of the muggles

Found this today with Auckland geocaching mates after attending two events !!!
Great fun ...
Always love the murals round here !!!

Its getting dark now, but we could still see the murals, but sadly my camera could not pick up the images. The GPS seemed to be little out for us, this seemed to be no problem for Gorby, who found the cache almost straight away. Again it must be all those night caching missions he does!
Another number collected, we hopefully will collect the bonus on our travels back to Auckland tomorrow? Again thanks for the hide and the adventure [;D]

Taking a circuitous route from Hamilton with 11hpg11 so that we can have a few hours' child-free caching binge on our way to a geocaching birthday rave in cave. Less chance of muggles at this hour too and good fun to test the caching senses in the dark. Followed the sat-nav a bit too literally here but that worked to our advantage in being able to reach GZ without being spotted by those who were clearly enjoying Katikati's nightlife. Thankfully a nice quick find & we were on our way again. Cache all good, TFTC
Checked on this today while doing a cache maintenance run, all ok but a bit exposed, please leave the cache well covered when you replace it, thanks.
Amazing town with all the murals and statues - and here in Tauranga we can't even get Hairy MaClary onto the Strand! I think I have still have many more of these to find so I'd better keep going. TFTC, can't wait to finish it.
Took the opportunity to do part of the walkway even though I couldn't quite get all of the poems... TFTC
Also doing the Ak- Tauranga - Ak run so great to have some caches to do along the way. Thanks for the cache.
As we arrived at the GZ, we noticed a few young muggles looking slightly suspicious, so we quickly grabbed this one and moved on. TFTC.
After our State Sand to Surf ocean swim event at The Mount yesterday, it was time to head back home to Auckland - but of course we had to grab a few caches on our way back.
A nice quick find for us, while trying to be subtle around teen muggles walking about.
This series sounds like an interesting one and we managed to pick up a few on our way home. Will have to make sure we find the remainder of them at some stage when we are next down BOP way

This place was so busy with locals for a Thursday! Eventually we got a gap in people and very quickly grabbed it!
Nice quick find. Off for a feed now. Never actually stopped in kati kati before. It's nice to walk around. TFTC.
