Logs
Would love to log this as a find... but there is a local brown snake in the second tyre down from the top right under the 18 sign. Not risking it
At the Bathurst Goldfields with a bunch of Year 5 students. One is a new Geocacher, so a few of us walked up outside the fences to have a look. I did the retrieving and signed for both. Alnic39 and students. Glad I did it this way, as the previous times here have been busy with circulating cars. No one around today. Tftc J27. Have a fave point. I like sharing this game with students.
Thanks for the hint Joshwa. Log was quick to find and in good condition. This filled a spot in my terrain/difficulty grid!
Tankengine, Youban and I left Canberra just after lunchtime on Friday and drove straight to Bathurst. We had solved many of the puzzles or at least started the solves before coming. We were looking forward to finding many smilies this weekend and hanging out with our friends. We met up with our friends and signed caches as CBI24 (Canberra Bathurst Invasion 2024). The group included Fitzy_1965, Minniek, Kittykatch, Joolay, FurfacesLL, GLISS!, Tankengine, Youban, Contesta, Domsky, TikvaNZ, Isopeada, Barb2e, and SmittenGranny. We had an awesome dinner at the Kelso Hotel Bistro Friday night. And attended the ever changing event on Saturday night at The Reckless Brewery Co. Breakfast was at a couple of cafes that were all good and lunches wherever we could find it. Our little cabin at the NRMA Paramount caravan park, where there was just enough space for all three of us (just). We slept ok, but the leaky taps needed attention. We had an awesome time and would love another chance to visit Bathurst again another day. This cache: Found it with many eyes! Tftc!!!
Chooo ooo [Found] on a caching invasion of Bathurst! Log signed CBI24!Thanks Joshwa27!
A weekend of fun with a group of Canberra cachers. The weather was beautiful, cold and clear with little wind and it was a perfect day to be out walking and exploring and enjoying a winter weekend in Bathurst. We signed the logs as CBI24 ( Canberra-Bathurst Invasion 2024)Thanks for all the adventures and efforts to create some fun hides for the Geocaching community. Domsky
Find # 124607/7/2024 10:01Caching adventures continue, plans were hatched at the dinner event last night, word got around, and with some trustee like-minded souls we assembled at the chequered flag start line for a lap of Mt Panorama - KittyKatch, Joolay, fitzy_65, mimmiek, TikvaNZ, isopeda, dty73, FurfacesLL, domsky, Youvan, Barb2e, Tankengine. Signing CBI24 for Canberra Bathurst Invasion Always shenanigans in a group as you never quite know what might happen but its guaranteed to be fun!All caches located, retrieved, signed, and replaced. Thanks Joshwa27 for Forrest Elbow
Sixteen of us from ACT converged on the mountain. Very happy that all but one was posted. Had a great time. Signed as. CBI24 and sorry we could not have stayed longer. Kutgw

We all have been solving the puzzles ove the last few weeks in preparation. Plan for today is to start with Mt Panorama. Day 5 of our Bathurst trip with Team Crackers, Geoturtle37 & Papi4506.Today spent the day caching around Bathurst. All puzzles were solved before the trip. This is one of the caches we stopped at. A quick search and the cache was located, signed and replaced. We stamped the log as 'The Mob' to save time and space. Many thanks for placing this cache, Joshwa27, for us and others to find.
We are in Bathurst with The Drovers, Geoturtle37 & Papi4506 for a few days caching and were all looking forward to doing another lap around the track. We had already previously found a lot of caches around here many years ago and we were extremely happy when version 2 had arrived and we had heaps more to find.We were happy with this one as there was a parking spot not too far off and it was only a short walk back to gz. Here the fun began, even with this many eyes looking it took quite awhile to locate this one which always makes you happy when you eventually find it.While we were searching we were watching kangaroos across the road and wondered what they do about them come race day. Many thanks once more for the cache.
Over in Canberra to attend the Easter Mega with tmann421Tons of caches done while here and this was one of them.Enjoyed the touring around and all the containers foundLog signed tm/ww NZThanks for the placement and the effort put into maintaining these hides for us to find.
*In the area with woolwood9. Bathurst and the caches around / near Mt. Panorama were one of the main areas of our trip - nice to be back here after 5 years.* We soon managed to get the container found here! SL *tm/ww NZ*Thanks for the reason to stop and I appreciate the effort in setting up these caches!*We had a great time around the track!Very tricky location to get to, but instructions were very helpful.
This cache is an eight year old DNF... it gave us all sorts of issues at the time. The main one stemmed from what we now know... we weren't looking in the right spot. Today with the helpful instructions it didn't take long and at last we can take the blue frown off Forrest Elbow. TFTC Joshwa27.
The kids and I jumped out of the car to look for this one and the egg continued her lap. Parking on the grass wasn't allowed so she cruised slowly until we called for a pick up.We got to GZ pretty quickly, balancing on the tyres, I spotted the cache and Miss J reached it. Job done and we called for our ride. She came up conrod straight to collect us, it just looked so wrong! Thanks Joshwa27
Out caching with the boys Glad to get this one. Thanks joshwa27 for the cache Cheers
On a trip out west in the Orange, Milthorpe area with teamMerlin and TARDIS0061 we grabbed a number of caches before heading for homeWith cache in hand we signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. On a cache to the Central West for the day collecting caches in Lithgow, Bathurst, Millthorpe, Lucknow and Orange. This was our first stop for the day and with the threat of rain decided to come and make good our DNF from back in 2016!!! Today with three sets of eyes we basically came at this one above and made a quick find of the container. With the cache in hand, we signed the log then replaced everything as found. Thanks for the cache Joshwa27.The following TBs came through for the mileage: Bob geoMinion, Dave geoMinion, Evil geoMinion, Jerry geoMinion, Larry geoMinion, Mary Hyde's Treasure, Stuart geoMinion, teamMerlin's 7 Deadly Ducks Tag (Lust), Vanlith The Youngling, Hidden Creatures Geocoin TB, teamMerlin's Football
On a long and windy road trip from west to east and back again this summer, we stopped for the night in Bathurst... Of course, a visit to town wouldn't be complete without a lap or two. The man found a (safe) place to pull over neverby, and we walked back up to the elbow. The place on the corner is for sale - If only we had cool couple of mil to spare, we could own a pretty iconic slice of land! Once at GZ, the instructions made it clear where I should look, so I this find was sorted without too much issue. Thanks for the hide Joshwa27.
Find #1784A quick find today while we are returning home from staying with the in-laws in Coonamble and then orange. After looking at this cache for a long time and it filling a spot in my 5x5 grid it was great to get my name on the log. Log and cache in good condition. TFTC
A loose plan was hatched for a 3-week road trip with RoamingHowie to explore locations in Country NSW wed not been to before and of course, find a cache here and there.DAY FIVE: Exploring Bathurst. Found an appropriate place to park and strolled up to gz. RH spotted and retrieved the cache as I was trying to secure some stable footing. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, Joshwa27 ~~
It was time for the traditional post Christmas road trip. The stockings were emptied of presents, feasts were devoured and great times were had with family and friends. Now to get away!Day 5: After some rain last night (in the middle of summer!), the sun is shining today and it was time to cut some laps of Mt Panorama. I dont think the geomobile will be breaking any lap records, but we might find a few more geocaches than Lowndes or Brock. On our second lap now and stopping to grab some caches. We climbed back up the hill and found the cache exactly where it was supposed to be. Again surprised to see we were the first to sign the new logbook. Thanks for the maintenance. The return stroll was much more comfortable. Thanks Joshwa27 for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy. ----------------------------------------------------------The Ballarat GeoTour ends on 4 March 2024! A quick search only, but with the GZ covered with ants and rubbish I decided to move on.
Had a good look walking over all the tyres, near the hint and near the GZ coordinates but no luck. With limited time and only my eyes I decided to move on downhill to have more luck with other caches.
Had a look for this one at night, a very cold 6 degrees and a freezing cold wind...then it started to rain! Needless to say, we didn't hang around much longer and didn't find the cache.
We'll be back one day during daylight hours to have a better look.

Travelling and caching with RoddyC to Canberra & Bathurst before returning home.
This one was a challenge to figure out where to start. Found an entry point and headed up to have a wander around. Headed to the suggested point and there it was in full view. Now how were these two ankles going to get me there to sign the log. Sat on the cement barrier but that is as far as I got. (Perhaps it was cold feet). Ventured bsck down the way I came and took another track. (Some one was looking after me as not one car passed me - up or down - while I was on the track). Success.

We've come out to Bathurst for the weekend for a mini geo-holiday, with the focus mainly on collecting a bunch of pre-solved puzzle caches. After running parkrun in -2 degrees, GGCoconut and I met up with Team Canary and Its_Dozzie for a yummy breakfast before systematically making our way around Bathurst, Mt Panorama and beyond to grab said caches. Truth be told, I have never really been into 'The Great Race'. We were very firmly a Holden family though, and I do recall that I liked Brocky as a kid, because my big brother did. But I will say that these puzzles have kindled a bit of an interest and appreciation for the skill involved and some of the famous incidents that have taken place over the years. Spectacular sky in that photo, and seriously - what a crazy section of the track. One wonders how they manage to navigate this kind of stuff at the speeds they do.... No luck here for us, despite 4 sets of eyes and hands. Thanks anyway.
Turned up early on a pleasant overcast day. Searched as thoroughly as we could in the region indicated by the hint, plus a bit wider. Now, back as home, as I log this DNF, noticed that the last finder mentioned something about cache creep. Maybe we should have looked a bit further along. Too bad. We'll probably return in a few years and have another go.
This was the one we were here for, and like many others no joy for us. Gave it 40 minutes of searching and reading logs. Plenty of clues, but no cache in hand. Saw some iffy driving by some over eager drivers, maybe forgetting this is a 2 way street. Will come back another day if it gets checked. Thanks
Another no go from me searched top and bottom but nothing starting to question my ability lol
TFTC from the Kayakviking.
A lovely walk and turned into a HOT lap by foot. Appreciated filling a combo on my matrix but the hint is quite distracting. Please take care..it is a dangerous spot but……..
Maybe the cache has crept. All good. Cheers KV

A great cache to do at night, no muggles, no cars, easy to find with a head light.
Driving back to Wangaratta today after a few great days spent in the Blue Mountains. We passed through Bathurst on our way up last week but didn’t have time to stop. Today we made a bit of time before lunch to drive the race track and find a few caches.
This was number 2 for the day. I led the way to GZ and pointed in the general direction of where I thought it would be. As I was still talking on the phone and thinking it’s a D5 and will probably take a while to locate, Dean yells found it and made the quick retrieval after brushing a few cobwebs away. Certainly didn’t feel like a D5 but maybe we got really lucky today.

Driving home to Armidale from Orange - the long way to pick up some caches. It's been a long time since I've done a lap of Mount Panorama & this cache ticked off a D/T matrix for me, so it was a must. I was dismayed at the task ahead when I arrived at GZ, but all it took was the right perspective & a quick find was made. While signing, I reminisced about the races I'd been to here & in particular the 6 car crash I saw on this corner. TFTC, Joshwa27!
Out caching with Barnie369 and the geodogs. Stop 7 for the day. GPS had us looking in all the wrong spots before one of us spotted something from their position on top of the wall. My first D5, it was a good one. TFTC.

Tftc Joshwa27, took a lot of looking before we had CIH, earnt the D5. Not surprised to see others says quick easy find, all about the angle you're looking from.
Got our first pathtags yesterday and left one here.
Got our first pathtags yesterday and left one here.
Took a good few minutes of searching but eventually got there & signed. Last log entry was 6/3/2019..... Guess that means there’s 2 caches here and our OC found the original!!! Tftc Joshwa27
Visiting from Port Macquarie, we left the geo kids at home to be watched by the grandparents. We made life a bit hard for ourselves by leaving the car at McPhillamy Park and walking to find the caches. Surprisingly this was a quick find for us after we had a stroke of genius by wondering out loud 'I wonder if it could be here' Sure enough, there it was. TFTC
Ocw the Bebes. Driving through Bathurst so had to drive around the track and pick up a few caches on the way. Took a bit of searching but got it eventually. Tftc

We have travelled from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to Bathurst for a 9 day holiday, camping in our Jayco Swan Outback Camper Trailer at the Bathurst NRMA Big4 Caravan Park, and plan to collect some caches & Adventure Labs in the Bathurst and surrounding areas.
Today we went on a cache collecting loop walk around Boundary Road Reserve, then headed back up to Mount Panorama to have a go at a D5 cache, which we missed on our previous visit to the mount. Then, after returning to camp for lunch and a swim, we visited Kelso for a largish MultiCache and a previously solved Mystery/Puzzle cache. This was the 7th of 10 finds for the day (day 5), and 87th find of the holiday.
After completing our walk around Boundary Road Reserve we headed up to this D5 cache at Mount Panorama. We actually did the Mount Panorama circuit on Day 3 (17th) but were unable to attempt this cache due to a group of maintenance workers (with truck) occupying the only place available for parking the geomobile, so we had to pass it by. But back today and no trouble parking close to the cache, so we headed up to GZ and started the search.
Well we searched for quite some time, and almost gave up, but then the family's chief puzzle solver spotted something, and yes it was indeed the cache that we were seeking. Retrieved the cache container, signed the log, swapped trinkets, and then replaced as found. TFTC Joshwa27.

On a road trip from the cenny coast to Bathurst-Parkes-Narromine-Dubbo-Gulgong and back home with some muggle friends. A drive through Bathurst is not complete without a run of the circuit. We were excited by the fact the big race is just a week out and thus the circuit is well and truly looking like a race track! Re the cache we parked as recommended and walked up for a quick find of a D5 cache. SL and replaced as found. TFTC, Joshwa27.

I was one of the original DNFs so this was particularly enjoyable to find with walk there and Kate_h today!
TFTC. OCW MF428. Thankfully it was a quick find considering the D/T rating. Geodog Atlas was not with us today.
The start of a fabulous adventure. Kicking off a NSW Discovery holiday with nibletricecakes and k8tybee by starting with a group invasion with kittykatch, joolay, smittengranny, barb2e, and onieferret around Bathurst tackling many puzzles and some strands of the TRLT trail. We signed the logs as "Capital Crunchers". Thanks to all the COs for placing these caches for our enjoyment.
Yay! So great to have this series in the bag. It was on the wish list for this weekend
Out for a weekend of caching with some great friends from the Canberra caching crew. Awesome fun with Onieferret, Barb2E, Smittengranny, Joolay, K8TYBEE, Kittykatch and GLISS! Signed the caches as Capital Crunchers. Thanks so much for all the fun. Thanks for the cache!

Thank you
Being a big fan of the V8's, Mt Panorama was on my list of caches to find this weekend. I get such a buzz being here.

Spent a couple of days on the road doing a pre-lockdown pandemic caching run through the central tablelands of NSW. With cold nights and beautiful days I headed for the TRLT (The Road Less Travelled) and the scattering of caches in the towns nearby.
I found myself in Bathurst earlier than I'd expected due to car trouble. Once I'd sorted out the car issues, thanks to Bursons, I headed up to Mt Panorama to grab a couple of caches.
The recent wet weather made the roads slippery at times and many of the caches had taken on some level of water... Thanks to all the CO's for your hides.

Winter 2020 trip to Bathurst. Day 2. I joined forces with Fitzy_1965 and MinnieK for another visit to Bathurst and the surrounding area to visit new caches and try to find caches we have all managed to not find on previous visits. It was an overwhelmingly successful trip where we all managed to find some nemesis caches that stretch back several years and many trips to the region. Despite the cold we camped each night and had a most enjoyable weekend now we are allowed out to roam a bit further.
There were four Mount Panorama caches I need to find to remove some not found caches from my list that have been there for many years. The new cache was found quickly for us today, to say we were happy was an understatement.
Thanks for the cache Joshwa27

With COVID-19 restrictions eased so that we can travel within our state, fitzy_1965, albida33 and I headed into the Bathurst region for a long-awaited caching weekend away to turn as many DNF's into smilies as possible and collect any unfound caches inbetween.
Quick find here today.
Quick find here today.
20,812. Found during Day 2 of a welcome June Long Weekend caching run with minniek and albida33.
After 2 months of being in Lockdown it was great that travel restrictions in NSW have been relaxed allowing non-essential travel (ie Caching) to restart. We decided that a run up around Bathurst to try to avenge a few previous DNFs was in order. A very successful trip with 13 previous DNFs crossed off - including this one - although technically I've never actually looked for this one before because of the muggle factor. Today we were blessed because we found it straight away ! Awesome.
TFTC Joshwa27 !!

Spent a bit of time looking for this cache, I was unsuccessful in my attempt, maybe it’s been muggled.
You can not come to Bathurst and not make a pilgrimage to the Mount; we wanted to add a few more smiles to our list here as well.
Wasn't to be on this one
Wasn't to be on this one
Will be heading out this way at the end of the month. Just wondering if the CO might be able to check on this one.
Being so close to the race, sjg66 and I thought access might be an issue, but we did manage to park nearby and spent about 15 minutes searching everywhere that felt safe. Especially the thing with 5 differant levels. No find for us today, which was a pity as we both need it for out D/T matrix...
Road trip to Bathurst. This cache along the way. So many caches missing or hard to find in Bathurst. A micro here? This was one frustrating search with TheSkype. No cigar
Day 19 Mainland trip
Out and about caching in the area with Tassie Trekkers and we returned to have another go at finding this cache. We last looked for it over 4 years ago a number of times but with no luck and today we didn't fare any better even with four pairs of eyes looking. Oh well, we are here for a couple of days so will try again.
