This weekend, an overnighter at Girraween National Park was planned with the aim to tackle Mount Norman. An early start on Saturday had me attend Warwick parkrun and visit Warwick, Leslie Dam, Stanthorpe, and then Girraweeen to walk to Underground Creek. On Sunday, it was a walk/hike through Girraween's south vicinity visiting Mount Norman, Castle Rock, and Turtle Rock, before venturing across the NSW border, and then heading northwards via Ballandean and Stanthorpe, detouring past the *Elementary* series and *Stan's Apple* series.
Today, I joined Beardman75, Davinells, and wayn0, and we spent the morning with a hike in the southern vicinity of Girraween National Park. A tough expedition to Mount Norman's geocache, and after taking a breather with the group and then saying farewell, I continued north via Castle Rock, The Sphinx, and Turtle Rock, thanking the car shuffle for only making my journey a one-way walk. It was then a southern drive towards Tenterfield for a few geocaches, before proceeding back north targeting geocaches with high Favourite Points, in particular the cluster around Fletcher. It was then a detour towards the *Elementary* series, and lastly, I took a few more stops west of Stanthorpe finding a few more of *Stan's Apple* geoart, and completing the [Stanthorpe Art and History](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/99df815e-d7c7-4bde-8575-b2c5ff71d8cc) Adventure Lab, before fatigue and daylight got the better of me, and I proceeded home.
This was another high Favourite Point geocache by wingaap, with recent finders suggesting that this geocache was still in situ. It did look to be a great cache with it having 55 FPs as of the time of my visit.
I parked next to the side of the highway (no safety concerns with pulling over that I could see), and then I walked towards GZ. As it turned out, this cache was still there, and I was actually delighted to see it! Such an awesome and creative build, and I really did think it was a shame that it was archived and hence no longer visited by frequent Geocachers. It looks like ants have gotten through the bottom and built a nest in the inner container, and the logbook was slightly damp, but otherwise, there were no other significant issues to report. Despite this geocache's current archived status, I do want to acknowledge the build, and it nevertheless gets a Favourite Point from me. Thanks wingaap for the cache placement.

After a long anticipated 4 day hike in NSW, that was originally planned for this week, had to be abandoned because of the border closures, Crookedpete, JezNDez and I rearranged the week to start with a hike along the Stretcher Track and end with an extended weekend hiking in Giraween.
Leaving Brisbane early Friday morning to avoid any peak hour traffic, our first stop was for coffee and some breakfast in Warwick before heading on towards Stanthorpe via the back roads in search of a number of unloved caches.
After stopping in town for some lunch we headed off again to gather a number of other caches, before checking in to our accommodation. Settled in, we still had some daylight to burn so headed back out for a few other caches nearby including this one.
The last time I had cached down this road was back in October 2013, prior to placement of this cache. Glad to have the opportunity today to return and find this well designed cache container. Sad to see this one has been archived. TFTC

Queensland border closures put an end to a Bromance extended hiking adventure in Oxley Rivers National Park in NSW. Still needing a break, a Bromance plus weekend trip to Stanthorpe with Seffnjarah, JeznDez, Swellerfungus and Lady Sim was organised
SeffnJarah, Deznjez and I got an early start today and planned to focus on collecting rare and unloved caches today, After a big day, we checked into our cosy accommodation, got a fire going and then headed back out to collect some Wingaap caches.
This one was still showing on an old pocket query, No trouble with parking here after dark and all seemed OK at the cache. Another creative cache. Sorry to see this one archived.

It is clearly stated in the description Re parking. I had enough comments re parking/location. Also I’m amazed that a waterproof container is continually reported with a soggy logbook. When checked it’s obvious little care has been taken to ensure a good seal.
Seemed a bit dangerous parking on the side of the highway to grab this one. The container looked very reminiscent of one we found recently. The log is so wet that we couldn't even sign it, unfortunately..
Forbidden fruit indeed. Walked from stonewater as highway parking seemed ill advised. Log us saturated. Nice art work. Tftc
On our 4th day of holidays in Stanthorpe. Last cache for the day. I had to drive way past the gz before I could pull off the highway. After a long walk back through the grass and past dead animals, we located the cache. Unfortunately it was very wet and smelt really bad so I didn’t try to sign it.

You know when you are really enjoying something but you know it’s about to end? Kind of like when you’re reading a good book. You want to get to the end to see how it plays out, but then you are sad when you get there that it’s finished?
Well that’s what was happening to me right at this moment. I had been so excited to start my wingaap finds out here, the Temptation too great to pass up, and it was like a drug, wanting more with each find. But eventually it runs out, and this is where I was finding myself now. I was on the final wingaap cache here.
Fangsoki pulled up while I dashed over through the long grass and over the fallen pieces of tree, hoping not to meet any satanic serpents amongst the log/sticks, but knowing that end prize was much more desirable than the worry of a snake.
Soon enough I had made it through the trees and come face to face with my final glossy prize. A prize I had sampled similar of once before in my earlier caching days, in wingaaps other town of residence. But a prize no less inspirational.
The ants also thought this sweet offering too good to pass up, as I had to remove them from inside and sadly the logbook was mouldy and damp, but I managed to make my mark before replacing everything as it should be and charging back to the car, both pleased with my finds for the day, yet also wishing there were more for another day.
Thanks for the cache wingaap, and for the great enjoyment I’ve had out here today. Yet another Favourite Point to add to the stack.

Log too damp. TFTC Thank you for hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity. Very Clever
Making our way north we have now reached the granite belt and there are a lot of interesting and quite spectacular rock formations around. This was a not a difficult cache to find with ilook4geo. Actually it stood out quite nicely. After doing the signing duties, all was put back into its place before we headed on our way for the day. Thanks go to wingaap for putting this cache into play.
We are now caching in the granite belt with goingplaces2 and enjoying finding some fun and interesting caches. This one was easy to find and soon had our names on the paper. TFTC.
This was a cute cache to find as my final one for the day. It has been a long and exciting two weeks of camping and caching and now I'm heading home. Thanks for the cache, wingaap!
The final cache for the day. Took the cache owner’s advice and parked at Stone Water and walked to this one.

TFTC! This one has been on my hit list for quite some time. But how do I time it to retrieve it? Where do I park? Well late this afternoon / evening, the highway was pretty quiet, so parked on a nearby country road and walked approx 400m to the cache. Part walk on the highway, part walk on a side road - dirt and grass (not driven very often)! Once close to GZ, I could see the cache container. It was a great hide. Nice to see a cache like this in the Bush on the side of the road. Now to walk back to my car, from the same way in which I came!
Last night we stayed in a place that packed us up a breakfast hamper with local produce. There were apples, apple juice, apple bread and probably some other stuff made of apple. I thought Stanthorpe was famous for wine, granite and caches.
We got out of the car for the walk to GZ and the flies found us. It seemed there were 20.7 flies per human and so the pace was quick. We got back to the car and cracked open our apples to celebrate this trail of great hides. tftc

Morning planned for geocaching. My amazing Geo-Wife KaleidoscopeCass and I were on the hunt for geocaches. It ended up with us getting home around 10pm in Toowoomba. Thanks for the cache. Signed WT + KC to save space on logs.
Why did Eve want to leave the garden of Eden and move to New York ? She fell for the Big Apple! This would have to be the most well made cache I have ever come across! Obviously a favourite point and a big thank you for taking the game to the next level! Thanks a bunch
Back out on bitumen again, we struggled how to get this one as once again the geo-maps don’t match reality and produce extra roads that we can’t see. So in the end we decided to just park and hot foot it in the direction we were being pointed to. We found another cracker cache in here.
Photos had been taken and messaged back to the muggle teens back at home.

Stanthorpe road trip with barbbowman and Miss14 and do we have some adventures planned!
When we had decided to come to Stanthorpe for a couple of days, I had been looking at the caches that were around and was very excited to see a familiar CO's name - the very wonderful Wingaap. I love Wingy caches and looking at the numbers of favourite points these caches had, I knew that we had to come find them and that they would be something special
Our last Wingy cache for the day and it didn't disappoint. We didn't access it from the highway, but rather we headed in from where we'd parked for Stonewater. It was nice and safe and easy to get to. I'm glad none of the live versions of the cache guardian were there, I'd already had a close encounter with one earlier in the morning and wasn't too keen on meeting any more. TFTC Wingy

OOut on a circuit from King Storm dam to pick up as many caches, and souvenirs, as possible. All that were attempted were eventually found, some taking longer than others. Mostly all the caches were in good condition though some had damp logs. I particularly enjoyed those caches that had been created by their COs, though even some of those made me feel very uncomfortable with their placement whether it was because it was on private property or so close to the highway that they didn't allow for good parking.
Big thanks to COs for placing and maintaining these caches which add another dimension to our travels.
All logs were signed with full name or as SG as I often do depending on space available, tthough signing was not necessarily straightafter the previous logger as sometimes I filled in a space.h so you are continuing the clever, creative hides.

Trying to find this cache at night is quite difficult, but manageable. Our GPS had us going in circles before we eventually saw the cache from 8m away, enticing us to take a bite . Leaving a FP for the cool design, plus a ladybug for swag as there was none. Great work wingaap .
We pulled off the road. it was nearly dark but at least the rain had eased. Plenty of room to get off the road but but was hard to see if it was safe to do so with the long grass. The Kids love the guardian. FP
Finally got a chance to head to Stanthorpe with my Geodog Scruffy and fill in a few gaps ...
Well the cache itself is well worth a Fav. point - but the location for parking needs a minus several Fav. points. It is just a dangerously stupid spot for stopping.
After a few drive pasts, found a reasonable spot and stopped where most of car was off the road. Prob not to bad for 4WDs but for a normal sedan - wow it's scary.
But the cache itself was worth it, very well made.
All Good .. TFTC ..

Tftc of course we made it harder by driving further up the road for a park!!! We have had our exercise, impressed by the apple tree & guardian.
Walked in from Stonewater with KerriMG which was an easy walk and seemed safer than the highway.
Another fabulous cache and I will even say cute guardian.
Log is wet as it was covering the drainage holes.

In hindsight we should have done this one from the same road as Stone Water. Managed to find somewhere safe to park up on the highway and legged it across the road to GZ, cache was soon found but somehow the log is a little damp - strange because it is an upside down cache. TFTC wingaap
Are you super clever hide. Another favourite from us. So much effort and time has gone into putting this together.
Thanks wingaap for another great cache.

Other clever cache and good name for the cache and yep other other fav point and got signed and returned same place TFTC
After driving straight passed yesterday, Kammo07 and I were determined to stop for this one today.
After losing Kammo07 in the long grass and hearing a call of "Kammo down!" , we battled on until we were met by a rather fascinating guardian. I love it!!!
Cache and log were a bit damp, so we dried it as best we could and signed off.

Found with Clan-mess after battling the long grass and suddenly disappearing from view when I fell over a tussock, we found the cache. It was a bit damp but we were able sign the log and made sure the Guardian was doing his job.
Parked at the end of the dead end road and walked in,and this is ridiculous three favourite points gone in a row, well done wingaap and TFTC.

Long weekend - perfect timing to geocache around Stanthorpe and clear up some green dots. Nadine1989 is in the company of Mr and Mrs RoddyC.
When here in December 2015, we cold not find tis cache - it was mussing, and Winaap has since replaced it, so time to see the new one.
We weren't disappointed - a great cache you have made, Wingaap! A Favourite from us.
Log signed & replaced again. Found at 10.40am on 1st October, 2016. TFTC

What a beautiful cache! Of course I was shocked of the animal which is looking after the cache although I read the cache description before but really nice.
After driving past a couple of times we located best spot to park the car and nabbed the cache.
Our journey south continues, and our tally of smileys is spreading across the map. Thanks to all the CO's for some interesting caches
We managed to park the car safely and trekked towards GZ. We were greeted with another of your fantastic caches. Fave.
Casual day out caching with geo friends and we really loved this one. Well done and thanks wingaap, a favourite point from me as well and TFTC.
Out and about with some caching friends who were in town, i let slip that i had been sitting about 5 caches away from my 500th milestone. Of course the question next being what one do you want for the 500th? I have loved your caches up around Mt. Nebo, so it seemed fitting to choose a local Wingaap cache, and the Apple just seemed right. So find 500 it was! A beautifully crafted cache and extra shiny.
Cache had a tiny bit of water in it (possibly due to condensation), but able to be signed with no issues. Thanks for these ones Wingaap - always appreciation your craftsmanship. Fav of course.

The map on my phone said we could turn into Suttons lane from the hwy, but that wasn't the case, so instead of this cache being the first of the trail today, it was the last (was a good thing because we were on the correct side of the hwy to pull over as we headed back into Stanthorpe!)
As was the norm now, all 6 of us piled out of the car and not looking suspicious at all, made out way into the trees!
Another great cache located, and although the cache guardian was made of familiar materials (having 4 kids means we've been through a few of these!!), I didn't really like it!
"eek! yikes! quick, grab the cache!"
The core was signed and we made our way back into town, perfectly in time for dinner and fireworks!
All in all a really great day out celebrating my birthday at the Stanthorpe Apple and grape festival - had a lovely day!! Thanks wingaap for all the great caches we found this afternoon!

This series was absolutely awesome.....Loved each cache and hard to wirte a log without giving the surprise away. Each one was unique and easy enough to find but so novel that we would recommend this to everyone.....
This was our last of your series for today with all finds bar one which was certainly burnt ....
Outside of that this was our Honor to complete your cache series.
THANK YOU FOR THE SERIES

A bit hard finding a parking spot beside the road, particularly with another vehicle close behind. Luckily it is not a Granny Smith, so was easily seen. TFTC, Wingaap.
Having a caching weekend in beautiful Stanthorpe. Not only finding interesting caches but driving past colourful wattle and stone fruit tree blossoms. Thank you to all the wonderful COs for placing these caches.
Visiting the Stanthorpe area to find some more caches. Enjoy visiting this area and the many various types of caches and their locations. . Enjoyed this cache and was found quickly. TFTC.
A slower day today preparing for the trails tomorrow, we did some excellent caches today, 30 caches in 3 hours ,all fine finds, many thanx to all cache placers for the efforts put in, top stuff
Parking was a small problem here coming off the highway, but the well crafted cache was quickly spotted!
Day 3 of the return trip to Stanthorpe to collect the caches we couldn't find during the Mega weekend, due to lack of rain and too much rain, and to see off Team Robins on their epic adventure around Australia.
Today the plan was to head south and grab some wingaap caches which are always worth the trip for their creativity!
Thanks wingaap for the cache.

Hang on a minute, did I not find another one of these earlier today... [?] Were they from the same tree I wonder...
I knew this one was down here somewhere, so was happy when I located the forbidden fruit. As the last cache on this stretch of land, Ghostgums and I made a safe approach to GZ and secured a quick find. Details added to the log, the container was replaced, ready for the next unsuspecting visitor...
Thanks for the series of great caches, it's always great fun chasing something different.
Cheers Wingaap.

Found by Mary & David, at 1145. Tried this one a couple of days ago with friends, but we were approaching from the wrong direction. A breeze today, and just gorgeous weather and a lovely area. Our thanks to wingaap.
One of our group spotted it from the road, but the rest could not, but on return trip we could, so does that mean we do observe only what we are looking for. Loved this cache and it gets a fav from me.
cache find # 3061.Mrs GT54 had her caching eyes on, as she spotted the cache from far away. It wasn't until MrGT54 and Diamjs approached closer to GZ, that theyb then spotted the creative cache. TFTC A favourite point from us. TFTC.

Out with misssusan, geokids and geohubby. Btilliant hides. The kids loved them. Tftc
After attending the Mega this weekend with its apple motif, I was determined to pick this this apple before heading back home later today, and The Marble and I found it an easy stroll under the railway bridge from Stonewater. The cache was very easily spotted and I succumbed to temptation and plucked it quickly - but I did put it back after signing it! Later, on the way back north along the highway, I noticed with a grin that you could see it from the car! TFTC, wingaap. =^.^=
A very nicely done cache, didn't have too much trouble spotting this one. A quick find on my way out of Stanthorpe.
Many thanks for the hide.

On a geocaching trip with tmann421 with the focus being the MEGA at Stanthorpe. A fantastic trip away seeing a part of the country I had not been to before, collecting caches along the way. Stamped the logs with t&J or our names. Thanks to all the CO's for making this such a memorable trip.
In the area with Just-Lookin for the MEGA.
Great fun driving around these caches

I am having a tour of the area today and knocking over a few caches with seirra1 and AussieScouter. We are staying at the Mega, which has been an awesome experience.
Today we visited a winery, hotel (for lunch) and Jamworks (we bought some yummy jam) and completed the Elementary series, some of the bike trail and many other local caches.
Found after a short walk to GZ with friends.
Thanks for the cache wingaap. You always go to great lengths to provide a quality cache.

nice to find cache where their has been some extra effort. Out and about with Bullertrout and ADV exploring some of the tracks and trails around the Mega
I risked life an limb on a short ride along the highway from Ballandean, to reach out and pluck this tempting morsel
I did not get smited by a road train in me greedy pursuit
No snakes were seen
Just an apple
Simple as that !!
So this a-peel-ing cache gets a fave point from me
TFTC wingaap !!
