Found with Rohkad. One of the cache clips is broken but it doesn't need repair just yet. Tftc
The map wasnt working but made a quick find regardless behind the suspicious geo camo! TFTC!!
Got to the root of the problem here. Signed log, and replanted. Thanks for another one.
Checked the roads on Camp Hill yesterday. This section is now ok to access. Cache is still in place and all is good to re-enable again.
Important Notice:While the major fire front has been suppressed, there is still fire activity in the area in the form of smouldering stumps and trees. Local agencies are still attending to hot spots, falling trees and road damage, and may be doing so for the next few weeks. Many roads are still closed or are open for local resident access only.PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIND ANY CACHE THAT HAS BEEN DISABLED DUE TO THE BUSHFIRES, regardless of whether you think it is safe or not. Any 'Found It' logs while this cache is disabled for this reason will be subsequently deleted. We will check out each location and arrange re-enabling of caches as access and safety allows.Thank you for your understanding.Jo and Glen (chooknchunk)
This cache is an an area subject to fire fighting operations (22-23 Feb) and may have been impacted by the fire. It has been disabled until it is safe for the CO is able to check the current condition of the cache.
I was heading to Beaufort for the Goodbye 2023 celebration event and arrived with enough time to hit this trail first. After DNFing CH2, this was an easy find. Many thanks to chooknchunk for the cache.
A quick find. We saw the crosses by the roadside - a sad spot. Thanks to chooknchunk for the cache.
I found it with millerel80 it was probably 5 minutes we spent on finding it
Decided on a run out this way again and to have a go at this series. A great drive through the forest on what was a great day. Managed to find all in the series, plus a few others and all were in good condition.
No problems here and the cache was soon in hand.
Thanks again chooknchunk....look forward to exploring a bit more.

Yay! I love large caches. Found last Sunday with Wespro. So many wildflowers. Each cache had a photo session afterwards.
*The SueHut Birthday Long Weekend Adventure #52*
It's day 4 of our long weekend, and we're meandering our way back home.
A hazard of not reading cache notes properly is that you miss vital stuff... like, the cache is *not* here because there's a convenient turn-out that is probably used by cyclists to let cars past on the road.
Thanks heaps, chooknchunk!

Nice hide! Had a little trouble finding it but not too much trouble. Thanks.
WE found this cache after parking and paying respects at the memorial to the boy who lost is life . A short walk from the road, easily accessible we spotted the cache in what I learned was a classic chooknchunk hide with larger logs covering the spot.
Something I was able to remember from the GEO event held earlier today.
Interesting area - Hard to imagine it packed with gold diggers nearly 75 years ago.
Hard times. Some nice views of the valley below from Camp Hill Road and the lookout area in Muntz Lane. Thx CnC. From JJHHXX. Find 102

I decided to do a road trip along the Great Ocean Road this week. It’s been a long time since I travelled along this area and it was certainly before I was into caching! As the week nears an end it was time to head back, taking the long way home via a day in Beaufort and some events in Ballarat tomorrow.
Sad to hear that someone lost their life in such a beautiful area.
Thanks chooknchunk for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

Found this cache whilst finding my way back from being lost in camp hill!! Tftc and thanks for helping me find my way back!
After a good weekend in Avoca and the surroundings enjoying the company of other Geocachers and, of course, finding quite a few caches, we headed home to the Bellarine Peninsula. It was a lovely crisp clear morning for the second morning in a row, and it boded well for caching. Mrs Dromaniax had spoken to Mr chooknchunk on the weekend and had discussed this series, so we decided to complete this series on the way home. The series is in lovely bushland North of Beaufort. There was a profusion of Pink and White Heath, Drosera, Correas and that beautiful but very prickly wattle in the area. This cache was in excellent condition. Thank you for this cache and series chooknchunk.
We decided to go for a Sunday drive with the geopups to this lovely area. Having not cached for sometime it was good to get out.
Although not overly warm, LeeLee is watching her steps in the bush today. Thanks chooknchunk
All caches were found in good condition and with spot on coordinates.
Left swap

What a delight to be out in the bush on a lovely sunny day and find a real Regular size cache! It's in good condition with lots of swag. SL L a car wash token. TN
Found it, sorry to see this location has a sad story from not so long ago, tftc.
A touching little memorial in the bush. Long gone but obviously not forgotten. Opposite the site we spotted a pretty orchid, as if it was there for comfort.
Oh we have had a fun day out caching today. We had the smallest of The Friendly Fords with us and newcomers The Pandas learning the ropes. Cold, misty, rainy, muddy. What more could 5 kids 5-13yrs ask for?Nice quick find, Thanks ChooknChunk for another great day!! And for the cache.
Re-enabling now the Victorian Covid19 restrictions say we can "participate in some recreational activities, adhering to the rules". Please use common sense, maintain social distancing, attend to hand hygiene and stay safe.
Temporarily disabling this cache due to the Corona Virus.
Geocaching is not "essential travel".
It puts others at risk when you travel unnecessarily, no matter how isolated a cache may be.
Please stay at home.

you wouldn't mind a rest
I wasn't riiding me bike today
And had driven along this trail the 'wrong' way to reach this spot

Time to head home and find more caches along the way. Trigger_Fish has a plan in his head, I'm along for the comic relief.
Thanks for the enjoyable series chooknchunk.

It sounded like cars were coming this way, but it was just the sound of traffic down lower. This cache had plenty of swaps in it for the kids - a pity they didn't make it on this run. TFTC

I was just looking at fbook and saw n0w0rries post the word 1D10T or something like that. Then looked at this GC code. Thpooky.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache, chooknchunk

My first day of a three day road trip through Western Victoria to grab a few caches. After a long drive out to Carlisle River to tick off a target for the challenge to find a cache in each page of the Victorian Country Road Atlas I headed towards Ballarat to try some challenge caches followed by the Xmas Down Under puzzle series. After that it was on towards Beaufort and I had time enough to try this series before coincidentally meeting the CO team for dinner at the local pub. After a big struggle at the last cache in the series I was glad to spot this on pretty quickly. Took nothing. left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache and the series chooknchunk.
This morning I made my way from Ararat to Beaufort collecting the odd cache here and there.
After completing the COs wherigo series 2 months ago I wanted to have a go at this series today, it was a nice drive along the road picking up the caches along the way, some were clever and made it that bit more interesting. All the caches are in good condition.

Made the drive up for this easy to access and locate cache. A bit of care of the roads but made it well enough.
Trip log... GreyHams log says it best, in all its glorious detail... so it really is, 'What he said!'
With GreyHams we set out for another chapter of our caching challenge... To find all the counties in NSW. We flew into Adelaide early Friday morning with a return plane from Melbourne Monday night. Taking advantage of some super cheap car hire driving one way from Adelaide to Melbourne. Of course, as a four day road trip it leads into collecting as many counties as was possible as we pass through SA and Victoria as well, with a few side trips for those that were close enough.
The counties a high priority but many caches of interest, the oldies are always great, about 16 2001 caches found plus many others just as old. Web Cams, virtuals, great DT which would see us complete our fifth loop of the DT grid, large caches and lots of regular sizes too. The trip list also included a cache type of each we were missing for each state as well.
Simply, if we stopped for a cache that had made it onto the list, it was not just any random cache, it was selected for a quality of some type we were seeking.
One of the harder things about caching after flying somewhere is that all the TOTT are left behind...usually! So it just had to be done and we took an esky with us on the plane for all those fabulous cold drinks along the way.
The thing I love the most is that we also took a ladder with us on the plane too!
We had targeted the 'on your bike' wherigo series, so many puzzles, so many hours of them so the ladder was important if we wanted to find all the high DT, up the tree caches... which we did! Later in Ballarat we went 'above and beyond' with the ladder once again. A truly essential item to have, we may now need to invest in that inflatable Kayak for future adventures too!
Perhaps it must be said that our route was the least direct way we could have traveled via the Hay Plains and Griffith, but covered a lot of road, counties and locations leading to yet another great trip. Although a number of park and grabs, made closer by our reliable and tough SUV, we also managed a lot of walks, hills, bush, and just a great variety as we explored the different areas.
We crossed the Murray river many times, a lovely healthy looking river system. After our recent trip from Adelaide to Sydney, via Broken Hill and Bourke the dry rivers out there are a very sad sight compared with the Murray.
With so much achieved that we had set out for it was a very successful trip but also an enjoyable one with many memories made and a new batch of stories too! Thanks to all the CO's for there caches that lead us in our travels.

Aquilus1 and myself are on a mission.... to collect all of the counties in NSW! but how to get to those 'hard to reach' ones from where we are in Canberra? It would be an awfully long round trip. The answer was supplied in the super cheap car rental deals available if you drive one-way from Adelaide to either Sydney or Melbourne... I guess too many cars do it the other way and the cars need to get back somehow. Flying to ADL on points meant fuel was by far the biggest transport cost we paid for.
This trip is actually trip number two.... to drive from ADL to MEL, via Hay & Griffith! Yeah, thats logical! It was fun explaining where we were going to people, we got a lot of strange looks. The first trip was ADL to SYD, via Bourke. The bonus of course is we have also cleaned up a lot of SA & VIC counties as well.
OK, so primary goal is counties but we of course had 5 or 6 goals. Oldies was definitely a priority, I think we picked up 16 hides from 2001 on the trip along with lots of 2002-2006's. D/T of course is never overlooked and we did well there, I think we will almost complete our fifth loop from this trip. Webcams, Virtuals and Wherigo's were all targetted and finally getting all cache types in each state.
Day 1 was us arriving in ADL at sparrows, with a ladder and esky that we checked in and driving as far as Barmera. We cleaned up the 'On Your Bike' series where the ladder really fulfilled its purpose (I never want to see another online jigsaw again!) and even stopped to grab the LBH on the way out.... after 9:30pm, and after I attacked the dirt road with my body and left a lot of skin on it. Note to self: dont lunge at dirt roads! Luckily the hotel in town was open and we obtained fine lodgings. The floor creaked when I looked at it, or breathed, or changed my mind, but the bed was the finest.
Day 2 was driving to Hay, apparently on their biggest day of the year! No motel had rooms but luckily the new hotel that was supposed to open next week was forced into opening on the very day we arrived.... I like fresh sheets but how about a bed that has never been slept in! The crossed the Murray about 5 times and it was always impressive. We saw the country side change hugely from Rivers, Mallee and the Hay plain.
Day 3 was going from Hay, around Griffith and actually turning south towards Melbourne.... it felt like a long way! We cleaned up a bunch of the counties, in fact all of them, west of and including Naranderra. My map on Project-GC is going to look so green! We got as far as the outskirts of Bendigo, stopping at the first Motel we saw.... it was better than it looked!
Day 4 was getting to the airport, which we did with heaps of time to spare. Checkin closed a huge 18 minutes after our arrival. Damn, we could have grabbed another cache in that time. Ladder back in its box and checked in. I love the fact we took our own ladder!
Now safely back at home I am already suffering from caffeine withdrawal, but thats the price you pay for living on Coke for 4 days.
Sorry for the long generic log, but it was a fun trip and I wanted to share.
