Article in paper this week says the council hopes to rebuild the room and make it more vandal proof. Roof is in storage.

Went for an evening walk and didn't find a cache but, wait for it, also didn't find a room! The whole thing has gone, cut off at the concrete pad, so I assume the cache is gone with it?

OMG seems I have no choice but to archive this one.

Quick find on a lovely stroll. Be advised magnet is gone, but but cache retains its high level of security. Smile

TaybeeDragon and I are in Nelson checking out a 4WD to buy. Bring it back clean the sales yard says, when we set off for a test drive. But I wanted to check its 4wd capabilities, esp as it only has a 660cc engine. Yeah, tiny! But it performed great, so we returned it, washed it, booked it for a mechanical check. Still time to go caching!
So up into the hills we go. Just a short circuit. Was kinda amazed at the amount of grass here, and it sure makes for nice views!

High jacked The Seagnoid for a trip to Nelson to test drive a mini-dink 4wd vehicle and possibly time for some caching. Morning spent test driving out back Richmond & trying to get vehicle inspected. After scrubbing of the extra mud at the car yard, we now have time to find treasure.
Onwards to this amazing view on a clear sunny winter day. Well named. Another find for me. Cheers

Yay it's the weekend, and a long weekend at that. Parade on Monday for Anzac observance and need to think about packing up the house for our forthcoming move into Blenheim 'city'. But first, a trip over the hill for mrs capperz and nightowl19 to get some shopping and me and Tally the geodog to get some caches. A day that had threatened rain and unsettled weather failed to deliver thankfully so it was t-shirt weather again.
As I slowly but surely expand my caching horizons I've been looking at the top of Richmond for a while now as my next caching target. I usually get a couple of hours caching whilst the girls go to the shops and that's enough for Tally and I to make a dent in the available caches around.
Up the hill we head and wow, what views here as we ascend. Upon approach thought we might be a while but after reading the cache page a reach was made and success was tasted. Replaced as found and T F T C Sidewaze.

Found on a road trip to Richmond and Nelson from the deep dark South of Dunedin.
Having a great time hunting down caches in a load of different places.

Thanks for your efforts in hiding your caches.

Mrs SoBad solo again - this time because Sobad had to 'work' although being paid to watch cricket hardly counts. She manged a wee drive, a bit of shopping, a visit to a mutual friend - and a cache. The previous logs told her of a way in that she doesn't think we have used before so it was a short walk and an instant find as she was just in the right place. She did consider the one 800 m away - but suspected it was not really 800m and she might have got lost solo.
It was fun to date the log -- 5/1/15.
Thanks.

This wasn't on the radar for today but I was so close coming down from Stile on the Hill on the new reservoir track that I decided to make this a bonus for the day. First I checked out the previous hiding spot and then had a better look round and spotted the cache that blends in very well. I think this is my thirds visit here for a cache and well worth the return visit thanks. TFTC #6393

Went out an after dinner walk with StreetWalker for my cache of the day, and to hopefully turn a previous DNF into a smiley. This time we approached from Cropp Pl (the previous trip was from Lodestone Rd), a rather steep route.
StreetWalker had already found the cache Smile by the time I panted to the top. Looks like some cache creep has happened as it was very easy to spot, in fact too easy. We replaced it within 5cm, but in a slightly less obvious position. Not sure where the cache was hanging out on our last visit as it certainly wasn't either where we found it or where it was replaced. One of life's little mysteries.
Nice views tonight and thanks for day #227 of my streak - what a lucky number.

#8743. Was a nice night for an after dinner walk. After a lengthy, fruitless search last time, today was a complete contrast, as I spotted the cache as soon as I got to GZ. I replaced it in a spot where it was a bit harder to see (though an experienced cacher would have no trouble finding it). Baffled as to where it was hidden last time we were here. TFTC.

Made a bit of a meal finding this one, despite the hint, but a chance glance in the right direction meant the lunchtime trip to the top was not in vain.

Thanks

I do enjoy it whenever I make up to here (which isn't very often). Turned out to be a lovely afternoon and a stunning view. The Jacaranda's? on the path up from Barrington Pl smelled delightful too.
Made the quick find and then decided 822m to Stile on the Hill wasn't "that" far.

We found the remnants of a recent party here and lots of cobwebs but sadly no cache. Nice views and easily accessible, so we'll be baaack.

Had a very good look, but in the end came up empty headed. Will put on the watchlist and come back for another look once there has been another find.

I've been here before looking for a previous cache. This one nearly had me beat!! It's gotta be here somewhere.....almost gave in but one last closer inspection came up trumps. Phew!!! Thanks Sidewaze

Nice one! I noted the 'doggies allowed' attribute so took Fozzie for the short walk to this cache. He had a great time sniffing out things that interested him and I had a good time 'sniffing out' things that interested me. In this case the cache! Took a bit longer to find than it should have done as its well hidden and blend in with its surroundings. All good in the end. TFTC, Biggles.

A cache a day for 365 days! Red FaceSmileRazz I wouldn't have thought it was possible with so many of the local hides already found but today we ticked it off. In the beginning I never intended streaking for a whole year. However, the August 2013 world wide challenge of a cache a day was enough motivation to try bettering our previous longest streak of 21 days.

But two local cachers generously made finding a cache a day last August much easier than anticipated thanks to their 31 placements. 100 days seemed the next logical target as a personal challenge. When that challenge was achieved I decided to keep doing one day at a time until things got really silly. I promised Mrs KE that if I found myself driving to Motueka every night of the week for just one cache each time then I would stop. Days 150, 200 and 250 slowly ticked by. Getting to day 300 meant that a year was just so close.

The week leading up to 30 June things did get a bit silly with repeat trips over the Whangamoas and to the Motueka Valley all in the dark and some in pouring rain. With a holiday just around the corner the full year was within reach so a bit of being silly seemed worth it. The holiday provided 15 more days and the year was then in sight.

This was the perfect cache for day 365 as it wasn't far from home and the whole family could come along after work. The location is one we enjoy and visit often. Usually we are walking past enjoying the hill and getting some exercise. Tonight it was our final destination. We made hard work of the find too and at one stage I thought it may be a DNF. Probably just nerves Lol. Finally the cache was spotted. Phew.

A very big thanks to the CO and all the other cache placers who have made this challenge possible and so much fun in the last year.

Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin FTF Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin I'd made the decision yesterday that id be walking up here today so this was a bonus. I was surprised to see an empty log so late in the morning, everyone else must have slept in like i did. Sat and enjoyed the view for a bit before heading further up hill as planned. It's nice to have an FTF at this location, i streaked up here to get the previous cache but ran out of time to search for it before racing off to work TFTC
