We reviewed the Camp Hill area today. While the road has now re-opened, the fires of February this year have burnt a large proportion of the area.We had already re-enabled the unburnt Camp Hill caches 1 to 4. But from CH5 on, many of the caches had been burnt, with nowhere suitable now to hide replacements in the fire-ravaged landscape. So we have made the decision to archive caches 5 through to 12. They have been here for nearly 10 years and have been enjoyed by many. Caches 1 to 4 will remain though.
Sections of Camp Hill Road are still closed to traffic, therefore these caches remain disabled until road closures are lifted.
This section of Camp Hill Road has suffered fire damage from the February 22 bushfires. Caches along here have either been burnt and/or are still within local road closures. Assessment and clearing of fire-damaged trees is still in progress. Will review in a month.
Important Notice:While the major fire front has been suppressed, there is still fire activity in the area in the form of smouldering stumps and trees. Local agencies are still attending to hot spots, falling trees and road damage, and may be doing so for the next few weeks. Many roads are still closed or are open for local resident access only.PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIND ANY CACHE THAT HAS BEEN DISABLED DUE TO THE BUSHFIRES, regardless of whether you think it is safe or not. Any 'Found It' logs while this cache is disabled for this reason will be subsequently deleted. We will check out each location and arrange re-enabling of caches as access and safety allows.Thank you for your understanding.Jo and Glen (chooknchunk)
This cache is an an area subject to fire fighting operations (22-23 Feb) and may have been impacted by the fire. It has been disabled until it is safe for the CO is able to check the current condition of the cache.
I was heading to Beaufort for the Goodbye 2023 celebration event and arrived with enough time to hit this trail first. No problems locating this one.My thanks to chooknchunk for the cache.
There hasnt been much traffic along this road but Im still a little careful where I park. This was a quick stop with no problems finding the cache. Thanks to chooknchunk for the cache.
I very almost DNF’d this, however, after reading through some logs I decided to give it another go and then there it was. TFTC
Came back to finish these ones, found with joybell53. But I wouldn't call this a stump
Decided on a run out this way again and to have a go at this series. A great drive through the forest on what was a great day. Managed to find all in the series, plus a few others and all were in good condition.
Neat little hide that I'm not surprised a couple of searchers have missed it. Once spotted, all good.
Thanks again chooknchunk....look forward to exploring a bit more.

Cache checked today following recent DNF. All good at GZ, cache is still in place where it should be.
Found last Sunday with Wespro. Oops! Wes was so busy looking at his phone he nearly stepped on a Shingleback. Lucky this scaly guy had legs. Easy find. Topped up trades for you
*The SueHut Birthday Long Weekend Adventure #53*
It's day 4 of our long weekend, and we're meandering our way back home.
OMG! The fifth cache guardian of note on this weekend. It was scaly, but thankfully had legs.
I don't think he had oysters, 'though.
Thanks heaps, chooknchunk!

Finally found one along the track! I think we are the worlds worst finders LOL! Wandering Walker’s x
I decided to do a road trip along the Great Ocean Road this week. It’s been a long time since I travelled along this area and it was certainly before I was into caching! As the week nears an end it was time to head back, taking the long way home via a day in Beaufort and some events in Ballarat tomorrow.
Half a dozen Oysters Kilpatrick thanks… oh wait you’re not taking orders? Cache is all safe and sound, likely protected by some cache guardians based on the security nets around it.
Thanks chooknchunk for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

Found it unintentionally sat down to have lunch and there was a geocache next to us
After a good weekend in Avoca and the surroundings enjoying the company of other Geocachers and, of course, finding quite a few caches, we headed home to the Bellarine Peninsula. It was a lovely crisp clear morning for the second morning in a row, and it boded well for caching. Mrs Dromaniax had spoken to Mr chooknchunk on the weekend and had discussed this series, so we decided to complete this series on the way home. The series is in lovely bushland North of Beaufort. There was a profusion of Pink and White Heath, Drosera, Correas and that beautiful but very prickly wattle in the area. This cache was in excellent condition. Thank you for this cache and series chooknchunk.
TFTC. Lunch!! Way too busy finding caches to have lunch. Wouldn't be a wise idea to have oysters with Shumba7 around anyway.
TFTC, oysters for lunch... mmm we forgot to have lunch today... time flies when you having fun. Thanks for bringing us here today.
We decided to go for a Sunday drive with the geopups to this lovely area. Having not cached for sometime it was good to get out.
LeeLee loves watching 'I'm a celebrity get me out of here!' Well, this one felt like the eviction trial. LL had her scaredy pants on but after some close examination and with some bush tools, she got the job done
Thanks chooknchunk
Cache found in good condition and with spot on coordinates.
Left swap

Found. Couldn't go any further on the trail as a huge tree across the track, will have to finish this another day TFTC
This oyster was hiding in its shell. We coaxed it out but forewent the lunch oysters.
Oh we have had a fun day out caching today. We had the smallest of The Friendly Fords with us and newcomers The Pandas learning the ropes. Cold, misty, rainy, muddy. What more could 5 kids 5-13yrs ask for? Oysters for lunch? and Crabs for Tea?.... that certainly raised a few eyebrows on first glance.... lol Thanks ChooknChunk for another great day!! And for the cache.
Re-enabling now the Victorian Covid19 restrictions say we can "participate in some recreational activities, adhering to the rules". Please use common sense, maintain social distancing, attend to hand hygiene and stay safe.
Temporarily disabling this cache due to the Corona Virus.
Geocaching is not "essential travel".
It puts others at risk when you travel unnecessarily, no matter how isolated a cache may be.
Please stay at home.

The sound of this pearl of a cache being found
TFTC.
And if anybody asks ...
... and they are not ...
... but I'll tell you anyway ...
... oysters are 'snot on a rock' [XX(]
And definitely don't belong inside a wrap of beef 'n' bacon !!

Time to head home and find more caches along the way. Trigger_Fish has a plan in his head, I'm along for the comic relief.
Thanks for the enjoyable series chooknchunk.

Oysters weren't on the menu for us - but a cache certainly was. Glad there were no residents near the cache spot. TFTC

My first day of a three day road trip through Western Victoria to grab a few caches. After a long drive out to Carlisle River to tick off a target for the challenge to find a cache in each page of the Victorian Country Road Atlas I headed towards Ballarat to try some challenge caches followed by the Xmas Down Under puzzle series. After that it was on towards Beaufort and I had time enough to try this series before coincidentally meeting the CO team for dinner at the local pub. I was intrigued by the cache name here but unfortunately no oyster farm and just a Dad joke! Took nothing. left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache and the series chooknchunk.
This morning I made my way from Ararat to Beaufort collecting the odd cache here and there.
After completing the COs wherigo series 2 months ago I wanted to have a go at this series today, it was a nice drive along the road picking up the caches along the way, some were clever and made it that bit more interesting. All the caches are in good condition.
