Was heading up this way and called in to check on this cache as I had found it in the past. I dutifully replaced the log as it was full in preparation for the Mega... came home and couldnt find it on the map... aaah. its been archived, makes sense as the last find was 2017. Oh well, its still there with a brand new log sheet for anyone who is interested.
Found while in the area. It was a great spot for a test on the way up. I will uplift the next time I am in the area. TFTC
Not a good location anyway, will remove and place in a better location on the trail.
A quick find. The cache is nice and dry but it is full. I signed up the top where there was a little space. Cheers.

First find for me in the Dry Creek loop. Nice easy find to start things off. TFTC.
Found on a late afternoon / early evening mountain bike ride around the Dry Creek Loop with a diversion off to Boulder Hill on the way.
Nice quick find - didn't need the hint.

#2115 nice evening stroll after the rain had stopped. Pretty quiet up here this time of night at this time of year.
Thanks for my Park'n'walk'n'grab for the evening and keeping the Leprechaun's Streak alive.
Only a couple log spots left - see photo.
I'm thinking I might get a daytime cache tomorrow

First one on the Dry Creek loop. Took about 15 mins to get here from the car....

Found in seconds, first cache on my dot day. Come on geodogs, onward and upward
#1904. Well that was a slog. Decided to pick up four caches this evening on the paths around this Hutt Valley domain. First time up this track. It was certainly a steady climb. The lower levels had a lot of blackberries beside the path and the bushes were covered in ripe berries. So stopped and filled my face with a fair number before carrying on up the track. Do people not know these are edible? At the top of the rise I spied a likely hiding spot but the GPS soon moved me on and the cache was found nearby. The log was dry. Signed and replaced the cache with a little bit more cover than when I found it. Thanks for the cache.
It was my aim to find 30 caches today, and I had spent the morning up on Mt Climie looking for the new caches at the far end of the ridge. So by midday I only had three of the 30. I then made good progress with the caches I hadn't yet found on the Climie access road and in Tunnel Gully; I got up to 22 by around 3.30, but I needed to find the final 8 quickly so I could be home by 5.30 at the latest.
I'm not really into park and grabs, so I stopped at Dry Creek on the way home - I had seen about a dozen caches on the map on a loop track here and I was hopeful I could get eight of them, even though I knew nothing about the walk. I dumped all my gear - hat and water - surely it's cooling down by 4pm, right? - and only took my GPSr and a pen with me.
Well, with a combination of walking and running (still in my boots from Mt Climie) I completed the loop and found my eight and no more. I couldn't have gone any further though - the car was reporting it was still 28 degrees at 5.30 (cooling down? Nope!) and I was getting more than a tad dehydrated. Very grateful to reach the carpark and complete the goal. I made it home only ten minutes late (and that was due to traffic on the motorway!).
Thankfully all the caches I found were quick finds. This was no. 1 of 8. Funny thing is the name was truncated on my GPSr so I didn't get the hint in the name. Thankfully I didn't really need it. TFTC!

Found it quick n easy as good hint. Cache in good order. GLAD to have this one, TFTC.
A stride up the hill and then find a cache. Another day trip in the Belmont Hills.
A straightforward find once we had huffed and puffed our way to GZ.
All good here. Cache in order; log signed, then safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cache Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

After a bit of scratching around trying to avoid the gorse.. I found the cache.. All In good order. Tftc
Managed to get out for a walk today with Miss Paua Ranger. First one on the loop walk and a nice easy find to start us off. Cache totally dry. TFTC!
A bit of gorse to content with at this cache. I'm on my way around the Dry Creek loop but may not have time to hunt out all the caches. TFTC!
#6446. Parked at the Dry Creek entrance to Belmont Regional Park. A nice circuit round the Dry Creek Loop Walk on a sunny and less windy than expected day. No one else was on the track for the entire journey, except near the car park area. Quick find. The cache was in excellent condition. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log. Thanks for the cache.
A quick look and find signed log book and replaced while on the way to Boulder Hill
#648 found on the way back down the hill after running up it. Good excuse to give the knees a break.
Early start this morning to walk the Dry Creek Loop before I needed to be home to paint the house. Whole area bathed in thick fog this morning and no views anywhere. GPS had me about 20m out today. Probably a combination of fog and nearby power lines. Eventually tracked it down. Number one of nine on the loop today. Thanks for the cache.
Last but not least on the loop today for Mel0n and I. Returned to the car happy, 2 1/4 hours after setting out to do the loop track. TFTC
I have walked run and mountain biked this loop and beyond many many times and it still amazes me that these caches are here and i never knew. earlier on this year I was walking up past the big rata trees and a duck flew along and landed in the tree beside us and being that ducks have webbed feet not claws it is very unusual to see one land in a tree a huge feat of flying ability.

The gale force winds from this morning had eased so we thought we were ok for a big walk. Starting this side seemed easiest but sure puffing! Tftc
I'd been wanting to walk the Dry Creek Loop for a long time. As CaligulaNZ had just had a cache published on the Loop, today seemed like a good day. Mrs B was happy to do a Geocaching walk in the afternoon as we had been busy gardening in the morning, so long as I'd plant a few more plants in the garden for her when we got back. Fair enough. We decided to do the Loop Track clockwise, so this was the first cache we found. Cache was a nice easy find, though the first place I looked seemed suitable too and at first I thought it had been muggled. Happily it was still OK. TFTC
Found while out on a scout walk around the loop. With Metal-art and Jax479. TFTC
Tagged along with the kids on an evening scout walk, a couple of unlogged caches on the way a bonus. CaligulaNZ (FTF) part of the group, as well as metal-art and orsum4sum. Easily located and great to pick up a few caches as a bonus to a pleasant walk - always good to get out and about after a day at the office.
I could not let such a beautiful day pass without finding a cache or two. I have enjoyed my previous visits to this location and it was a similar experience this evening. I expected locating the cache to be easier than it was but it didn't take me long. TFTC.
A quick find while doing the Loop Track. Started too early on a beautiful day as there was ice on the track. TFTC
Was with the CO when this cache was placed, but also up today on a maintenance check for one of my caches and checked in on this one as well. Was a great winter's day for a hike up in the hills. TFTC tmann421
Wanted to try out some new boots and walk off some of the jet lag, so set off up the hill. An enjoyable track as always and the addition of a couple of new caches made this track an incentive. TFTC
Took advantage of clearing weather in the afternoon to go for a walk and hunt this one out for my cache of the day. It was still pretty cold but the 4WD track up the hill from the bottom carpark was sheltered from the south wind so it wasn't too bad and I definitely didn't overheat walking up the hill! Missed the cache on the first pass, found it a few minutes later on a subsequent check. Signed log, TFTC!
*FTF*
Wahoo, another FTF this week! The caching gods must be favouring me for some reason!
Got home from this morning's Wainui Hill CITO event and saw a(nother) cache had been published up here, in an area i know only too well. {No worries tmann421 ... kinda like Mt climie, if certain cachers have been up on the hills you always know new caches are likely to be published. Only adds to the fun if they're spread out over a few days!! }
I was filthy from the CITO, it was three hours since publication, on a reasonably fine Saturday morning - chances of the FTF still being available - slim, desire to give it a crack anyway - high!!! Ya can't be in for the win if you don't attempt it. Geo-kids not interested in coming out again after the CITO, so boots back on and straight out the door.
No cars in the parking area as i arrived - so that was surprise number one. Warmer than expected, but I made good time (reckon Thursday evening's stroll up this way had given the legs and lungs a bit of a loosening up). Lucky me - surprise number two - a blank log book (apart from the "NOT first-to-find log! ).
Took a great deal of pleasure in signing, and taking a photo or two. I have a new mantra ... "No Fear of the First-to-Find Hunt" (see photo attached).
Always enjoy being up here, whether night or day, sun or rain, so thanks for placing another cache up here tmann421. On the way down spotted some fine examples of my favourite native tree (Rewarewa - Knightia excelsa). Luckily the Orsome4some had given me some seedlings this morning to plant.
Got myself down and headed home for a bit of CITO inside and out at home, and did my best to get this log completed within an hour of my actual find (so hopefully that's acceptable!?!? )

Sorry to those that went for the 2 new caches from Just-Lookin.
This should have been published at the same time but I was a little slow at getting it out for the publisher and the others were published without this one.
