Decided to make this the end of our walk this evening before turning back to get the car and grab some dinner. Luckily this one wasnt as hard as the others and we made a much quicker find.

Took a bit of a search, that and with 2 DNF it does make you think it could be gone!
Ended up checking out the flax bush next to the hint item I started with and there it was!

A nice quick find. I used all 3 items in the title as I had to read the logs, then go back to the car for a pen, AND a new lid for the container as I couldn't find the original. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off on our annual pilgrimage to Auckland to visit family. Today we cruised around the Hamilton area for a bit. The thunder rattled occaissionally and the rain teemed down at one stage.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

Run/walk/cache day today from Fonterra to the perry bridge. Wet and humid! Took way too long to find this one. Tunnel vision based on the hint. Found it in the end.
Day out along the Te Awa on our bikes with TEAM SEAC after a prior rained-out mission. Lovely day hanging with fab friends and finding some caches along the way. TFTC
Today we set out as a Team SEAC group to bike the Te Awa riverside bike trail on a lovely Saturday morning. After getting rained out on a previous attempt to do this ride we finally got a sunny spring day to do the Ngaruwahia to Hamilton Gardens leg. It took us about 5 hours to do approx. 34km with plenty of geocaching and lunch along the way.
We were sure starting to perspire about now on this ride. CAche found. TFTC!

A group of like minded people had been motivated by Mrs NZTravellers to cycle the river trail from Ngaruawahia to The Hamilton Gardens...it had been postponed before and today was the day, and the weather looked good to support a fun day full of adventure and crazyness......
Dropped bikes and gear at Ngaruawahia and headed down to the gardens where we were to drop off a car for the return drive, and then headed back....
We were met by others, which meant we were ready to set off.
And we showed all the titled 'P' words to get this done today...
Signed in as SEAC to save logbook space and onto the next.....

Was out with Team SEAC on another adventure. Riding this route was in the making for a while but due to weather conditions, we had to put it off another month, till today!
A little while ago Mrs NZTravellers suggested we have a day out to ride this trail...unfortunately the original date that was planned had really rough weather so this was the alternative date. A group of around 12 of us turned up and off we went. It was a usual Team SEAC outing with adventure, laughter and a few mishaps along the way!
Well we had persistence and perseverance to find the cache....I wasn't perspiring as much as others but as a group we had all the 'P's'.
Took a few moments to locate as we found it next to another specimen rather than the one noted in the hint but we got there in the end.
Thanks for the cache.

A sizeable group of Team SEAC had decided to bike the first stage of the Te Awa Bike Ride from Ngaruawahia to the Botanical Gardens in Hamilton. This was our second attempt, as some particularly nasty weather thwarted our previous attempt before we even got started. Luckily, today the weather played ball and we enjoyed a pleasant day's bike ride along the mighty Waikato River.
Sorry that I am not able to post my usual stories about each and every cache that we came across, but I am too buggered after the ride. So generic logs it is this time. We still appreciate all the work that goes into the caches that we found, and thank the COs for planting the caches along this lovely track. We really enjoyed the bike ride and the caching.
The log was signed as Team SEAC, or just SEAC to preserve log space.

Out with members of Team SEAC cycling the Te Awa Bike trail. Awesome day out and a total of 34kms! Thanks for placing this cache and getting outside on our bikes
A few months ago Mrs NZT suggested a cycle ride from Ngaruawahia to the Hamilton Gardens. Our first attempt was postponed due to bad weather. So today a group of us from Team SEAC finally got to do the planned outing. It ended up being 34kms, taking nearly 5 hours, involved lots of laughs, and getting a good number of caches along the way. Several sets of eyes were needed to make the find here. It was not at the first location searched so the search area was increased and the container was then spotted. Log signed Team SEAC to save space on the log. TFTC.
Went to replace cache after getting an email from reviewers, and cache was in the first place I looked.
Had several long looks and scratched around here...but my persistence did not pay off sadly.
Found while on a cycle ride down the river today.
We have been forced to stay with relatives as there is an Akld lockdown due to Covid 19. We hope to be on our way North again soon.
Took a bit of fossicking in the flax. TFTC

Day 31 of my TA adventure and a casual walk into the city grabbing a few along the way..

A long walk to this one but a nice cool morning. Straight forward find. Thank you.
Found this on our te araroa thru-hike (headed south). Beautiful section of trail here!
Had to wait for the cyclists to disappear before retrieving the cache.
It all took a bit longer than planned due to child falling off a bicycle.
(Fortunately the child was not seriously hurt.)

After a bit of rummaging and head scratching we found the cache on the ground near the hint item. We have put it back where it belongs tucked in tightly so it should stay in place.
Nice spot. TFTC.

I'm slowly chipping away at these Hamilton caches and anytime is a good time for another raid - even in the rain! Mc Jandals was the only one crazy enough to join me as I plowed through a fairly specific bunch of trads, multis and solved puzzles. A neat little walk here to help pump up our step count. This cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to a straight forward hint and placement. Cheers kiwiteachernz & TFTC
On another Waikato mission. What better way to spend a rainy day. I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing us here. Cheers
Actually found it on the 4th, (five days ago), but forgot to log it! Pretty well camouflaged, good work.
I was over for the weekend visiting family and managed to persuade my sister in law to vary her early morning dog walking route so that we could go together and pick up some caches along the way.
This area has certainly changed a lot since I lived in Hamilton 28 years ago.
We parked up near by and this was the first cache along the way.
The bridge was our turn around point, and we managed to get here without any whining and whinging, although our team consists of 2 adults and a dog, so it would have been very sad if we'd had any complaining!!!! Although the return trip did not go without incident!
There were quite a few muggles coming and going by this time, so we had to wander past GZ and return to it. When the coast was clear, it was a quick dive in, grab and sign.
Job done, it was time to head back to the car.
Thanks for making for an interesting walk this morning kiwiteachernz

#521. Mr Northwood had to get up early to drop one of the junior Northwoods at a friend's house for a sports trip. So he decided to make good use of the early start (and avoid the heat later).
It was early, so after parking near GC56F0T, I decided to walk along to this cache and do the series in reverse and let the sun come up.
Great walk, never actually been on this part of the path before. Only saw two cyclists. There were a few likely spots, but made a pretty quick find. The log bag is very hard to do up and has a hole in the other end anyway. TFTH.

A beautiful stretch along the Waikato River with enough caches to keep the kids walking and engaged.
The Freezer Mice strike again!!!
Took the kids out for a bike along the river path, and coaxed them into it with the promise of some caching along the way.

Decided to get the bike out and head over to do some bike trails and few other caches in the northern area. The weather was beautiful and I loved the nice path and great bridges. Thanks to the COs for some great cache placements. TFTC
We chose to spend our first day of the year bike riding but one of our collection of 3 bikes had the brakes partly jammed on, so although the terrain was brilliant, it still took me Persistence, Perseverance, Perspiration
This cache didn't however. We had no problems with this find. Tftc

Pazza2 invited me to join them and start off the New Year with a cycle ride on this very cool cycle way. The perspiration was starting but we didn't need too much persistence or perseverance to find this cache
As I made my way to this one I already had a fair idea where it would be. Sure enough. As I make my way back to path the older lady that had seen me early walks past. Another strange look. Tftc
The cache was slightly out of place so I returned it to a more secure location. TFTC.
LOVED reading the description for this one! Excellent hint helped us find the cache really quickly which was just as well because it suddenly got dark really quickly. This ended up being our last cache for the day since I'm a big scaredy cat and don't like the dark very much... 'The Mr' liked it though cause it made me want to hold his hand all the way back to the car! TFTC and all the fun along this trail. Will be back to get the last couple another time.
Out enjoying a lovely bike ride and yahoo some nice cache finds along the way.
Out for a bike ride with Tinytree on this newly completed section of bike trail. We rode from Meadow View Lane to Ngaruawahia Golf course and then turned around and picked up all the caches on the way back. This is a beautiful ride and we really appreciated the effort that has gone into creating it and look forward to doing other sections some day.
The perspiration was up as it was getting hot now but we persevered and cache came to hand fortunately without requiring too much persistence, TFTC.

Out for a walk along the walkway today and decided to pick up a few caches. Mostly nice easy pickups which speeds it along! Needed the hint for this one, TFTC
12.05pm. The last one for me so now I have to walk back to the car. A favourite point for a really nice walk.
Thank you. David.
Thank you. David.
Headed out for a bike ride and caching trip with Master 11, planning on getting all the caches between Pukete and Horotiu.
After a DNF at our previous stop, perseverance paid off at this point

It couldn't have been more obvious what I was up to, good thing the cyclists are few and far between today! Which is surprising, it's such a fantastic day.
171 Made this my last one before I turned around and went back. Nice and simple which was good as I had a few to get on the return journey and it is getting a little showery. TFTC
