I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.
Hi davejey
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

Found again today been awhile since I when looking so I throught I'd look for one I already have.
Out for a bike along the beach when I saw this cache, quick find but I didn't have my pen! Photo of log for proof of find
A nice short wander along the beach to GZ, and then it was just a matter of waiting for a good enough gap between muggles passing by to climb up and make the find.
I see this is a replacement container, so hopefully this is the correct one to find.
Thanks for setting this up for us to find davejoy

A deserted beach but one lonely muggle and his dog standing right at GZ! So we continued our walk and tried again on the way home where this was a quick find. New cache container already getting rusty. TFTC our #299!
well like the previous cacher i did not find but instead , being very sure where it is suppose to be i did replace it with a blue mint tin and a temp. log inside. . I am sending photos to owner to check that this is in the right place.
thank you for this cache?
thank you for this cache?
When I looked for a cache along the beach lots had DNFs so I chose this one to increase my chances! Quick easy find following the hint. Retrieved a track ale too. TFTC
Nice easy find when you understand the hint.. Got there and realised I had left the pen in the car. Dropped a TB in here though for the next cacher.. Thanks for the cache..
Up the coast doing the family thing today which included a picnic at the water park play area near the Raumati shops.
Later on I managed to gain a leave pass to walk down and make this find.
On the way I got to have a look at where my grandmother lived, back in the seventies and early eighties. Her place has gained a deck and a garage but otherwise looks no different.
A quick find at GZ keeping one eye on the waves. The tide was fairly high and there was a good swell.

Oh dear, I am being rather slow at logging this cache - apologies.
Many thanks for the historical information and TFTC.

* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!
Many thanks for the historical information and TFTC.

Out for a walk before the showers started and the tide was too high.
Very windy and cool but quick find as expected.

Out for a stroll along my old haunt - introduced my sister to geocaching. Glad to see the seawalls are holding strong. TFTC
For some reason, I thought I had already found this cache. However, it seems I must have confused it for another as I certainly hadn't looked for a cache in this place before. I had read the hint earlier but managed to track down the cache without having to refer back to it for more help.
Booked a bach just down from this one. Quick walk down the beach a few metres to secure just before tucking into some lunch. Didnt have a writing tool so image for confirmation
Out for an evening stroll, bonus to be able to cache along the way! A straightforward find. Contents very soggy after the rain. Pic attached.
I found that one at a totally different spot under the stairs. The destroyed Cache? Put it back at the place described by the hint.
This was abit tricky but aftera couple of visits back to the spot we found it .
Nice cache with a great view of Kapiti Island. Perfect hike on the beach before we catch the ferry to Picton. TFTC!
Nice day to walk along the water front and grab a couple of caches. The water was kind today so the cache was easy to grab. Can report the cache is safe and sound, thanks CO for the cache.
Day Ten of a 12 day, 3000 km road trip around the North Island with the primary objectives being the Taupo Ultra Marathon on the 13th and my first ever caching Mega event in Wellington on the weekend of 20th & 21st. With thousands of possibilities for caches to look for on the way, I had to be very selective and decided to concentrate on special types, solved puzzles, ones that would fill missing spots in my statistics grids and those with good numbers of favourite points, plus maybe a few extras that were close by those.
Today was the second Mega event day and after attending the Kevin Anderson pilgrimage event and finding the oldest NZ cache, plus the remaining lab caches, we headed north to Kapiti to catch up with our daughter. Another nice day today and still no sign of any rain to interfere with caching activities. An amazing streak of weather.
I needed eighteen more caches further than 500 kms from home for the so far away challenge, so set out on a local mission to try and get them in the two hours before our dinner appointment. Next up was this one. Made my way down Bert's way to the beach where a few muggles were present, due to the nice weather, but luckily none near GZ. Cache was quickly found in hint location, log signed and returned safe and secure, ready for the next finder. TFTC

Nice spot away from the madding crowds )on a monday anyway).
Quick find, cache good, sun shining!
Thanks

Thanks
Thanks for the interesting history and for taking the time and effort setting this cache - it was nice to have a short walk on the beach
Found between showers and downpours of rain.
Despite the weather the logbook is lovely and dry however I don't know if the last few online loggers really found it - as TwigNZ was the last name in the actual logbook!
The last 4 online may need an email reminder to sign the log as proof of their visit?
Thanks for the cache!!

Thank you! The boys and I hunted high and low but had to use the hint in the end. Very easy to once we had that!
I woke up this morning to find that that the rain predicted for the day was nowhere to be seen. And so the day I thought was going to be spend lounging around doing nothing turned into a very nice day spent wandering around Queen Elizabeth Park and Raumati, collecting caches I had wanted to try for, and a few Puzzle Caches I had worked out a while ago.
So having just spent a pleasant few hours soaking up some sun whilst wandering all over QE Park, it was now time to try for a few caches around Raumati. Having never been caching here before, there was quite a few to choose from!
I had just solved a nearby Multi Cache which had taken me to the beach, so figured I would take a pleasant walk along said beach to see if i could find a few other caches that appeared to have been placed along it.
There were quite a few Muggles making use of the good weather to walk dogs etc so had to pick my moment to have a good search around and retrieve the container, but then I spotted what I was looking for and soon had it in hand. I was then able to sit on a nearby rock and pretend to be enjoying the view (no pretense needed really!) whilst signing the log. Then it was just a case of picked my moment to replace it all.
Thanks for the cache.

Found on a chilly winter cycle trip from the Paekakariki camp up to Waikanae and return. TFTC
Walked right past it at first, but once I identified the spot the hint essentially gave it all away! A warm, rainy day in Raumati today, TFTC!
Out and about on the Kapiti coast working out some multi caches today. Thanks for the challenge
I took my youngest son up to Wellington in the camper van. I dropped him off at his friend's house where he will stay. Meanwhile I get to geocache and be on standby.
After staying at Greytown and spending another day in the Wairarapa, it was time to head to The Hutt area.
Son number two got dropped off at the airport. Hubby got picked up.
I needed to get the Camper's clutch checked out at Miro Auto Repairs. Once we got the all clear it was time to continue our adventure. We stayed in Paraparaumu last night.
Hubby stayed at the campground and chilled out, while I went biking and geocaching. Win, win.
Coming to the end of my bike ride. Beautiful spot.

Thanks. davejey for putting in the effort to hide this geocache. This was find for me.
Another one on the coast. As the GPS closed in I spotted an area that the cache would likely be hiding, and this proved successful. In my old school days I attended Aotea College, but the suburb wasn't even on the plans then.
The bottom of the cache container is cracked, but it hasn't affected the logbook as it was still dry. TFTC

Thanks davejey for the cache. This is our find number 743 and we found it at 4:12 PM on 11 December 2017. Quick find while walking the dog along the beach. As we didn’t set out to do any geocaching, I don’t have a pen with me hence log not signed. Hope attached photo will suffice as proof of the find.
One part of our family is in NZ for Work&Travel and could now find the first NZ cache - YES
