At long last. I'm sure that wasn't there the last time I looked! Just as I found it the rain got heavy and I realised I forgot my pen so logging in the car and waiting for the rain to ease so I can return the cache to its hide. Thanks, drawp.

Day 12 of my 2020 NZE (New Zealand Experience).
(My apologies for the delayed logging but I'm in catch-up mode)

Seeing as I can't be in America right now, I'm touring around the South Island instead. During my time here I am aiming to find as many of the TMGT caches as I can (preferably all 41) and also as many Virtuals, Earthcaches and Letterbox Hybrids as possible, plus any Trads or others that will fill a hole in my D/T grid, my Jasmer grid, or else the last 3 remaining Hidden Dates on that grid.

Today's plan was to drive from Timaru down to Dunedin, following the coast but with plenty of side trips to get caches targeted as per above. I have been so lucky to have dry conditions my whole trip so far, with the sun really putting in an effort to convince me it wasn't winter! I didn't mind the chilly starts knowing that the rest of the day was going to be great caching conditions.

Parking up on the side of the road, I was able to walk over to GZ to conduct my search. I had a look around to see if I was being observed by any residents, but there was no-one to wave to today. I had no problems finding the cache, and there were no issues with either it or the log so once signed everything was replaced back exactly as found and I was on my way again.

Thanks for placing this Cache.

30-Dec-18
Quick easy find on a stunning Oamaru day. TFTC Smile

30-Dec-18
Had stayed the night at the father in law's before doing some caching around the cape. Father in law called to say we had left our toilet bag behind. Went back to collect, their Home Sweet Home was just around the corner, and ironically our cacher friend from Invercargill had just pulled up at Iona's HSH as well. Cache quickly found together, logged and rehidden, before showing Mrs Hazzer some Oamaru sights.

30-Dec-18
Met up with Mrs Hazzer while she was in town and grabbed this one. We all spent a successful afternoon catching in the scorching heat. Summer is awesome! TFTC

07-Nov-18
Awesome hide. No people to wave at today but its a awesome location

07-Nov-18
Nice home thanks for the cache

07-Nov-18
Love this waved to an elderly man

29-Oct-18
Mumander suggested this cache as it wasn’t far off from our walk, I pointed out that the previous attempts were DNFs but we decided we might as well try anyway as we were close. We’d stopped in Oamaru for a night on our way north from North Invercargill and were having a geocaching walk to stretch our legs. Mumander made a super quick find so we were glad we attempted this one after all. Thanks

29-Oct-18
We were staying overnight in Oamaru to catch up with my brothers and went out for a walk To look for some caches. I was born in Oamaru and grew up in Windsor and left in 1967 to go to work in Dunedin. I now live in Invercargill but I have 3 brothers living around Oamaru. I was travelling with my husband, daughter and grandson.
My daughter and grandson live in London and were home for a short visit during mid term break. Thanks for the cache and have a great day.

25-Aug-18
Another visit, another dnf. I must be doing something wrong here. Not the best start to an extended weekend.

13-Jul-18
Tried to find this at the geofest but failed. And failed again today. Will this become the bane of my life?!

08-Jul-18
came out today with the sole intention of claiming the last hidden creatures souvenir and this cache got me there TFTC Mr DRAWP

Up for business, thought grab some caches on the way home. TFTC.

18-Nov-17
Found it!

11-Nov-17
Up in Oamaru for day #1 of the Oamaru geofest. Out with Sirbennis and KJR grabbing lots of caches. TFTC

02-Nov-17
Jeepers creepers! Its a 200ml sistema! It's a D1.5! It should NOT take this long!! But it did. I think the many eyes of the Seagnoid were on strike today, and the sharp eyes of the dragon were blunt.
But we got it, and that's what counts Big Grin. Found with Taybeedragon.

23-Oct-17
With the Oamaru Geofest 2017 over, it was time to make my way back to Dunedin for a few more days. Still had time to find a few more caches today.
This one took a little while to find but finally found it in the end.
Took a seat in the rain to sign the logbook.
No-one was watching me as they were probably having a nice warm cuppa on such a rainy day.
TFTC

23-Oct-17

The end of the Oamaru Geofest, all packed up last night and now in the downpour my turn to go out and hunt out some caches. Think am now too wet, cold plus the recent elec shock means I'll hit the road home now after searching here for 9mins with no luck.

Thank you to you a local CO for putting and maintaining so many which helps draw attendees.

Was searching around when a couple of our overseas cachers came to look as well. They have an interesting thing that happens when someone finds a cache. They sit down (if possible) and stop looking until everyone has found it. Bet this made the residents wonder what was going on but then I didn't see any faces at the windows today. Hmm wonder how my mother is doing at her rest home?

21-Oct-17
The day for the big event has arrived and we went to the street for the walk there, with some caches along the way.
Here we meet another cacher who has been searching for a while. Now three people should help but it still took a while getting it. Seems a little bit off.

21-Oct-17
Quick park and grab. Found with Gadget and K.J.R. TFTC

In Oamaru for the 2017 Geofest Our second day and a drive through to Omarama was planed and a lot of caches on the way. As it was the Geofest we bumped into fellow geocachers as well as a few muggles along the way. We were travelling with Keylev, UncleSam, Stik-a-Crane so to save log paper signed as Team SEAC 17.

Thanks to all the COs for the caches along the route.

All in good order, thanks for the cache.

21-Oct-17
After having dinner at a nearby establishment, we had a bit of time to fill in before the quiz evening started. As it was still light, but the road traffic minimal, this was a good candidate. I spotted, StreetWalker retrieved, as he was the closer to it. TFTC.

Heading towards the Oamaru Geofest.
I crossed the great Waitaki and began caching in earnest, wending my way towards the Challenge Caches.
Challenges complete it was time to head into town.
I didn't enjoy going onto private property to get this one.
A nice new log and container was found quite quickly.

Bbear44 and I were spending the weekend in Oamaru getting things organised for the geofest.
We were heading back from our bike ride. We decided to take a seat and look for the cache. We maDe it harder than it was. The logbook was soaked.
Find out more about New Zealand's next big event [Oamaru Geofest](http://oamarugeofest2017.wixsite.com/geocachingevent) and come and join us.

Thanks. drawp for putting in the effort to hide this geocache. This was find 5068 for me.
