They were doing maintenance on the path in the area so I couldn't do a thorough search
Originally took the Hawkehurst tce approach to the start of the bridle path, only to discover the last block closed to even pedestrians. Sigh, back down the hill, and up bridle path rd. I'd planned to get a cache and I was going to damn do so. Felt the extra distance for the last wee bit, but was rewarded with spotting not one but two skinks at gz. Tftc!
Out doing [the Pipeline Cache](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC231WA) today and made a little detour to nab this. Easily found along the fenceline in the long grass. TFTC!
We walked the Bridle Path today from Lyttelton to Heathcote. Such a great historical walk, can't believe it has taken me so long to do! This cache took quite a while to track down, it was well hidden in the long grass, but found eventually after the rest of the party had given up and continued up the hill. Last signed in October 2020 but all in good order. Tftc!
After completing the Ad Lab cache(s) in Lyttelton I thought I’d stroll up the hill and collect a couple of caches including this one. Unfortunately I couldn’t locate it anywhere. Checked several posts, especially the most ‘obvious’. As it hasn’t been found for almost a year, I wonder whether it’s still there. If it is, it certainly eluded me!
P.S. The nearby views were great, worth the trip up!

Enjoying the weekend in CHCH to attend the beer festival. Some geocaches collect being in town. TFTC
Easy to find with the hint. Both container and logbook are in good condition.
We enjoyed our hike. Warm, but not too sunny.

I'm in Christchurch with my wife who is undergoing surgery in Christchurch Hospital and what better way to take my mind on what's happening to her than to go geocaching. On Sunday I ended up doing 100 caches in a day with the help of the Thompsons Track and a few others. So the next few days the numbers are somewhat less. Having got the four TMGT caches in the Christchurch series last weekend, I thought that it would be a good opportunity to get the Lyttelton ones today.
After getting the nearby TMGT cache, I looked at the map to see if there was anything else in the vicinity and noticed this was only 350m away so decided to go for it. Big mistake... while c:geo informed me that the cache was 350m away, it didn't let on that there was the same distance (slight exaggeration) in altitude gain, so by the time I got to GZ I was sweating like a pedophile in a Barney suit. With salty sweat dripping into my eye I searched for the cache and soon found it at one of the hinted items. I quickly found it and tried to not make the log any wetter than it already was and was soon on my way back down the hill to my geo-mobile. By the time I got there I had dried out sufficiently and my heart rate had returned to a non-critical level.

I have just moved over to the South Island from Australia. Hoping to live and explore the country over the next few years and find a lot of caches on the way. Cheers for the hides.
We were visiting Lyttelton Market and went for a walk around the area and then over the Bridal Path all the way back to Christchurch.

My silly phone had me 42m away from gz but thankfully the satellite map was good. Ignored the gps and went for the hint along with the elephant track! Gosh, my fitness has plummeted. This was hard yakka. Beautiful day though. Thanks for the hide.

Today is a calendar day, and with the good weather forecast, StreetWalkerNZ and decided to go to Lyttelton to look for caches which involved a walk, before the tracks get any more slippery with winter approaching.
I haven't been on this section of the bridle path before, and SW assured me it was flattish. Ha! A bit of a slog up, but an excellent track. No slip sliding here. Left a TB that I have had for a wee while now. TFTC.

#17159. After a decent walk to the second cache of the day, it was time to drive a short distance and go on another walk. It was a bit steeper than I expected, and we were rewarded with good views and a quick find. TFTC.
Out with my friend ash and we decided to score some caches and introduce her to caching. With StJohn NZ as well.

We decided to go up and over the hill and this one was rather conveniant. Great views of the tug boats going out to help an incoming boat from up here. Cheers
After going up with the gondola, we chose to head done to Lyttelton on the Bridle Path. With the blue sky, we really enjoyed the walk and the views. TFTC
Good wee wonder up, got the step and floor count up for sure! And what a busy place, had to wait for a gap between muggles. TFTC!!
A nice and quick find. Dropped TB. A wee bit of a puff up to GZ. Cheers.
A nice day for some caching around Lyttelton. Some nice walking and views too.
Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining these caches. Cheers.

Due to some reasons I had to stay for 6 days in Christchurch. In the end I was happy for this opportunity, started to like the city and had a lot of time for searching some caches.
Thank you to all the owner for hiding. Had a lot of fun! Sorry for the standard log, but I can't remember them in Detail.
Wish you all the best.

Just finished night shift - no better time for a walk! It's so satisfying to be out and about being active as the sun is coming up . TFTC (3475)
Found while on an evening walk last week. I almost forgot to log it! It was a lovely evening and by the time I came down to this cache I decided I might as well go all the way to the bottom and back. Thanks for encouraging me to walk a bit further.
A long walk up from the harbour but rewarded with a great view on a nice warm afternoon. Tftc

Had a Lyttel stroll on both old and new paths today.
Views are more awesome from the top of Bridle path though But from here I had a good look at the place I am working the last few weeks - a demolishing job on Selwyn street
Random note: I will now look more closely to the trees when I walk in the bush somewhere because I just learnt what **lichen** is.

Found this with my lovely son during a beautiful sunny winters day.

Found with quinella last Saturday but forgot to log it. We had no pen so took a photo - apologies.
I took the grandkids for a stroll, a history lesson, a bit of geology and found this on the way. TFTC
TFTC. On holiday and I was just waiting for a break in the weather to get out and about. The target today was modest - pick up a few caches on the way to Diamond Harbour and beyond where I was seeking a few solved puzzles from the D/T series. I was in the company of The Cornish Tin Miner and Weasley Hound, Caching Secret Weapon In Training. As happens in my caching things don't always go to plan.
This cache was the first deviation - but the Bridle Path looked so lovely from the Lyttelton side that we just had to do this cache first. The cache was really well located and I was surrounded by bell bird song as I signed the log.
A favourite vote from me for the beauty of the location.
Thanks walkers for placing this cache.

Surprise walk this treck again with friends. Never say never. This time is much easier from Gondona to Lyttleton. Tftc.
The view was too beautiful forgotten to go d cache after photo. Walk back 377m to find because I may not come again. Lucky found before 6pm.brilliant. tftc.
I can't believe that I couldn't find this last time as it was so easy today. There was only one TB in the cache which I picked up. Left a few small toys in the cache.
A lovely boxing day early morning stroll. On holiday in New Zealand for 4 weeks & staying with my family in Lyttelton

Took the Gondola up to the top then walked along the ridge and down this famous path to meet a friend in Lyttelton. Lovely view from up here. TFTC
TFTC. Nice quick find on a walk from Lyttelton. Fine day. Windy at the summit.
Haven't walked the Bridle Path since my (now teenage) son did a topic on the first settlers in Canterbury when he was in year 6 at school and part of it was to walk from Lyttelton to Christchurch along this path.
Slogged my way up from Lyttelton to make the quick find. Fabulous views from this path. TFTC.

It was quiet here, but busy down in the port. A perfect day for a wander up the bridle path.
Cheers and thanks,

Out for a walk over the bridal path with my muggle friend would be silly not to collect this on the way past. (Well truth is we went down the other side once I remembered this was here or we would have just headed back down.) I must say she did like the idea of caching so you never know. Thanks for caches
On a big urban adventure with the family and we walked past this one on our way.
1. Catch two buses
2. Go up the Gondola
3. Have a cuppa and plan the trip as the cloud was low
4. Decide on a route
5. Walk down to Lyttelton
6. Catch two buses
7. Walk up the hill
8. Done!
We covered just over 5kms, we had a blast.
Thanks for the cache.

I was waiting for the right type of weather for this stroll. The temperature was perfect for all the uphill walking
No views. Oh well you can't have everything. Thanks for the exercise and the cache.

A quick stroll up the hill (though I did slow to stay behind the muggle ahead). Had the log in hand in short order and headed back down to the car as I had another mission to undertake. TFTC
lovely sunny morning to take geomutt for a walk along the Bridle path. Beautiful views. Tftc
Had a nice lunch in Lyttelton, enjoyed the mountain bike race and decided to get some exercise - so what better to do: Walk up the hill and enjoy a nice day. TFTC
Wow! Haven't walked up here in a while, good stretch for the legs, the pilgrims carried pianos on their backs over this hill!
Went further than we needed too but the views were worth it.
Walked back down, found the cache and realised we had left the pen in the car...all the way down the bottom. Well looks like we will have to slog it out back up here

This took longer than it should have...once I had brain properly engaged it was a straightforward process of elimination. TFTC
Its always nice to go for a wee stroll up this path and get to appreciate the views from the top. TFTC. Cheers Bo

It was such a lovely day that I decided to walk up the Bridal Path for some exercise. Nice quick find. Stopped and watched a cargo ship exit the harbour as I descended back down the path. TFTC.
Those early pioneers must have been very fit to manage to walk the Bridle Path after the long sea voyage and with all their worldly goods. We were puffed just carrying a GPS and pen. TFTC
We concur with the thoughts of Meandpedro. We were sucked into that gentle stroll and were rewarded with a wonderful view, with all the audio and a neat little find. Thanks for the mini series.
Nice cache! Found it with ease. But unfindable by muggles. Great job! Will come back and write in our log.
FTF 210pm
Came out during the morning with the family and walked part of the tunnel with the other 20,000 people.....great fun; the boys enjoyed it...next time we'll bring the bikes! Got home & was having lunch when I noticed this cache published along with another. Drat...and I was planning on attending the Last Chance Event at 2pm...what to do? The Event is kinda/sorta/just about half way between home & lyttleton(ish). No one wanted to come to the Event with me...so I headed out a wee bit earlier....and detoured to the Event via Lyttleton (as ya' do)...LOL.
After a wee search nabbed the first Trad then drove the dodgy narrow high roads around to the head of this walkway. Couldn't park close so parked up on the very edge of one of the dodgy narrow side roads (the locals were!) and wandered up the road, then up the track. Pretty steep wot...but with time ticking and GZ approaching kept pelting up....soon caught up to a couple women battling up...so I had to hang back until they made it round the corner and out of sight....they looked to be struggling! Lept gazelle like up to GZ and made a quick find and sign.....then tumbled back down the track to the car (passing a group of intrepid walkers in all the gear - and heres me running down in jeans and a t-shirt - oops)...Lept in the car then zoomed (obeying all road rules) to the Last Chance Event...Nice.
Thanks for the cool cache on a funky walkway. Pretty steep but awesome views!
