A drive around the northern parts of the sunny coast and then venturing up to Howard before then turning around and heading to Maryborough for the night. It was Grannysmith and I on a venture around seeking out off road vehicle attributes for a challenge cache. We both needed a few so it was organised for a nice road trip. The weather was not that nice to us but the fun was driving on the tracks that not many vehicles have been for a while. We ended up clearing fallen trees and large branches on some tracks. We even collected a few stray caches as we passed. It was a fun day and we got in some good memories. Oh that bloke at the end of a unpassable track will never be forgotten Youre a road LOL. This was part of today's journey; thanks for the placement, the logs were signed and the caches replaced as found. If you are seeing this please check out, GCARTY0, see what is planned for October 2025. There is an importance in placing will attends to events. Thanks for supporting geocaching in Australia. ITS A PARTY EVENT!
cluneclan I found your cache The Back Track on 22/4/2024, 10:45AM. This is my find 6577 and find # 2 today. I too decided to walk the last bit. Good decision as the track deteriorated further along then came good. Reached GZ and the cache was soon found after a brief search. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Definitely a 4WD track towards GZ. We walked the last 600m in and found after a short search by Geohubby. Thanks for bringing us here
An interesting drive to this cache. Arrived at GZ for a quick find. Signed the log and returned to where I found it. Thanks cluneclan. All good with this cache.
Almost 2 years unloved! Cache is in good condition, the road not. Do we walked the lat 600 Meters.

Abandoned find as road has been washed out . A few pot holes . Take 4x4 or walk . All the best

Quick run up to Hervey Bay from Beaudesert & back in 24 hours to see the geokiddies under 8's day. Still managed time to grab a few caches in between the mad rush. This was 4 out of16.
So it turns out I entered from the wrong end. Which whilst the track was very rutted, and took some serious line picking to not bottom out our get stuck, but we got there in the end. Was worried that that was the good part of the track but figured I'd cross that hurdle after walking around lost for 20 minutes looking for this damn cache!
Turns out, i was looking at it the whole time, and the track out was in perfect conditition on the way out. Was definately entering the wrong way.
Thanks for the cache **cluneclan**

Another nice drive around this area picking up some caches and this is one we found. The track was interesting sure would not have liked to drive it in my Focus hatchback! Log signed and returned as found. Thanks For the cache Cluneclan
Enjoyed the drive out to this one and once at GZ it was a quick find. Log signed and all returned as found.

Easy find, doing a slightly western loop back to central Queensland

We found the cache but was a very hard location to get to. If you don’t want to walk then this is not for you. If you’re driving then you will need a 4x4.

Caching with RoddyC on our way home from the Kilkivan Newbies/New year events and cleaning up areas as we go.
Someone decided we had to go in and do this one. Even Telstra have been here?

Up in Killivan for the New Year event. My second one. Had lots of fun last year. And how much have I learned since then.
This year I will be caching with my Geoson, Grannysmith1947 and can’t forget The Geodog Miss Millie.
Sorry for the generic post.

11:48:00 AM. No caravan so continued on to grab this cache. A pleasant short drive that we took slowly for the last bit but no muggles. Cache found and log signed. So dry in here but we enjoyed the track. Thanks for the cache cluneclan
A big day out around the Kilikvan area has been on the cards for a while to tidy up many of the smilies left behind after the last catch-up. Co-ords were excellent and containers generally in great shape, making for a fun day if finding. Just needed to look out for the occasional stubborn bovine.

Life has been very busy and it has taken me 3 months to be able to sit down and log these caches - you can't rush these things . This is how the story goes...
bb and I are on a road trip to Bargara for a couple of days away from family, work and our busy lives to just go caching Our second cache for the day and a last minute inclusion because it had an attribute that bb is chasing for a challenge. As we don't really need to be anywhere in a hurry, it's fun to be able to take an unexpected detour. This really is a track, I'm glad I decided to take the Big Blue Truck on our Bargara adventure and not the mini, otherwise we would have had a much longer walk. It didn't take us long to search this one out and we couldn't believe that it hadn't been found for over a year. Woot! Woot! I love finding unloved caches. TFTC cluneclan, you've put it in a lovely spot

I am traveling a very zigzag route to QOGM in Barcaldine. I have been unwell, so delayed the start of my trip by several days. Yesterday, I arrived in Gympie and spent the night there. Today, I am setting off for Eidsvold. I tried to access this cache from one direction but wasn't sure that my geomobile would make it. Discretion was the better part of valour and I tried from the opposite direction. Success!!!! After signing the log, I returned the cacche to its spot and continued on my way. TFTC
Talk about an app fail.
I had tried to approach this one from Sexton Road. I got 100m or so by the time I sniffed something was very wrong. The road before me was atrocious. I had read in the description this should be somewhat of a 2WD road. The only way this is a 2WD road is if it is for 2WD motorbikes. U turn.
I had not seen any waypoint listed in the app - yet I clearly see on the website
Anyway - around I go... past a sign saying the road isn't maintained by Gympie Regional Council. Err.. you don't say? Whilst this road is a lot better than approaching from the Sexton side, I don't think I'd be in a hurry to put a 2WD down here either.
But it was no problem for the Pajero. I eventually pulled up at GZ.
It took an embarrassingly long time to find this one - but I eventually got there. As previously mentioned, the container is quite sad - but the outer baggie has kept everything dry. I signed the log and and re-hid the cache a little better (pretty obvious to muggle eyes - but apparently not cacher's eyes ).
Back I go. Bounce, bounce, bounce. Yeah - I just wouldn't take a 2WD I loved on this road. Things may have changed in the past 4 years that this cache has lived.
A great little place to visit and good to stretch the Pajero's legs. TFTC cluneclan

First cache of the day on our way to Kingaroy for 3 nights. So glad we had a 4 wheel drive as the road was quite bumpy in places, think the track might have deteriorated recently. TFTC cluneclan
After the New Years Widgee event, we had an early start, hoping to grab a swag of caches and beat the inevitable car park on the Bruce Highway later in the day.
An interesting side track here, which hasn't been maintained recently. No trouble making the find - it seems we upset the ants and the spiders though.
Thanks for the cache, cluneclan

Day two of the New Years Widgee Bromance Extravaganza (NYWBE) and we scoot north from the Newbies Event in Widgee to grab a few outliers that twinkle our fancy. Nothing too onerous, and lots of fun. Always remembering that there may be some serious traffic on the way home for the end of holiday long weekends.
How could we resist with a cache name like that! The best bit was the constant schoolboy giggles of the more immature in the car!
Some creative work got us close to the cache, but not until a dirty great big spiders web had all but covered my car and windscreen - all in perfect web pattern. All I can suggest is do not try and use the windscreen wipers to get rid of a sticky cobweb!
All is well with the cache,

After a day of 4WDing through Wrattens National Park, the back track taken to reach this cache was a doddle for the Zoomin' Shroom. The only hiccup was Swellerfungus parking on top of an ants nest so with the residents stirred up, a quick move of the car was required before we could jump back in safely. TFTC
After the rain I would not drive a car to GZ 4WD was needed to get through creek bed . Taken the travel bug .
I bounced the geomobile up the hill from the hall today,
to find this cache
And in a quiet spot,
on a quiet track,
I quietly found the cache

Nice to get away from Maryborough for the day and get a few caches in this lovely part of Queensland. Thanks to cluneclan for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Found with a group of cachers during the Widgee event.

Out with wombles and co at the 2017 cacheup with the newbies event for a weekend of fun camping and of course caching we joined up with some other cachers Sew Rainbow, Livin_in_oz, Slow Puncture and Echocage1. This was a milestone cache for my friend and some of us had a higher clearance and got through ok so as long as you have a SUV or 4WD you can get through TFTC
Out with Wombles and co., Rhobocacher, Slow Puncture, Livid_in_Oz and Sew Rainbow although the last two had to go back and wait at the top of the hill as their little sedan was grounding out half way down. Slow and steady driving got us to GZ and the log was signed. Container was a little damp but log OK. All fixed up now. TFTC Clune Clan. xxx

We continued up the road. She was very rough but 4x4 got through easy

Out and about with Sweet-Sour today and after completing the caches in the Brooyar State Forest, we decided to grab a few nearby ones on the way home.
We pulled into an appropriate parking spot and I made my way to GZ and soon had located the cache.
The log was signed and returned to the cache and the cache replaced exactly as found.
There was water in this container however the log was OK.
The water was tipped out and the remainder of the contents dried and returned to the cache.
Find #516.

Emptied the water and removed gunk. Signed the still dry logsheet 8:15 am and replaced where found.

Found at 13.48 hrs. Headed off on a day of geocaching around the Gunalda Area. I have seen many caches popup at different times and it looks like a nice area to explore. With smoko and lunch packed we were off. This was our 20th for the day.

T-Tech, Brother Colin and I are camping at Brooyar for the weekend, and today BC and I are each hunting a big milestone! But first we needed a few finds to get the numbers right, so a bit of a long road trip was taken around this area.
Quite a few ants got a little annoyed here as we parked the car right on top of their huge nest! While T-Tech was moving the car, BC made a quick find. TFTC, Clune Clan.

IolantheK, T-tech and myself are camping at Glastonbury Creek campsite for the week-end and to do some caching around the region as well.
I have to find the last to warrior caches so I can find the final for a major milestone. but I also need a couple of local caches to get those numbers ... just right.
We parked close to GZ ... then promptly moved the car as there is a BIG ant nest in the middle of the road right there. A short search and the cache was found. [^]
Now onto the last warrior. [^]
Thanks for the cache.

Drove down the dirt track from the previous hide and saw the two trees just to the right of the track. Parked off the road in a very safe spot. Started my search and looked in all the obvious spots close to the indicated GZ and could not find anything. I do not know if Tomuda, the last cacher to log a find, was serious with that comment because when I found it I could not believe anything could have pushed it out. I am 176cm tall and it was just at my extended reach. Very good cammo and the co ordinates are not that far out. you just have to find the right bit of nature to search. TFTC cluneclan
I do like driving down dirt tracks, after heavy rain it could be a problem in one spot for a 2wd but i dont think we will be getting some any time soon, and if that was the case it wouldnt be a bad walk from the sealed section of road.
Nice big parking area near gz and so many places to hide a geocache........our third for the day so we set off to see who could find it first, we looked in the most obvious place and it wasnt to be hmmm, expanding the seach area a little and there it was is plain sight??? i think something may be living in its hiding spot and pushed it out. We signed the log and placed it back with a little cover.
Thats 2 -1 to me.

Arrived on site with Fairy Mother already there , "found it yet? [:o)]" "NO [:(!]" came the reply. "how long have you been here? [:o)] " "10 minutes [:(!]" " then there's still a chance for the FTF " I then got serious.
Checked [^] out the clue, and had it on compass, got to be around here

I was sitting at the computer when this cache was published so I thought I had a chance at FTF...as long as Sweet-Sour hadn't heard about it yet. The race was on. Grabbed my GeoDog , Charlie, GPS, GeoBag of tricks and off we go. No Sweet-Sour in sight....so far....found ground zero and started the search....come on where are you ????
