A geocaching Sunday, what a sunny day! Converting DNF, doing a CITO, some finds and meeting a geocaching couple from Far North Queensland later on. After the CITO nearby, this was one of three traditional finds along this cycleway, for me. Actually searched twice, the first zilch. After getting two further down, I walked back here for another attempt. Logging entries were helpful. Gotcha. TFTC Rainbow Spirit for my 2,480th geofind.
20 December 2023This is find number: 9021Streak Day: 2925Found Today with Snoopy1976, took us a bit to spot today. ThanksThanks to Rainbow Spirit for placing and maintaining this cache. TFTC
Streak Day #3814 - Out with Dave8153 for our cache of the day. Quick find for us today. TFTC
Jumped over the over to get under and under once more for CIH. That makes sense, right? Thanks RS
A day of searching for Rainbow Spirit caches with Oldmorty. With not many places this could be it was a previous log that had me over, under, under and up to find the container. TFTC!
Out caching with morty8888 hunting down Rainbow Spiriit caches. After completing the Around the Park series we headed over to grab some caches on the cycleway/walkway beside the motorway. Well I let young morty8888 do the over and under stuff and I was about to paf when he appeared with the prize. TFTC RS
After the nearby CITO, I headed over to the M7 walkway. Over then under, then back up, and under again. I thought it was gone as I tried a PAF. After initially missing it, I used my torch and spotted something in the dark. Then back up and over once more to get back on the path. TFTC
Found It!
Wandered over here from the nearby event and after reading the hint I soon had the cache in hand!

Well that was a little bit tricky, but got into the right position to find it. TFTC Rainbow Spirit
Desperate to do some caching. Detoured to this one whilst on our way to a medical appointment in Liverpool. TFTC Rainbow Spirit and thanks for maintaining this fun cache.
Rainbow Spirit I didn’t find your cache Under the Over on 25/4/21, 12:42 pm. A quick look but nothing found.
Another DNF here for us. Dan climbed over and under 3 times. Good exercise for the old fart. However, the cache was too well hidden. TFTH
Interesting, after jumping from side 2 side and found the correct spot. After a brief search we were able to locate TFTC
Well what a mission. Once we figured out the correct route thanks to a PAF it wasn't too long until we had our finger tips on the goods. Lots of fun had here. Tftc
Located at 6:25am. #826. Heading down to Denham Court and Leppington today for some meetings and errands, I decided to make a go for this previously thwarted attempt. This time I was successful. Nothing better than a thrill of a cache this early in the morning plus it garners me the special Souvenir for today . Большое спасибо! תודה! L’chaim! TFTC!
Council workers at GZ spraying herbicide meant I had to keep walking. Could not begin a search. I shall return. L’chaim!
A lovely stroll with no one all day on the Bike/ Foot path due the intermittent rain
Quick find with hint and the last one for the day
Thanks for the cache

I had a calendar vacancy to fill today so I left home at 6.30am and found 13, had 2 DNFs and located two others for logging at a future date.
I jumped the fence made the easy find although the camo in the shade was good.

On a relatively cool morning (compared to the previous week), decided for a bit of cyclo-caching around Hoxton Park area. Well it started reasonable, but gradually got hot during the day. Much of the time was spent looking for taps and shops to get water to top up the bidon.
Tally for day: 22 Finds, 1 quazi-DNF
- - -
Second of the day and of all the finds of the day, this has to be the one that took the most physicality (and risky, in road cycling shoes with cleats!)

8/09/16. 1:09 PM. Cache #4174.
3rd of 4 finds - Elizabeth Hills, Middleton Grange, Hoxton Park & Prestons.
After "Over Here", it was time to come here and revisit my previous DNF. Having visited GZ with the CO back in June, I knew exactly where it was meant to be, and although I had seen that the CO has replaced it, the recent DNFs by the last 2 visitors had me wondering if it had gone again.
But first things first, it took me a while to get here. I first went to Yarato Rd to see if I could just scramble up like I did last time. Nope - that way is now blocked off, you should probably update the description. Then I thought I could access the cycleway from Yarrawa St. Wrong! Finally went to Spire Ct and accessed the bike track from there. Took the long way to GZ and repeated the route that the CO and I had taken in June. Checked where I expected and rewarded with the find. First on the new log.
I quickly returned to the cycle track, making sure I wasn't spotted (I had seen security patrolling earlier), went back to the car and off to my next cache, "Up Grade". TFTC.

OCW with Mrs A on the MTB's hoping to grab a few M7 cycle way caches on a Perfect day.
Oh oh..we just dropped our game with a DNF.
Oh oh..we just dropped our game with a DNF.
dingoman007 and I had a really solid hunt for this one, and knowing that it had just been replaced made it even more enticing. But after a good stab at it, we still couldn't get our hands on it.
21/6/16. 12:32 PM.
Combined DNF/NM here, followed by 4 finds along the M7 cycleway - Hoxton Park & Prestons.
I parked below GZ, on the little part of Yamato Rd not closed off by the gate. From here, I was only 35m away, but had a fairly decent scramble up the rocks to GZ to contend with. I tried one side, but the satellite photo suggested I needed to go under the cycle path to be between that and the M7. A similar hiding place, still nothing.
Looked under the M7 too, just in case (plenty of hiding spots there, too). Out of ideas, I headed back to the cycle path side and contacted the CO. Sounds like I had checked all the right spots, so it's most likely missing.
I made my way up on to the cycle path to get my next target, "Ive League". Meanwhile, I had plans to meet the CO further along the path. An hour later, we were both back here and confirmed it definitely is missing. I won't claim a find, I'll come back.

Hrm, no luck here despite mucho scrambling about. Might turn back to the car now.. TFTC anyway!
Caching day with AreWeThereYetOrWhat, Dwight Shrute, Nickstar69 and Gabby! TFTC Gabby went over and under for the team!
We started looking on the wrong side but after I bumped my head on the railing we sent one of the geokids over and it was soon in hand. TFTH
Gabby and Dwight Shrute's other half looked under the wrong side. When Gabby found it in the right side however, her arms were too short causing her to call on us for reinforcement. dropped off a geocoin to continue its travels. TFTC!
It'd been a while since i'd been out to do some serious caching and with the festive season consuming much of my time I was gratefull for a small window of opportunity to grab a few caches with steeba today. This was one of a plethera of caches we found in south- western Sydney on what was a very very hot day.
More like over, then under
Thanks

Teamed up with The Rats today for a pre-Christmas day of caching around Western Sydney. It was a scorcher of a day but we managed to find plenty of great hides.

Out for a bit of a bike ride and decided to stop for a few caches on the way.
Nice quick find in between passing cyclists. (Didn't want to leave my bike leaning on the railing by itself for too long.)
Dropped off a Travel Bug.
Thanks.

After finishing up work meetings in Liverpool, I went out to find a few caches before heading back to my hotel near the airport. I parked near the Dark Dead End but didn't really have a look for that given all the DNFs on it. Had to bypass Hanging Around as it was muggle city and carried on to this one. Worked out the best approach and after I got in the right position found the cache without too many hassles. TFTC, Biggles.

I did ride a long way past this cache. I thought we needed to get off the bike track and was looking for an exit. Eventually I realised bikerbuddy wasn't riding behind me and went back.
Bikerbuddy had another strategy, and got to the cache without too much difficulty.
Thanks

Found it! Quick find, Loose had to jump over the fence to get the cache. TFTC RS!
Toriaz has a new bike and today she got to ride it. She was so excited about riding her bike that she rode straight past this cache which we had agreed we would look for. I stopped within about three metres of the cache and watched her disappear into the distance. Anytime now, I kept thinking as she pedalled blissfully along. Anytime now. A few other cyclist went past and watched me watching her in the distance. By this time I was trying mental telepathy, aiming an embarrassing thought right at the back of her head. Then she stopped. She looked about her. I wasn't there. She looked back along the track. She saw me. She checked her GPS. She looked back at me again. She turned her bike and rode back to me.
I chained her to the fence while I went to retrieve the cache. I didn't want her wandering off or being stolen. As it turned out, the cache was a much faster find than getting Toriaz in the right place.
But she is enjoying her bike. Thanks RS.

#2086 (9 of 9 today)
Things to do this morning, but finally got out this afternoon to grab some little boxes before the sun went down.
Decided to head south west today. I'm sure I have a friend who lives close by...
Hmmm. There still appears to be a slew of Rainbow Spirit caches around here. So I went for some of them, and hoped the DNFs wouldn't pile up too high.
END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION
Well, I made this harder than it needed to be - even after finding a fence panel that wasn't secured properly so obviating the need to climb over anything.
Of course I initially went past the right spot without checking it, leading to an extra 20 minutes of rockhopping and peering into less and less likely spots as the light faded - even including checking a similar spot to the correct one - with no find.
So finally I came back to the right spot - at least I checked it now - and made the easy find.
Completed signing duties and replaced.
Too dark for me to find anything this CO is likely to have placed nearby. Time to head back to The Hademobile and back home.

our last, 7th find for the day.Geo kids rode scooters, bikes and we pushed geo baby in pram for over 3 hrs, top effort with minimal whinging! This was one for hubby to go scaling over, although he did have a bit of trouble reaching it, he soon had it in his hands and brought it back whilst I guarded the bridge like a troll! thanks for the hides that provided us an afternoon of fresh air, fitness and free fun & adventure. Great kid friendly track. Thank you Rainbow Spirit, we will be back to finish
A quick retrieval by our youngest member, who scaled the fence, traversed the rocky slope and had cache in hand within 5 minutes. Nice spot for a cache and great little box. Thanks for another great hide.
Well hidden, but finally also an easy one to find. Needed this one after again a longer serie of DNF's... Thanks again for this one!
A last minute night trip out to Liverpool with Webguy and Whitemushroom saw us find this cache. As the youngest of the group I was the sucker sent to make the manouvres to the GZ. Nice little hide, an urban cave this time instead of a sandstone one. Never found one like this before, and this was the first find of the night after 4 expected DNF's on the nearby micros. TFTC.
An afterdark callout from Team Webguy, with yttam eager to tackle any terrain, and a mysterious drive, a walk ... after a discouraging trail of dnf results, it was with no compunction that yttam was sent over to seek the under (if not said, certainly thought: we are, well you are, there till cache in hand). The terrain terrier ably displayed his talents, retrieving the cache. There's a good boy! TFTC Rainbow Spirit
The first "normal" cache on this stretch of biketrack. Nice quality container with still 1 container left inside. Easy excess from the bike track.

We have been talking about hiding our own cache for a while now and have been making preparations...but we definitely have no excuses now! Thank you Rainbow Spirit for your excellent hides, the hours of frustration....I mean entertainment, you provide us and now a cache to hide. xo
Nope not for me rainbow spirit
I came to GZ passing the fence and the 2 lonesome tires, but after 30 min I age up

We had a small window of time today and seeing these were still unfound we headed over. For Under and Over we realised where we needed to be and hopped the fence to start the search. There appeared to be lots of possible hiding places but we moved to a slightly different area and made the find. We opened it up and confirmed **FTF** We completed the signing duties and re hid. We took a container and hope to put it out over the school holidays. TFTC
It was then onto Ivy League where the GPSr took a little to settle and it took as a while to find the well blended in hide. We opened it up for another FTF. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
It was then onto High Voltage and an M7 Service vehicle with lights flashing pulled up wondering what we were doing. Fortunately we were on the phone so did not have to give much of a storey but was told to move along from the switchboard area so not wanting to push our luck we moved to the next
Offset was our last for the day. We kept starting and stopping due to passing muggles on bikes and struggled to make the find as it had that word easy in the description. Finally the GPSr settled on an area we should have worked out early and then found the camo. Another FTF. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
