Thanks to my GPS I searched and climbed over about 20 trees just as I was about to give up I did a systematic search on the way out and OMG there it was. Small skrek of joy. YaY
Tftc BaLuke. Bandyoda's big baw baw day out commenced with some drive bys on the way up and then as many on foot as time permitted. Finished up with a reasonable haul over 9.6 km on simply a brilliant Easter day.
Almost another dnf but at the last, as I was leaving the scene, I spotted a likely candidate.

Love this series, geokids have figured out where to look, fun day in the sun SL TFTC
Yep again another no joy for me.
Sure I tried every spot.
Obviously not the right one!

A day walk with my geo friends from Gwinnear to baw baw. great day interesting cache
After an extremely long enforced break that many cachers had to take during this year. Either way I was keen to get out and sign my name in some tupperware.
So tagging along with ahomburg today on a nice stroll and maintenance trip up on Baw Baw. Once again I have been here in summer more times then I have in winter. And every time I think to myself how weird it is to see how empty they are.
Anyways thanks for the cache and taking me to the beautiful part of Victoria.

Was hiking on Mt Bawbaw and ran into some fellow caches. Searched a bit in the wrong area but eventually found the right spot after accidentally putting my hand right there to get my balance. Tftc
summertime
and the living is easy
no skis
no snowshoes
but yes to a cyclist drenched in sweat
dancing on the pedals
digging deep into their suitcase of courage

Took a bit of spotting, but I would have done better just to look at the title here before searching, rather than looking for hiding spots...
While I ventured over to what I thought looked like a likely spot, Illukaperi went and grabbed the cache that she had already spotted from the walking track. I spoke to soon in my last log.
Today I had planned a FTF Hounding trip and 16 kilometer hike starting from Mt Baw Baw.
I sat and watched the lizards, or skinks playing on the rocks enjoying early morning sun before grabbing cache. Found it nicely hidden place, after finding the best way to get to gz.
Thanks for the cache Ba Luke

Find #9132
I was so engrossed in thought and taking in the atmosphere that I actually walked about 100m past this one before I even realized. I dropped the pack and backtracked to GZ. It took a while for this one, I have no excuse!
I was at a loss for something to do this long weekend, so a plan was hatched to hit Baw Baw for a camping trip staying overnight at Phillack Saddle and wandering around on the mountain and also in Baw Baw Village. The weather was absolutely perfect with temperatures in the mid 20s during the day and mid teens overnight. Little did I know that a whole lot of motor heads were also descending on the roads up the mountain for their annual race.
Many thanks to Baluke for the cache. TNLN.

With a week off from the normal grinding routine I sat down and wondered what to do.
With fine conditions forecast for the following couple of day I knew that a day trip to the southern high country and a region I haven’t been back to for a couple of years was a great idea. Quite a few caches had been published since I was last here and so got up early and left home at 6am to arrive at the car park by 8:30am.
Reviewing he cache map headed off up Muellers track with the main goal to find the 2 outer lying caches Gwinear & Orities. All up a 16km meander and was exhausted by days end. A clear indicator that my fitness needs to improve. Headed back down just after 4pm and was home by 6:15pm. An awesome day.
A peaceful walk to this one and like the previous find I was right on it for a couple of minutes before I finally spotted it.

Up at Baw Baw for the weekend, we had left the snowboards at home as the lifts are not yet turning. We woke up this morning to a nice fresh dusting of snow, and so decided to go for a walk on the cross country trails around the back of the resort.
The hide for this one was nice and easy, but it truly is all about the journey. We are starting to get a little further out towards the national park here, and we are really enjoying the natural beauty everywhere. It has been snowing for the last half an hour, and doesn't look like stopping any time soon. Where else would you rather be?
TFTC Baluke!

This was a challenge all the way through. Due to nature's process of deterioration the cache had disappeared almost out of reach. A little stuffing has been added so it shouldn't happen again. Glad the tweezers were handy too TFTC
Wow. That was really hoping hidden and I'm pretty sure unintentional Took us a long time to get to. But got it eventually. TFTC
My only dnf and I was shocked not to find it as I gave it a good go and every other cache had fallen so far.
Oh well
Oh well
Day after Hawks big win. Needed some fresh air and snow fighting so off we tracked. This was had us running around in circles for a little until Atraversiamo put her hands on it . TFTC
Geocaching in the snow is so much fun. Hands now frozen trees are covered in fresh snow
Had me hunting for a while for this one, I had to keep going back to the track and starting again.
One day I'l come back and head further out towards the mountains beyond, today this is as far as I go.
thanks baluke!

Caching on the plateau with Myman. We knew roughly where we should be looking but couldn't locate as the GPS was jumping around. Phone reception here meant we couldn't access the hint, so we walked a couple of hundred metres up the path to the 5 Ways cache, which we nabbed, before heading back down the track to this one with the hint in mind. Found it easily with the hint.
Found with Sixy2Sue ... we came up here to FTF "Orites- all right" (and succeeded!!)
While up here we couldn't pass up the chance to find a few caches on the return walk from
Mt St Gwinear.
We couldn't find this initially so walked to 5 ways for phone reception .. and then returned with the hint!!

I met the Geelong boys along the South Face Road for an awesome day of caching doing the WAB WAB series of caches on Mt. Baw Baw. Along with Jacko83, one half of The Tritonz and Jag2612 we biked, hiked and bush bashed (a little) our way around the absolutely fabulous terrain and scenery that is Mt. Baw Baw. I had never been there before and the views all around were spectacular. We couldn't have asked for better weather and it was in fact so warm that the asphalt in the car park was melting to our shoes.
We started at the bottom of the mountain and worked our way up the road to the carpark where we donned our bike helmets and mounted our bikes. From there we rode, and pushed our bikes up some steep inclines, over grassy 'fields' and even at one point carried them through some thick scrub land. During the whole day we only saw three other people so we pretty well had the mountain to ourselves.
Onto the caches, and the hides varied from quick finds to spending some time searching high and low but in the end we found all the caches that were available for us to find. What can I say, other than this is what caching is all about; awesome location, perfect weather, great company and fun, along with a fantastic series of caches to find. What better way to finish of the day with a nice cold beer in the bar with the boys with fantastic views out of the windows.
A big thanks to Baluke for the caches we found today.

One half of the tritonz had to work so the other half along with Jacko83, Jag2612 and Quasar3671 set out on a mission to do the Baw Baw series. We took our bikes along to help on the journey even though half the time we were pushing them up the steep hills or carrying them through bushes to take short cuts. We all had an awesome time with beautiful weather and great company. Its hard to imagine this place under snow, we will have to come back in winter just to check it out. Thanks baluke for placing this series in this amazing area.
Headed up here from Geelong at 5am with Jag2612 and Tritonz, and met Quasar3671 on the way. Bikes packed, eski's and sunscreen.
Hd a ball up here today on Mt Baw Baw doing this caches - what a great place to visit. No snow this time of year, and bitchumen in carpark so hot it melted out shoes! Fantastic day with no dnfs. All caches were in good nick, some tricker than others.
Thanks baluke for taking me caching in a great part of Victoria - memorable! And thanks lads for a great day!

Found @ 1:42pm, find # 3981.
Today I headed up to Mt. Baw Baw with biggles1024 to find a few caches that will help us complete some challengers that we have been working on.
This is another cache that hasn't seen many finders. At GZ it was a little bit of a search before the cache was found, now back to the intersection that we are seeing a bit of today.

Find #1836
Today I headed to Mount Baw Baw with Stemicmitsar with the intention of finding caches that would help me qualify for the "Lonely Cache" challenge and both of us qualify for the "Significant Hike" challenge.
Another 'lonely' cache. [^] We were both very keen to score at least one find over 1,500m in altitude because in early 2014 we'd found a couple of caches at Lake Mountain one of which was listed as being at 1,430m above sea level but we couldn't crack the 1,500m mark. This cache appeared to be above 1500m but with the altitude data containing a large tolerance, 90m is considered good resolution, it was conceivable that the tolerance could reduce these caches' altitudes below 1500m. As it turned out, that wasn't the case and we both now have twenty find above 1500m. On to 2000m.

[green] A simple find [/green]
We parked the car at the Mt Erica carpark and just walked over here ... It was a bit of a hike but most enjoyable. I had to hurry up with logging this one - fortunately not because my non-caching friends were getting cross but due to some rather aggressive ants.
Thanks and cheers

After a full day and many times in knee deep snow this one was found as the bananas enjoyed a lunch and drinks.
Used a few of the other treasures located on the mountain to navigate to this one and an intensive search eventually found it.
What was interesting here was the number of lyre bird footprints in the soft snow as they were everywhere.
The bananas had seen plenty on the way up and down the mountain, and here was more evidence.
With the weather though that only tshirts were required today as the day was bliss. The shoes were saturated.
Thank you Baluke as this was harder to find than it should have been. But that is because we looked from the west and to the west.
Beginners lessons.
