#1148. This one must have been uploaded onto the GPS back in Jan as I didn't have the update it was currently unavailable for maintenance. We were driving back to my mother and laws place and I spotted the large cache on the GPS and thought that would be nice to visit. Well the GZ is one of those horrible Auckland trash zones that leave you wondering about the human condition. The dead rotting possum at the GZ didn't look too appealing as well. Anyway my muggle father and law Tony is made of sturdier stuff than I and so he popped over the barricade to shuffle the trash and look for the cache. Blew me away when he pulled up the black barrel from the rough. Back to the car and found a nice freshly loaded logbook so first to sign this. Tony put the cache back then it was time to head to Green Bay and have some dinner. TFTC union sux. Time to let others know it ready to go again.
Spotted it from the side of the road amongst rubbish thrown from passing drivers.
Contents of the cache were strewn about, and the logbook was soaked.
I have taken it home, and notified Union Sux.

Awesome find ! Did it at night got stopped by police and he told me he knows what it's all about and go hard haha
Some thorny bushes to get across but got to it in the end!! Dropped off TB Janey Bear
Out for a hunt with Z_seekers, after the rain went away. This is a great cache to do with a four year old and a five year old, because you don't have to find it first then stand there saying "I think it might be somewhere around here" in a loud voice in order for them to get the excitement of spotting it.
Council needs to visit for a clean up. Swapped bracket & duck for mini barbie doll.
Parked at the furthest away end and walked to gz which took longer th tftcan finding it and signing the log!
I attempted to get to the cache from the side, but had to retreat and decided to check the location from above. Sure enough, there it was, and I even managed to get to it from above directly, but there was no way I would make it up the same way, so I had to fight my way back out through the vegetation. Pity people use this spot to dump rubbish!! Would be 'handy' to have long arms for this one! TFTC!!

I was passing by, when this cache flashed up on the GPSr. A large cache aye? Well a small detour is in order then. Parked up near GZ and tried to take the direct route towards GZ. I small, fallen, tree blocked my path just short of the prize. So, I climbed back over the rails, spotted the cache then climbed back down to it. Not sure how you would retrieve it from the path. Terrain rating therefore seems a little low. Nice to find a large container. Cheers for the cache placement!
Didn't have a pen to sign but found this giant one. Fist ever find for nephew Taylor!
Not sure if we approached GZ the right way, just glad no cars were passing as we made our way to and from the cache. Picked up TB. Thanks
Visited as I knew it would hold the big trackable I was holding, second visit but the TB that was listed is not there.
Bit hard to miss this one, nearly the size of a 40 gallon drum! Pity someone has also dumped rubbish nearby but we found what we came here for, Tftc
Big ups to Vector for the parking spot - quick walk to GZ, wee jump of the fence and the cache was in hand. Good sized container for good measure and a quick find. TFTC
Another late night find for us to keep our streak going in the run up to Christmas.
Managed to get within a metre of the cache from 2 different directions before making a third approach and actually reaching it. TFTC.

As luck would have it. Heaps of rubbish to discriminate from and eliminate the cache. Cutty grass and gorse. Finally found it and it was too easy. Our 500th cache.
nice to br out and about caching along here. used to live nearby many years ago. so was a real pleasure to come back. had a wee look and bingo nice big container at GZ.
Parked at at gate up the road being a narrow semi-rural road and walked down behing the wall. Crouched down at gz once having found as the road is quite busy and completed signing of the log.
Many thanks
Many thanks
we first drove down the road and a council person was just there looking over the barrier... we went off to look for the caches by the lake and return to pick it up... i dropped off a little doll that had been with me for far too long but was probably too big to attach a tag to it. that cache is not gonna make my list of favorite but i can understand why its there... tftc
Not the most salubrious of placements but pretty easy to find. Also, didn't need to put my glasses on to sign the log. TFTC.
Not sure why one would put a cache here...was it to highlight the illegal dumping of rubbish problem we have out here in the west? Certainly was a big cache. Log book is ideal for those that need to write large!!!
Quick easy find with Rustynz on the scene spotted from the top view and was soon in hand Tftc
We have loved this series, and its a big one! (although we have found bigger!) sadly people like to dump there rubbish, so GZ was interesting, and the gorse, have I written about how much I love the stuff! its on the top of the list with blackberry. At last a log book I could fit my name into. Thanks again for the hide.
Nice easy find. Certainly lots of rubbish and I would keep an eye on this as the council is likely to tidy it with the other rubbish. TFTC
Good spot for the cache, there is so much rubbish there alongside it, no one will give it a moments thought - except us crazy, crafty cachers.
Once found a safe place to pull off the road, it was an easy find. May pay to keep an eye on this one, some nice person has dumped rubbish beside it, don't want council clearing up the cache as well. Took both remaining travel bugs. Now completed the series probaly tonight Westie the wheelie bin will go live lol. Tftc.
A day doing only the BIGGEST caches saw us travelling here. Bit of a precarious park and thank god for the 4 x 4 SUV! Picked up the trackable to take to our part of town. TFTC
Out for a short drive this afternoon and stopped by this cache. While I was considering my surroundings I received a series of friendly toots from a passing motorist - I can only assume another geocacher?! Anyway, the cache was soon spotted, gorse negotiated, log book signed and 4 TB's dropped off! Nice to see a good sized cache, TFTC!
Got this no trouble today !!!!!
Was planning to take baby granddaughter up there in her buggy but glad I didn't.....!!! TFTC
