Sad to say we have to DNF this one. We followed the cache page info but there was nothing to be found in the appropriate space. We did a visual check and checked with hands as well, but found nothing. Also scratched around a little in the close leaf litter, but still nothing. This one seems to have gone missing.

This geocacher reported that the cache might be missing.

Muggled? Sad, brought our stamp and trackables but no good. The number would help so not looking in peoples letterboxes.

Was in Wanganui for a drive to pick up a few caches, after a DNF on GC5X27F - Life’s a Beach # 1
(Wanganui), it was time to continue on my way back to the main road and head South back to Wellington.

After getting a DNF, I decided that it was not a good idea to leave Wanganui with the final cache as a DNF, so decided to keep an eye on my GPS and see if I could get a drive by cache before heading home as the weather was starting to deteriorate quite rapidly.

As I was heading South I spotted this letterbox cache and had seen it on my GPSr quite a few times and not taken much notice, decided that today was a good day to check it out and as I neared GZ, I managed to find a parking spot within a few metres of GZ. The weather was really starting to get worst so I decided to see if I could find this cache quickly.

Decided to read the hint, and soon realised where the cache was going to be, it only took a few seconds to find, sign and replaced as found. Definitely a clever spot for a cache, thanks for placing it here and for bringing me to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (12373). Glad to be able to leave the area on a smileyBig Grin.

I have been in New Zealand alone 25 years ago.
This time i visited down under again with my wife.
On our way to Wellington we also visited this cache.
After a short search, we found it in his hidden place.

Thank you very much for this cache and many greetings from Germany.

Straight in there and realised how much I had forgotten about the old days - thanks for the reminder. T4tc

#489. I was driving from Wellington to Hamilton today, and I made a special detour through Wanganui (or is it Whanganui?) just to get this cache! It was easy to find, and exactly where it said it would be.

If the residents were home, they would have heard me pull up in my bright yellow loud car!

The listed trackable "The Amazing Racer Too" was not in the cache. I added a trackable "Saint Nick" that I picked up yesterday from Upper Hutt.

Thank you very much for the cache!

Dot Day... A day trip to Wanganui. When Gap (of Fap and Gap) told me he was going to the powerboat races, I knew today's dot would be history...

I was determined now to place the Percy TB in a safe location. A scan of the geomap and this hide caught my attention... A small detour away from the river brought us into suburbia. The neighbourhood seemed to be quiet, but there's no knowing who was watching. We quickly did the business and wished Percy happy travels. TFTC.

20-Dec-15
#10455. After attending the Rattll BBQ, we only had time for one Wanganui cache as we still had to get to New Plymouth today (via Cape Egmont). Troodle is always keen to find letterboxes, so we made a slight detour to get to this cache. TFTC.

20-Dec-15
It's been a while since we cached in Wanganui, so there were lots of new (to us) caches to find, but unfortunately just not enough time to find any but this one as we needed to get to New Plymouth tonight and it was already 3pm. I chose it because there are not many letterbox type caches around.
These sorts of hides make me nervous, so we made sure we decoded the hint before rushing in. A true letterbox cache! Now to look for a cup of coffee to revive our flagging energies. TFTC.

13-Dec-15
On our way back to Eltham we stopped for this letterbox. The hiding place was very obvious so we quickly found the container. What a quick letterbox!
TFTC!

HockeyHiker19 and I were on Day 17 of our Geocaching honeymoon in New Zealand. We traveled from Wellington to New Plymouth on this day picking up caches along the way.
We wanted to get a letterbox cache and this one wasn't much of a detour in our route. We made our way to GZ where we were able to quickly find the container. We stamped our books, did likewise with the cache log, and placed it back as found.

26-Oct-15
Greetings from West Sacramento, California! Papa EGTH and I are on Day 17 of our 19-day caching honeymoon in New Zealand. Today's travels are taking us from Wellington to New Plymouth.

Once we located the container, we used our letterboxing stamps in the cache's logbook and the cache's stamp in our own notebooks. Thanks for the quick find!

Found it with Team FIN [janahola, kapeka, laalaa & temyllyl]

We had fun with caching few weeks here in New Zealand. Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was pretty good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and really scenary country!

Greetings from Finland

Fifth day on our geo-roadtrip in New Zealand, and caching our way towards south. Logged using our group nickname FIN with janahola, laalaa and kapeka. Driving to south and heading to Christchurch Mega event. Today we headed to Wellington to catch a ferry tomorrow. Tooking some 'detours' via caches of course.

20-Oct-15
On a geoholiday road tripping to Christchurch MEGA and around beautiful New Zealand. Our four people group (temyllyl, laalaa, kapeka and myself) from Finland used group tag FIN to log the caches.

Today we drove from Whanganui to Wellington and stopped to some caches on the way. This was our first for today. Nice hide! TFTC!

Welcome to MEGA Finland in 5-7 august 2016!

30-Sep-15
Today was a day to sign off a few caches in Whanganui. Next was a big walk along the river bank towards the mouth.

Thank you, Oliver, for this cache.

Cheers for the cache.

21-Sep-15
Parked at the gate and headed to the letterbox. Quickly found the cache and signed the log while standing in the lee of the van. Far to cold and windy to be sitting around on concrete steps today. Thanks.

19-Sep-15
On the way home to Palmy after a long afternoon of hockey with Jr. Cacher #2 at the local turf. Had this on our radar for a while now as we need a few more of these letterbox-hybrid caches for a 'well rounded cacher' challenge. A quick find in the dark in the expected location, having educated the Jr. Cacher on how the hint applied to the hide... Returned to the car to sign the logbook as (a) it was raining and (b) we don't (yet) have a stamp. Thanks for the letterbox moomoo21.

13-Sep-15
Found it very fun and took a bit.

A mission was needed to complete one of the last few licence challenges on Rangitoto Island, so a passing comment to C&D at an event and this mission was soon planned. We nearly achieved what we set out to accomplish, with only 1 more cache to find to complete the challenge but that was due to miss-reading the fine print on the challenge page.

So with the mission lasting 48 hours we amassed a great set of numbers, 317 caches found, just over 1200km travelled, about 7 hours of sleep, C&D finding his 180th earthcache, completing the KAS powertrail in under 3 hours and finding numerous amazing geocaches. A lot of fun was had along the way, and some great memories were created. A big thanks to everyone for placing all the caches along the way, this mission wouldn't have been as much fun if they weren't there!

Street nice and quite so no trouble noising around for the hide. No stamp with me, but signed the logbook. Thanks for the letterbox.

Today I was taking the second part of my journey back down to Christchurch after working in Auckland for a week. I left Hamilton at 7am and made it my goal to reach Upper Hutt by 5pm to catch up with some friends. I had only a few caches to grab on the West coast of the North Island. I have never been this way before and wanted to grab the CANZ cache and a few on the West Cape, then head to the Manauatu CANZ cache and grab a few others. I had a massive driving day and got to my friends place at 5.06pm. Not bad. Only stink thing today was Mt Taranaki was shrouded in cloud.
I was passing through and this was too tempting to pass up. I have been driving for a bit and stopped to stretch the legs. Love letterboxes in letterboxes. Quick stop and now off to the Manauatu.

Thanks for the cache.

Out for a day of binge caching in the company of -gonefishing- with the primary focus being the KAS power trail then meeting the criteria for the 142 in 24 hours challenge. After escaping the showers in Wellington the day turned out beautiful and was perfect for the task in hand. Thanks to all the cache owners who provided a great variety of entertainment along the way.

31-May-15
Found during a day out in the Manawatu/Wanganui with Fozzmiester. Managed to mop up the KAS trail in just over 3 hours, averaging 30 finds/hour. With that many quick finds under our belt we continued on for a little longer to bring up 146 for the day. Thanks to the COs who placed all the caches we found.

We were over for the weekend visting my folks and attending a friend's birthday party.
I needed a cache to tick off another dot day and this one fitted the bill nicely as we were driving out of town.

I pulled up outside GZ and EtherLady said "I used to babysit at that house 15 years ago!". I suggested she get the milk but she declined.
Quick find in an obvious location. Thanks.

EtherLady and I both went to Gonville Primary School (where we met as kids) and my folks still live in Gonville.
Thanks for the cache in our old stomping ground Smile

After beautiful days together on the Wanganui River with Silli1310 we went yesterday evening to the city of the same name. As today's destination was not so far away, we took advantage of the nice weather and explored the city in the morning. Since we hadn't found so many letterboxes in New Zealand yet - who knows for which challenge this might be valid again - we headed for them at the end of our sightseeing tour. On the spot it went quite fast that we were in the logbook. Many thanks for the cache.

09-Jan-15
It´s good to find some different types of caches... And a letterbox is rarer than a Traditional...so we had to look for it and could find it. Thanks!

Travelling on New Zealand's roads, Geocaches like this one are always a good reason to leave our camper, walk for a bit and get some air. Wink For this reason, we have really enjoyed looking for heaps of interesting Caches, sometimes in places that we wouldn't have found by ourselves. On our way we've met lots of friendly and welcoming people and the landscapes were breathtaking Surprised

If we then find the Geocache, like this one, that makes our awesome holiday here even better. Big Grin
We would like to thank all owners of the Geocaches we found for their effort and for showing us those interesting spots. Razz
