Found it but needs some tlc couldn't get the Tupperware box out of the water and the log was completely gone. I'd say this cache is no longer active
Heading north with evilC for some adventures. The lake was on the cards due to the challenge cache, and certainly a lovely place to visit. TFTC!!
A bit of a walk round the lake, the path is a little overgrown in places. With stick out front, swatting away any cobwebs, and trying hard not to be scraped by the gorse
Thankfully the cache wanted to be found, and the log was soon being signed. Thanks Tufty for the hide, and bringing us here.
Was not sure if walking along the shoreline was an easier option as the lake level is has lowered a little?

Thanks. Been here several times but didn't know there was a track round the lake edge til now.
Walked straight past this one on the way to and from the 35 degree challenge cache... had to go back in when I realised the cache was there. Quick find. Nice area. TFTC!!!

Took a minute until gps settled, then was logical. The photo marks X. Thx. Thought might have to come back. Will camp here soon. Tftc
TFTC... had quickly strolled over to this GC after retrieving Geese Lookout, and wasn't able to take in too much of the scenery as the track was slightly slippery after all the rain we've been getting lately, and had limited time to make it to Kawakawa for an appointment... so with fingers crossed, hoping for the best, found this one easily thanks to the hint, on point co-ords and a bit of kicked in geosense and determination not to have a DNF... cache was soon in hand.
Cache was damp internally, as well as log. Dried best I could, and replaced the snaplock bag as the other was a bit worse for wear.
Placed homemade SWAG in, signed, replaced and rushed back to the cachemobile and made appointment with 10mins to spare!
Next time I'm here, I'm bringing a picnic blanket, a good book, hubby, geodad and muggle mum! Oh, and definitely going to attempt to find the Challenge cache not too far from here

On a bit of a road trip this weekend to try and make some good progress on the new Mystery at the Museum souvenir challenge. I have very few unfound caches anywhere near home base, so these challenges are a good excuse to head off on a mission and potentially visit some new places.
Never been down to this beauty little lake before. It's amazing where geocaching takes you and that's one of the things I like about this game. After thinking about the hint for a bit, I zeroed in on a possible location and sure enough, there was the neat little cache. Signed log and replaced safely as found. Pleased to also find another gem for the challenge too. TFTC.

Today was our second day of our trip to the Bay of Islands region. We started the day by driving to the end of the road were we spent the night and enjoyed a short morning walk along the edge of Lake Manuwai. During our walk we came past the location of this Cache and after a short search we had the Cache in hand and signed the log book. Cache number 200 for me. TFTC
Yebo tufty
A day for geocaching it is today, not many , but all in an area where I have not been yet and I must say , it’s a truly gem that lake there in front of me
Walked a bit around and enjoyed the tranquility tremendously

I came up from Auckland yesterday for a CITO in Onerahi, Whangarei and to collect several old caches and other caches for the 35 degree challenge I’m doing at the moment. I stayed the night at Stonehaven Motel and after a very early start I’m up North.
This cache also happened to be on my radar today, and why not? It's on the way to the 35 degree challenge final.
I rang the C.O earlier, I couldn't find a way to these 2 caches, there was a track thru the bush but it came to a dead end. So he put me right on that one, why I never saw the entrance I don't know.
Anyway, this cache is all good here and I'm thinking I would love to stay another night somewhere but I better get back to reality. Thanks Lou.

Northland Day 3: Today’s journey brought us from the beaches of Doubtless Bay, down through the East Coast Bays to Kerikeri, by the Bay of Islands. Today’s highlights were primarily sweeping views of the harbours and bays of the East Coast of Northland, and while it did threaten to rain, the storm never did arrive to where we were and we had lots and lots of sunshine. Good and productive day overall!
The following is the specific log for each cache:
Stopped by here as the last stop before checking in at the accommodation at Okito Bay. Nice and serene place here, and enjoyed the little walk and the view. TFTC!

Took a few minutes to find. Being Canadian, we don't know the name of most trees. Luckily the coords were okay. TFTC
Our 1st visit to lake Manuwai. No one about most likely due to the rain. Cache quickly found using the hint. Log damp otherwise all good. TFTC
Bit of a scorching day up here in the Far North - set out in the evening to fill some holes in S35 minutes - this nicely filled one; a pleasant meander around part of tthe lake's edge.
Plenty of activity at the lake this evening - rowing/ swimming/ splashing !
Thanks for this cache, Tufty, and the opportunity to fill another of the many "minute" holes in your Challenge.

#9577. A nice walk to explore more of the Waipapa hinterland. Lake Manuwai was all quiet when we visited. Quick find. The cache was no longer a 300ml jar, but in reasonable condition. Although the log book was a bit damp, it was still ok to write on. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

8.10pm - DAY 1 of 3. This is our first full day of caching in the Northland Region on this trip. Plan was to travel up from Dargaville through the forest to Kaikohe and stop when we needed sleep.
Sorry to say a lot of caches on our first leg were missing and a lot needed repairs done to them.
Would advise future cachers to check the DNF's before wasting lots of time trying to find these ones.
Trip took us to lakes, boulders, churches, cemetries and a great array of other locations.
The kilometres just seemed to flash by with food and drink stops sometimes missed.
Don't know how we ended up in Kaitaia for our night stop but woke up the motelier at some unusual hour for a bed. SLTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap) and Mr Davidson (of Davidson clan). Signed most finds as BGH.
Visiting Northland for Easter... The plan for today was to head up the Kauri Coast to Hokianga Harbour , then skip across to the Pacific Coast until we were somewhere near Kaitaia. We really hope to make a big dent into several challenges we are working on...
Maintenance and mowing contractors have done a great job at this location. However, away from the grass verges, the scrub has quickly reclaimed any attempts to tame it. We struggled to find a pathway in here, and found it much nicer to walk along the lake edge. After a bit of a scramble, this one was in hand. TFTC.

Up North for the easter long weekend with Squirrel nutcase and Gap from FapandGap making our way up to Cape Reinga. This cache was found after dark we had finished our fish n chips at nearby Waipapa we needed to walk along the lake edge to get here as the track was a little hard to follow in the dark. Soon had the cache in hand.

I was up in Whangarei for the long weekend and today joined up with tikitour and PageHeart for an all day road trip around Russell, Waitangi, Kerikeri and the outskirts of Puketi Forest. It was a great day out with great company, lots of caches found and pleasingly not a single DNF! We mostly signed the logs with some variation of TPV for our caching names.
The track was getting a bit overgrown, but the cache was a quick find once we got to GZ. A nice area, TFTC!

Out for a days geocaching road trip with mr tikitour, Vistra and Pageheart. travelling around the mid north and into Puketi forest. What a great day, weather was good, great company , lunch on a deck overlooking the beautiful Tapeka point and not a DNF today.....we signed the log in variations of TPV to save space and time.
Once again geocaching has bought us to a lovely spot that we may never have seen, it was serene and peaceful with no one else here but us. this cache took a bit of bush bashing but got there in the end. vistra and mr tikitour did the hard work....TFTC

So today saw a geocaching adventure with Vistra, Tikitour and myself. Our adventurer started early in the morning and saw us heading for a bunch of caches both new and old in Russel and Puketi Forest and surrounding back-roads. In total we spent over 14 hours on the road and out caching visiting places that we would never have gone without caching,
Logs were signed with initials VTP or a variation of the letters to save time and space.
A little bush whacking was needed to reach but certainly worth it!

After the goose chase the heavens opened up. It took a big effort to get out of the car to brave the elements. Quick find at go with gps spot on. TFTC
We'd planned to head out to Te Ngaere area geocaching today but the weather wasn't in our favour. Opted for two local ones instead. A quick dash out and quickly found the cache. A lovely lake area. We'll be back with the kayaks in the summer to collect the other water ones. I only need one more minute on my 35* challenge too so I'll be back very soon. And I can use both these caches for your 20 cache challenge which I'm trying to get this month too. TFTC

Cool cache found with with my sons. Pen not working so left it alone, but recorded here anyway.
After 2 DNF's at the lake, was a bit worried there may be a serial muggler... but yay! thankfull this one was right where it was meant to be. Thanks for the cache & showing the way to this obscured little track, and renewing faith in my caching eyes LOL + stegasaurus; the Jurassic-park-esque landscape seems a suitable home for now
On a mission this weekend with Cats&Dragons, with a the main goals of reaching Cape Reinga to find the Virtual caches up there and the 35 and 36 degree South challenges, plus with anything else in between. We had a great time touring around Northland, and it is a pretty spectacular place. Being from Southern Northland, it has reminded me that I need to visit this place more.
The initial plan was to head up the west coast and on to Ninety Mile Beach (which was a huge highlight of the trip) and then down the east coast, but the plan was flexible depending on progress. We mostly achieved our ambitious plan, but due to time restraints had to cut back a bit from the planned list. If we had another day I think we would of achieved most of what we had planned.
Some of the figures for the trip were, 1600km's travelled in a 48 hour period, 37 hours of caching, 4 hours of sleep, and 7 hours driving up from Hamilton and back, with a total of 176 caches found!!
Thanks to all the CO's for placing these caches and showing us around Northland.
A bit of a hunt to locate this one. I'm sure it'll be much easier during the day, still we got there in the end.

This weekends little adventure was in the company of HKCB (as we'd both been given leave passes by our respective partners) so off we set.
The primary goals this weekend were to collect as many of the earthcaches as time would allow, the two virtuals, and complete both the requirements for the S35 & S36 challenges. Mind you this did not stop us working to collect anything else that we could find as time allowed.
It was a great trip with the weather playing its part so that we saw a great variety of countryside between caches and far too little sleep.
The result was 1600kms (over 48 hours), 189 caches (35 hours caching) & 4 hours sleep, not bad for a couple of beginners. Thanks to all the CO's and those that maintain the caches for us to collect on our too brief tour of the north.
Now its fully dark time so will be interesting to see how long we last as the previous night we only got 1.5hours sleep
Thanks for the placement

#1666 Spending a week in the North and eeking out the caches up here so as to continue my streak. A new part of the lake to me- despite being here many times when I lived in the North, I'd never ventured down this path. Phone GPS was jumping all over the place but got there in the end. Accidentally left my GPS at home. TFTC Tufty
A quiet perfect day at the lake. Could not find Geese. But this one was fine.
This cache is sooo tantilisingly close to being an easy and convenient minute 10 find . We deliberately found this one on our way back from the challenge cache to start a little bit of 'distance' caching on our way back to Paihia. Thanks.
Lovely weather for Ducks and yes they sure would of enjoyed the lakes water levels today. Had seen all these New caches' pop up' last night. It sure did look like an interesting wee road trip gathering as I took the EXTRA long way home. Most enjoyable as haven't been here for an age, so was lovely to have a wonder along the lakes edge and make an interesting find with YES an empty log book to for a FTF.
A little walk along the lakes edge...how about a little walk in the lake. Tide must have been in today..
Umbrella up, jacket on, gumboots on which was just as well as some of the walkway was under water - good hiding spot!
