Out on a bike ride from Motueka and toward Tasman hills area - will turn around once Ive had enough - and need to be mindful of battery health.Lucky I didnt need the hint objects as I hadnt brought any geo tools with me today.TFTC
I walked past this one (again!) but luckily noticed early enough to walk back quickly. Coming from the other side I checked some options (starting too early) but quickly went to the right spot, lifted something up and noticed then the great hide.
Log book was full so couldn't log or replace as we had parked 200m before pot holes
Biked from Taman Domain to here and back. Was just about to log this as a DNF but thought come on take another good look. Glad I made the effort as yip cache was there. Glad I wasn't beaten and are giving this one a favourite point. TFTC
Decided that it would be fun to ride my bike back from Takaka to Nelson after a week of holidays in Cable Bay and indeed it was, esp the climb and descent of Takaka Hill! Picked up a few caches along the way, all simple grabs to not take too much time. All logged with photos to take even less time. Thanks to the CO's for the fun pickups along the way!
I drove a little farther down the series of potholes known by some as a road and parked a but shy of GZ. After a short hike, I came to the right spot. There were several possibilities. I found the cx on the third try. TFTC.
Down for Easter from wellington.
Out caching with pandjag. Great hide on this cache. TFTC

A quick easy find of a nicely camouflaged cache. We looked at the road north and decided that even with our AWD vehicle, turning around and taking the long route to the next caches north along the road was probably the better option. TFTC
starting to think this would have been better on a bike rather than 2 wheel drive car. tftc
After initially overlooking.. seemed to obvious.. d'oh..
Signed all good. Awesome spot to visit.
Thanks

Out for an afternoon bike ride grabbing a few caches. First time on this part of the trail. Some stunning views in all directions. Two horses and there riders camped out on GZ on way towards Motueka. All gone on my return journey and a quick grab and sign. Thanks for the cache.
Nice hide! I was careful not to overshoot this one as I was heading downhill! Another glorious sunny winter day in Tasman, inspired by caches on the trail, thank you.
Thank goodness for e-bikes, we wouldn't have got up here on our old treadlies, tftc.
I disabled my caches during Level 4 lockdown to encourage everyone to do the right thing. Now we’re moving to Level 3 I’m going to leave the decision to search for a cache or not to each individual. Remember you still need to stay in your bubble and a bit of hand sanitiser before and after handling a cache would be appropriate. Keep yourself and others safe.

Wow that was a very cute little Geocache! Took us a bit but lucky find in the end Can’t get enough of the views out here - breathtaking!!
Decided to walk the last 3 caches along here before turning around and heading back out the way I'd come. A good ecision though the car would have been fine in this dry weather.
T F T C Sidewaze.
I've had a busy couple of weeks at work and was originally supposed to be working today, but with a couple of other things looming on the horizon I asked if I could have the day off before starting back on night shift tomorrow night, and yes was the answer. So, with mrs capperz supposedly at work this morning on the early shift I also got up and underway and was on the road from home at around 0615, with a full days caching ahead, culminating with the event near Mapua at (I thought 1500, it was actually 1400 - oops, made it in time though).
With thick fog all the way through from Wairau river bridge to the Whangamoa saddle it was steady driving to get me into Nelson just after 8, and a full day saw me back at home for 1845 after a catch up at The power of 3 cache with Ricardinho, the Seagnoid, TB Dragon and Jojo. A successful day was had with some park n grabs out Central Road way, a couple of previous DNFs conversted to smilies (and a couple of new DNFs to add to the list!) and a few points towards the latest souvenir scramble. Thanks to all COs for their hides, specific stories where I remember.

Seems cache might have been AWOL, I just couldn't resist using something I found at GZ to replace it so the size is now "other".
TregearP and I drove up here some months ago reviewing the area for a possible property purchase.
As it turns out we did find something not too far from here and came back today to get a better perspective of the area.
All in good order. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and replaced as found.
Thanks for the cache.

Despite the warning sign about it being an unmaintained road I decided I'd give a crack and drive through here. Apart from one quite gnarly spot (not sure I'd try it after some rain) it was pretty reasonable. Found all on offer which was pleasing. Cheers and TFTC
For today I decided to locate and sign a few caches in the Motueka/Moutere and their environs. I had a nice drive around especially on the rough Tasman View Rd. Great views from this road.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Geo cycling the GTT over 3 days, picking up caches on the way. I was enjoying the downhill and overshot this. Pushed my bike back up to discover that it is not actually on the cycleway. Bullied my bike over to the GZ, and couldn't find it. Got there in the end, the covering camo itself is well buried in long grass
An easy find on todays cycle trip along the trail. Thanks for hiding this one - greetings from Denmark .
No velocipedes around tonight but the velocity of the wind would have made it difficult anyway.
Found this with Buller Trout whilst out on our bikes for a xmas function. Great day out with Ebikes. TFTC
Found in in September while on a reccy for the latest trip but forgot to log it. Over again from Lower Hutt with a group of tramping club friends to ride and walk some of the local trails and tracks so re found it. A delightful and interesting trail. TFTC
Some nice views along here - certainly today - although I'm not sure this section of the GTT meets the standards of other sections; you'd need a good bike and some dedication!
Fortunately, I had a car and determination to grab the caches along the route.
Another quick find to help the numbers tick on.
Thanks

This made us laugh. The gps showed Velo..., as the cache name. I was convinced it was a shortened name for a prehistoric monster. As we walked up the hill I was monster hunting. Sure enough along the track was a big fallen tree with the sawn off branch end making a backbone and the bush at the bottom making a reptilian tail. I had found it but Jules couldn't see it. OK - Now I have read the full details I can see I was wrong LOL. TFTC.
Beautiful evening for some quick caching before a spot of fishing. Out and about with Scrabbly, Bonnster and Magpiy. TFTC Cheers!
I’ve got to admit to feeling a bit aggrieved about this one. With a name like that I assumed it would be right on the cycle trail, so having to clamber up the bank after I’d overshot, and finding it closer to the road seemed a bit unfair. Mind you, if I hadn’t spent so long searching for my previous cache in the wrong spot I probably wouldn’t have even thought about it! Thanks for placing this cache. A lovely day to be out exploring this section of the Great Taste Bike Trail. Apologies for late logging.
Quick find while doing a few caches in the area TFTC Last time I was up here it was a dumping ground for old cars and the road was almost undriveable, a lot better now
Enjoying our drive in the sunshine and new gps seems to be behaving itself signed log thanks for the cache
Glorious day to grabbing these caches new GPS living up to it's expectations and enjoying the warmth. TFTFC
Today we planned a big loop from Nelson and back. We drove straight to Tapawera and started there followed the river up to Motueka and then back to Nelson. These bike caches were nice quick grabs and we didnt see any bikers while out today. Thanks for the cache [green]Cache of the Day: 46/65[/green] | [blue]Cache of the weekend: 51/142[/blue]
A lovely place to bike along. We found a Belgian geocoin , Brugse Baer 1V .in this one, so will take it to a place in the woods soon.TFTC
Out today for a drive and why not go where there are some caches we have not found.Cheers
StreetWalker suggested that we should have biked the trail, but it looks too hilly for me. I prefer the nice flat cycle trails around home in Richmond .
Didn't spot any cyclists on the trail, but did see a runner, a car exercising a dog plus some walkers and horse riders. A quick find then onto the next cache in the series. TFTC.

#9458. This part of the road was a bit better than the initial part, and the views were excellent. TFTC.
Easy park and grab on a much improved road!! Had to wait for some cyclists to pass. Thanks Sidewaze!!
On a three-day cycle ride with non-geocachers so took my chances when I could. This one was a quick find so I didn't get left too far behind.
Good find on a bike ride we haven't done before, started at Mapua and headed towards Motueka, then made our way back along the main road. Well worth seeing views, lifestyle blocks and sampling Riverside Milk (vending machine)and sea views on the way.

On a geocaching holiday with tmann421 seeking out caches at the top of the South Island. Thanks to all the CO's for making this such a memorable trip.

After driving up from Christchurch to Nelson in a relocation rental car I decided to use the time I had the car to explore some of the area and my target for the day was Motueka. When I had finished hunting caches there and eaten lunch I decided to make my way back to Nelson via the bike trail. Some great scenery and a few hardy bikers were met on the trail. No problems finding the cache.

Quick find. Beautiful views over the sea but the clouds were gathering over the tops. Tftc
Another great view from this trail. We had no idea where the trail went and were surprised at the development. Tftc
Driven down here caching previously. Didn't know that this was where the Great Taste Trail went though. Not an easy ride, I imagine.
Still under development! I thought it looked quite good as it is and could see where plenty of money has already been spent. Do they intend to separate all the cyclists from all the geocachers driving down here with further development?

We walk here often with Black and Chocolate so picked up cache on an evening walk. Nice views from up here!TFTC
Quite some time ago I picked up a Trackable on top of the Takaka Hill, I had high hopes of adding it to a new cache I have sitting in my garage (as it is completely in theme with the cache) but time is precious and I haven't quite got there! After a hurry up email from the TB's owner I thought I better send it on its way so headed up to this cache as it is near home, big enough for a trackable and should get some regular visitors. Left the velocipede at home and brought the ute, still need to find time to pedal this far along the trail. TFTC!
Wow another word to add to my vocabulary - never heard of it befor and had to look it up for the full meaning. Pedestrian is my preferred choice but travelling in the four wheeled jalopy today. TFTC #6227
A team day caching - with Mrs Sobad having the plan, Sobad doing the driving and we both getting out of the car to look for the caches for a change. Not our first time along this road but the first time with 5 caches to look for.
Thanks.
Thanks.
I would have loved to bring our bikes but the family had other ideas and we had our ride this morning instead. A chance to take the Fiat for a run and a few caches too. Beautiful views of the mountains that appear to be receiving a bit more snow today and
Thanks Sidewaze for the cache.

Went for an afternoon drive with Mrs Biggles and Fozzie the geodog to go and find a few more of these caches. Had to wait for a muggle with other dogs to pass by before heading for this cache. No other problems here though. TFTC, Biggles.
This was the second of our finds this morning on a brief caching foray. Easily spotted on approach, log signed and tucked away again. Thank you Sidewaze.
The creative mind of a small boy sans TV, internet, DVDs, playstations, xbox and such can come up with amasing mods to the velocipede. With no other form of transport it had to work too. Thank you Sidewaze for the cache and the memories.
It is so good to see all of these trails appearing. I really should get back on my bike. Quick find with Nanzie TFTC
