Logs
This one took a bit longer to find but after checking a few different spots we got there.
Yay! After scrolling the previous finders comments we managed to find it. Newbie cachers here - lil bit wet TFTC
Well it's not the film container GSEL mentioned nor was it cammoed but it had a log in it!
#11,854. After a week in Auckland I fly back to Wellington today. But my flight is not until the evening so I have a whole day ahead of me for geocaching on a fresh breezy spring day. After driving around in circles on these west Auckland roads I found myself at a place I had been to before. Well it looked familiar but there has been some major shrub cutting done here. It used to be possible to dive behind the shrubs and search in peace. Now it is all exposed to the road and the muggle house opposite. I searched once more in the places I looked last time with the same result. I then read through past logs and saw that newbies had found it only a few months ago. Finally I saw the log from geckoh indicating I had been looking too low. Well I checked all that top level for 10m either side of GZ and found nothing - including no rubbish. Typical. Looks like the shrub cutters did a litter clean out as well and the cache has gone AWOL. Noticing the CO has not been active for a while I have put in a replacement cache so this one doesn't get archived. Its downsized to a camoed film container. Signed the new logsheet. Thanks union sux for hiding the original cache here.

Thanks to Capperz log, stepped up and looked over, so was a nice quick find. TFTC

This took me a while as I expected it to be on the shelf, not on the top but reading previous logs and I soon peeped over and spotted the cache. Bit GROTTY here though
Took a little extra time to have my lunch on the go and head off and do some local caches while I'm working over this side of the area for the day. I headed into uncharted territory (not really, the charts on Geocaching.com showed some options). Managed a few new ones and some more hidden treasures of parks and green space that goes unnoticed by most except for the locals, and us Geocachers of course!

This cache took way longer than expected. After being questioned about being lost by a muggle and having to wait for them to leave, I then went on to look for the cache. I knew what type of spot it would be in, but after 15 minutes, as I was about to give up, I found it. Thanks for the cache placement, the cache is dusty though GZ is a bit cleaner
Sorry to say GZ looked like an open-air toilet finished with broken glass. So very happy to find the cache and get out of there.
I had previously stopped here with my niece and nephews but it was very muddy and we had trouble searching without slipping around. So I decided to leave it for another day. Today I happened to be nearby, so decided to have another look for this cache. After the lack of rain, the ground was bone dry but there was quite a bit of broken glass around, so I was glad I didn't have the kids with me. I had read a previous log which helped me narrow down my search area and the cache was soon in hand. Nice to finally turn this into a smiley.
That was a hard one. 2nd attempt to get it. CLUE it is next to the 40 sign on the ledge of the stone wall.TFTC
Going through some old lists and noticed this one was never logged. Better late than never. Thanks for the cache
Caching with Hemaludy today, had a few rain showers and a cold wind - obviously winter isn't quite done yet! At GZ, 4 adults disappeared into the bushes and then emerged victorious!
After a morning of housework and grocery shopping we headed out with the goal in mind to reach our 2500th cache by the end of the day (we needed 17 and we achieved it). Found with NZTravellers, darthcacher1 and purply.
Out and about for a spot of cache detection out west today. It ended up being pretty fine weather for it; the forecast showers didn't eventuate during my expedition today. Anyway, I parked up next to GZ and got to searching. I started where my GPSr was pointing and searched in a lateral direction until I spied the hide a few metres further along. Cheers for the cache placement!
I continued travelling around the far west picking up the odd cache here and there.
The gps pointed straight to the cache.
Cheers for the cache.

Found it! Thank you
What a perfect little spot for a geocache... a good easy one to find with the kids.
TFTC.

No luck here. Spent about 5 minutes searching likely spots pushing through wet vegetation. Then the rain started once again so flagged it for another day.
My second visit here. Went back and forth, under, over, through. Still couldn't find it
I had DNF'd this a while back. Saw it as I approached, so dont know how i missed it last time. Thanks.
Another one ticked off today that has been eluding me for quite awhile (: but as I was searching the tight space, this mugger came and sat near gz, how do I get out without looking suspicious???
Took a bit longer to locate than should have. Had to squeeze between wall and growth. TFTC
Didn't take too long to spot this cache. On a 3 day road trip from Hawkes Bay to Auckland and back. Grabbing as many caches as we can. Tftc

I wonder why this fairly easy cache hasn't been found for so long. Last found on the Independence Day of Latvia almost 5 months ago! Well, we couldn't let this just lay here like that!
Thanks for the cache!

This took me a few minutes longer than it should have, I think I was searching with my eyes closed initially as it really is should have been an easier find!
Sat in the car waiting for the local muggle to wander back into their house. Out to see where to go and the route was obvious - possibly thanks to makaia2000 slip sliding their way to GZ. TFTC.
Bit of a slip slide in this weather but was fun fun fun our first find woop woop!!!!
Was out this way to pop into one of my work locations today, so after I was done I decided to spend an hour or so doing a couple of local park & grabs. This was the second find. Quick find here, although unfortunately both the container and the log were quite wet- although I just managed to sign the log. I emptied the water out of the container, and placed the log in a snaplock bag to help preserve it.
A passing muggle in a car spotted me reappearing from behind a flax bush, and looked at me slightly strangely. Yup, just another crazy geocacher!

Fought against the trees and bushes lol. But geodad was pretty proud of himself for finding it before Gwen-o-nator and myself. lol.
A quick find thanks.
Up in Auckland for a birthday party, and spent my downtime caching. So many people, cars and humidity.
Thanks for the hide.

This took longer than I expected. Fortunately no disturbances from anyone while trawling through the undergrowth tftc
Searched a couple of likely spots but didn't take long to find. Last in the series for us. Thanks
Took a bit of searching, but eventually found.
When going back to car we were questioned by a neighbor,we told here what we were doing
and on to the next one.

A quick search soon found this one. Had an interesting chat with the lady across the road who wondered why people are always visiting that spot. We explained it to her so she didnt think it was something sinister and she was happy. All good support for geocaching.
No luck with this one today. Did get some strange looks when Ig and I appeared out of the foliage by some people out for a walk
Managed another quick find here somehow - again usually the odds are against me when the cache is in an obvious place, but today it was all exactly where I thought it should be. Got a weird look coming back onto the footpath as a car came along this quiet street just as I was emerging from the tree line, but it was nothing too out of the ordinary for Massey. TFTC
Vistra and I were out again today picking up some of the West Auckland caches that have popped up all over the place.
Spotted it as on approach to GZ, was a little covered in clay, but got it open and signed. TFTC

Joined up with Yorkshirekiwi83 this afternoon to knock off a few of our unfound West Auckland caches. Parked right by GZ and made a quick cache find here and dropped off a TB. TFTC!
