As is the way during a mega we searched with several others and the cache was soon found in the obvious spot.

Coords had me wandering down slope unnecessarily but hint got me back on track tftc
It was Day 3 of my trip to the area and the formal part of the trip (the L.E.G. series) had been completed so I thought that I would spend the day freestyling...just wandering around grabbing random caches.
A quick find. TFTC.
A quick find. TFTC.
After searching bushes for half an hour, my daughter found it just as we were about to give up. And it's true.. there were maps right there. Nice hide. Tftc.
As my wife had gone away for a few days, I figured it was a good time to do some caching and bonding with Crusty K9. This is one of the caches we found. tftc.
Not sure if it's because my senses are abit rusty but we couldn't find it shall return!
Cool hide thanks for the hide out with the geo wife finishing of some local cache that have been on my radar for some time thanks for the cleaver hide nice day here today love lake eildon
A quick and easy drive by as we cache our way around the area today with mcsee&petal. We did have to contend with a horde of ants that have taken up residence in the hide, the little buggers were everywhere. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
Now if ever a cache needed ant protection, then this is the one, with hundreds of ants calling GZ home.
It was a quick easy drive by, but the removal of the ants from the cache took a few minutes. Log filed and returned minus the attachments.
Thanks Clever Monkey for this cache and placement.

Suscoe's last day in the Eildon area for this trip.
Up early and off we went into some fog.
A fairly cool start, but the sun soon broke through and it turned into a delightful late winter, early spring day.
We headed steadily westward back towards the Hume Highway and found lots on interesting caches along the way.
1st find of the day.
Thanks to Clever Monkey for this hide, great to see how they look after the fisherfolk up this way.

Found while waiting for my school group to arrive for a day of rafting on the river.
After a lazy afternoon at the hotel headed out to find a few caches.

No chance of a quiet fish in this area today - holiday muggles everywhere. Plenty of water, but probably much too swift for fishing anyway. But we did find a cache and SL at 11.45am #3508 TFTC clever monkey - now to grab some lunch and get on our way homewards.
We came to Eildon for an extended weekend of training on the water and to follow the GeoTour. We only had the time to attempt a few other caches. This was our first caching stop after setting up camp on Friday night. Good to see the effort that goes into the mapping of all the fishing spots!
Thanks for showing us a bit of the area and for the smilie.

TFTC. Nice park and grab on our way back to Yea after a morning collecting some Geotour caches. Lovely spot for a bit of fishing but the rods were back in camp.
Out for a days drive looking at river access sites,
This location is to be our start point for a multi day paddle trip.
We had already checked out Blue Gums rapids, this is looking like a fun section to paddle.
Another neat hide next to a pretty section of river.
Thanks

I tried one... Then thought "nah"... A few minutes later in desperation I tried the other.
Absolutely genius! Been a while since I've seen one like this took a while but we found it ! Think out of the box geocachers xx
Jus logged saying I couldn't find it then just before I left a fell across it, extremely clever hiding spot 10/10
Found with ease, know where to look these days. .....found with Crowfam44.....TFTC
Found this evening just as it was getting dark. GZ took us to a feature, then we employed our geosenses and knowledge to find where it may be hidden. Really clever construction. TFTC.
Clever one !!
Thanks. Boys have warmed up now after water caching so they are pumped again.

On my way to complete the Lake Eildon Geotour and could not pass the cache without grabbing it. I like caches that have had a bit of time and effort spent on them. The more you do the more you get to recognise possible hiding spots. Thanks Clever Monkey.
Hi there Clever Monkey. We found your cache "Lets go fishing. #3" at 9:21:00 AM today. This cache makes our find count 10429.

This is our first day on the Geo-tour. Please forgive our boilerplate logs, hopefully they won't detract from the great caches we found today.
Our day started before the birds, watching the sun rise through the early morning mist while the bacon and eggs were cooking. We started with jumpers on as it was only eight degrees, but pretty soon we were down to our usual shorts and tee shirts as the day warmed up.
Of course we also had to collect all the other caches that were on our route as well. Thanks for making the day so interesting.
We cut our trek short today, because we were looking forward to a BBQ tea back at camp. Tomorrow we will be able to start afresh from where we left off.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Pam and I have taken a couple of days to travel around central Victoria, and to undertake the Lake Eildon Geotour. Day 1 was yesterday.
Day 2 commenced at Bonnie Doon and finished up with the Geotour completed, and a couple of stray caches added to our finds on the way back to our digs in Thornton.
This cache was the 11th of 11 for the day.
We found this one on the way back to Thornton where we are staying tonight. This was the best micro I've found for a while.
Thanks for placing this cache Clever Monkey

With the publication of the February L.E.G. Event it was a wakeup call to us to come back to this diverse part of Victoria. Our mission today was to complete the Geo Tour and be able to submit all our data prior to the cut-off date. Mission accomplished, we able to catch this cache before heading back to Yarrawonga.
Our thanks to Clever Monkey for the hunt.

Day three of our Lake Eildon Geotour and we started from Mansfield this morning having stayed in a cabin at the caravan park last night. Got up pretty early, poor Alansee was eating his cereal well before he would have been if he had been home . It was already threatening to be a hot day so the early start was doubly good. We enjoyed doing the caches on the rail trail around Mansfield and then the drive up to the Paps had white knuckles for me as on clung on having been designated to the back seat of the Landcruiser. The view from the top was fabulous. What a morning, we had not even attempted one of the geotour caches but had participated in both the Boob Tree and Papal Menagerie and soared to heights only birds get to enjoy. We went at it all day, loving the scenery and the hides and as we got closer to the elusive number 20 and though we were hot and sweaty our enthusiasm was not waning. So as the sun was setting we were finally able to say "yes we've done it". A master achievement by the organizers and for all the other caches nearby that added cream to the whole experience. Thanks to Clever Monkey for placing this cache and allowing us the privilege of visiting your beautiful area.
Found with Liz & Bruce - our last one for the day. We were all pretty zonked by this stage after quite a long but rewarding day caching.
I'm not into fishing, in fact I'm probably one of the worlds worst fisher, but that doesn't stop me from hunting and fishing for geocaches TFTC Clever Monkey
A great days caching with many differing experiences, some where I walked right to the cache and others where I needed to hunt around a bit. As usual I have enjoyed the various challenges set by the CO's and the fact that I get to cache with friends and am outside in the great outdoors.
Many thanks Clever Monkey for placing this cache .

Aaarrrrgggghh ANTS!! Had an ants nest in there - they found it first!! TFTC!!
Brought to this part of the world by the launch of the Lake Eildon GeoTour, which we attended yesterday. Now on to continue exploring this wonderful area. Great fishing spot but we have too much geocaching to do. (Never thought we'd be saying that!). TFTC
We wandered over for the launch of Australia's First Geo Tour and managed to convince the wage payers to give us a long weekend.
This morning we travelled around with Robmc and Betty Boo and collected a few around Eildon before the event but no time for fishing this weekend.

#1218 A vehicle was parked at gz, fortunately it was not occupied and the owners were out of sight. If we were to take a guess, we would say they have gone fishing . Another thing, we are getting good at finding these lets go fishing caches . Thanks Clever Monkey.
Awesome hide! After extracting the cache it seemed like the ants had made a new nest inside the cache and I wasn't keen on opening it so unfortunately we didn't get to sign the log thanks for the cache!

Finally got this one! On a beautiful day too. Like the others in this series, the cache is really well designed and built. Thanks for the cache, Clever Monkey!

out with bobrant doing some sight seeing and cache maintenance, after a short search we located this nice hide. tftc
The start of a couple of days around Eildon with BettyBoo3747. We started caching near Bonnie Doon, and finished after dinner at Eildon. A lovely day for wandering around grabbing a few caches.
Some muggle was hard at work lower down at the river, but we didn't need to go that far.
Strange how we approach signs from behind first now!
Nice hide.
Thanks, Robmc.

# 6803. As I haven't visited this area in a good many years I thought it might be nice to have a couple of nights at Eildon and gather several caches around the area. Robmc and I started our caching run at Bonnie Doon and finished at Eildon with a few after dinner finds.
After checking in to the caravan park we went out again for a few more before dinner. This was the closest and the first of them. I do like a nice straightforward hide, but one that is muggle-proof. The river was flowing fairly rapidly today.
Thanks Clever Monkey

Out for a drive to Eildon with Mitchaaa and Beanslayr. It's great to have some more Eildon caches out. Completed this one with Mitchaaa and only just beat him to it. A nice hide. TFTC.
Out for breakfast with Geowife. Thought we'd test Clever Monkey's cleverness again. Had the standard Clever Monkey toolbox onboard, though having done his other caches we have now added axe, pick and blowtorch to the juicy fruit toolbox. We didn't have the Clever Monkey defeating Bluewren88 onboard, so had to rely on our own abilities. Hmmm. Turns out Clever Monkey is also a Clever Barracuda with this smart hide. Always happy to leave the ground penetrating radar in the car, as we could on this cache. Who would have guessed that chewed up juicy fruit would make a good bait for the trout. TFTC.
P.S. No worms were hurt in the finding of this cache.
