Ah! Amazing! We loved this cache!! We are currently caching with two handicaps, aged 5 and 2, which makes searching difficult. Tapping in and out, taking turns, we shared our ideas before taking over kid wrangling. Geokid found the decoy and found it hilarious! More searching back and forth before Hubby made the final find with a cry of success. Geokid helped me sign the log and enjoyed rehiding the cache. The wildlife was alternating between exciting and scary, depending on how close the 2 year old was to them. TFTC and a favourite point!

Haha, good little twist. While I was looking at the decoy, I noticed something else with the way I'd positioned things around me, lucky otherwise I think I might have been searching for a needle in a haystack! Favourite point from us for this one

Nice find. Would say the coords are off but other comments suggest it's a decoy. Very clever.

TFTC! Had looked for this one back in Jan 2020, with no luck. Very successful this time with both Bunadoorian & Grub62!

30-Dec-23
Grub62 found the decoy then the cache. Clever hide and well constructed. TFTC.

This cache was on my wishlist to find before leaving Melbourne. I didn't know Smiley1982 couldn't find it on her last visit so was happy to come back and try and find today. I found the well hidden cache first and then had to then find the logbook. I soon had the cache in hand - getting the logbook out took a bit more work by bunadoorian. TFTC and for bringing us here deercheetah. A favourite point for the well constructed cache.

tassietan and I are out for a caching day getting enough caches to get the latest souvenir. We were one short, so decided to come here for this cache because of the number of favourite points. We found the cache easily, uncovered in the spot and looked at each other with a bit of bemusement. I have a similar cache and couldn't really see why it had attracted the number of favourite points it has...until we extracted the log! So good!!!! Just love the decoy!!Took us a while to find the actual log, after much searching, a bit of tree climbing, and a bit of head scratching. Thanks very much deercheetah, it is indeed an excellent cache and I'm a wee bit jealous I hadn't thought of doing that. Another favourite point of course!

18-Dec-23
RoadieM and I are out and about today getting 12 caches for the latest challenge. We drove up the east side of the Derwent and are wending our way back home down the western side. We especially targeted this cache as it had so many favourite points - we were intrigued! RoadieM made a quick find of the cache and I have to say we were a little underwhelmed ... until RoadieM extracted the log!! Very funny! It had us scratching our heads (and extracting bits of pine from our heads when RoadieM came a cropper at one stage) until the puzzle was eventually solved. As the cache was a little exposed when we first found it, we returned it into it's position, as per the clue description. What a fun cache and an amazing effort for your first ever cache placement! Definitely deserves the fav points and I'll add to the tally for this very clever cache (not to mention the lovely location with the myriad of bird species about). Thanks deercheetah for a great cache for my last find of the day.

It was time for a return trip to Tassie to explore the southern part of the state. I paired up with OzHockeyChick for a 5 day caching blitz with some sightseeing in between. It was sadly the final day and we were mopping up the end of the TTSS and SSF series while making our way from Orford to Hobart via a whole heap of other caches.

Found the decoy here and was stumped for a moment. Where could it be? The clever blighted was hiding away and alas we found the fresh log sheet and signed it. A favourite point for this one.

Thanks deercheetah for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

I found the decoy but for the life of me, I couldn’t find the actual cache. I’m sure the ducks were laughing at me too.

I’ll be back though. Smile

Log replaced.

25-Apr-23
After re-reading the hint at home, I decided to go back and look for what I thought it may be. Managed to find it on my second time round easy!

25-Apr-23
No blue stopper is in place, the log is visible easily and may receive water damage…

24-Apr-23
Beautiful sparkling autumn day. not a breath of wind, and no muggles ! GZ quickly reached, and a clever device retrieved. Taken aback by a message advising one to keep looking, and after some rereading we honed in on the prize. Excellently well done deercheetah. Thanks for your work, and take a favourite from us.

Could not found this one!

After finding the decoy, we searched high and low and everywhere in between.
Finally found

A week away from the stresses of reality. a new state for the geocaching stats.

Cache was found with Crzymelly & TeamPQS.

This is a clever find. THe description made sense, but we did not inspect the decoy cache hard enough to make the find. After re-evaluating the clue, another inspection was made and the log found.

14-Feb-23
Today Zozetta and I headed out to the Claremont area with the aim of finding a few caches. We started the day at Windermere bay then drove towards Granton finding some good caches along the way. We discovered some places that we had never been to before found a good variety of container sizes and types. It was good to be out caching again after two weeks without attempting one.

I’ve been intrigued by this, and the other high favourite point cache in the area, for a while now so it was great to be able to find both today. There was a man feeding some ducks (and geese) near GZ when we arrived but he was gone not long afterwards. After reading the hint I quickly found what I thought was the cache only to discover that it was the decoy. So we kept looking and Zozetta eventually found the real cache. This is one of the best caches that I’ve found and it’s definitely getting a favourite point, excellent hide!

Thanks for the cache deercheetah!

Once again it’s beaten me. I did find the decoy this time round though. I’m still blaming the fact I have a nearly four year old and 18month old to keep a close eye on! Asked for a hint from CO

A very clever hide indeed. It took a fair bit of searching with the cache in hand a few times before the hide was found. TFTC

Exploring Tasmania with hellyonfire cache by cache. The weather has kept us on our toes and our ears frozen, and we enjoyed every moment. Thanks to all the cache owners for the creative hides and/or great locations.

Down from Queensland & my 1st time here so a pleasure you to combine caching with the tourist trail. After a visit to MONA (which was pretty good - even though, after rocking up with the family - we were told the Museum of Old & New Art is nicknamed “museum of sex and death”!!), decided had to go get “a final day of 2021” cache or two. That way I can get my 2021/2022 souvenirs. Have to admit, I did use the hint - mostly because I had an impatient hubby & 2 impatient boys sitting, waiting in car. Still an enjoyable find. Just be wary of the hairy (itchy) caterpillar nearby.

09-Dec-21
Looked in the obvious fork before several muggles rolled up to feed the wildlife. I shall attempt again one day and bring some food for the residents

Out and about i decided on this one after noticing the FP's it has Cool

Muggles had only just left as i arrived. The ducks and geese then turned their attention to me thinking i have food lol Big Grin I can only imagine if i had some, a potential mobbing may have occured [:o] Big Grin

Up at GZ i found the cache but had a bit of a looksee before noticing something about it that i had seen before on a cache in Swan Hill, Victoria.
This construction was amazing and so elaborate. A great effort for a first cache Wink A Favorite Point gladly offered Cool

The log within is dry and all is in great order [^] Re-hid exactly as found with care Smile
No caterpillars were sighted but i'm sure the water-birds would have loved them if there were ha ha Big Grin

Now THAT was a challenge! Thank you so much for this cache. Had a blast!

17-May-21
Today we decided to trek into Hobart and surrounds and find a few more caches that we have not found and to make them a smilie. A very cold, windy and a tad wet but braved the coooooooold weather and rugged up for the occacion.

We parked at the park and were greeted with heaps of geese and ducks, no food on board, they were not impressed. Once at GZ we quickly found the decoy, when we eventually found the true cache we were impressed by the quality of the hide and adding to our favourites.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

My last day in Tasmania and I was lucky to meet up with Lady membsec and head out for an adventure. The next on our list were a couple of caches in this area with a lot of FPs. There is a certain challenge cache I am working towards qualifying for. This cache would certainly help towards my goal.

Arriving close to GZ we were delighted to see a huge gathering of ducks and geese being fed by some muggles. We stopped to watch the crazy collection of feathery friends for a while before heading off to hunt.

It didn’t take long to discover the very funky container. Love it! I can see why it has so many FPs. We made sure not to touch the fuzzy cache guardians.

Thanks for the smiley deercheetah Big Grin
Happy to supply another FP for this creative cache!

31-Dec-20
That was a double take! Nice afternoon!

29-Dec-20
Absolutely brilliant hide , and location. Replaced as found. Only saw 2 fat furry caterpillars, so the others might be butterflies by now. I found the decoy then had a read through activities and realised I should not give up. Delighted at finding beautiful hide. Thanks

26-Dec-20
Tftc covered with these little “friends” Smile

26-Dec-20
Found the cache in a nest a furry caterpillars (not spitfires, as they prefer eucalyptus but definately not ones I want to find out what happened if I touched).
Thought I had avoided the caterpillars but then fetaisbeta pointed out that there was one right by my finger, causing me to drop the cache & send caterpillars flying. We nearly got thrown off by the decoy but after some careful examination uncovered the goods.
Thanks for the cache, excellent first hide!
