The old steam engine has gone. Sounds like it's been sold at a clearance sale, presumably with the cache.
Seeing as I went back to check out the grid, I decided to give this one a shot too. A family had just finished herding their cattle across the road on horseback. What a cool sight.
There wasn't really any space to park with the caravan without blocking the driveway so I tried to be quick abs pretended i was checking out the fire sake sign.
I had read the clue abs had an idea where to look, but no, it was not where I expected. If I interpreted the clue correctly, I would say the engine had eaten the cache.
Thanks.

I usually approach these types of hides with trepidation, they can be quick and easy or can take ages. Lucky for us today it was the former. Many thanks geono
Stopped here while touring the New England area along with ilook4geo. It was a quick and easy find as there were not a lot of places to check. All was good with the container and its contents. Many thanks go to geono for placing this cache for us to find and enjoy.
Came looking for some more smiley faces with goingplaces2. This was one of the caches we found. Cache retrieved, log signed, all replaced! TFTC.

Heading home and grabbing a few caches.
This was one of them.
Nice container, and fun putting my hands in places I couldn’t see. Haha

Excellent cache is a beautiful spot. Love the caches with plenty of space for geopoodle to have a break from the trip. TN left a turtle.
Lucky the wife wanted a photo opp here. We parked and I was able to grab the cache. SL and replaced. Nice history. TFTC.
Find #73 (29/6/2020) on a trip around to Maitland, Armidale and back with JessYoung96.
Easy find but couldn't slow down fast enough and make the turn (had to do a u-turn about 500m later), thanks to a Queenslander tailgating me for most of the drive.
Regardless TFTC.

On the way home from walking the Lyrebird Track in the New England National Park, I stopped off for this cache. It came up sooner than expected, so I had to do a u turn & come back. Once at GZ, I made a quick find, wondered what the hint meant & continued on my way. TFTC!
We escaped the drought and heat in Armidale for the green glory of Dorrigo today, with Scruffy the geodog and a little caching on the way.

Found during a road trip from Brisbane to Adelaide with five days travelling and four overnight stops, via Ballina, Armidale, Tamworth (staying overnight), Bylong, Sofala, Bathurst (staying overnight), Cowra, Young, Cootamundra, Junee, Wodonga (staying overnight), Echuca (staying overnight), Kerang, Ouyen, Pinnaroo and on to Adelaide. With limited time for stops along the way , we targeted one or two caches in each of the LGA's we traversed, and a few extras at the overnight stops to boost the tally. Thanks for the cache geono.!
Found while on a geocaching holiday with tmann421.
Enjoyed the trip around and all the great hides.

Normally machinery caches are much harder to find, this one was quite easy! TFTC
Such hides are never easy, but in the end, the cache was much larger than I expected. Still took me a while, but got there in the end.
Usually we struggle with caches on machinery but this wasn't too hard to find.

Enroute to Grafton for a school holiday meetup with GroGrandparents & the kids were actually awake when we went past! Took the rare opportunity to stop in here and have a look at the old steam engine & finally find & log this cache that we have had our eye on for a long time. Nice easy one - perfect for travelling - kids made some small swaps & we’re on our way again. Thanks Geono for another great spot & cache

I love how people leave these old pieces of hardware on the roadside so we can all appreciate them. And when there's a cache hiding close by, appreciate it we did. Took us a few minutes, but we quickly had the cache and signed the log. It's a shame this old girl will rust away one day. Great cache Geono!
We are on a 5 day camping trip around Dorrigo and Armidale, grabbing some caches along the way.
Machinery caches are not our forte, we always seem to struggle.
This one however was a little different, we located the container after just 30 seconds of searching, if only all machinery caches could be this large.
Thanks for the cache

I’d like to shout out to my friend, Morgan, for seeing what I couldn’t. Great cache!
On a caching weekend from Kempsey to Armidale with Ozglory.
Love these historic relics left around Aus. Thankfully wasn't too long a search before the cache was in hand.
Thanks so much for the cache!
Some logs may be signed S & O representing Staybe & Co and Ozglory.

6926 Located by baby&Mrs gopher at 1405 on our way north. As we were proceeding towards this cache baby was wondering where he has heard that name. There was a Clayton & Shuttleworth engine at the flour mill in Swan Hill Victoria back when he was a teenager. There was the container and in good condition.SL Tnx geono
Thank you! This was a great little stop and cache with a few ‘treasures’ to swap. Excellent!
Spent 15 minutes stuck in traffic because of storm-fallen trees blocking the road. A massive shout-out to the Armidale Council workers for their efficient response in clearing the trees and debris.
Have to agree that it’s a shame this tiny piece of history is left to simply rust away...Swapped the key ring for a fireman.
Thanks for the interesting stop, geono

Found it on the return trip heading back to Brisbane.
I saw the same machine in Mcclean after doing this cache. It was a complete unit,a huge massive machine, all painted red.
Thank geono for the hide

Shot passed this one because I wasn't listening to geowife's instructions so had to do a U turn up the road. Once at GZ it was a quick easy find. Shame to see these old engines just rusting away. TFTC geono
MUCH easier find than I expected when I pulled up. Something lives inside. With a thud it jumped; then I jumped. It thudded again. I peered through holes, but couldn't spot what it was. Interesting history, but I thought it was unknown who had actually shot down the Red Baron.
An extract from Wikipedia:
"The RAF credited Brown with shooting down the Red Baron, but it is now generally agreed that the bullet which hit Richthofen was fired from the ground."

New England Roadtrip day 2: to Armidale to Brisbane via Ebor, Nymboida, Grafton, Ballina and Tweed Heads. On the road early for the long trip home across the foggy range and up the coast.
I'm a sucker for old equipment, so a stop here was a must even though it was cold wet and dark. A quick find due to the hint. Thanks **geono.** for bringing us here, this find makes #3791. Discover our trackable TGQNRV.

We have returned from Canada to discover a few more Australian caches! What a great way to explore the Land Down Under" ...
On our way from Georges Junction to Dorrigo picking up a few caches along the way. Lots of cattle on the road and around GZ. Some seemed very curious as to what we were doing but muggle cows don't count right??
Thanks for adding to our fun geono. - great container!

Found at 11:49 AM GAFF1 in the company of NurseHayley on a 3 day weekend touring Uralla/Armidale/Hillgrove.
Last day of our weekend after another fantastic evening and meal at Geono HQ and now on our way home.
Oh so pleased that it wasn't a nano on this structure! Even though it was just a 1.5/1.5 which should have alerted us to the fact that it was going to be a caching friendly type of hide, we have done caches that have been impossible nanos and still rated just 1.5/1.5 - boy do we give those caches a blast [:(!]
Roy Brown! That was the Canadian captain that was credited with shooting down the Red Baron that I was talking to you about on the Saturday night when we got onto the cache called Bluey in Brooklyn! Gosh - what a coincidence.
Thanks geono..

Gevonden! We had to laugh about the log of Ozglory Thanks and greetings from the Netherlands!
Quick find. Thanks for showing this piece that I've otherwise would've passed without noticing.
Nice old piece of machinery. I let mrs oz out first. poor dear had been given a scare at a previous cache when she stuck her hand into a wasp nest. so when we determined where it could be she went back to the car to get her gloves. As soon as she was out of sight i grabbed the cache and was able to give it to her when she returned. She had that confused look on her face as she wrestled with relief at not having to put her hand into the unknown and wanting to kill her caching partner for not telling her he had it. log was quickly signed and my kind offer to let her return it was ignored. I gathered from that reaction that to return it was truly my job. Loved reading the history of this company. Thank you geono for placing this cache. cheers ozglory
Driven past this many times, but have never stopped to have a look at it. That is one of the things I like about caching.

Today we left Dorrigo & headed to Hillgrove. We found a few caches before we stopped to camp at Wollambi
I suppose if you blinked you would drive straight past this machinery.
I think we caused a traffic jamb as the owner was comming out of his drive as we were pulling over & another car was wanting to pass. Parking was done in safety.
Had a quick look over the engine before finding the cache.
