Ended up in the Unexploded Bombs area whilst searching for this one, but survived to log the find.
found it easily. this is why. aching is so fantastic. taking people to places we may never have come to otherwise. tftc
Good find and well maintained. Had a great day out walking around POINTNEPEAN. Learned a lot about history. Thanks for the Cache and leading is here.
Having a few days on the peninsula, so searched out some caches. Point Nepean was still quiet on this chilly morning, making searching easier. Love the effort in decorating this container. It took a little to locate, but time spent finding a cache like this is well worth it. All in good dry condition. TFTC BorisB&Natasha & Nut bear
This fortified zone is way bigger than I thought! A great walk and the cache container fitting. tftc
Quick find, great coords with LittleBoss2 while doing the lab caches. Fave added for the container
Found with Bogonghazy on this beautiful sunny day. Thanks for placing the geocache
After a rainy day yesterday, it was great to get out and stretch our legs today. There were a few muggles about but we discretely logged our find and were back on the track.
Our GPSr had us searching for too long on the wrong side of the track, which wasn’t very user friendly, until Mr Riddell widened his search and found it straight away!
Go figure!!!
TFTC and another interesting area.

Easily found on the yomp back to my car, which was appreciated as I'd taken too long in the hills and sand and now needed to get back to Melb' in a hurry. TNLN-TFTC! Cool area; I hope to be back some time.

Awesome. Great seeing the range. We were wondering if it was possible to find any bullets or shells?? Haha.
We were in Frankston today picking up our new Geomobile, Rogue (our second geomobile named after an X-Men character).
We had some time to fill in between test driving, going to the bank to pick up a bank cheque and the dealer getting the car ready for us. So what do you do? You go geocaching in an area you don't often visit.
Once we had the Geomobile, it was a case of will we make it to the ferry on time. Short answer, NO!
What to do, what to do.
We quickly headed down to find a few caches.
And in doing so, we missed the next one as well. Not that we minded, as we picked up a few we had on our wanting-to-find list.
Thank you for this Traditional cache BorisB&Natasha & Nut bear.

Thanks BorisB&Natasha and Nut bear for your cache. All is well at GZ.
I'm on a FTF mission for a couple of nearby mysteries . It's a fairly stormy day today. I hope that plays in my favour. Being able to pick up this traddy along the way is a big bonus. I've been wanting to check out the rifle range for a long time. Love the container. Thanks for your inspiring contribution to the game!

We had the cache in hand after a little bit of search. We had been to Fort Nepean three times. This was our first time visiting this area.
On a hike around Point nepea with Grandsons age 6 & 4. Found this cache then they wanted to eat. Only been hiking 14 minutes. TFTC
Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".
So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.
**Thanks to BorisB&Natasha for this adventure, looking forward to many more.**

Nice easy find on our weekend exploring Point Nepean. What a great area this is to explore. Tftc
Headed down the Mornington Peninsula, even though the weather looked a bit dodgy today. Said to my geo-PIC (partner-in-crime) Snips and Co that I'd like to get some caches I'd had my eye on and any nominated for the Cache of the Year awards.
This was the 3rd of the BTC series for us and 6th for the day. We managed to bag all we targeted (pun intended). A good day! A very interesting area here. I’m intrigued to learn more about its previous use. Thanks to the CO for bringing us here and placing the good-sized cache for our enjoyment.
TNLN Signed log as SALTECO, Snips and Co, LetThemEatCache, LTEC or something inbetween.

Thanks for the cache, a walk up the hill in the dark, on our way back to the car!
Walking back to the car from the Point it was great to be able to do a round trip of caches. This one followed on nicely from the Missing PM. We strolled up, checked out the area and once a again found a nice sized, appropriately themed cache. Thanks BorisB&Natasha & Nut bear
Found at 2.30pm. As a long range target shooter I can appreciate the purpose of this area. 400m is short range for me though. A quick find and a wander around and back to the car.

Nice day for a walk and some geocaching. New to the area so decided to try out some local caches. Co-ords are spot on. Good hint. Cache and logbook are dry and there is room for SWAG. SL TNLN TFTC TFTH. Logbook and cache replaced ready for the next cacher. Thanks BorisB&Natasha & Nut bear
Out for a walk today to explore this area and enjoy the April sun.
This was quickly spotted today.
Thanks to BorisB&Natasha & Nut bear for the fun and the adventure.

off on a family stroll from the gunner's cottage to fort nepean and back again
conclusion: this is just a beautiful part of the world
a gorgeous cocktail of rugged coastline and historical remnants
our cup of tea
but
geocaching on holiday is not everyone's cup of tea
especially when the sun is glaring from on high, the backpacks are snackless and it's almost time for lunch
so
this treasure was snuck in on a hasty detour
the others took the asphalt of the main road; i tackled the shifting sands at pace
slipping and sliding like a rally car, the logbook was signed amid huffs and puffs and sweat
and with a haggard burst of speed, i'd rejoined the convoy by the carpark
easy

Loving the decorations at each cache find in this series! Lovely quiet walk to get here.
Third find of today's lockdown adventure. Thrilled to see that a boris&natasha cache still lives. Enjoyed so many caching adventures hunting their work. Tftc
With Steve on annual leave this week, we packed up the bikes and headed to Point Nepean. It’s been a few years since our last visit and with perfect weather and very few muggles about, we had a fantastic day.
Interesting area which I don’t think we’ve ever come across on previous trips. A very appropriate cache container was uncovered at GZ.
Thank you BorisB&Natasha and Nut bear for all your great work in this series.

Some old abandoned buildings & quite a long rifle range in this area. Cache was appropriately themed & nicely hidden
It was pretty hot, but my buddy and I decided to wander over to this. Quite a few insects about today. We arrived at the rifle range with a couple of muggles hanging around, who went off down a different trail. We wandered down to GZ and the cache was spotted quickly. Certainly a lot of these containers in this national park, which is nice but also very fitting for this location! Signed the log and replaced, only to realise I had left my pen in the cache.
Heading back to the carpark, we had a peek inside the buildings and as we walked down the hill, a cruise ship appeared coming into the bay and we had the perfect vantage point. Looking it up, it was the Golden Princess. I joked it was probably bringing in the Coronavirus even though it had come from New Zealand. Thanks to the CO's for bringing me to this part of Point Nepean.

Only a few muggles passed by while I was searching here, leaving this spot basically all to me. It's oddly calming to be in a quiet part of this park, even with the signs warning me of bombs I could step on at any minute. And anyway, it's probably a good thing that no one came by while I was waving my hat like a mad man in an attempt to get rid of the flies. Initally, I scrambled into the bushes but found nothing there. Once I was back on the path, I quickly spotted the cache. Returned it to its hiding spot just as the next few muggles arrived. Thanks CO for bringing me to all these cool spots. Monash Light is the next one. TFTC
Found at 1:52 PM GAFF1.
Jumped on the bike to do the rest of the series and the nicely themed container and log book was found where we expected it to be.
Thanks BorisB&Natasha

TFTC Was spotted by a big family of muggles waiting awhile till they’d well gone before re hiding. It is safe!
Great series. Haven’t walked past the gun range before. Be careful of unexploded bombs!
We headed down to Portsea for a weekend of caching and cycling with Robmc and BettyBoo3747.
Today we headed from our accommodation out to Point Nepean dodging the shuttle bus and a lot of walkers.
On the way bacck home now, man some of these hills feel a bit bigger.
Thanks for contributing to the fun BorisB&Natasha

The Morris arrived and BettyBoo3747 and I all jumped upon our deadly treadlies and headed off for an afternoon ride around Point Nepean Park. Lots of people walking and bussing out to the point.
A slightly longer range that the first one!
But after that fun hill (NOT!), the bikes made short work of the range.
Thanks, Robmc.

#15992. Robmc and I are spending a couple of days down here at Portsea . The Morris have now arrived to join us and it is time to get on the bicycles and head to Point Nepean for a few more caches. What a wonderful afternoon it turned out to be. Having visited Point Lonsdale and Queenscliffe my whole life and only looked at this once forbidden land from afar, it is nice to be visiting it and enjoying the history and the scenery today.
A bit of a detour up another hill to visit a slightly longer distance rifle range than the 25 yard one we passed on the way in. Found cache and added our names and now back down the hill and off to the Quarantine Station we go.
Thanks BorisB&Natasha

Easy find, nice, sandy track. Haven’t seen a cache like this since I was in Jamieson with the big dog

I’ve enjoyed getting Shypossum to do all the hard work searching while I sit back and give instructions. Having now read the log before mine about the giant tiger snake, I’m even happier with my caching technique! Shypossum managed to find the cache easily and without harm.
After spotting a large tiger snake crossing the road at the point l was very wary now with the Sun beaming, mind you l did enjoy the shade at GZ.... TFTC
Current visiting my sister in Melbourne, perfect weather for a daytrip to Fort Nepean, hiking and some geocaches.

Bit warm walking up the hill today or maybe I just dont get out caching enough. Tftc!
Thank you to the person who has left noise maker swaps in the last couple of caches. We really appreciate it.... Or at least the kids do.
Found on the first day of my ‘week of day hikes challenge’. It’s great to have caches along the way! I appreciated the extra effort CO went to with the theme of this cache. A nice quick grab with no muggles about. Thanks for the cache!
Today we were out and about Point Nepean to grab some Bay Trail caches along with a few others on the way. For this, the bikes were needed which we haven't used since... last Bay Trail. It's a beautiful route with views left, right and centre, and with some stunning caches along the way, the day couldn't have been better! Thanks to all cache owners involved in making this area of the Peninsula amazing.

My son has some friends staying with us at Rosebud and they wanted to visit Point Nepean today. I was the driver and brought my niece "PrincessFiona" [8)] with us. We parked at Gunners Cottage and "Princess Fiona" and I spent an enjoyable few hours geocaching while the boys walked to the Point. We walked for 2 hours, finding all 5 caches that we looked for.
"PrincessFiona" is doing well with the GPS today and correctly guided us from Monash Light to here without taking us on the wrong path. We had a discussion about the Rifle Range and she was eager to find some old ammunition but we didn't want to wander from the paths. The cache was found and rehidden before we left.
