Like a previous finder, I discovered this one quite buried in mud and in need of a wash before opening. Cleaned it up and hid it with some hopefully drier cover
Can't find how to get there as gps takes us into an estate, and coordinates are inaccessible
the bushland blends into itself
we've seen so much of it in recent days
our eyes have become attuned to the hues of eucalypts and acacias and wattle
all the colours and textures
the trees and rocks and kangaroos
meld together into one
it's easy to forget where one walk ends and the next begins
the hiker’s groundhog day
the bushman’s rinse-repeat
perhaps here there are new things to marvel at
maybe a bird's call we've never heard before
a hidden stream trickling through the undergrowth
but
the bush is playing games with us
we feel like we’ve seen it all before

A nice little cross country ride to get to this cache. Headed for the dominant structure and then found the cache that was totally stuck with soil covering it and also all sorts of insects. Good thing that there was a pond here to wash the container
Thanks wackyweedos.

Cache still in place in its snug hole. A colony of ants had assisted with its camo and had claimed it as there own. We have extracted the cache and returned it for the next finder with less camo.

A lot of damage here from the last rain.
Looked around for some time, but the mossies became a problem, and we decided to retreat.
Sadly a DNF here, for us today.
Thanks for the hunt anyway, wackyweedos.

Quick walk through here after work to grab these couple of caches, never new about this little pocket of nature. Lovely walk thanks for bringing me here. Both caches found in good condition.

Last day on the hunt for this trip to Albury, brings me here today. I passed by here and made a quick find in a beautiful location. Stunning really, I was serene and happy just being here.
I note it can get 'buried' in-situ, and it was well on it's way again I must say. The worms are busy little beggars. The container and contents are fabulous still.
Thanks wackyweedos for entertaining me at this location.

Reclaimed the hide from the worms... ready for others to find. Amazing how buried this was given it was found only weeks ago! Enjoy.
Perfect time of year to bush bash with no fear of wriggly sticks.
Lovely bit of bush. TTFC

After finding the other nearby cache the decision was made to sally forth for the final. Well after a slight drizzle that wasn't too bad the heavens opened! Shortly all of us where drenched! Once at GZ the cache was found, a short walk had us to the car which had been moved by Mrs Lost Wanderer.

New container & log in place. This cache is back and ready to be found. Be aware of the new neighbours that have appeared over the fence who may be watching you. Happy and safe caching.
New container & log placed ready to be found. Great to see the dam full and many kangaroos enjoying the woodland. Happy and safe caching.
Disappointed to find this cache MIA when we went exploring this afternoon. Shocked also to see the rapid residential growth up to the fence as well!
We will keep this cache offline until Covid-19 passes as it isn't essential.

On my way south for the last events of the Oceania Orienteering Champs, I took some time to find a few trads on the eastern side of Hume highway before crossing the border. A pleasant short walk and a quick find here. Got swooped by a magpie soon after leaving the car and again on my return. TFTC.

Found with Cat and Groover. Yes, was a beautiful SPRING DAY. Thanks for cache placement and maintenance.
Great spot beautiful walk for the geo dogs. I forgot an extra pen and mine was non compliant. Still worth the effort. Keep on Rockin
After a 100% success rate at the previous cache, I wandered over this way to have a look for this one...
It was a nice quiet walk with a few Roos bounding off occasionally, and soon enough I was circling the inky black waters of the dam, and zeroing in on GZ....which I found and signed my life away....so now that's 2 for 2
Then I went off and explored the reserve for a while, until the phone rang and it was my ladies who had just disembarked from the pictures and apparently it was now ice cream time....

What a beautiful walk around the back of thurgoona... Spotted the mob of roos but we were a bit loud and off they bounded
Took a wander to explore this little parcel of crown land that I'd not have known was here but for the couple of hides within it!
A little damp underfoot (we had some rain! yippee!) and mostly cloudy, but a delightful stroll through the modified woodland. Strange to have virtually no understory plants.
Was swooped by a defensive magpie on the way in and the way out. Planes are not very high above you when standing at the far end of the bitumen! Frogs calling from the wetter areas. One soggy, slow moving native bee spotted on a dandelion flower.
An easy find, all in good condition.
Thanks wackyweedos for the introduction to another little spot I had no idea existed!

A great sunny autumn day for walk and a cache and I even dragged muggle Mr S along.. enjoyed the walk and even spotted the rather large kangaroos in the distance.. cache found, log signed and returned. Picked up the pathtag as well..
We are staying nearby at the Lake Hume caravan park and headed out today collecting a few caches and this was one we found. A nice walk to GZ, no roos were spotted but we did see a hare the size of a dog! No water in the pond, everything is so dry. Left pathtag, TFTC
Took some friends on their first caching trip, a bit of drama with some kangaroos but a fun trip
A nice stroll from the nearby cache. Left the bike 50 metres away from the cache. Then i walked to gz and made a quick find. A lovely spot thanks for bringing me here tftc
Ah - a few caches to make the Albury dentist visit really worthwhile! A really lovely tucked away Park and at this time of the evening a gem. TFTC

Quick trip to Albury and for a number of reasons just a one night stay. It was still great to take an early morning walk near to where we were staying and check out a few caches. This was my second of three finds in the area on a chilly but pleasant morning. Tarbit had scoped things out earlier in the week whilst introducing a couple of friends to geocaching so I knew this one was here. After a find nearby I headed on to this one. A very interesting area opened up before me and once I worked out where I needed to be in relation to the water I was able to make the find. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache wackyweedos.

Maybe not a natural gilgai, but could be Sliane's habitat - a lovely walk through a bit of the amazingly forward looking planted areas of the now gone Albury Wodonga corporation. The gZ is in the pond but only one obvious spot and quickly found - TFTC
Quick find in obvious place. But the coords had me in the middle of the pond. A bit cold for a swim today.
Such a beautiful spot for a walk. Finding so many around this town while out caching.

6543. Found by baby&Mrs gopher at 1450. We have been in the border town all day without transport so it was time to get out and make a cache find before we headed back to The Rock. Parked and went for a stroll in the early winter sunshine. The area is worth a walk through. SL Tnx wackyweedos
Now this was a little more challenging than "Stumped". Care was needed to watch for spiders (web spinners between trees) and snakes while watching the compass needle at the same time. Being a solo cacher, a snake bite could become a big issue so heavy footfalls and slow going was required. But once nearby to GZ, an easy find ensued. Thanks wackyweedos. Great bush walk.
Found at1041. Last day in the border region so we are on a mopping up mission. Tomorrow we leave for Canberra it should be OK there I think most of the pollies have left for the Christmas break. We decide to tackle this one and it's brother as part of our mopping up our mission today because they were bothering us sitting in the bush teasing us with their presence. The problem we had before is finding a way in to them. Today we managed to get the car to with in 150M's so I trekked along a newly made vehicle track and came across a fence climbed it, only to find a sealed road on the other side crossed it, then bush bashed the last 30 or so M's in to the GZ and found cache number one. On to the second brother Another 300M walk into the wilderness which proved to be easier than I thought Found It. Now where was the car again. TFTC's
**They niggle us no more.**

Found as Nicnax with PapaGrouch. We went for a bit of a walk today in an area we had never visited before to collect some caches. The log book was sitting in its bag next to the empty container when we found it, replaced it inside after signing. TFTC
Third & last find with geomum (theredfox). Nice walk to location. Another easy find. Nice 1km bush walk back to car
A spare day saw us in Albury, cleaning up a few caches we had passed by before.
Some really nice walks and bike rides on a very mild day.
This was a nice spot, well away from the creeping suburb.
We saw a small mob of kanga bouncers and a few planes.
A bit damp and cold for any wriggly sticks.
The dam was full and the whole place covered in lush green grass.
Thanks, Robmc.

# 10621. The forecast was for a reasonable day so Robmc and I loaded our bikes and headed over the border to find some long-solved puzzles, do some walks to more remote caches, ride to find a few and then back south of the border to grab a few relatively new ones in Wodonga before heading home.
As you said when you checked the cache - there was nothing wrong with it. Not wet, no ant guardians and a quick retrieval. All good. We were surprised to see this wallow here. Now of course the whole area is so green and the kangaroos were enjoying it before we disturbed them and they hopped away. This was a lovely area and I hope this doesn't get developed like the nearby clearing back where we started from.
Thanks wackyweedos

Stopped in to check on this one with new log & bag after receiving the last log.... Expected it to be soaked after 100mm of rain this week. Not the case - bone dry. Have closed lid tight & returned it to its snug hide for the next finder. Great to see the soak full & overflowing!
TFTC. We are staying with friends in Thurgoona. Looking for some local caches, we discovered that the house backs onto the Woodlands. Getting some excercise went for a walk around the woods and cached. Caches in good order.
Another long weekend....another trip away..this time 1/2 of our team headed to Albury for a weekend of caching with Rapidlywild and Coruze. Day one was spent around Mt Disappointment where we finished up fairly late and headed to the hotel for a good nights rest. Day two we headed back to Albury the long way and collected a few more and meandered our way through all the little towns, nice change after a big day on the trail on Saturday. Today we were heading back to Canberra so we collected the solved puzzles and others around Albury before hitting the highway.
Thanks to all the cache owners for the placements and giving us a reason to come and check out another area of this country of ours, apologies for the generic log.
Thanks to Rapidlywild and Coruze for another enjoyable weekend.

Long weekend was coming to an end, lots of caches collected and today we picked up some more around Albury/Wodonga before making our way home.
Another slight detour while in the area then off to the car to continue our quick caching dash before heading home.

Easy casual walk through bush land for this one. Nice to see a nesting box along the way. Tftc
Continued our walk through Corry's using the animal tracks to keep us in the shade. No water present, but a green hollow in amongst the dry bushland. SL at 9.59am Took: hat and a photo of the hollow. Left: black gumnut PT #3250 TFTC wackyweedos and now to find somewhere cooler!

Nice piece of bush land here, nice and open and very little undergrowth or grass, perfect for someone like myself wearing sandals to walk through
Would be a perfect spot for a night cache.
Not sure what the red "DANGER" spray paint on the tree is intended for , but found the cache and signed, placed back all unscathed and lived to tell the tale.
TNLN, TFTC, Cheers.

We had just done another cache nearby and was just a case of heading over to this GZ and again made another quick find with the geo kids. Thanks wackyweedos for the cache, it was nice and quiet out this today with plenty of signs of kangaroos that visited the area, even watched a plane coming in nice and low to land.
Out grabbing a few caches with Happy Pants and a few of the geokids. Enjoyed the walk, even on a warm day. Thanks .

Bit scared of snakes! We left it late and it got dark quiet quickly. But good walk and great find.

Staying in Albury with our son for a few days.
Our last chance as he finishes his assignment at the Albury Hospital and returns to his normal role at Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne next week.
We're staying until Wednesday as Pam is doing a quilting course in Wodonga on Tuesday, which leaves me free for a day to some caching. In the meantime doing sightseeing, and a bit of caching too.
Parked at the side of the road and walked to this cache through the short wet grass. The location was beautiful today, with everything looking fresh and green, with beautiful reflections of the little lake.
The cache name so under values the reality of the location, even if it was once a hog wallow.
Left a pathtag and a fav point.
On the walk back to the car a mob of kangaroos, at least 30, crossed our path heading from the south to the north, but unfortunately they were too far away and too fast to get a photo with my phone.
The back story is that we drove in through the open gate in the middle of the day, and while we there a couple of women in a small from one of the properties passed us going out. When later we tried to exit the gate was locked. I discovered however that the adjoining rail was not attached, it was just sitting on the posts, so it was a simple matter to get out. Is this a case of land owners trying to annex a public road on crown land?
Thanks for placing this cache wackyweedos

Checked on this one while walking the dogs. Please return cache to hide to ensure it lasts. Also wandered up to the boundary fence (south east of hide) to find awesome views of the snow capped mountains!
This is a lovely spot with the dam full of water. The area is nice and green at the moment. The great thing about doing these caches in winter is you don't have to worry about snakes. A good enough reason to be out on a cold day.
We located the cache while being muggled by some horses in the paddock next to us. Thanks for sharing this great spot with us.

This was a nice walk, on a wet chilly afternoon didn't see any roo's today the cache was found quickly, left a personal PT TFTC
Found with indianagleeson and baileevans.j&gabby...... Think I saw the predator
Ryan and I moved onwards toward "Hogwallow", looking forward to our walk into the woodland into an area that looked perfect to explore. A perfect day really to be out searching for caches so close to home.
You can't really beat an amble through parklands where you are left to enjoy the peace and quiet of solitude. No-one else around, a muggle-free attempt at finding little boxes...ideal!
It least we expected to be on our own, but we soon came across a man walking his dog about 100m from GZ. He wasn't too concerned about us anyway, oblivious as to why we were there.
We were hoping to see some 'roos but they were hiding from us, so we got busy with the job at hand. The co-ords soon had us in a idyllic location, a lovely little spot, before soon finding the cache.
SL at 1.20pm. All ok. We really enjoyed our trek to the top of Corry's Road and beyond. Thanks for the well-located caches wackweedos.

yay a great hide thought it to be in the most obvious spot 10minutes later it was there
Second one today. Took the spaceman a while to get this one in hand as he was concerned about "something" hiding in the hollow. Ninja gloves, and a bit more effort and the deed was done. TFTC wackyweedos.
After a week of crappy weather the geokids needed to burn off some steam. So we checked the radar for a gap in the rain and rugged up with scarfs, beanies and gumboots. A great hike up through the long grass amongst the trees. We were lucky enough to see over 40 kangaroos grazing up on the hill. Terrific location, nice sized cache that is well stocked with treasures. Good to see a new cache-hiding team in Albury. TFTC!
