Logs
Heading into the hills today, there are quite a few solved puzzles I would like to put ink into the logbook. I walked up the hill and should have approached directly from the lower bend, but I didnt. I walked up the track and then back down the slope at the closest point. Nevertheless the cache was found. This one is in sad shape. I have replaced the whole thing with a new container and logsheet. I put some of the remains of the original logsheet down the middle. Everything here in good shape now, ready for the next finder. Thanks for the cache Team skyshowsongs. Find #9579 at 11.26am
Apologies for such a late log, for some reason the Geocaching app is doing all our logs as drafts even though that setting is not checked. Will be changing app.Found @11:25 while doing a 12 km walk around the area.Log not in good condition.TNLN SLTFTC
Strolling around Anstey Hill recreation Park, looking for pieces of paper to sign period this one took me more than five minutes period, even though the coordinates were absolutely spot on period I just failed to check the obvious hide location with more than a cursory search period but Gallaughers now signed
Out with AlisonBorgas74 and our 2 geokids (9 years) for a caching adventure on the last day of the school holidays. This was our second of 8 finds for the day. AB74 geokid was again the one to make this quick find. TFTC
Found with Wayne APN while walking around Ansteys. Accurate coords led to a quick find
Caught up with Mattycat for another tuesday adventures focusing on Ansty hill and some nearby caches, a fun little detour after a false start found a better path to follow for a quick find at GZ with cache still in good condition

Headed out to the foothills for a walk today and it was good to get the legs moving uphill. It was also nice to explore a new area. After getting my bearings I made my way to this cache via a rather circuitous route. Once in the area though it was a straightforward find. TFTC Team skyshowsongs
Found by the Aussie branch of Dobie's Pride and Nick on a gorgeous spring afternoon. TFTC!

Took a hazardous path to GZ, ended up in what we reckon is a roo’s living room. Sorry, buddy.
Left a pen. Couldn’t have done it without cache pal Chloe. TFTC!

Found the cache but definitely agree with previous finders, does need some tlc! Tin is real squashed had to get log out using a stick.
Found. This cache needs some serious TLC . Tin is squashed (but at least it's there thanks to those who put it there). Put official Geocache label in the bag with the log book which I found nearby. Judging by previous pics, this would have been a really cool cache to find. Nice secluded little valley.
Not sure whether to record this needs maintenance??

Made my way along the mtb tracks to this one, a quick find at gz cache is all good
This afternoon seemed like a good time to go for a walk up a anstey hill with the weather being in top notch after a week of rubbish in the sky.
A loop was planned and around I went picking up the caches along the way. Ended up with 11 finds and 3 DNFs.
Thanks for the cache

Today with COVID-19 requirements still in effect, but fitness still being promoted, I decided to head to Anstey Hill Recreation Park for some solo mountain biking. I hadn't ridden here in years (actually I've only ridden once when MTBs were first allowed in Anstey around 2015), and so needed to refresh myself with some of the main riding trails. The plan was to find a few D/T 4.5/3.5 caches to complete my next D/T loop. I parked at the visitor's car park off North East Road, and took a few tracks and trails towards the Ridgetop Track, before riding across, and then taking the "Grand Canyon downhill" track. I then headed west along those peaks/ridges, and took a real sketchy track down (I do recall riding that one before). It just started getting dark as I was near below, and with a few final walks and geocache finds, I was back at the car as the sun started to set. I couldn't believe how many people were about today, probably enjoying fitness whilst trying to maintain social distancing. A nice day out, with a few kangaroos spotted around too.
This was a cache that I found as I was riding the nearby mountain bike track. I "parked" my bike in a suitable spot on the top of the hill, and descended down in my cleats. After a few minutes of looking, I located the cache in question. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Team_skyshowsongs for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Found it with Eye See All, please be mindful of the native animals at this one it seems to be their home
Eye spied, Eye found, Eye logged. Eye left Trinket ... Cache replaced in hiding spot. TFTC!!
Another disappointimg cache with over exagerated difficulty and no effort put into cache
We also found the remnants like the cachers before us. We read through more than a year's worth of logs saying this one needs maintenance. Decided to leave a mint tin (the only container we had with us) so future finders can at least find something and write on a log sheet. Used the hint to hide the mint tin where we think the CO would have hidden the original. Tftc.
Found on a nice afternoon walk with one of the Kettles. It has been destroyed though, we only found the remnants.
Found the remnants of the cache. Stamped our names and put it back as best as we could.

As per found log. All that could be found was the log book, no container. This one needs some CO TLC.
OMG. OMGosh what a memorable find for me !!
Headed to the TTGully Hotel to farewell Pt Lincoln geocacher, Bexta, on her fundraising bike ride from Darwin to Adelaide.
Thought I would find a few nearby caches in Anstey Hill CP. Started off quite tame and very happy just to make some finds. Get to the toughest terrain cache and while contemplating whether I go down the slippery hill or not, hear a lot of bush movement. Those that know me and my snake phobia, will understand how I froze at this moment. My first Echidna !!! It even smiled for the camera.
Then the sirens start, many sirens .... I’m in the wrong shoes, on a goat track with a slippery side, no one knows where I am. Quickly messaged a geo friend my co-ordinates, then braved the terrain and was confronted with 3 kangaroos. One quite a bit larger than the others. Mmm. Get out of there or make the find ? Made the find and got outa there.
On the way back, found at least 4 emergency vehicles helping with a fall. Hopefully everything was ok, nothing on the news so that’s good.
Finished off with afternoon tea meeting an amazing woman, about to start her 2nd “big ride”
And then the biggest brightest red sunseting... what a day ! Thankyou Team_skyshowsongs for one of my most memorable finds.....

Round and round in circles finding the right track in. Last 30 to 50 metres was a bit steep.

A nice cache set-up here with the Blair Witch related stuff
Found and log signed at 11:20 on Sun. 24 June 2018.
Cache and contents are good and dry.
The Blair Witch Project movie really scared me when I saw it in the cinema. The terror in her eyes when she was in the tent [:o]

We made a detour to find this one, but it seems it's quite steep. Considering I still have the little one sleeping on my back, I did not try this cache, although it's about 30 meters away.
We took the slippy dip approach down & were rewarded with the cache & feeding kangaroos! Found with Azza78. TFTC
Another Tuesday Trekking with Mrs. S.A. Sewer Rats. I have been slowly clearing out the caches in and around Ansteys Hill for quite a while now. [:X] Time to get a few from the northern section of the park me thinks.
I am sure there is a much better way of getting to GZ than the one we took. We were walking along a perfect nice fire track when the needle pointed sideways. Mmmm I could see a walking trail about 10 metres away be below us. So we slip-slided our way down to it and walked along that for a bit until the needle pointed sideways again. Again we could see a flat area below us but had to go down a slippery and treacherous slope to get to it. Once down there a quick search and the cache was in hand. And the next cache is.....of course, back on that fire track we were on. Back to the bush bashing then. [:o)]

A good group of caches. Mr 5 was pretty happy with this location, even a near by koala could not distract him from his search.
Cool cache. Took the steep hill down, not much of a path, so created one.
Arrived in the right location, not too many themed artefacts left now, but cache is still cool. Straight forward find after checking two spots.
Thanks for the cache!
