Small detour with little blue hen to check out the volcanoes with our 6 year old granddaughter. Guess what a traditional cache and an earthcache as a bonus. Tftc. Answers sent.

Awesome spot here. We loved it and probably wouldn't have come here if it wasn't for Geocaching.

I'm sure I've been here before on one of my dad's interminable country jaunts in his excuse to rack up even more miles in his company car. We spent the weekend down in Dean's Marsh and quietly set about knocking off many caches in the area and dodging lightning strikes and nearly failing with one hitting a tree only 10 metres from the house we were staying in. Spectacular bit of countryside here and the pub down in Beeac was a lovely way to end the day. TFTC.
Had a great look around this very unusual and impressive landscape. Answers sent as well.
This was an unexpected and very pleasant view at GZ. We arrived on a very windy day, a day of record winds and widespread damage around the state. The winds were so bad at GZ that we struggled to open the sliding door on our van, and we were a little worried about the front doors being ripped off their hinges. Today was also a special day as we just recorded our 7000 cache milestone and it was the last day of the regional and metro COVID border.
As we braced ourselves for a walk to the top we were surprised to find a sheltered place to enjoy the spectacular views.
We have emailed our answers.
Thanks for the Earth cache lesson and bringing us to such a memorable place. A favourite from us.

After a trip to Lavers Hill where I found a notice regarding this area I decided that I just had to venture here before heading back to the caravan. The scenery is fantastic. How amazing that this was formed so long ago
Out this afternoon for a drive from Buninyong to Apollo Bay with the MX-5 Club... with Red Rock selected as our afternoon stop. As I always do when I get the chance on such days, I check the GPS for any nearby caches. Normally nothing comes up... but today there was this Earth cache... which wasn't really all that surprising given the location! Fortunately we were here for long enough to give me the time I needed to collect the answers.
Thanks **Na'wal** for putting this Earth cache together.

It had been a while since I had been out west and seeming there was an event on today it surely was a great excuse to wander out this way to find some caches. Tagging along with Stemicmitsar for the day we had planned to clear out the area of multi's and other little bits and bobs.
Avoiding the rains fairly efficiently between caches and meeting many other friendly faces on the road after the event, the day was a success with no real issues.
Thanks for the caches and the adventure.

As there was an event happening in Beeac today, it was a good excuse to head out this way to find a few caches as well as attending the event of course.
My caching companion for the day was buhfuhguh and our plan was to target a few multi caches and letterboxes around the area.
Now that the event was well and truly over we headed for the Red Rock reserve area to see what we could find and we found that this was a very interesting area and well worth the visit.
We stopped by to check out this earthcache, found the information board and extracted the answers which have been sent to the CO
Cache count for the day so far;
7 Multi Caches
1 Letterbox Cache
1 Event Cache
10 Lab Caches
1 Puzzle Cache
8 Traditional Caches

Even though it was drizzly, it was lovely out here. There is so much to see. As all in our group appreciate geology, we all enjoyed the cache. Thanks for placing it and bringing us out here.
After enjoying exploring Beeac this morning, our small group (us, micaparamedic, Geoturtle37 and Papi4506) started heading towards Alvie and Red Rock.
Wow! What a location. No wonder everyone kept telling us we needed to go to Red Rock one day, and now we know why. Spectacular!! Spent ages taking in all the features.
TFTE Na'wal. Fave point from us.

We met up with some other cachers out doing the caches in this great location and tagged along with them for a little while. We had not been here but we will be back. The landscape is quite lovely. Thank you for placing this cache and bringing the area to our attention.
It was day 2 of Manfred the geodogs freedom (vaccinations finished). I decided to take him even further afield today, to try get some socialisation in. He came out for a sniff at the first waypoint, but was left to his own devices while I climbed the steps for WP2. Thanks for placing the cache Na'wal, an interesting spot. I hope my answers are okay.
What a shame the wind was as strong as it was, it actually made it difficult to appreciate the views, but still glad that Family Perpetuallylost were able to appreciate what this area had to offer today. In fact the wind was so strong, as I was reading the questions and Mrs Perpetuallylost was answering them we were yelling at each other and still struggled to hear each other! A great EC Na'wal, thx for setting this one up, answers on the way!
Out on a Sunday drive and what a place to end up at! An amazing view up here and enjoyed reading the signs and learning about Red Rock. Answers sent TFTEC
Was an awesome view! Had never been here before and had no idea it existed so thanks for bringing me here
It was great to be back in the area today.
Certainly plenty of fun to explore in more ways than one.
I had a good look around GZ.
Reminded me of the garden beds at our house back in the 70's!!
Well enough of that time to research.
Lucky for me I've got the tick from the cache owner.
Fav from me.

Really enjoyed our time up at the lookout today. First visit for us as we enjoy a drive inland from our accom in Anglesea. Soaked in the 360 degree views before undertaking the necessary studies to qualify for the EC. Really interesting area geologically and a great view of how the landscape was formed during those turbulent volcanic years . Really enjoyed this EC, a fave from us. Thank you Na'wal for highlighting this area.

I knew I could have solved this last week with a quick dash from the car in bucketing rain, but really, would have missed some amazing views.
Glad I hung on one more week and came out here on a perfect 19degree day. Amazing 360 views and really enjoyed the EC lesson. The old cliche 'would never have known about this spot if it wasn't for caching' is so true here. Now off to find the trad which wasn't anywhere as fun in the long grass! FP from me, Cheers.

A chance to get out of town and head down, with Mrs Dragon, along the "Great Ocean Road" to take in the beauty that is around every turn as its been 20 plus years since I had traveled that road and she has never been along that route.
We love the vibrancy of Melbourne and Victoria in general and as such trips back here are not infrequent.
We had made the decision to head to the far end and work our way back at our leasure and as we come from a country with active volcano's and a rough west coast (Black Sand) thought that it was appropriate to explore the volcanic and coastal history of Victoria. Of course I would have liked to stop at every cache along the way but prudence (and fear of Mrs Dragon) meant that I concentrated on Earthcaches along our route, with a few others thrown in for good measure.
Having travelled the full length of the "Great Ocean Road over three days, we headed back to Colac to catch friends for lunch, but first a couple of last earthcaches along the way

We visited the Red Rock Lookout this afternoon and whilst there collected information for this earthcache. Answers to the questions have been forwarded to the CO. It was a very interesting visit with very distinctive topography, formed by volcanic activity, surrounding the area and very impressive outcrops of scoria. Thanks Na'wal for the very interesting earthcache.
Found with Geo Hubby TB142 and Geo Friend RogerZ1956. Sorry forgot to log at the time.
I love visiting this spot

I was on a road trip to Colac, and accidently went to Warrnambool on the way, and this was one of the Earth caches I managed to on my meandering through the countryside. We saw a nice big lizard here and then the tourists arrived.
Found with FUF009.
A 3 day weekend for both of us meant testing the new swags and caching in areas we both had loads of choice from.
Meeting at Panmure and sussing out where to camp was the 1st priority (Lake Ellingamite), then merged into 1 car and hit the trails.
We changed camping location to near Colac for the 2nd night, less bugs more wind.
We had a wonderful weekend with many interesting finds and locations. Thanks to all the cache owners.

We visited from Mortlake to Port Fairy to Colac to Timboon and everything in between, and finishing up in Ballarat on Monday evening for the Giff event.
Another awesome Earth Cache in this area. Loved the 360 views from the lookout n also loved the plaque near these posted cords.

After staying in Colac last night to attend the Sims_family event at Melba Gully and see the fantastic Glow Worms, we thought we would explore the area further today before returning to Melbourne.
We decided we would try to do a few earthcaches in both Camperdown and Colac.
This was our fourth and last EC for the day, after doing your other EC Hyper Lake.. Answers have been sent.
Well it was blowing a gale whilst we were here. I found it a little frightening that the sign says that this area is considered dormant rather than extinct.. mmmm.. perhaps Geocaching.com should add an extra Rating - Difficulty, Terrain and Danger!
The views from here are spectacular. We have never been here before. The nearby road to the monument is also very interesting and offers great views also.
Thanks for the EC Na'wal
The weather was challenging today but we really enjoyed checking out these earthcaches

Out for Easter break with Flaggys finding caches. Very windy day here today, nearly blew away. Thanks for yet another EC Na'wal.
While on our way home we stopped into complete this one and give us a complete set of caches for the day. I grew up in the area and could look out the window of the family home and see Red Rock Alvie Hill and Warrion Hill and have spent quite a lot of time up here watching everything from storms to sunsets and fires so we collected the required info and submitted the answers. Thanks Na'wal for the cache
Out caching with the Lara folk. Lovely location and views. Answers coming with the larafolk. Tftc
I had wanted to do the Area 51 cache for some time to complete my second loop. Times and weather conspired against me, so I ended up completing the loop with a different cache. However, I still wanted to do the cache, and today was the day. So I teamed up with Maccamob and Alansee. Afterwards, we headed south where we came across this cache.
Maccamob have already done it, so it was up to Alansee and myself to gather the required answers. I have submitted my answers to the Na'wal for approval. My thanks for the cache.

Muzza and I visited today and had a look, and a great view it was from here. Even though the wind was mild down below, from here it blew a gale! We perused the answers and I have sent them off.
On our way from Port Campbell to Colac. Filthy storm raging which kept threatening to knock us off our feet. Very interesting place but not the day to linger
An impromptu stop on the way back to Melbourne from the GOR, great views!!! TFTC.
My wife and I enjoyed a holiday in the Otways, and travelled up here to check out the volcanic landscape.
I tried to imagine what this place would have looked like when the eruptions took place. Probably needed to be a few kilometres (or more) away to avoid being roasted or steamed.
Thanks for the cache, Na'wal

We always visit Red Rock when in Colac. Husband former local and we have pics about 10 years apart of him standing on the stone fence, since he was about 4yo. Great spot
Visited with sassieold55,enjoyed reading all the info as it is very interesting on how this volcanic area was formed, have visited here many times and the scenery always spectacular, thanks for earthcache and answers have been forwarded.
A blustery overcast day to visit this fascinating area. Lots of muggles about which prevented finding the nearby trads. Will have to return on a less busy day. Thanks for the cache Na wal
Took a detour to have lunch at the Red Rock. Took the time to read about the area and qualify for this earthcache. Thanx
Went to this lovely place on our way to Port Campbell. Did not find the regular cache but at least we got this eartcache. Found with erroma and Rasmusfan. TFTC

Visited Red Rock this morning, pretty amazing place and little larva today wouldn't have gone a miss, it was sooooooo cold up there! Saw lots of Kestrels soaring around the craters whilst I stuggled badly to find the other cache in this area. Some really tough one. A wonderful spot and I will be back to watch a sunrise from here one day. Logged pending CO# response to my answers sent today. TFTC

Found on a windy day on our way home from Apollo Bay. It was rush hour here today with lots of tourists (the car park was full). So despite not being able to do maccamobs nearby traditional we managed to do this EC. Was interesting to read up on the history of the volcano and to see this part of the world for the first time. Apologies for the late log..just realised I didn't log after getting permission !
Juc Jr #1 was home from her road trip down from uni in Townsville, along with her mate who was due to fly out the next night. They'd been delayed by car trouble and ended up at home with no transport of their own. They'd planned to visit the Ocean Rd, so Dad's taxi to the rescue ! (Dad needs almost no excuse to do this drive, mind you !).
Since juc_jr#2 and her mate are "apprentice rock nerds" after studying and enjoying a geology unit, the chance to drive to the top of a volcano could not be passed up, so a quick diversion from the highway soon had us standing at GZ. I hadn't realised there was an EC here till I got home and I dutifully gathered pretty much the exact answers, with a plan to put one here
On arriving home and checking, I realised I wasn't going to get to be a CO, but a geology lesson and a smiley is just as welcome ! Thanks for both Na'wal !

On the way to Warrnambool to attend both the Tower Hill Reserve event and the 1 month to the Surf Coast Mega, Lukie1987 and I stopped off to have a look around and learn a bit about mid-West (at least to Melbourne boys) Victoria.
The lookout was spectacular with brilliant views all around. I would've taken and uploaded some photos but for the constant and persistent rain. I'll be visiting again when coming this way to really soak in the views and contemplate life from such a lofty point over the very flat landscape.

Another great spot we visited this morning while grabbing a few caches in the area, while Yoshi Warriors and I worked out some answers for this one our geolads had taken off and found a cache not too far from where we parked. Two caches from one location, nice. Logged with permission from the CO, thanks Na'wal for the cache and for highlighting this amazing area. Great views too!
Doing some caching with Happy Pants and a couple of geokids. Certainly an enjoyable place to visit with a fantastic view. We answered the questions, double checking a couple of our answers. Answers emailed to the CO, who confirmed they were correct. Thanks Na'wal for the Earthcache.

This EarthCache was one of the reasons we headed down to this area.
We had a deja vu moment and checking our logs we had been here way back in 2008!

With the afternoon free I set out to grab a few Earth Caches and trads around Colac. When I left home the weather was perfect, but when I arrived GZ there was lightning bolts crashing down around me, the wind picked up and the occasional drop of rain but that didn't dampen my spirits. This has to be one of the most intresting Earth Caches I've done so far, with amazing landscape that I had no idea about, if it wasn't for Geocaching I would've probably been oblivious to this spot.

Out and about in the area today with ST37E. We admired the views and collected the necessary information. Thanks for placing this Earthcache and the interesting cache notes.
Found by Mary & David at 1545. We came by here today to do maintenance on our own cache up the hill, but there were a few muggles there, so we looked at this cache while we waited for them to leave. We never tire of the views here, but why is the wind always gale force? Beautifully green everywhere, so we were surprised to see some of the smaller lakes at the lowest level we've seen for ages. Our thanks to Na'wal.
We had collected some of the answers on a previous visit and this evening we were able to get the last bit for the tick from the CO. Always nice learning a little more about this area and the views were lovely up here. TFTC
Out with the mrs but dropped her off at Macca's in Colac as she had a meeting, so now was a good opportunity to go off and do some caching
Never been here before and what an awesome view from here and yet another place I would not have been if it wasn't for caching. A great one for my 1600th!

TFTC we visited the "Rock" today with fellow geocachers theseeker321. Great weather today! The first time I've been up there with no wind!
Finally had a chance to log this one today with Bretto44. It was actually a nice sunny day here and there was no wind until someone mentioned it!! Thanks for bringing us here again.

Travelling from Vermont to Mt Gambier for a meeting tomorrow allows me to turn the exercise into a caching run over and back. Got a few caches on the definite list including earth caches, a couple of oldies and some past nominations for cache of the year awards.
A big red one this one, almost like a bit chunk of Swiss cheese. A nice side trip off the main highway.
Thanks for placing this cache Na'wal

Logging with permission. I was out and about on a quest to take some photos of the region for my blog and this cache tied in perfectly with the topic under discussion, so I was very keen to get up to GZ for a look. I parked below and spent a good while snapping away at the amazing landscape before finding the nearby Trad and noting the relevant information. I then spent a while playing chasey with a Nankeen Kestrel who was being a little camera shy before heading off to view the lake from a different angle and take in some more of the geology of this fascinating region.
Thanks Na'wal for showing me this great spot! A fave from me !

7th find for today on the 3rd day of our road trip from Melbourne to Adelaide via the great ocean road. We will of spent 9 days travelling between Melbourne and Adelaide with many of those days being in the vicinity of the great ocean road using earth caches to guide us through this geological wonderland.
Today we are doing the harvest trail and heading up to Colac to see the salt pans. One of which murdered my ankle as I tempted to climb down the basalt rocks onto the dry pan. Owwww... was limping for 2 days but fought through the pain to obtain more caches and my first FTF.
Another geological wonder in the state of Victoria. I love the depressions where the water has no way out but down into the fissures below the surface. And to think that all that soils has been transported through those fissures without blocking.
Thank you for this earth cache

Visited in Nov, but just got around to emailing answers through and logging. Lovely spot with interesting scenery. Thanks
We visited this Earthcache in company with Pommystacker. Questions duly answered and email sent to Na'wal -- thanks for the speedy reply and for bringing us to this interesting geology.
Catching up with some late logs.
We were coming back from Portland and we made a detour off the highway to grab the three caches here, this one being the main reason as we always enjoy earth caches and this one was no exception as we enjoyed collecting the information whilst taking in the local scenery.
We were given quick permission to log.
Thanks Na'wal, a favourite from us.
