Time for this one to go. Reviewing the SH1 series and archiving those difficult to access given this busy stretch of road. Container removed.
In the area finding a couple of caches missed last time here. Very busy road. Nearly didn't stop, but had to. A very quick find and got out of there. TFTC
Overshot the parking area so went to the next one then returned. Road very busy but cache where I thought it would be. TFTC and making me get home late.

As i was picked up just after 4am to head to the Manawatu I realised this was not going to be a dot day. This was an attempt to get 270 caches in one day. There are a couple of great circuits in the Manawatu that will help work toward this goal so thanks to the CO's that have placed them for our enjoyment.
Thanks also to my partner in geo crime and driver for the day Yetrees. Without an able driver an attempt such as this would be impracticable so thanks for enabling it.
Thanks to all the CO's for their contribution to my smilie tally.
It is forecast to be a long day geocaching, hoping to make the 270 target. To be honest I'd be pretty happy with 200, however why not go for the Emerald badge (see project-gc.com)

After completing my Birthday caching in wellington the family and myself are ready for home.
So time for the drive back from wellington to wanganui, stopping at a few caches we have picked along the way.
Cache / Camo / log are in good shape.
Pulled in here and was greeted by the title description, No need for a long hunt, was a park and grab, and as light is fading was perfect for us.
Cheers

I'm staying on my own for 4 nights at Paraparaumu and grabbing caches here and there including a power trail today at some point near Palmerston.
Another quick drive-by, thanks for that Just-Lookin.

[green] On my way to Palmerston North for Christmas, and caching along the way. An awesome day to be out and about. Except for the traffic. It seems that everyone is on the road. Getting back onto the road, especially if crossing lanes, can involve a ten minute wait!
And that's the problem. I am not enjoying this little series. Don't get me wrong, the caches are fine. No micros, locations mostly okay, parking mostly okay. It's just that I am doing them today. Looks like half of New Zealand finished work on the 18th and everyone is heading out. And everyone else is heading in. Both directions flat out busy. Crazy.

A very quick, straightforward find with good parking, while the busy road kept being busy. TFTC
Heading north having been down to Wellington on business with a plan to pick up some caches as I went and this was one of thirty odd picked up on the way there and back. Parked the car as close as possible to GZ to provide some cover then out and quickly found the cache. Paperwork completed it was returned to its spot. Again, thanks for the placement Just-Lookin - TNLN.
A quick easy find, although we were wary of the road works sign truck parked across the road. TFTC
A good day to pick up a couple of caches while it's sunny and not tooooo busy. Tftc
[Red] thanks for Supporting the Geokids program, making geocaching more fun for kids across New Zealand so kids aren't sad when they find geocaches . Have dropped some swag into the cache.[/Red]

Enjoying some quick easy finds along SH1 as we make our way north to the KAS Trail. No problems here. Thanks.
I had to visit Waikanae for work today. It was such a cracker of an afternoon I decided to cruise up to Otaki and find some caches along the way. A part from over shooting the mark and having to quietly reverse back a bit. no worries here. TFTC
I was travelling from Wellington to Whanganui and had targetted a few drivebys to grab on route.
Nice quick find, TFTC

Third of the set for today. Desperately trying not to overtake a cyclist and then pull in ahead of him! TFTC
Number 2 of 7 that I wanted to grab today. I had been saving this series for dot days, but as I was closing in on my next milestone number, I thought it would be appropriate to log number 400 at an upcoming GC Birthday Event cache, so I made the trip out to grab some of this series! Apologies for the cut and paste logs on this cache. All caches were found in good order, with nothing out of the ordinary to mention. TFTC.
Quick and easy find of the way north to Palmerston for the day. Thanks for the cache. Did with Wandering Dragons, Violet Butterfly and Astro Hunter
Cache # 2,439 - Did with Crystal Fairy, MycroMan, Violet Butterfly and Astro Hunter. Super fast find. TNLNSL. TFTC!

Nice park and grab. Lots of spider webs = a bit scary. Even on the container. TFTC
Heading off for a six day sortie though the lower North Island with the primary reason being to pick up the CANZ caches we need to complete the North Island half of the challenge.
Heading north to Wanganui after a couple of days in Wellington. Spiders no problem for this team. lol.
Mrs S jumped out and got this one, signed and replaced and no-one any the wiser.
Thanks Just-Looking. The series is breaking up our journey alright. !!

The three neigh…bours nearby were too busy grazing to take notice, nicely hidden, TFTC.
Geodaughtertoo was a bit spooked by all the spiders that attached themselves to the cache. But all's well that ends well. TFTC
Another of these as i pass, I did look for Arow tree but failed on that one and need to look again on next trip past next week. Thanks for this cache.
Heading northward. Ah the old cache and barrier trick.
This one was spot on and we had our hands on it pretty smartly.
Wish...wish...wish...wosh... as the cars and trucks motor past.... all go round here!
Cache in order; log signed, safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

Easy find with Owhiro Ray - a very busy piece of road at the time we passed through so didn't get to stop and search for the others in this series - next trip!
headed out today trying to get to 1100 before the 5th having having planned a route last night, managed to do this on such a busy day more so on the state highway, I dont know how many times I was either trying to look like I was randomly talking on the phone while bent over looking for a cache, its very hard to be shady on that road, but mamaged it and I am sure I looked silly but hey its what caching can be about. came across some very well kept caches and some not so and only got 6 dnf on the 29 I was looking for, I added swag to all caches that had room and were in good nic, sorry about the copy and paste on the logs, as I was cahcing by myself I didnt take notes. thanks for the cache.
Came here on a day trip up the Kapiti Coast to knock off some of the new caches in the area. A quick find - signed log, TFTC!
A morning caching in Otaki and Te Horo area. Park and grab for an easy find by a busy road. Thanks for the cache.
7.25am. Overshot here and had to walk back a bit. Right at a time when a feww trucks sped past.
Thank you David.
Thank you David.
Pulled over at the obvious place for a quick find.
Picked up the travel slug TB - seemed appropriate for the pace the traffic was moving as we left Waikanae!
Left a pet rock - a cat. TFTC

I was over in Otaki today with Mrs skindo, she was shopping and I was caching . I tackled the caches from the southern end, which was a lot easier than the other ones in the series where I was heading south. There was a lot of traffic on the road today, but this made it easier to look inconspicuous. Most of the caches were a quick find.
Thanks for a great series of caches Just-Lookin

On my way south from Wanganui to Wellington I was happy to make some cool finds today
Thanks to the owners for hiding and maintaining the caches along the route [^] [^] - and cheers from Germany!

Very busy road but still managed to grab this one and sign log rather quickly and back off on our way again.
We had an enjoyable Sunday morning drive picking up some of Just-Lookin's new caches along SH1 and around Te Horo. We had no problems with any of them - they truly are 'park and grabs'. Thanks very much for all of these.
Found with twistiedog and mrudderhd. Left some Swag. Busy stretch of Road at times. TFTC
A nice easy park and grab today between passing muggles. The hardest thing was finding a hole to re-enter the traffic. SLTFTC
One of the benefits of being so young is thr fact that I don't have to drive! Constantly pulling in and out of the SH1 traffic didn't look entertaining in the slightest! A nice quick find, just as described. TFTC
After having started today's mission at 0530 in order to take out the Zealandia trail (successfully I might add) we made our way north and home. With the light starting to deteriorate we took care of this series. As the page states they are all at excellent, and safe, locations and well worth the time to park and grab.
T F T Cs Just-lookin.
FP here for the series and because this is a different hide at a familiar caching location.

A plan was hatched a while ago to make a road trip down to Wellington to do the Zealandia Power Trail. Original cast members were to be spud n z, hunter hillson, tommy gun 9 and capperz. Alas other things came up so today's trip was only attended by the resolute tommy gun 9 and capperz and a weather bomb was looming but no worry, the caching must go on. Leaving Palmy at 0 5 3 0 was the plan to avoid any heavy Welly traffic and the ploy was wise. It was quite difficult to ignore all those unfound caches between Palmy and Welly but needs must when a power trail and some decent terrain is involved. At the end of the day we'd stayed mostly dry and no mis haps to report, so a successful trip all round with good company.
Coming off the track after over five hours of caching it was time for a few pre selected caches to finish the day off.
I'd started these SH1 caches last time I was passing on the way home (with a curry) after coming back from overseas but a lack of light and plenty of tiredness curtailed my efforts after the first one at Peka Peka
this time with daylight and time on my hands we had time to find another eight, only one D N F

On my way to Te Horo today. Not the best weather for caching. Nice new trail to find between showers. Good placements.

A belated logging (Jan 15!!) of an afternoon's caching with little blue hen. Not sure why I missed logging these. Apologies for a few repetitive logs. Looking forward to the rest of the ones in the area. TFTCSL
Nice safe pull over just short of the barrier but the cars do whizz past. T4TCSL
On the way to Otaki today so this newly placed mini trail was not be ignored. Good hides and good sized containers, and much appreciated the obvious attention to good parking. Recommended to pull well over however, the traffic really zooms by!
Many thanks for the hide Just-Lookin

Found with Peter and Gwen. Managed to find a park well off the highway and walked to the cache. Picked up Bear TB. Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for the cache. I found it at 10:10 am on 17/09/14. Not so flash for stopping legally though!
