My plan for this weekend was attending most of the "The Great Victorian Cache Crawl" while collecting old geocaches, multicaches, and a tree climb for the adventure. Plus, whatever else caught our eyes as we passed.Of the old geocaches, it looks like we got...X2 2001X2 2002X2 2005X1 2006X3 2007Favourite caches of the weekend we were the 2001 caches. Not because they were old ones, but because the items at GC255F were completely unexpected, and the adventure at GC277B of walking over the flooded spillway and climbing the cliff in the rain was risky and therefore exciting. Overall, not huge numbers of caches found, but a great weekend adventure. Big thanks to Geocaching Victoria for organising the events and getting so many geocachers to attend. After lunch, this was the target geocache. The rain had stopped, and we actually saw the sun for a few minutes. I attempted to monkey climb this one and got halfway before the branches started to get too slippery. Really didn't want to ruin the weekend by falling out. As such, I climbed down and grabbed the ladder. Huntress chattered to a few locals who were curious about what we were doing while I signed the log. Found 2 names signed earlier today already in the log. Now, it's time for the event. Thanks for the cache, stooy.Hunter
**Day 1, Great Victorian Cache Crawl 2024 (GVCC)**I am travelling with Connie of [@ConnieandRick](https://coord.info/PR15PZNT) on day 1 of the GVCC. I was highly motivated to get this cache, but thought it was way too busy at the roundabout to attempt. Rubbish said Connie. Its the BEST time! So we got the TOTT out of the car and headed over to GZ. No one batted an eyelid. Okay, keep going. We positioned the TOTT, Connie made the first ascent, repositioned and went again. I held the ladder. It was slippery, so once our names were inked into the logged, we retreated to the car and departed, and all without incident or interruption! Thanks stooy for placing this sneaky hide for us to find! This has been on my list for ages. But at the start of today's crawl it was pouring. Luckily this changed as we entered Bendigo and we got a park really close. LetThemEatCache thought it was too busy but I said that's the best time as everyone was trying to get shopping finished before the next rain. I cursed the clip on the container but the log has been signed. Only the second time I've used my TOTT which was my birthday this year. Gets a FP from me for its cheek.
Found retreaved with the help of Ronnie signed and put back. Replaced broken bag to protect from the elements.
Found with Grubbs1337, Snowy27 and ITWimdy. A great day out with Dad and his mates. Thanks for the cache
Found the beast, climbed the beast and signed the beast. Bare feet not recommended lol. TFTC
Easy to spot but definitely fun to reach. The enclosure has leaked and the log needs a new bag. Tftc
Unlike a lot of the previous "finders," I managed to climb up to the cache for this one. It was a challenging start, but once I made it up, it was an easy walk the plank to the cache. Signed while being judged from many many angles. A great urban tree climb! TFTC!
Found 19/10/23 on my trip over to Bendigo. Thanks to cache owner for allowing me to claim this one. A great hide.
Found the bugga. Thought it was in a more difficult spot dangerous to get to. Turns out it’s not so bad
Found today but did not have the bravery in this wet weather to retrieve. Might come back another day to sign the log.
Stamped as JAMS - JJ52, alllister w, mogni, sir_spectre. All of these teams are from South Australia and after some major planning we managed to find approx 700 caches while being away for a week. Also qualifiied for a variety of challenges, found LGA's and had lots of laughs. Found while attending the Victorian Mega in Rutherglen.
Thanks
Thanks
The JAMS team (JJ52 allister w, mogni and sir_spectre) were on a road trip heading to the Rutherglen Mega event (staying in Corowa) for 3 days then winding our way home via Albury, Wangaratta, Bendigo and various other places in between. It was a great week with many more caches found than we expected. There were targeted caches, challenge caches, Ad Labs, events and various others to fulfill various statistics for the four of us. We were lucky with the weather, it rained a bit on our way over on Friday, then half a day after we left Wangaratta but on the whole it was great caching weather. We did drive a few slippery muddy roads, but nothing too bad. We also caught up with lots of people either at events or out in the field and enjoyed many great chats. All in all a fun time with lots of Victoria explored and then very tired when I arrived home. [^]
Today was our last full day before heading home and we concentrated on finding caches for the Bendigo A-Z Challenge. Did lots of driving and found a few others along the way.
The cache was easily spotted so the TOTT was needed. Allister made the climb and soon had the log stamped.
Thanks for the cache stooy.

I was expecting this cache to be in a less muggle location. Saw the cache from the ground, went back and got the ladder. Allister w made to climb. quick find.
Found with JAMS (( JJ52, Allister w, Mogni, plus sir_spectre ) Mitchell&hound wasn't with us this trip) crew. All logs stamped as JAMS to save log space. This trip we are off to the Rutherglen Mega and then slowly coming back to S.A. for a total of 8 dys and 7 nights. The targets of this trip are for JJ52 to get 11 more multi to get to 1000 multi's and a few more Victorian LGA's, Allister W was targeting 17 virtuals ( or as many as he could get ) a few more Victorian LGA's Mogni to make the Rutherglen Mega her 20, 000 find and also for her to complete all Victoria LGA's, sir_spectre needs 1 more multi to get to 1000 multi's and get his Victoria LGS's down to 2 LGA's left. We got 20 or more finds in a LGA if we stayed in there over night. We also detoured to stamp any challenge caches that we were " in the general area off " and to complete that challenge before we came back to S.A. This meant that some times dirt road (s) had to be walked down because they were to wet to drive down and/or haven't been repaired since last years flooding. We started off the holiday in the rain and then that cleared up only to start raining and a overnight thunder storm but most of the trip was dry. Over 600 caches found for the trip including over 120 lab stages in that total. Got to complete the GPS Maze at the Rutherglen Mega for a 2nd time. Allister w was the team driver for all of the Victorian part of the trip. I think this was the first trip ever to Victoria that the extension pole didn't get used but the 6.2 meter ladder did get a work out.

The JAMS (JJ52, allister w, mogni and sir_spectre) go mega... We came, we cached, we laughed, we hugged and we had a great time. All caches were replaced better than found. But like all good things it must come to an end and so we started our way home, it only took 5 days....

Found on a drive to Ballarat with Joolay. We made good use of my TOTT and I made the climb to grab this cache.

Of course you start something and it rains. Still managed to find and sign.

Thank you for the nice cache during my business way to Bendigo. Many greetings from Czech Republic
Cache 9353 on 3 Oct 2022.
Road trip! Joined ZQX, Fox in Jox and TikvaNZ in taking advantage of a long weekend in the ACT to head to Victoria and South Australia for 4 days. We had planned this trip 2 years ago, but it did not happen for obvious reasons, so now getting it underway. Our goal is to pick up some old caches, get counties and get some interesting DT combinations!
Today: day 3 travelling from Mount Gambier to Bendigo. We had to backtrack slight to Millicent to collect some challenges as we ran out of time yesterday. Today is about challenges, some older caches and more counties!
After a lovely Thai meal, we were motivated! Spotted, retrieved and returned.
Thanks stooy for the cache and the fun!

On a return roadtrip from ACT to VIC and SA over four days, as part of a FATZ (Fox in Jox, AngelG27, TikvaNZ and ZQX) mission.
After a nice Thai meal, we ventured out into the Bendigo night. At gz, we spied the container. I grabbed a headtorch and pen between the teeth. Being highly motivated I leapt up to the right altitude for a quick sign of the log. TFTC stooy
(Nb. Ok, so maybe I didn't simply leap into the branch - a more measured approach was taken)

Ohhh man. I've wanted to climb that tree for ages. I scoped it out and confirmed its location during the day and came back at 12.30 am for the climb. It did start raining which posed an additional challenge. But I got it! So happy. Absolutely loved this one. Thankyou!
We planned the finding of this cache after checking out special types, sizes, d/t settings, etc... in Bendigo. This one seemed obtainable, more so than quite a few others of this terrain. Only problem was I didn't have a Tott that would fit in the car. So in preparation for this cache and a few others like it, I bought a telescopic ladder off eBay! Fam and wider fam thought I was crazy, lol. It worked perfectly! The 19 yo who loves climbing scaled it while we gave directions from below. He was disappointed he didn't get to climb from scratch though. What a beautiful big tree. We brought along the Vanderhunters for the adventure. Lots of laughs and fun. A fp for the adventure. Tftc.
Came to this one in daylight, with plenty of muggles around or going past, spotted the cache, but decided to come back under cover of darkness.
Deployed my elevation device, signed and retreated.
The motivation was the D/T...

I had tried to nab this cache in the past but at the time i decided that the old bod wasnt up to the task and retired to plan another assault. Today i had to work late,( or is it early) and decided this was the perfect time to mount another attempt with tott on hand. All went according to plan and the log was soon signed and returned. As i was packing up i was accosted by three officious PSOs who demanded to know what i was up to. Their beligerant attitude got short shrift from me and we parted with them non the wiser. Thanks Stooy for the fun little adventure.
Had this cache on my to find list and soon spotted it on my approach but couldn’t manage to free climb out so back to the car to get the ladder, very awakened and public but I was soon up and had the cache in hand and the log book signed and back down I went. Cache is all good
With the 2021 Wangaratta Mega completed we headed off back home towards SA via some back roads and the major towns along the way to collect a few caches and also have a look around.
Thanks for the cache

Out and about with VicJam. We spotted the cache easily and just needed a volunteer to go grab it. Didn't take too long but longer to throw the log book back to them...thanks.

Found it quite easy. Couldn't get to it though. Another time with better footwear I think
Having a lovely weekend in Bendigo catching up with extended family who we haven’t seen for two years due to lockdowns. This one was on my radar due to the D/T combo and was a fitting cache for a milestone cache. We spotted it quickly but the retrieval took some time. Lots of fun had by all.
Thank you stooy for placing and maintaining Highly Motivated for us to find today.

Firstly, please accept my apologies for this late log. I was frantically looking for a T4.5 for a Thursday to meet a requirement for a challenge. The weather has turned stormy this week so I was looking for a miracle of finding a cache that fitted the criteria, but was not out in the bush. Wish granted, over to Bendigo we go. Another issue. It is right in town. My apprehension starts to build. Dalerious and I get to GZ. What a magnificent specimen; the tree and my partner, of course . It was just on dusk and not many muggles about. Situation perfect . Surveyed the tree for it's hide ladder up, me up, log signed , put away safe and sound, me down the ladder no one the wiser. Mission complete, me very happy . Thank you stooy for providing this tree climb on one of my favourite type of trees. Favourite awarded.
This was a bonus find for us today.
Having done some twilight finds just on Twilight in the Kamarooka we thought we would do the Sedgwick screamer night cache on the way hone.
Passing through Bendigo city Mrs Riddell suggested it would be the perfect time to get this cache.
We had physically seen it 2 weekends ago and dismissed it due to the high muggle density in its location. However the 7pm twilight AFL Grand final Footy match had just gotten underway in Perth and the streets were deserted in Bendigo.
What the hell? So we detoured over and parked the car right next to the little reserve with the tree.
Mr Riddell grabbed the ladder…. Mrs Riddell was the monkey tonight and was pleasantly surprised to see that the ladder just reached up to where it needed to.
There was not a soul around… how good was that? Up she went and easily strutted out along the limb, reached and opened the cache, signed the log via Mr. Riddells torchlight from below.
She was back safely in no time. All up the whole process was less than 15 minutes…. Easy Peasy!!
It’s not as bad as it looks.
TFTC and a little personal challenge enjoyed.

Attempted on a lil' weekend jaunt while up in Bendigo for placement.
Sighted the cache from afar, but too dangerous for little me. What a great hide though! Always exciting to stumble on a high difficulty/high terrain

Thats was fun, and a little hairy.
Pretty easy for stealth first thing in the morning.
Pen wasnt properly working but scratched HP into the log. Thanks

That was quite fun indeed. Was the only one game enough in the group to grab this one after spotting where to go. Tftc
After a morning spent at the Hole In One comp, (Yay, I won a prize) and before I was to 'meet the parents' muggle GF and I decided to grab a few caches since she's so keen to get involved.
We spotted GZ fairly quickly, and despite it needing one large step across a branch, it was one of the easier tree climbs I've managed.
Thanks Stooy, adding to the faves

You would think someone in their sixty’s would know better than attempt something like this, wrong! Actually for someone who used to climb trees with spurs and harness this was fairly straight forward just the body doesn’t do what it used to
I figured once I was up a couple of meters no one would even notice me and that was the case
Signed the log and then jumped the last bit down, too quick even for the wife to take a photo to show our friends what a silly old fart I am sometimes

This was the longest and funniest find we have done, took us 45 minutes to find and retrieve! One of our favs
We located the cache but was unable to retrieve it due to wet weather a bit to dangerous for me, definitely will come back when dry!
Before we left home to go to the Lost Trades fair at Bendigo, dalerious was highly motivated and put an extendable ladder in the boot of the car.
After attending the fair, and visiting the local cemetery for a GA B&W virtual cache, Muggle Hubby stopped the car here for me to write my name on the log.
Nobody around, objective achieved, ladder folded and put back in the boot, in the car and ready to leave, just in time to see a police car entering the roundabout.
Perfect timing. Nothing to see here, move on.
Thanks for a bit of fun and excitement plus another happy face on my map.

Buzzing with the excitement of having just found out i was successful in getting my dream job my caching buddy suggested that I make the find here - knowing how much I like tree climbs. I made a quick ascent and find here. Now time for a lunch stop at maccas before Jacko83 Tritonz Pacman and I head onto exploring more of Bendigo on my 26th birthday. Thanks for the hide here.
We are always on the lookout for high T caches, and so on passing through Bendigo today we simply had to stop off and check this one out. Once at Ground Zero the cache was quickly spotted then it was just a case of up and out! We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the good fun placement of this cache and a favourite point awarded. Greetings from Zimbabwe
Headed out today on a roadtrip to the St Arnaud Mega via Bendigo.
Currently I have my radar looking out for any cache with a DT rating of 4,5 so obviously I was highly motivated to find this one. I had to use the hint to locate it, but then how do I retrieve it? I had no ladder in the car but I did have a rope, so I 'improvised' a solution.
Took a while to complete the operation amidst the busy Friday afternoon traffic. When I was packing up a schoolboy came past and asked if I had just got the cache. "Yep, young mate, 5 minutes earlier I could have helped you get it too..."
And then a very official-looking friendly council worker approached me when I was back on the ground.
"We've had a 'request' to investigate someone climbing a tree here," he said.
"Yep,", I observed, "that sounds right. Someone nervous or idiotic raised the alarm, you are now investigating, and yes, I am climbing this tree. Anything wrong with that?"
"Not at all. Just investigating as per the request."
We then had a long, social and courteous chat about various issues such as crazy arborists, tree climbing fun for kids (and adults ), ascending techniques, liability and other park issues, and went our separate ways. Now onto the next tree - I think I have a Plan B!
Thanks, stooy.

This Cache:
A difficult tree climb indeed! It started off easy and I got up, but then the T4.5 part of the climb presented itself. There’s just one part that is a big stretch / challenge. ZQX said he was up for it, and clambered past me and swiftly made it up! Well done! So the cache was then soon in hand, replaced, and another sketchy manoeuvre before he was back in solid ground.
Thanks, some good fun here

Today:
After finally getting leave approved for the 2019 St Arnaud event, it was time to get underway from Canberra on the Thursday morning, 5am departure!
Myself, DSD and ZQX teamed up for an eventful weekend filled with caching and many km’s including dozens of towns and counties I have never been through before!
We drove all the way from Canberra to St Arnaud today, grabbing a couple caches along the way including a lunch time event in Bendigo, before arriving in time for the dinner event near the mega site. We managed to grab almost every cache type today alone, targeting interesting ones along the way.
Thanks to all the CO’s for today

Found w friends. LTF.
DarksideDan, Loci612 and surveyed GZ while wolfing down junk food. We had some time to kill before an event, and I wanted this cache. I thoroughly enjoyed the climb, using various features of the tree to get to the cache. Signed the log then had a bit of a WTF am I doing up here moment. Got down safely anx headed to the middle of town

It has been a while since Neville_devil, AusFox; and myself have been out for a big caching trip but today was the day that would change as we headed up the Calder for some caching in the Bendigo direction.
This was one of todays main target caches and AusFox; was definitely highly motivated on this one needing it for another loop of his D/T matrix. Once it was spotted it was just a matter of getting there to sign the log. Only a small amount of blood was silt and skin does grow back. specially on such a small scrape
Thank you stooy for the cache and sorry for the late logging time gets away sometime when life gets busy

It had been a while since the our last caching trip, so Simsfamily, Neville Devil and I headed up to Bendigo to tick a few boxes and visit new locations.
Yes, I was highly motivated to find this cache cache and many others similar to yours.
It was like looking for a needle in a haystack, but once seen it couldn't be unseen.
Log signed and replaced as found.

Found at 12:45 PM GAFF3.
We managed to own a TOTT that just reached the required limb - how good was that!
A bit of teetering here and there, but the cache was opened and the log book stamped - sort of.
I have been motivated enough to once kayak a flooding Goulburn River and tipping over and being snagged against willow trees - ended up being quite serious and nearly drowned!
Thanks stooy
We managed to own a TOTT that just reached the required limb - how good was that!

After spotting the cache, the plan was made to climb the tree. Getting up was a lot easier than getting down. Cigc. Tftc
After getting different shoes for kenare we headed over to this big tree for the climb. Sean.75 spotted the cache from below and soon had it signed and replaced. tftc
After finding the cache from below we soon worked out the climb that was needed. The breeze was lovely and we’re glad it wasn’t much stronger because that would’ve made it but too hairy!! Tftc
Found with PapaGrouch. We had scoped out where this one was earlier in the day, then returned after dark to make the find. Our handy TOTT only just reached. TFTC
