TFTC SL - Stepped heavily to avoid any snakes. Found quickly and cache is in good condition:)
Bit of a bush bash. Long grass, sunshine and water laying around, lucky no snakes spotted
Three of my favourite things Coffee a nice walk and a nice cache find. Log damp but writable.
What to do when you should be writing reports? Go geocaching of course!
For me, reports are torture, just like writing creative geocaching logs.
Thank you for bringing me to this gorgeous spot today, despite the hideous weather – yep, that’s how much I don’t want to write reports.
I originally had wanted to find these caches by riding rail trail but was sidetracked by broken arms.
Slight bush bash and found cache. got to next cache and realised no 'lucky pen' so returned and earned more burrs and blackberries and barbed wire but amazingly found 'lucky pen' bit like Wilson really.

Found with icw. This was my first walk down this section of the rail trail. The day was warm and windy and I used both elements to dry out the log and the container. Tftc.
With restrictions lifted in regional Vic I once again teamed up with SKI Pair armed with My mask and Sanitizer, Today we headed over the hills to Phillip Island where we had a great day exploring the Island, the weather was four seasons in one day, but that did not stop us. There were quite a few challenging and novel hides in the area. this is one of the caches we found today. A short walk and this one was soon in hand, the log was a little damp.

Another day-another caching run!
Since the COVID restrictions have eased in regional Victoria we have been trying to do a weekly run with caching mate Rebel Acts. This is our fourth outing, and unfortunately the drizzle looks set to make things a bit miserable. Our first 3 days were beautiful, mild and with a light breeze. We are living in hope that the skies clear and make it more comfortable, but this IS Victoria.
As in the past we will sign many of the caches RASP.
We didn’t have time on our last caching run to find all of these caches on the rail trail, so we decided to pick them up today on our way to Philip Island

My New Years resolution was to cache more so I was determined to get a few today as I only have 5 to beat for the past few years. Hubby, Ceebee2013 and I rolled up here. CB having found the cache some time ago. This one did not take took a while to find, and despite me being quite inappropriately attired for geocaching, thanks to Hubby who is not as scared of snakes as me and had decent shoes on. This one has a broken lid and the log is wet, despite that I was able to write on the log. TFTC GF
On a caching road trip as part of the Mystery of the Museum. On a cold an showery day managed to quickly find this cache after having a brief wait in the car for a passing shower.

We are indebted to the tireless hiding work of these 6 greats as well the this CO herself who does a wonderful job on this coast.
Detoured a bit on my way to Inverloch to nab these caches.
I found many of tankengine's caches since I started visiting the ACT some 12 years ago

After doing some caches last night I had a rare day off and had a bike and a geodog willing to come along this part of the Bass Coast Rail track. With plenty of caches on offer to add points to the Planets challenge, we set off from Anderson. Thanks Gonefishen07 for you work which I admire. Persistence paid off here Kept rebooting coordinates from the track as iPhone not quite sure . Soon found right area. Log damp but good paper so able to log and dry out briefly
Apologies for the late log. My family were away in New Zealand so I planned a few caching excursions and I’m still catching up on logs. This was a great day spent on bikes on the Bass Coast Rail Trail with liambaxter88. Rain was forecast so were really pleased to get through till just after lunch when we had to abandon and not before we had brought up Liam’s biggest ever caching day. I apologise for my logs being largely generic as I didn’t take notes on the day and have been slow to log. We were heading west and picked this one up as were getting an idea of what to look for. My 4th of 49 finds for the day. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache and the series Gonefishen07.
This series was part of my biggest caching day so far! #4 out of #51! Thanks to AnnoyingTarbit for taking me down here and Gonefishen07 for the time put into the series. We somewhat managed to avoid most of the rain.
Continuing on our adventure after attending the Alexandra Mega Event, we found ourselves spending a few days on Phillip Island. While we tried to take advantage of the many great places to see on the island, we were pre-occupied with trying to complete the qualifying requirements for a particular challenge cache we had signed in Ballarat prior to the Surf Coast Mega Event last year. It really does pay to check the finer details of a challenge cache before you decide to look for it We had thought you needed to have found 100 caches in Victoria, but it was only when we came to log it that we realised the 100 caches in Victoria had to have been placed by the same cache owner
Anyway, initially we thought we would complete the challenge by doing the Mt Disappointment caches, but then friends who knew we were heading to Phillip Island told us we would easily qualify for the challenge there, and they would be much more interesting caches Well they were quite interesting, and some of them were downright sneaky
In the end, we had an enjoyable couple of days exploring Phillip Island and finding a variety of cache hides, with some great walks along some of the beaches and other places
Thank you Gonefishen07 for having placed the cache and maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

After a DNF on the previous cache we sure made up some time on this one. Walked straight up to it.

I tackled the last part of the Bass Rail Trail starting and finishing at Mc Garth Road. Another good cycling experience with plenty of caches to keep me amused the along the way. The ride back to the car was a nice downhill run. Cheers and TFTC
I have come across several of Tankengines hides, but had no idea he was such a prolific hider as Canberra is not my hunting ground TFTC Gonefishin

Having set up camp near Kilcunda, it was time to head out and look for some of the many caches which have popped up in the area since our last visit 12 months ago. We have ridden along this trail before, so it was good to extend the smiley tokens a little further today.
Our thanks to Gonefishen07 for placing this cache.

While out in the company of the McLookers we set out to get a start on the trail with bikes ready & roaring, plenty of water and snacks packed we were off. The sun belting down made for a hot ride but with sunscreen applied and our helmets for protection we enjoyed the trail and all caches on offer. Most caches were found with only a few DNF'S as we kept the pace up ...pedal, search, sign, pedal!
Thanks Gonefishen07 for your efforts put into this rail trail series, we had a ball.

We have found some Tankengine hides too.
In the area on bikes with The Tritonz with the aim of completing the Rail Trail. The grass was very, very long in many places. Fortunately we did not see a snake...I am not sure how as it was a very snakey kind of day. Thanks GF07, it is a brilliant picturesque trail that gave us the opportunity to see another very pretty part of Victoria.

The cows were watching me with enviable eyes as I made my way along the trail.
The flies were starting to bug me but I was on a mission.

Since moving from New Zealand I have been enjoying the area, exploring and finding caches. I have got a nice streak going and hoping to let it run for as long as possible. This may or may not become easier now that I have found a job but I’m still currently staying with my brother (stinky tom) and his family which includes my nephew (stinky bob).

Steve and Erin out and about on our adventure day, decided to come back to Kilkunda and have a meander down the historic Bass coast rail trail and grab some caches while we are at it. TFTF )

Found on our last day in this area. We've decided to start at this end of the trail and see how far we can get, we'll have to come back to get the rest. At last the weather is pleasant for walking, although the flies are loving us! Apologies for the generic logs. TFTC
We did a huge chunk of the rail today, so much work has gone into this, the variety of hides and types of containers. The weather was good to us, alothou very windy at times trying to blow us of our bikes. We enjoyed the ride and will continue to do some more tomorrow, Thanks for the hides.
Back today to complete this trail, in the comnpany of quiet1_au and GJMMelb. This time we had brought our bikes. Quick find by G. TFTC
G' of GJMMelb made the find on this one - no troubles locating it as I recall - after crossing the big drainage ditch that runs along this stretch of the trail. TFTC
Found with Lochb and quiet1_au. I had no trouble locating this typical hide for this trail. I am familiar with the title cache group and have done some of their caches in the ACT. Thanks Gonefishen07

Found by Mary & David at 1423. This one didn't take too long either. We've met Tankengine a few times over the years now, but have corresponded with him on caching matters for even longer. We always enjoy doing a few of his (easier) caches whenever we're in Canberra. Our thanks to Gonefishen07.
TFTC, found while cycling the rail trail from Kilcunda to Woolamai. The log was damp but got our name on it.
A magic day for a nice ride along this rail trail which we wouldn't have known about if it wasn't for this series. It was so nice that the I expected to see a snake or two lounging in the sun but we didn't see any all day.
The log in this one was a bit damp, we made sure it was tight when we left it. TFTC.

Lots of flies around today and I managed to swallow one right near this one, but we found the cache.
Over for the Melbourne Mega and collecting a few caches while in the area.
Thanks for adding to the enjoyment of this trip.

After the Mega OrionJ and ourselves, LHE Duo decided to head back to Phillip Island for another night. On the way we decided to add some more of the Rail Trail caches to our finds. OrionJ decided this one, Keego and Chil #6 was a good starting point. We went as far as Rail Trail Jim Beam before the heat and time caught up with us. We enjoyed this part ofnthe trail as much as the ones a few days earlier.
This was another one that we managed to find without too much trouble and soon had our names in the log. TFTC

On the way back to Phillip Island for the night with LHE Duo to see the Little Penguins and we decided to take a little look and find a few caches along the Rail Trail on the way.
We started out at the Northern end at "Rail Trail - Keego_and_Chil #6" and followed the trail through to "Rail Trail-Who's for a Jim Beam?". This was not a logical stopping point however the heat of the day was getting to us and also time was pushing on with a few other specific caches we wanted to do, that had something of a time limit on them.
Along the way we only encountered one problem at "Rail Trail-Haveanez's Biggest Phobia!!!!" which we did not find, and I wonder maybe Haveanez biggest phobia may be a DNF.
Otherwise it was a really nice day out collecting 23 along the trail today. Apologies for the copy and paste logs.

During a previous visit we walked the Rail Trail and we fortunate to find nearly all of the caches. When these six Rail Trail caches were published, they went on to our "must do" list for our next visit. After attending the Mega, we headed south east for look for these and other caches. We went to GZ but didn't find the cache. We widened the search area and soon located the cache about 10m away. The container was in good condition. The log was damp but still useable. Thanks Gonefishen07 for this cache and all other caches in the Rail Trail series.
A quick and easy walk by. The log is very damp but still usable. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.

#868 - My forth and final day down the coast today and I had decided last night that I would just do a few easy caches on my way back up North. As I drove past Kilcunda though, I ended up surprising myself and parking…
I still had half a rail trail to complete and a bike in the back! Even though I was extremely tired and sore from the last three days of intense caching, my mind was made up and well.. Once a Mountain Goat’s mind is made up, good luck changing it!
So off I rode, completing the second half of the rail trail. Even though the sun was out in full force today, there was no muggles to be seen! This was a huge bonus and sped up my ride considerably as I did need to be getting home!
By the time I hit the end of the rail trail, I had been able to put 45 smileys on caches and only had 7 DNF’s which was a good figure considering the rush I was in. Once again the high standard and variety of caches that awaited me blew me away. Such a well put together series that keeps you interested and always guessing!
Thank you again Gonefishin07 for the time and effort you have put into this series.

Suscoe's 8th find of the day.
Cold and windy again.
The ground was fairly damp here.
We enjoyed the walk and the fun with the puddles.

In Wonthaggi this weekend for a whole heap of geocaching! Hopefully going to hit 900 finds by Sunday evening.
Friday afternoon, wanted to get the rail trail from Anderson to Woolamai completed, and I did just that. About 35 finds (I think) in about 3 hours, so safe to say i'm pretty happy, a good start to the weekend!
Found it!
