It looks like the tree this cache was hidden at has fallen and been lopped in the past few months. Many DNF logs.
CO please check your cache

A lot of DNF's at this location. Tree looks like it has fallen and been lopped. Cache may no longer be here.
Nope. Something's happened at GZ and there seems to be no cache anymore for the difficulty rating.
No luck here today, I’m thinking something may have changed recently, with fresh signs of wood collection.
At my last stop for dinner I endeavoured to find the three caches placed at that particular service station, I ended up DNFing the third and final one. I really didn’t want to end the day on a DNF so I knew I’d have to stop for just one more and I chose this one about an hour down the road.
When I pulled up here at about 10:40pm there was a car parked right up against the bush which then turned its lights on and a man emerged and walked into the bush, I watched as it took him almost 15 minutes to return from the bush. What he was doing at this hour I have no idea but it kinda spooked me a bit. Eventually he left so I made the walk through the tall grass over to GZ.
Once at GZ I made the quick find and signed the logbook, got it returned safe and sound as I had found it.
Happy to report that the cache is in good condition and the logbook nice and dry.

We are travelling down from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to Canberra for a 6 day (5 night) holiday, staying in a park cabin at Alivio Tourist Park in O'Connor, and planning to explore the areas around Lake Burley Griffin, old & new Parliament House’s, the Australian War Memorial, Questacon, the Carillion, Black Mountain, Mount Ainslie, and areas around Canberra Airport and maybe out around the Kowen Forest if time permits. Have solved most of the CBR Wherigo Puzzle series and numerous other Mystery/Puzzle caches, so will hopefully get to some of those, and will do some of the Adventure Labs, Virtuals, and EarthCaches in the areas we visit. Photos will be uploaded to logs after our return to home base.
Today we are on our way back to Sydney, but still managed to find some caches along the way. Started the day with some challenge caches and a Virtual cache at North Watson, then collected some of the CBR geo-art Wherigos out toward Majura and an EarthCache plus some Adventure Lab stages at Lake George. We then stopped off at Collector for an Adventure Lab (plus AL Bonus) and some Traditional caches. This was the 50th of 50 finds (last) for the day (day 6), and 203rd find (last) of the holiday.
Our last cache stop for the holiday was here at the Albert Chowne VC Memorial Rest Area, and it was to be a nice quick find on arrival at GZ. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. TFTC Rapidlywild.

En route back to Sydney from Albury. Nice place to stop for a break. Checked for geocache just in case. What a nice idea to commemorate the VC. Thanks for the cache.

Pulled into the rest stop on our way home from a weekend, in the caravan, at Jerrawa.
A quick stop to grab a drink before heading into the bush and CIH.
I really like the idea of these memorial stops. Lest we forget.

The story behind this one starts off with my wife's addiction to Facebook Marketplace... and her desperate want for a road bike. She found her 'dream' bike for sale in Canberra - measly 4 hours away. Contacting the seller and waiting the whole day for a reply, we eventually made contact and was told yes we can have it...if we came tonight. By now it was 6:30pm, so we hurriedly, packed some camping gear, jumped in the car and started driving. Arrived at 10:30pm in the rain, picked up the bike and then started driving home.
We got as far as this rest stop before getting too tired, so pitched the tent in drizzling rain, and got to sleep.
Waking up this morning, I noticed a geocache less than 100m away so ran over and grabbed it before continuing the drive.
Cache found quickly In good condition, the log book is close to full but still has space for about 20 visitors.
Cheers!

Been up and down this highway, so many times, and have picked up a few of the VIC memorial caches. Today I got to meet my new granddaughter for the first time since she was born 5 months ago, and on our return this time, I was feeling particularly weary so pulled in for a rest. Had a look to see if anything was in this rest area, and yes! It’s always interesting reading about our war veterans. Walked over through the marshy grass to a large structure and soon had CIH. Pen was not cooperating so I scrawled what I could.

Stopped off for this one on the way to lunch at Bowral. Quick find once we got through the long grass. TFTC.
On the way to Moss Vale, I had to stop to remove an unwanted multi-legged creature from the car.

Always interesting to read more about the heroics of the diggers for whom these rest stops are named though you won’t necessarily find the info at the rest stop - fortunately Alberts story is catalogued in this geocache.

Thanks for the cache. It made a mundane stop by the road so much more exciting. Found with jomingara on our drive back to Sydney after a weekend in Canberra.
Needed a quick pit stop on the drive home from Canberra to Sydney.
Having done similar geocaches with the geocoach, Raindoctor, I made sure to check the phone and sure enough, we were in luck. Luckily there was just enough light left to make the short walk to GZ and make the find.
Thanks for providing extra incentive to stop during our long drive.

Being I no longer own this series, transferred across to DSD, its time I log a find. I really enjoyed researching the VC's all associated with this series of caches. Thanks for keeping the series alive DSD.

Found during a quick break from the highway. There is obvious signs of works at the GZ so I didn’t have much faith it would be there still. It was! TFTH
With the border open again we are hot-footing it up to see my family. Turns out geobub isn't so fussed with road house food so we grabbed some fruit from Gouldburn and stopped here for a picnic. I checked my phone on the off-chance of a cache and I wasn't disappointed. Geodaughter joined me and while I found the cache, she picked flowers for Mormor. Thanks for the cache.
I stopped here for a regulatory break and thought I would try for a cache as well.

This was find #9 for me as we cached across from Canberra to Wollongong. What is supposed to only take just over 2 hours took us 1/2 a day due to the constant stopping for geocaches. Thanks for the fun

On our way to the Oz Geomuster 2019 - The Gong! We left early on Friday morning, traveling along the Hume all the way to Wollongong. We found a few caches, here and there, along the trip to break up the drive.
We were getting tired now - so we started to find more and more caches. Being a little ways from home, they were more frequent so we skipped some - we'd never get to Wollongong at this pace! Thanks for the cache Rapidlywild.

After using the facilities in this rest area, we went to look for this cache. Despite reasonably accurate coordinates, it took a minute or two to locate the cache because of the amount of leaf and stick litter on the ground. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Rapidlywild for the cache.
