So glad I made the diversion from the Bibbulmun to find this cache. This is an interesting stretch of river. TFTC
Today the geocaching plan for Taurus Six and myself was to clear up some outstanding caches around the Collie area. There are several out that way that have been on our radar for quite a while and we have just not gotten around to getting them. We decided to head there via Australind where we note a new cache had been published recently and an old cache had been replaced. We headed out quite early , although the sun was up. We really enjoyed our walk out onto the Australind jetty before heading to Collie via Raymond Road. The caches we were focusing on in Collie were all in lovely bush setting, many need a short walk to get to which was the highlight of the day, they weather was winter perfect and the bush is so nice at this time of year. All in all a great day of geocaching was had, ten cache finds and about 6 kms of walking. This was our seventh cache find of the day. We drove along the track to get as close to gz as possible. We then walked the last few hundred metres which was very pleasant bird life everywhere also a few too many over friendly ants , need to keep an eye out. Once at gz we soon had cache in hand. Once signed and replaced we made our way over to the weir which was in full flow with the recent rains. Very interesting area. Thanks for the cache find Chantelle Renee .
WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 45 - Collie day. It rained all night and it rained on and of fall day. I spent lots of time in the car waiting for rain to ease and way too much time running back to the car as the rain got too heavy. I am rally impressed by the ground drainage, some of the dirt tracks I went on were great despite all the rain. It was a difficult day, A few more DNFs than I would have like, but I did get to visit quite a few very interesting places and the tourist drive along the river was amazing. In the end I just went home and cooked dinner and watched TV, a bit unusual for me on a trip.I managed to find a rail down to the river near here. Surprisingly not slippery, and I walked the last few hundred meters. The cache was found without any problems. Thanks for the cache chantelle_renee47643.27 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2012 Bottle Opener II A#217**Albida**
Another cache I've found previously with one of the same mates at the time! All is well here. We walked across the wall and threw some rocks as most men would, the skinny part of the wall really put my balance off but I stayed dry. TFTC!
Camped at Potters Gorge & exploring the area, this cache was our next stop... We missed out on this one last time we were here so made sure to stop by this time The kids headed to the river whilst us adults found the cache that was found by me... We then joined the kids in checking out this great spot... Thanks for showing us chantelle_renee & TFTC
Glad I have 4wd car. Phew! Signed the log as EV and thanks for the cache and hunt.
What a gorgeous little surprise near this cache - a weir. I can see why it is called Roberts Rock - just across from the cache is the huge rock. Go past the rock and discover the water don’t just grab this one and move on or you’ll be missing out.

Bit of a questionable track in for me and the lady with a bad back made it in to the cache and managed an easy find. Tftc
It's been a pretty full on weekend so far but all good fun.TFTC chantelle_renee
We were able to plan a road trip to Collie for this weekend and mapped out a few unfound caches down Mandurah way, through Bunbury and some other back roads to fill in the day. This cache was o e we had on our to do list! Cheers and TFTC.

The track was pretty muddy and slushy so walked we walked the last 130m to the cache. A beautiful little spot, thanks for bringing us here.
Road was very wet so we walked in. Lovely spot on the river with the waterfall causing lots of foam. Tftc
A nice quick find! Thank you for bringing us out here! Found with teamlaroche. TFTC
Quick find here on my way to Collie to watch Deefa71 do laps at the Motorplex. Tftc

What an interesting place.
What an interesting place.
Found but still very wet. Original log book pages stuck together but sobering had placed a new log which seems to bit mind the damp so much. Great spot with plenty of water flowing over the rocks/wall today.
Found easily by the kids, book too wet to write in and no pencil. Thanks

Hi there chantelle_renee - after the event at the Potters Gorge Campground last night and a good nights sleep (in the warm at the Caravan Park) we started just a little late looking for some spare batteries and a part for the caravan. After that we headed out with some serious caching in mind with difficulty up to 2.0 and terrain up to 4.5 . All in all a great days caching split in the middle with lunch at a local cafe. Thanks to chantelle_renee for this cache - our find #5743.
Found it while camping in Collie for the weekend.
Easy 4WD, nice quiet spot.

Approached this from the wrong side of the river and with no way to cross drove to the other side fantastic weir great scenery and still a lot of soggy rubbish around log book signed but very very wet. TFTC
Eventually found it, very wet inside, note pad was unusable, real shame about the litter in such lovely spot, river was roaring over the dam wall
Thanks
Thanks
The cache was out in the open and only a notebook and 1 treasure. I think someone found it and just chucked it on the ground. We put it back where we thought it it should be. Its a bit wet.
A little bit of 4x4 fun before we give up the hire vehicle. Shame about the litter scumbags. TFTC
We had to miss the troll under the bridge as too many worker muggles having a smoko break so continued on to this one. As we got close we saw some more muggles had settled in for a picnic however a few more steps behind the cover and we spotted the hide. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC.
Out for a happy arvo with the geokids and geopooch geocaching.
This one we had to be careful as there seemed to be a couple of hippy muggles nearby who were camping. Luckily they were just out of view.
There is a lot of rubbish here unfortunately, it looks like some mongrel has dumped a pile of it.
From this one we followed the road around through the bush to go and find tree stump. Great little 4wd road, would be fun when it's wet

TFTC! A HUGE day out caching up a storm with Cravo10 in the lovely south of this great state of ours, namely in the coal mining town of Collie.
We met up in Pinjarra, and grabbed three of the Multi caches in town, a lovely LKA which provided a nice walk around the historic cemetery and another instalment in the well known and highly regarded Zoom in caches. After completing the multi caches we headed down south west highway grabbing the few remaining caches we had on the highway that are either new or we've missed on previous visits.
We made our way along coalfield highway towards the collie township, completing the Footy Teams series as we went. We encountered some neat camo caches, with all caches being nice quick and easy finds, unfortunately a number of the micro type caches have had a tough winter and need new log books due to water and mould. Still a great series and well put together by blaze169.
We then made our way into Collie, with not much to find around town as we've visited twice before and there doesn't seem to be any active cachers in town anymore to publish new caches which is a real shame.
We went around town collecting stuff on the outskirts of town including wet and wild which we managed to grab in the 4wd and the EArth cache which was a nice addition to the area in a very deserving spot.
We found our way back along the highway to pinjarra after amassing 35 odd finds and a solid days effort, can't wait to come back down this way to complete the ready player one series, the snake island t5 cache and the new caches in Harvey which seems to be booming currently. Until next time, thanks to the local COs for their caches.

TFTH spent the day out with Barnzy12 again today as he had planned a trip to Collie and needed a driver again, let's face it I wanted to come along. We met in Pinjarra and made our way out from there. After completing the AFL series we made a few other finds around the place and after a few hours we then headed back to Pinjarra.
Most were found in good condition TNLN.

What an impressive spot that if not for caching, I probably never would of come to this part of the river. Thanks for bringing me here chantelle_renee. Can't believe no one has given you Fav Point for this cache....so here, have one. Tftc
Nice little spot (apart from the disappointing rubbish scattered throughout the area). Kids loved the weir. TFTC.
I took the first right after the bridge as instructed and followed the power lines along the bumpy track.
Turned right again and found GZ
The cache was soon found with the sounds of rapids in the background [:o]
So a wander to find where the noise was coming from was in order
Oh a weir !!
Well that explains why the Collie River upstream is such a wide and inviting bit of waterway
TFTC.
On the way out, I found the good gravel road that leads almost to the cache

Although it was a very wet day we headed out early this morning to grab some caches around Collie. We completed the Footy series with iluvtrekking then went our separate ways. Can imagine this would be a very busy location in the warmer months but it suited us fine to have no muggles about today. Quick find. Thanks chantelle renee
So many caches out there, waiting to be found. ~Tango~ was up from Albany again and was happy to do spend another day caching, so off we set, heading southwards. We were fast running out of daylight by the time we came out to this one, but we weren't going to leave it behind, especially because of the name of this cache. Was a group of muggles camping near gz, but we still managed to find the cache without them being any the wiser. Loved the weir though - got some beautiful photos. Will definitely come back and visit this spot another time. Thanks for showing us this spot chantelle renee
PS Why is the cache called Robert's Rock??
I found the answer here: http://www.colliemail.com.au/story/2345581/mystery-surrounding-weir/

Well, we just had to visit this one didn't we?
Mistraluna has described the campers on the road. After checking out the weir we moseyed over in their direction to make our way to GZ. Apparently we weren't the first to be trying to get down the road that day, but we were maybe a little more subtle - after all there was bounty to be found. Thanks Chantelle Renee - a great spot
