My first solo caching trip. A long one down the entire length of the Sturt Highway. TFTC
Heading to Euston for a week of Regent Parrot surveys - with some time to cache as well. Decided I had enough time to collect this one before meeting my work colleagues. Crossed the road and the search started. Dont get too close as those spikes are sharp. Circled a bit and took a bit of finding. Easy once found - long arms meant I could reach over the danger. Easily replaced from a distance.TFTC Big Bad Bradley
Thought I might need some Kevlar gloves but no a walk up the hill and there is was TFTC
This took awhile even with 2 sets of eyes as its a large area of prickles. We started at GZ without any luck so spread out but still no luck. Ok, looked at spoiler photos to get an idea what we were looking for and started again. Finally one half of the team spotted it exactly where he was first looking. Doh!Thanks Tk2 for the placement.
Took a fair while to locate then it was just staring at me haha. Enjoyed viewing the aurora from lake benanee 2 nights ago near this location. Sorry for the late log.
Last cache of the day on our way home from Mildura as it was now 2 bells and we have 5 hours driving in front of us.We both wandered across the road to have a crack at this one, anticipating a long hard search, but the force was strong with dad today as he walked straight up to it, just as the Queen askedWhat type of container are we looking for?..,This oneAs I held it aloft triumphantly Log signed and TB dropped and we were off in a cloud of dust.
Busy day for this cache just found it! So beautiful vegetation even I was a bit scared when I arrived on the spot. Lucky it was a quick found! Thanks!!
After attending an early event at 6:30, we headed to Mildura to start our trip to SA.We picked up two caches along the way. Arrived at the motel, and met up with the other teams that we did the first part of the bike series back in April 2021.After dinner we headed out with 2 other teams and cached around the area.We did 2 trads, 2 virtual's and 5 multi's.We stamped the log as The Drovers or 'The Mob' to save space and time.'The Mob' this time included:- FurfacesLL, Rapidlywild, and ourselves.Signed and replaced as found. Many thanks for placing this cache, Tk2, for us and others to find.
Day three on a Mega road trip with LB.We are heading to the GC9PNFB - Capital GeoBash Mega event and so the adventure continues. While having lunch under the bridge we seen this cache. As we have done a few BBB caches back home we decided to stop and have a look. After a wibbly, wobbly moment of me balancing on an old flower stalk we eventually made the find.TFTC Tk2Keep smiling
Found while on road trip their Leap Year event. Taking a lot of back roads and visiting some interesting places. Thanks to all the CO's for your cache placements.
Out and about caching today travelling from Hay to Euston. Arrived at GZ and found cache. Signed log and placed cache back where found. TFTC
Happy to turn this dnf to a smiley.Wasnt going to spend time on it. 26 degrees and shorts and sandals is not ideal. A quick scoot round and Mr Unssy had it in the clippers.TFTC
Tftc. Introducing a newbie to geocaching. On our way back to Mildura after a weekend away Dragonboating to Falls creek
This actual hide was definitely not quite as spiky as expected. But there were a lot of spikes there. That is almost certainly why we never usually bother to try to find BBB caches. But this time we missed who the CO was until we had already climbed the small hill and saw what was there. We nearly turned around but a couple of logs suggested we might be able to find it without injury. Maybe. And we did.Nice lakes. Good place to stop and break our trip as we head back home after visiting the kids abd grand daughter in Sydney. It may be a while before we try to find another BBB cache. But we now have one.TFTC BBB
Slowly winding my way home. The heat wave is following me. Another 40+ day today. I did not stop at nearly as many caches as planned. I only stopped to grab one in each "county" I did not already have a find in.Got lucky with a quick find here. I almost retreated to the car for the safety gear, wouldn't want one of those Triffids to spit at me. [:o)]
TFTC, found with Algae, I didnt maned to get picked, I has Algae get a couple of prickles for me lol. Nice warm day today.
Caching my way home after a weekend away for work. Cache & log book remain in good condition…only suffered 3 pricks for my efforts . TFTC
Quick find whilst travelling Mildura to Condoblin
Cool spot, great cache

We went, we saw, we searched, 10 minutes came up with nothing. Thanks anyway we might be back on the way home.
Lockdowns, lock outs etc had stopped as from getting to Millicent a few times and also On Ya Bike Series. Finally things fell into place and B@W, Crash, PPE and Tardis 0061 (later to sing as BCPT for our initials or Big Cycling Power Trail amongst other things)were on a week long road trip into SA. Various select caches and locations were targeted on the way over and back for LGA's and other stats.
On seeing GZ I now recall others in SA of the CO's
A careful find here and we completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

Travelling from Perth to Canberra with lots of side tracks.TFTC.
Was managing a no prickle event and was all excited that I was actually leaning on these to make the reach. I backed up too fast and ow. Great cache location.

Wandered off with Purrfect Di [:X] , and met up with the Froghoppin duo [^] [^] and a whole bunch of other crazy cachers around the place too. Saw some sights, cached three states, and ate a whole lot of pub and cafe meals! Found far fewer mint tins than usual - gold star to Vic and NSW for that one!!!
Happy Geocaching Day weekend!
After dinner at the nearby Euston pub, a detour to this one was a must. Brad caches are the stuff of legends. Caching injuries and blood loss, swearing and general frustration... but this one was almost a quick drive by in the dark!!!
Much thanks to Tk2 for locating and arranging maintaining this cache on our NSW geo-map

Wandering the countryside - searching, spotting strange items and signing cache logs using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just a guyess or plain old dumb luck
Heaps of that luck stuff actually !!!
*All the online logs are composed and published with GSAK of course.*
---
Caution! Caching is a very hazardous activity!
Look out for sand, mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods, and try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- and do watch out for germs and bugs !!! . [xx(]
Make Travel Bugs the Only bugs you share and pass on
Keep a safe distance - cache the countryside
Truly fantastic of all those placing quality caches out and about around the country areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game fun, and interesting
Appreciate you reading all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, apparently! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and we can put an end to these long logs !!!

Out celebrating International geocaching day finding a cache or two, after attending four events we decided a few caches by torchlight before heading back to our accomadation with Mattycat and Perfect Di would round out the evening, this was one of them having found quite a few of these back in SA, fortunately a easy retrieve and another smilie added

Picked this one up on the way home from Mildura this morning. The container is in a bad state and needs replacing.
Found during a road trip via Wentworth, Menindie Lakes, Wilcannia, Cobar, Bourke and Cunnamulla to Charleville and back over 10 days, camping out at some great spots along the way. Met up with e.gregory1 at Bourke and we spent the next four days caching around Cunnamulla and out to Eulo, Yowah and Charleville, before e.gregory headed up to Townsville and I made my way southwards towards home. I camped out near Balranald last night and spent the day caching from Balranald to Wentworth, then finding a great campsite on the Murray at Merbein Common. Thanks for the cache Big Bad Bradley!
Found by Mary and David at 10:50. We came prepared with our CITO TOTT. No blood was shed either. Still refer to these clusters as BBBs wherever we see them, after some bitter experiences in SA. Broken lid and log is getting brittle. Our thanks to Tk2
Lots of spiky plants about...but I made the find without injury. Container needs to be replaced...it has become very brittle. TFTC
Found a range of caches as I headed to Mildura today. Was pleased to locate this quickly before hurting myself searching through all the prickles on a hot summers day. But yes, as per other logs, this container needs replacing, it is brittle and falling to pieces.
Mummy Penny found this quickly from the right side while I messed around with the spiky stuff on the wrong side. We often drink the processed results of this stuff so good to see how it looks in the wild. Container is ready to go to container heaven. Thanks Big Bad Bradley.
Poor cache, it will suffer if it rains.
Nonetheless an interesting one to locate avoiding the nasties.
Thanks Big Bad Bradley

Nasty looking plants. The container is need of repair. It does not seal, so if it ever rains here again, it will fill up with water. Tftc.
A plan was hatched with Rapidlywild to attack some of the caching trails down in VIC/SA. With the boarders slowly staying open we thought Easter might be a safe time to try since the QLD boarder was still too fragile to attempt going to the MEGA and it also looked like it could be rather wet there.
Our team “The Mob” consisted of GoodLook, LíB, Rapidlywild, The Drovers, feathertop and ourselves. This team ended up being very productive and some new friendships were made. Always a bonus in my book. All logs were stamped with “The Mob” to save space and time.
After completing all the trails, we had set out to do and a couple more for good measure it was time for this mob to go its separate ways.
On our journey from Mildura to Wagga slowly making our way home we picked up a few caches along the way to break up our journey.
No issues with this one, signed and replaced as found.
Thanks for the hide Big Bad Bradley and for the fun Rapidlywild

Found it! Took a little bit of a search, would recommend some enclosed shoes!! ️
Epic! Those things are huge!!!! So glad we didn’t get spiked.
Stopped in here as part of our Great Western County Hunt. It has been a truly incredible trip, as I managed to pick up the last four counties I needed to fill in my NSW county map. A super exciting thing to complete. Thanks for enabling our crazy adventures. Thanks for the cache.

Day 7 - Finished caching around Wentworth, then drove across to Balranald. Next stop for the day. Parked nearby for a nice quick find - Thankfully ! That could have been a lot worse. Signed the log, replaced the cache, then headed off to the next one.
Thanks Big Bad Bradley !!

Needing a break away and now not being able to cross into any state but my own it was a case of school holidays away in NSW enjoying my own back yard so to speak. This was one cache we came across while making our way from Balranald to Broken Hill and we managed a nice quick park and grab after a short detour from the main road. Fortunately l mananged to make a nice quick and safe find with my eyes and fingers all intact, found the tasty container and left my name in the logbook. Thanks Big Bad Bradley for the hide.
Port Macquarie heading to Millicent
Balranald to Mildura, stopped to find a few caches along the way.
As we drove along hubby said there is a cache 3ks ahead, its a BBB cache, will we stop or just drive by.
Where is the BBBB when you need it? Well we decided to stop & there was the cache, so glad to be able to find it.
Thanks for placing this cache Tk2

Took the opportunity to get out of the car while it wasn’t raining and stretch the legs a bit. Glad to have found the cache relatively quickly and pain free (unlike other BBB’s I’ve visited).
Thanks for the cache Big Bad Bradley.

Finally happy to have this cache off our maps.. Having cleared out all of Mildura and Robinvale. Cache is very weathered but still complete. Collected TB.
Day 2 of this years Christmas holiday trip. On our way to Adelaide collecting answers to one of the windmill cache multi's. A quick find, dropped TB, thanks BBB.
Well, my Mega and SA geotrip has come to an end so time to make the drive and nab a few along the way -stop, cache, survive!
I needed to stretch my legs and have a rest so this cache was a great excuse to stop on my way back to Canberra. Last of only three finds on the way back home! I was a bit cached out after a MASSIVE couple of weeks georoadtripping so just wanted to get home!
Thanks for the hide, Big Bad Bradley

Heading west towards WA.
You are right! Geocaching can be dangerous. Those things are sharp.
Otherwise, good find

Staying at the campsite at Lake Benemee, this cache was so close that it had to be found. And it was. Lots of spiny flora here, it reminds me of how Mexico was portrayed in old movies of the Western variety. The cache was found quickly and easily.
