Logs
I had a lot of fun creating this series, and have fond memories of building and placing them all. From the logs and feedback cachers enjoy their You Yangs outings as much as I do.
With just a single find during 2019 the series has seemingly served its purpose.
Thank you to everyone to found these caches over the past six years.

While this was found months ago the busy day was held yesterday at the mega! A mega, normal event, cito, virtual, lab, letterbox, wherigo, multi, trad and mystery all in one day! 16 hour car ride in good company and over 100 caches found. A busy day indeed. Tftc!
It is wonderful to see we qualify for this Challenge Cache, our next challenge is to do another trip across the Nullabor and find some more Challenge Caches on the Eastern Seaboard.

An early morning start out into the You Yangs with Spiffy- to collect some caches and a challenge we have been working on. Plans went astray with the rain overnight closing roads in the park so we resorted to some freestyle caches. I managed this challenge back on the Casey Fields Mega day.
Thanks ThePacman for the cache.

Found on 30 Jun 2019 at 10:19 am.
We have been meaning to come to the You Yangs park for some time so we had a fair few hours to today so Fleabag- and I decided to concentrate on the main loop and the 100's & 1,000's challenge cache but when we arrived the whole road was closed off due to yesterday's heavy rain. Oh well, we headed off for some different ones since I have never been in this area and there were plenty of other caches to look for.
Ah, good memories of the Cranbourne Casey Fields Mega. Huge day when I did 11 types in one day. What a day that was, thanks for memories.
Thanks ThePacman for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Found while out on a solo caching day. Plan was to, finally, grab the 2 mystery trails near Lara, as I've had them solved for some time now. And then to head into the YouYangs to grab some smilies around the Great Circle Dr and to finish off caching at an event.
Oh and grab the odd cache thay pops up on the GPSr.
With the stinking heat n gail force winds, it was quite the interesting day. A couple of snakes, lots of lizards, and quite a big fire near Little River to keep an eye on.
All making a memorable solo caching trip, around the area.
Happily I qualify for this challenge.
Back at the Murray Bridge Mega, 20-04-2014, I got 12 cache types in a day, (sadly lab caches still dont show up in the stats)
Photo added for proof.

At last years Mega in Alexandra I managed to grab 11 cache types, without a waymarking or LAB cache being included...
Please find attached a screenshot taken from my project-gc.com stats...
Cache was found outside of it's hide, animal muggles?
Thanks

Out with au.fait, we were on a mission to find six different types of caches in one day. We had success, and a busy day completing this challenge.
I signed the log and left a note on 22/7/18 but today log a find. I include a photo to show the finds. Thanks The Pacman for this great challenge.

On a most delightful winters day I was out enjoying the You Yangs area in the wonderful company of echidna44 and xambo4u. We met up early for what turned out to be an excellent day of caching and good company. The quality of the caches was outstanding due in no small part to the work that had gone into their construction. I found 38 caches and not a single DNF which was very satisfying. I qualified for this by finding not only 6 but 8 different cache types in a day when I was attending the Murray Bridge Mega in 2014
Thanks The Pacman
Thanks The Pacman
Out with au.fait & xambo4u, I signed the log, ready for the day I meet the challenge. I was disappointed as we had downloaded the Wherigo but could not get it to work (none of us had ever used it before). I look forward to meeting the challenge one day.
Out and about for the day with echidna44 and au.fait to do a You Yang trail. Picked a nice one with a little sun and not much wind. We have left the cyclists and joggers now. Very surprised the condition of the road we are driving, Quick find here but do not quality to log. Thanks for the great journey The Pacman
Decided today was the day to complete the YYCD series. The weather was beautiful and very little muggle activity, made for a great day of caching up here. Glad l had the AWD as some of the track was pretty rugged in some areas. All caches located and coords very accurate.
Thanks ThePacman for a terrific series.
Yay! l managed to achieve the requirements of this puzzle. Thanks again for the great series. Really well executed.

Late last night (or was it early this morning) I was looking at the map and contemplating whether I wanted to drive to Geelong to pick up a part for my r/c car and then do some geocaching on the way back. My interest was piqued by the You Yangs series and the variety and so a plan was hatched.
Cut to 12:30pm and I have arrived at GZ ready and raring to hunt down the elusive tupperware containers!
29th Cache - a bit of a circle to find that cache, but soon I was able to sign it and return it securely.
Here are the caches that I am using to claim this cache...(these were all found 6/7/18)
1. Traditional cache: YYCD #6 - Bicycle Boardwalk
2. Letterbox cache: YYCD #5 - Letters from Vietnam
3. Multi cache: YYCD #12 - Projection Prediction
4. Earth cache: YYCD #11 - Devil's Marble Earthcache
5. Mystery cache: YYCD #23 - Fool's Gully
6. Wherigo cache: YYCD #28 - The You Yangs Monster
This is my first challenge cache completed, so thanks for the opportunity!

We were out and about today hunting down the final souvenir that had eluded us. Where better to search for a Hidden Creature, than in the YouYangs. Will add proof of challenge when we get home.
Thanks for placing YYCD #29 - Busy Day Challenge so we could find it. Many thanks ThePacman for the caching fun.

We had planned to go to Geelong for a day of caching - but a detour on the way to do a nearby cache with high favourite points got us off the highway. With the You Yangs visibile we thought it was time to finish of this series that we had sampled (the first three caches) way back in August 2016. We had been meaning to get back after enjoying the start of the series and so today was the day.
What a fanstastic series with such a great variety of hides, cache types and sizes.
Today the area was buzzing with mountain bikers which I suspect it is most weekends.
We had a fantastic day and managed to see stacks of kangaroos and even one koala! We also had a little scare with the car brakes but we lived to tell the tale.
The quality of these caches and camo is amazing. Thanks ThePacman for putting out and maintaining this fun series for cachers to enjoy. And a fantastic location of course.

Curiously enough, I found 6 caches types in one day for the first time just a few weeks ago [January 26th 2018]. These are not are the sort of challenges I find myself consciously trying to complete, and it came about entirely by chance on that occasion. Finding the challenge cache itself took a little bit of doing, mainly because we took a somewhat indirect route through the foliage. Thanks for the cache, ThePacman!

One of the plans for our holidays in the area, was checking out the You Yangs, and when seeing this trail of caches, we thought we would spend the afternoon doing this trail on foot. We started at 1pm and finished just after 5pm, walking 13.6km and found 27 of the 30 caches.
Certainly enjoyed the whole series here and with the different types of caches available. Before doing this series, we would not have qualified for this challenge cache, but glad we do now.
Thanks for the cache The Pacman

Cache found super quick as I promised I would finish here, the children were relieved.
We were a bit distracted by all the plants that smelled just like curry round here . It smelled delicious!
On the way home I saw a flock of pelicans fly right over my car, which was a: magnificent and b: a bit worrisome- how much poop would come out of one of those things? A lot, I'll bet! What if all those massive birds let go, onto my windscreen? Shivers! They didn't.
On the car journeys we listened to an audio book - Morris Glietzman's Two weeks with the queen. It was borrowed from the library for the children to listen to, but in all honesty, it made me weep, real tears, while I listened, as the well constructed story was just so sad, and so thought provoking.
Thanks for a terrific day out - I will be back - I have pacman business to attend to, out there in those hills.
Till next time - V and all the children.

**The Challenge**
When I checked on the challenge checker, I was surprised to see this one I had qualified for & I was so very pleased it was in an area, I knew we would be coming back to at some stage. I feel exhausted just thinking about the day. I decided it would be really great to have lots of icons in one line of my stats/profile page. **WHAT A DAY**. I was so very excited at the venture that I could barely sleep. I had only been caching for 7 months, so I was learning a lot (and I still am learning). I had no idea if it was even possible. I remember watching the fireworks at the end of the day, thinking ...... yep this about tops off my very incredible day of caching .... yet it was so very rewarding. All on the 14th November 2015

Well, we had intended to do one older cache in Geelong as we literally drove past it & we had all intentions of doing the 30 caches in this series but we couldn't find the circle drive road. So we walked to just the 2 , I really wanted. The needle and co-ordinates were spot on & it felt ever so nice to sign this logbook as the day meant a lot to me. I LOVE the concept of this series. Giving everyone the opportunity to experience all types of caches in such a great, safe area. Congratulations on the series & I really look forward to finishing off this series.

Today we made our way to Anglesea for the Mega Event, including the official opening, and of course those elusive lab caches, before heading back to Geelong to the tackle the Its Puzzle Time series, and a pleasant drive through the You Yangs. And to make it a long and productive day, some night caching along Portarlington Road to finish things off!
Thanks ThePacman for putting out the cache and the hunt!

The day of the Surf Coast Mega had finally arrived. We (Gunnie69, The Green Geckos, Ghost Gums and myself) had teamed up for an assault on some carefully chosen puzzles caches (read that as the ones we were actually able to solve), earth caches, challenges, letterboxes and a smattering of other caches thrown into the mix to make it more interesting. Quality, not quantity was our mantra on this quest. But it still hurt to have to leave so many left unfound...
Having started today a little later than we had intended, we were trying to make up for lost time this morning and still make it to the mega in a timely manner. But somehow we kept getting sidetracked by unusual DT combos and such, but we still got there for the formalities, just. And as is usually the case when attending big events interstate, I was torn between wanting to mingle and socialise longer at the main event, or get back out there and do some more caching. The lure of the smileys won out and all too soon, we were back on the road again, tracking down all the lab caches that were on offer.
This was one of the challenge caches that was on our hit list and then went out and found whilst in the area. No problems finding the cache either. Thanks for the challenge and for placing and maintaining the cache ThePacman. Hopefully I will return to this area sometime in the future when I have more time to explore and enjoy everything it has to offer more then...
Am pretty sure I qualified for this one back in April 2014 when I achieved 12 cache types in a day:
1. Puzzle Cache GLE26EYP Oz Mega 2014 #42
2. Wherigo Cache GC3B659 A cache is a cache is a cache is a cache
3. Webcam Cache GCHFT6 $2 Freddo Cam $2 Freddo Cam

7. Flash Mob GC502HZ Kookaburra Flash Mob
8. Earthcache GC4NJ2J Sturt Reserve Granites

11. Mega Event GC3X0X4 Oz Mega 2014 Murray Bridge
12. Lab Cache GC***** The Bunyip
A few busy caching days in the past ensured this was easily qualified for me. So, while in the area for the Mega Event this weekend, it was a must grab to add to the challenge list... [^]
In the Company of Ghostgums, The Green Geckos and Mistraluna, we made our way to GZ and secured the find nice and quickly. Addition of our sticker to the log completed one part of the formalities. The other part is sorted through a couple of images attached to this log... During the Christchurch mega weekend in NZ, a raft of us finally had the opportunity to pick up a full suite of 12 cache types. I previously had 11 from Murray Bridge, but it was nice to get the twelth last year.
Thanks the the challenge cache and another nice hiding spot. We enjoyed the drive around the range.
Cheers Pacman.

Janet and I are here for the Anglesea Surf Coast Mega. This was one of the caches we found during the weekend.
At various times we cached with Freddo,* Cache_or_Check*, and Moun10bike. This one was found as a group while out caching in the You Yangs.
We have found 11 types on one day as per Project GC on November 14 2015

A big day out with Freddo, Brad&Janet and Moun10bike whilst at the Anglesea Mega.
After Moun10Bike and Brad&Janet left our touring party, Freddo and I picked 4 more caches to do in the YYCD series. Naturally this mystery cache wasn’t skipped and after a short search two more names were in the book. It had been a busy day thus far indeed, but it was time for us to leave the You Yangs and focus on some other cache areas.
Thank you Pacman for a great series!

We took our very first trip to the beautiful You Yangs today.
We only had time for the cricle drive and the nice weather meant it was a lovely drive.
The quality of the caches here were just amazing, you have certainly put a lot of effort into not only the hides but the locations.

Found the cache, and on the basis of doing this wonderful You Yangs Circle Drive run today, I think I qualified (all completed on 14 July, 2015--with geokids!):
Traditional [YYCD #1 - Start](https://coord.info/GC58C0D)
Letterbox [YYCD #5 - Letters from Vietnam](https://coord.info/GC58C0V)
Multicache [YYCD #7 - Cycling Junction](https://coord.info/GC58C13)

Mystery [YYCD #14 - Gravel Pit Tor](https://coord.info/GC58C1K)
Wherigo [YYCD #28 - The You Yangs Monster](https://coord.info/GC58C2X)--which I've favorited
Loved this run so much! The geokids and I had a blast doing this circle on a relatively unoccupied day. Would definitely recommend this to others! One more to go...

Wherigo [YYCD #28 - The You Yangs Monster](https://coord.info/GC58C2X)--which I've favorited
Loved this run so much! The geokids and I had a blast doing this circle on a relatively unoccupied day. Would definitely recommend this to others! One more to go...

I found 8 types on 1/8/2015 and qualify again today.
With 2 events in Geelong we (myself, becca85, neisha07 & Muggle Dad) decided to go along and make the most of our day.
We spent the morning doing the awesome You Yangs series, finsihing just in time to get to te lunch time event. The arvo was spent catching up GemmaSistema & wozzle68 to grab a few challenge caches along the water. Muggle Dad had to climb some trees, was fun!
We finished off our day with a great evening event and one more cache by torchlight with a muggle friend.
A great day, can't wait to come back this way again another day!

We (neisha07, boo09 & I) have had this series on our to-do list for a while and with 2 events on in Lara today, we decided that today was the perfect day for it! With a 2 hour drive to get here and a time restraint so we could get to event #1, I had made sure to solve the quick puzzles and the projection multi, loaded the Whereigo and packed the family stamp in preparation.
We talked Muggle husband/Dad into joining us (mainly so he could drive while I navigated, Sshhh!), packed a picnic lunch and set our alarms for 7 for an 8am leave here and 10am start. Yeah right. Anyone who knows me would not be surprised to find out we got to #1 at 10.55am.
We made great time though, completing all 30 and finishing up at 2.10pm including a 15 minute lunch break.
All up this was a brilliant series that we all enjoyed, even muggle Dad for the most part! We started bribing him with treats around about #18.
Huge Thanks to ThePacman for the hard work that has gone into the creation and maintenance of this series.

This is definitely my favourite series so far! In saying that though, I haven't done very many series. We weren't able to complete all the caches in one go as we started too late and didn't want to complete them in the dark. But definitely will come back to get the rest of them as I have loved every single one. I understand why they all have so many favourite points. I am super impressed by pacmans work. So much thought and detail has gone into every single one of these.
I managed to get my six different types of caches in a day today. They are the following:
1. Wherigo - GC58C2X - you yangs monster
2. Mystery - GC58C2E - fools gully
3. Traditional - GC58C1E - what volcano?
4. Multi - GC58C1D - projection prediction
5. Earth - GC58C1C - Devils marbles
6. Letter box - GC5D7JF - admit one zoo series

What a day this has been! Time was running short so unfortunately we had to skip most of the YYCD series, but still managed to get the 6 different cache types required for the successful completion of this one. So the ones I got today are as follows, also, please note that all are found on 29/4/2016:

Rokmum and I are off for a girls weekend caching and relaxing! This series was the focus of our stay, yesterday we did the question mark of puzzles and today we had this little gem in our sights!
We had a great day cruising around the you yangs, was quite surprised by area, it's a lot drier and less foresty (yes that's a word) than I expected. Sooo many crazy mountain bike riders dicing with death as they hurtle down the hill at a million miles an hour.
Busy day indeed! Awesome day too! Was great to get to do so many different caches in one day. Fantastic series!!!! Thanks heaps!!

LegoHeads and I headed out for our well deserved girl's weekend away. We've been planning this trip for a while and had completed all the puzzles in preparation. So pleased we were to have managed to successfully complete this series of great puzzles, that clearly have had such a lot of work put in to them. The puzzles themselves were great fun to do, but finding them proved to be so enjoyable! Such an amazing place the You Yangs are. We saw some amazing places and had a wonderful adventure. The caches were all very well constructed, and clearly a lot of time and dedication went in to building them. Thank you so much to Pacman for your efforts. We've had a brilliant weekend away!
We managed to get all six types today with just the YYCD series -
Traditional, Multi, Puzzle/Mystery, Letterbox, Earth cache and Whereigo.
All so much fun! Thank you.

We completed all the caches in this series today, with Flaggy's, bar one... but it was a traditional, so it didn't matter. Therefore, we qualify for completion of this challenge!! Yay us!! Tftc.
Completed the challenge today with the Larafolk. Complete all on this series except one but it was a traditional one
Decided to accept the six cache types in one day challenge and the You Yangs seems the place to do it; perhaps deliberately set up that way? With multiple options to make the attempt with we chose what appeared to be the easiest options:
20/03/2016 Wherigo Cache YYCD #28 - The You Yangs Monster
20/03/2016 Multi-cache YYCD #7 - Cycling Junction
20/03/2016 Earthcache Big Rock Earthcache
20/03/2016 Letterbox Hybrid Clock King ~ The Batman Series
20/03/2016 Traditional Cache The Gateway of Caching
20/03/2016 Unknown Cache It's Puzzle Time - #6 Dancing Men
Despite some Twitters nearby the cache find itself was pretty straight forward; thanks for making get off our proverbial and plan this caching day.

Thank you Pacman for this great series. I appreciate your thoughtfulness that has gone into each of these caches. As a result, each of them was enjoyable. Some of these well camouflaged caches challenged my powers of observation for quite some time. The park was very quiet today so I wasn’t interrupted at all during the searching process. I would highly recommend this series to all.

While travelling with Mutex I’ve found a lot of caches all over Australia. You know, I like the discovering, especially in nature, but am not that much intopcs and internet ..and logging. So we spend a whole day together to indicate all the caches we found together out of his list. Hope you don't mind the standard text aslazy me has to log quitea few now. HopefullyI'm gonnawork on that
Thanks!

While spending 16 months abroad, travelling through all states of Australia and also having a two months break in Thailand I did a lot of geocaching.
After many, many caches accompanied by the strong will not to write any standard logs, I ended up with more than 700 finds, all waiting for an official log. After intense considerations and carefully weighing my options, you now receive this special limited edition numbered log.

You Yangs National Park Cache #47/77
Being in Melbourne all the time gets a little boring after a while. So DieRooneys, Mutex, Pfote and I decided that we should leave Melbourne for the weekend. We had a look at the geocaching map and the You Yangs National Park seemed just perfect. Heaps of geocaches with good ratings, camping spot nearby and it wasn't too far away from Melbourne
We started on Saturday with the northern part of the zoo series and did roughly three quarters. We found all 19 caches we were looking for this day and they were amazing!
Really cute ones, cool ideas, everyone was different. I haven’t had so much fun geocaching in a very long time! Thanks Na’wal for your creative zoo caches!
And after having a good night’s rest in Little River we were fit for another day. We did the whole You Yangs Circle Drive today and found all of the caches. And there was even some time left for an earthcache and two traditionals afterwards which makes a total of 32 caches for me today (I already found YYCD #3 on another day). Thanks a lot ThePacman for crafting so many perfectly camouflaged caches!
We let the evening end with an awesome burger dinner buffet. Since it was already dark we were wearing head torches But I think that’s how it should be on a good camping trip
DieRooneys and Pfote went to bed earlier than Mutex and me. We decided that there was still some time for a little mystery solving battle. We were puzzling till 3 am and managed to solve seventeen of the ‘It’s puzzle time’ mysteries. Today, on Monday we did the outdoor finding part
Even though our last day was broiling hot (maybe the hottest day I experienced so far) we found all mysteries we solved the night before, the rest of the zoo series and two traditionals on the way, 26 caches in total.
Thanks TR! for so many different mysteries. We had a lot of fun solving them!
It was an incredible weekend thanks to all owners and my amazing companionship!
But the highlight was that we’ve seen a wild Koala relaxing in a tree after finding our last cache for the day

Thanks a lot for taking care of this cache, showing me this place and turning my travels into an adventure!

After a night in Little River we did the next Cache tour at You Yangs. The team consisted of Theatralis, Pfote, mutex and I. The main part of the tour we drove with out two cars. In between we parked our cars and walked a part by foot. This Series and the Zoo Series make the You Yangs park to something special. The whole park is full of perfekt build caches with perfekt tarned hidings! At the start of my trip through down-under i had no idea how the Australian Owners make her caches. Now i know it and i'm very excited about that! I enjoyed a perfekt cache day in an absolute amazing environment!
Thanks to ThePacman for the amazing installlations and the choice of the places.

Sorry for my terrible english.
At the moment Pfote and me are on a work and travel backpacking trip through the world. After I've spent a full year in Australia Pfote joined me for my second year down here. We will definitely try to collect a lot of boxes and all the special things in every state all around and through the middle.
This later weekend Pfote, Theatralis, Die Roonies and I made a trip to Geelong to cache ourselves through the You Yangs Park.
After we did around three quarters of the zoo series yesterday, we chose the YYCD for today and found all of the caches without any problems.

A quick find here compared to an all day effort on the 10/01/2015.
Although the requirement here is for six types in a day, I submit this as one of my most memorable days since we started geocaching with a total of eight different type on the day.
Culminating with our 1000th find at [hi pressure Celebrating 1000 finds](http://coord.info/GC3AP61)
Since then we have found 13(... or 11 as the case may be ) on the day of the Melbourne Event 2015.
Thanks for the challenge Joe, very much in the spirit of our [Kings and Queens Challenge Cache](http://coord.info/GC4WMFV).

Meet the requirements but need to find the memory card with the photos to log the waymark.
Have logged as a write note rather than find until I sort out the details. Keeps in sequence. TFTCSL
Although not having been able to sign the logbook on this visit, I'm logging this cache as a find because I qualify for the challenge as a result of this visit.

Signed the log and will do a count up of cache types found today when I get home. I think I may be one short at the moment. Maybe I should have done that Wherigo a few hundred metres back up the road but I was too tired to bother with it as I rode past.
As I suspected when I visted this cache when I returned to Geelong I found that I was one cache short of the requirements to be able to treat this cache as found - I needed one further cache type. A quick review of types readily available revealed that the Geelong Waterfront Bollards #3 Wherigo would fit the bill. And so it did after my re-education in the Wherigo how to's.

Unfortunately manzie and I were not able to enjoy a long weekend this weekend like we usually do, so we ditched our usual plans for fun and frivolity and instead headed to the You Yangs. It began as a pretty miserable day but by the end of our journey the sun was out and doing its job quite nicely. The miserable day also meant only the truly insane muggles were out on their bikes, which made for much easier searches, lol. Manzie is usually ready to head home after around 10 finds, however I didn't really hear him complain until the last couple of caches, so you must have done something right ThePacman, lol

Thank you "The Packman" for all the work you put into this series and for the puzzle at the end. With this variety we had an amazing experience.
After getting the Letterbox, we were determined to get the Puzzle towards the end of this series.
Today was a beautiful sunny day. With Geokid doing some film making in the You Yangs we thought we'd grab a cache or 2. We were joined by Arkbell80 and his Geofamily also and we were able to get some cache types we had never attempted before.
TFTC and the series. We'll come back soon to get the rest.
