Day 5 of our geo adventure holiday, after finding a great camp down on the Lachlan River, we set off to explore the Parkes and Forbes area
it's somewhere we have never ventured before until now. This holiday is all about taking the time to see some of the amazing gems that you find while geocaching
Nice easy find. Caches was lying on the ground but was all together. Log signed and put it back where it looked like it came from

Delayed at a previous cache by Clive from Cookamidgera it was way to dark when we were in vicinity of GZ and were suffering many close calls with branches in eyes called off the chase. Next time when the sun is up.
This one seriously pissed me off as I would have to walk back one kilometre in this stupid heat with flies swarming around my sweaty body being seriously annoyed that at least three people I know from the logs did find it but I couldn’t.
So for the last time I checked all trees and all patches of grass and that fork of the tree once again...
A well-covered transparent Magic: The Gathering box with a logbook in it showed up well below the compost layer. And it was stuck between the two trunks. Wiggle by wiggle by wiggle it came loser and I was finally able to grab it from the hold of the tree and sign up t.
And now I have about 15 minutes time on which I can write this log and bitch and moan about my adventure

TFTC Thank you for hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.
Another simple, straight forward find down a dirt road
Our second day in Parkes, and guess what we did. That’s right, we visited The Dish. A great place, fantastic history and the film always made us laugh. We even played “Classical Gas” in the car on the way out. Of course, we managed to find time to grab some caches before, after and during our visit. The countryside is nice at this time of the year and we enjoyed our drive, but the weather is a tad on the cool side. Mr Ski is also a bit sad at the state of the car, and is currently cleaning the latest coat of mud and dust of it. Yes, that’s right-both mud and dust today.
TFTC and to all the local CO’s who have given us a geo tour of the local sights

I found the cache in plain view. Log is soaking wet but managed to sign it anyway. Covered up the cache to hide it a bit. tftc
Orange 2020 Day 2. I headed out for a long weekend away with Fitzy1965 & MinnieK to cache between Orange and Dubbo. We explored forests and towns and camped at Macquarie Wood. The weather was great and we managed to visit many more caches than I ever expected. After a leisurely start to the morning we climbed into the car to head to Dubbo, but it took all day to get there via Orange, Manildra, Parks and Tomingly.
Thanks.

fitzy_1965, albida33 & I headed out for a long weekend away. Basing ourselves at Macquarie Woods, we ended up visiting Orange, Parkes, Dubbo and lots of towns inbetween.
Day 2 saw us head out from our campsite and rambling up towards Dubbo.....14 hours later we were back at camp.
Quick find here today....cache was wet but log was dry

20,259. Found with minniek and albida33 during a Canberra Day Long Weekend caching meander around the Orange/Parkes/Dubbo regions.
A plan was hatched for the three of us to head up this way for some quality caching over the 3 days. Day 2 and we headed off for further adventures. Next stop of the day - and it was a quick find. We guess the type of hide has changed over time?
Thanks mooandroo !!

Not sure how the helping hand was involved here, but once aubeasty came to help, it became clearer.
This was off the beaten track, but the comment about NSW steepest railway climb is questionable!
[:(!] Thanks for an awesome effort.

Cache No. 4. Out & about with baby&Mrs gopher from The Rock NSW here visiting for a few days in Parkes. Took them out to find some containers. Thank you for the cache.
9181. Located by baby&Mrs gopher at 1120 in company with keith58. In good condition. (bMgropher with micro and nano logs ). keith58 is a local in Parkes and jumped at the suggestion of a morning out finding containers. The cassette containers lend well for these hides.SL Tnx mooandroo
Had a DNF on this one back in November 2014. We made a quick find today however there was no camouflage on the cache. There is what might possibly have been camouflage once laying near by.

Caching in and around Parkes, we picked up a few caches with Whitewebbs and this was one of them.
An easy find at GZ, log book very wet, placed another log book in the container with a zip lock bag.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Day 23 Mainland trip
After arriving at the caravan park we headed out to find some caches around Parkes and surrounds with Tassie Trekkers and this was one we found. We found the cache but everything inside was mush. Dried out and placed a replacement log in zip lock bag and returned to the container. All good. TFTC

Traveling home via Snowtown, Broken Hill, Cobar, Dubbo, Forbes, West Wyalong & Temora, finding a good variety of cache types and hides. I visited some interesting historical towns and bush locations, which made the round trip well worth the drive.
I did as much maintenance as I could, replacing damaged containers and full or wet logs.
Signed and replaced.
Many thanks for placing this cache, mooandroo, for us and others to find.

Hi there mooandroo.
We found your cache **"Helping hand"** today. (This makes our find count 19370).
Today wecached around Cookamidgera and then south to Forbes before heading back to our camp at Parkes. Tut the aim of the day was to cache along some roads we haven't traveled on since we became full time grey nomads, so we can draw another line on our map).
We found 15 caches today (DNF'd 6) .We thoroughly enjoyed our cache raid but are disappointed at the number of poorly maintained caches along our route. Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
***Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Nice camo for this cache. It's going to last because muggles would not be bothered with rubbish like that
Thanks mooandroo.

How sneaky! Geomum was determined that "helping hand" meant someone needed to be helped to climb the tree, alas it wasn't that way at all. Loved this cache camo! Tftc
Alright, so hubby was looking at cars on yards and we turned down this road. I'm like, "you can keep going down a bit further to look of you like" knowing there were a couple of caches in this general direction...
But they were on the other side of the tracks, and we had to lock the car into 4WD as this road was turning into a creek, and closest to GZ from here there was a lake building up. I was going to give in but on our way back down the track I saw a possible way across.
So in high heeled boots and hi-vis raincoat I ran over the rocks, rails and rising river, raced up the road and found the cache.
It was lots of fun! I love the rain!
I'm giving it a favorite point because this one gave me the most fun today, even though by taking the road less traveled. And because I don't have enough points to award more than one today.

We have camped overnight here at the showgrounds to attempt to find the many caches in the area.
Luckily today we had 3 FTF . A great day out caching. Such a good way to visit the area.
Thanks for placing this cache mooandroo

Gave us a laugh when we found it given the name "helping hand", not something you'd want to pick up among the trees.
what a top little town/village that i never knew existed till caching and today, you guys play a lot of cards under torch light i reckon, lol
we had heaps of fun doing the Cooka caches , thanx heaps for bringing us here, really enjoyed our time

Could not imagine what this one was and when we found it it was nothing that we had imagined. Very creative - thanks.
We thought of all sorts of thing that might fit the name and had a laugh when we found it. Nice idea - thanks.
On a bike ride around the ruralness of Cooka this morning, I tried to find a way to reach this cache.
And after some wobbling around towne, I found a track that headed off in the right direction
A track that was a bit sandy in some spots, and bumpy in others.
Good terrain for the mountain bike
Nearing GZ I discovered that me maps on the GPS were not as accurate as I would like them to be [:o]
It was obvious with about 60 metres to go, that the cache was on the other side of the railway line.
Not what the map showed !!
No problemos !!
I went for a stroll.
No trains to be seen
In fact I haven't seen or heard a train in the hour and a half I have been riding around Cooka.
The cache was an easy find once I got to GZ [^]
And there I also found a nice gravel track running along this side of the tracks
That would have been easier to ride the bike along, but not as much fun
