Thanks for the cache

Had a bit of a look for this one today but couldn't locate a cache.
Thanks anyway Jarkers.
Thanks anyway Jarkers.
We looked in every nook and cranny but to no avail...unfortunately a dnf for us today
We have left the Morisset Geo Muster where we spent Easter and are now travelling South in our interim caravan.
At the moment we are camped near Lithgow at a lovely free camp at Lake Wallace. Today we headed to Bathurst for the day, travelling via the backroads.
We pulled into this area to take care of some family business and enjoy the views prepared for quite a search. We actually located it fairly quickly but needed to return to the car for out TOTT. Not the last of these little blighters today.

We are heading to Bright in Victoria, we don't have to be there til the end of the month. We are caching as we go, wherever it is safe for us to pull up with the van.
After leaving Sofala, we arrived in Bathurst without collecting any caches. We were saving our energy for Mount Panorama.
WE did one lap, without caching, I just checked the various locations for pull up areas, then we got going.
No luck at this location. Will have to regroup on this hide.

A bit of local knowledge put us in the right spot with the right TOT, but we still had trouble retrieving the evil little thingee. But we did. OMG, this is so tiny.
We are King of the Mountain. Thanks Chuze

Cowra - Bathurst
Only stopped for one cache on the way to Bathurst.
In our air conditioned car we set out to find a few local caches. The mandatory lap of Mount Panorama was made, we never come to Bathurst & not do a lap.
Spent some time pocking & prodding eventually felt something move. Had to get a TOTT to retrieve the cache. Very careful in replacing it as we didn't want to drop it. FP for cache & location
Thanks for placing this cache Chuze

We have had a wonderful time caching around Bathurst and today we were fortunate to have the company of our friends Scenic Routers who added to the fun and encouraged us with some creative caching tricks. This was one of the caches we targetted and found. Thanks to Chuze for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
We had no luck here in the dark. Beatin by the cold and wind and difficult hide.... I'll be back
Hi there Chuze.
This is the 1st of 2 caches we didn't find today. [:(!]
We spent quite some time here at around 11:02:00 AM, but we just couldn't locate your cache, so here's a DNF from us.

So frustrating and making me furious. Must be a clever one or the termites ate it
A slow and steady catch up of logging. So far behind, yet as I look over my the list of my unlogged caches, some 400 of them, I am torn between writing out a separate log for each or a generic log for the lot. The only reason it has gotten this far out of control is the time consuming task of logging each one. So sorry to say generic logging wins.
If you the owner really want a fully log please contact me and I will be happy to return and write a personal full log for you.

Finally found it! Got brave and poked around and defeated the bugs and grubs! Tftc
Well that was a tiny little rock in the shoe that is now out. After poking, using a mirror, torch, waking some arachnids and help from a generous cohort the cache was retrieved. Chuze knows how to push the buttons. TFTC
On our trip Canberra to Rockhampton Genghicat and I decided to take a lap around the Bathurst track. I've always wanted to come here and it seems Genghicat was caught up in the enjoyment to. We passed through on 20/11/16 and this is being logged late. We both took a panoramic photo at Mt panorama. No luck for genghicat or myself finding the cache though. I did find and squash a very big spider though in a very suspicious tree. After that I decided I wasn't shoving anything in any of those holes again and sadly we moved on without a cache.

Checked on this, as i was in the area.
Remember tweezers and a mirror or possibly a phone camera.

On our way home to Adelaide after leaving in April we had to visit this town for the obvious reason. Top place. No luck for us today after a long search. Don't like poking around in these places. Great views.
TFTC works well if you have the right tools with u, signed log and was on my way
After a hint from the CO we came back for another go at this one. It was still hard to locate although CO just about drew a picture for us! We were very happy to make the find and sign the log! Thanks again Chuze
BTW we highly recommend all his caches and Joshwa27's too, they don't disappoint!

Second time round today still didn't find it but thanks for the hunt Travelling slowly homewards after a six month stay in Tassie.
Changed rating to 1.5/1.5 because the "new" free app will only display and allow newcomers and non premium members to log and search for geocaches that are 1.5/1.5.
I recommend everyone change theirs also and whilst at it, go give the new free app a one star rating with your 2cents worth.
Really sad to see groundspeak move in this direction.
c:geo is a free app that allows access to almost all geocaches.

No joy but didn't want to disturb the cute little possum. Will leave for another visit.
The cutest cache guard ever! Super carefully went in for this one so as not to disturb or anger. Hope this fella had a peaceful day after the wave of cachers passed. Thanks Chuze.
27/2/16 - A tricky cache that we spent some time looking for, though part of it was spent with MrsG getting distracted by the cutest possum that might or might not have been hampering the search. In any case we left with a DNF.
Fast forward to today. With time to spare before the Bathurst Invasion - Give Peace a Chance, we were back more determined and ready with a different TOTT, and this worked well. Carefully retrieving the cache when it twanged off into the air.......and time kind of went into that slow-mo mode. Thank the caching gods it landed at MrG's feet! We couldn't get our names into the log fast enough. And just as we did some more cachers arrived. A really great hide and a memorable cache, thanks Chuze.

We pulled up and noticed other cachers here already and were glad that we did run into them as they alerted us to an inhabitant of the hiding spot, a possum! We stayed well back to not disturb the resident and only had one cacher handle the cache.
I wanted to take the cache guard home with me. So as not to disturb him we only had one person do the finding.
HAd a look here was not hopeful with no finds this year. Maybe a cache check is needed??

There were two methods of looking I could have used here, one, I could not find, though found it later, the other I used, and it worked quite well and have been using it more and morel, so after a few minutes of deploying caching tool #24, the little damn thing was found, signed and put back.
After the Great Race, I headed south to visit a friend in Canberra. I decided to come back through Bathurst on my return journey north.
Time to tackle some if the caches on that mountain!
Another DNF for me on The Mountain

Winter weekend in Bathurst and Surronds with Sol de Lune. Five DNFs in a row, very dressing. Oh well, plenty to try for on a future visit !
Thanks.

Bathurst/Orange weekend trip August 15 with Albida33....
It's a tree...how hard can it be. Very, obviously! So alas, no joy for us here either. Even had a couple of muggles who turned and asked if we geocaching......as they wanted to see what "one" was. Told them we couldn't show them...as we couldn't find it. More dented pride. Oh well, maybe next time.
Thanks anyway....glad it was a great day to be out....was loving the sunshine.

Might have solved the dang issue as with the depth shoved in my fingers haven't reached them but with the previous dnf I did shine a torch into likely spots and still didn't see them. Tftc
Don't know why people keep saying "last geocacher has really destroyed the place". GZ looks the same as it always has. Actually it looks a bit tidier here from when the geo was first placed.
Found the tree and a red backed guardian. Not going to risk it today previous cacher has done a bit of damage on the search will leave it for now
After our worst day of caching on our way to the Mega here at Bathurst we decided to detour on our way home to have another look for these sneaky hides, armed with a few hints. Spent quite a while looking fot the cache on our drive today around half the circuit of the mountain but didn't unearth. After running into Scenic Routers at Forest Elbow we returned to finally log a find and complete the lap of the circuit. Very, very sneaky. TFTC (I think)

Another perfect Autumn day for caching around Bathurst with Mr Router.
Not many muggles around and mostly quick finds.
Well worth the D rating and very evil hide.
Thanks for the cache Chuze,

Hardly worth stopping anymore after so many dnfs. A disappointing day caching on Mt Panorama. Unlike other cachers we had no PAF option.
Out and about but failed to unearth his one.
One of several DNFs for the day.

Again had to phone a friend(thanx Mr Griz) ,then lucky Mrs R has little fingers, one question why is it a micro in this location????

Quick outing to meet up with the Routers. Searched for a bit before PAF was used. Mrs R got the prize.

I didn't think the day would come when I would log a smiley against this cache.
And even more unanticipated, giving it a favorite point.
Thanks Chuze for a cache that just keeps on giving (or taking, depending on your level of frustration).
My parting words are: Seriously?!?! I am CERTAIN I looked there before!!! [B)]
I will take this as a caching-zen experience... even if it feels like you keep looking in the same places, sometimes looking in the same places can yield the desired results....

Very satisfied to have found this - with a little assistance from a friend.
A great hide although precarious. I wonder how long it will be before gravity consumes it.

Even reading through the previous logs and using every resource in my geo-kit - no luck today. I will try again next time through. I love the views from up here, thanks.
First trip to Bathurst (long overdue) as graduating from CSU tomorrow. Had to do customary lap around the great mountain and stopped to grab a couple of caches.... Definitely a nano this one.... not sure if I found it where it was originally placed, but placed back in the same spot.... definitely a difficult find for this size cache and the surroundings it was in.... wouldn't take much for it to disappear into its surroundings.... Will try to grab more over the next day or 2 if I get a chance. TFTC.
Sorry to log this so long after the find. I thought I had logged it. I found it with Kellick Guider after some good hints from Apsley 168 re equipment needed.
Back again armed with another geocaching tool, namely a mirror( and a bit more of a hint).
This time I can report success!!! Halleluiah!!! (or however you spell it)
Took a long time to extract from its hiding spot - I must remember to add tweezers to my kit bag.
Thanks for a great cache, Chuze -definitely worth a favourite point.

I've been back twice, delaying dinner preparation each time and, despite being given a hint by the CO, have still been unsuccessful. This truly is a wicked hide!!!
Another fruitless search!! We searched in all the places we could find and pondered all the possibilities, but had to walk away empty-handed and our feet dragging. This is not a good day - our 4th DNF.
New hints helped. Took 30 mins. Was just about to go and I thought try here one more time and there it was. One of those you find in ten seconds or will take half an hour. Too fiddly for my liking. Tftc
Hi Chuze, I can see the cache has been checked and is still in place but that is not the cause of this log.
I am concerned for the GZ and I think you should reconsider or tweek this hide a little. Nothing wrong with making a tricky one, but you need to carefully chose GZ when you do as the tree at or at least near enough to GZ to attract attention has already suffered a decent amount of damage from frustrated cachers no doubt. I know it isnt your intention to have people damage the tree but not everyone who hunts is careful (and a lot of those who do not take care are probably unlikely to put DNF logs online so it has probably had more visitors than just those listed).
To avoid further damage I think you need to provide a clear hint and reduce the difficulty, or if you'd like to keep it nice and tricky, find a more suitable location for the hide that isnt so fragile.
Cheers, Zal

I checked the area just a few days ago as The Bathurst 1000 has finished now Then again tonight after recent unnecessary needs maintenance, i know that the so called damge has actually been recent campers hence the fresh remains of a campfire and rubbish everywhere (although i suspect that was done by wild animals raiding a bag of trash).
Other than that, there has been no damage done to GZ or tree's and the area is pretty much the same as it was when the geocache was placed ! (Note to self, CITO)
You might like to also observe the tree that has been slowly falling apart due to, i suspect, termites which have already killed half of a tree and by the looks of things, are on way to compleating the job.
I suggest that you post a DNF if you choose to log an unsuccessful visit rather than a needs maintenance and by all means vent your frustration on that.
Thanks for the concern but i am fairly familiar with common geohabits and how geocaching works. Also i do regular checks on all my geocaches, as is tradition, and have got to know these areas really well
I really dont think its that hard as a pair of noobs found it. Maybe forget what you think you know and try a new approach.
Happy geocaching and i wish good luck to everyone.

First time i've ever watched fellow geocachers in their search and not been a part of it ! Was so hard to just sit there and say nothing !!! As it is my own placement AND a FTF i would not budge and give anything away, sorry Sibling, it wouldn't be fair on other cachers trying so hard for that FTF georush ! I am very proud of Pezzinni and Sir Eldred for their geoskills and congratulations you guys on your 1st First To Find !
No luck here. I spent a solid half an hour on this, had the place to my self and I busted out all my good searching gear. I'll be needing more of a clue.

Checked the cords and they are good within a 1m to 5m accuracy of gz. But my friend had 0m at gz so will leave cords as they are. Also raised rating up 1star.
I can see we are all racing out to find these new ones .
I suspect the idea of 'coordinates' might be liberally applied here... But I have been wrong before!
Looked at GZ and surrounds to no avail...
