Beautiful countryside! Decided to take the slow way back home today and pick up a few geocaches along the way. A quick find for our geokid
Lucky lucky lucky!!!! This one had a bit of water flowing through its hidey hole, enough to remove its camo but not quite enough to float it away. I moved it deeper into its hole out of future minor floods, I hope, and recamoed it. Cache contents were fine, TFTC.
Sunshine and an opportunity to go caching, what a great combination. After parking the caravan at the Bega showground (where we will be for a few days) we were out finding caches. Got this one. Scenery beautiful. Our thanks to dghoffy for placing this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Today was a continuation of the SST circuit, as well as putting some other caches on the list to be found with ilook4geo. We had a good caching day and found some interesting and fun hides. Most logs and containers were in good condition and each log was signed before being returned to its proper place. Thank you to dghoffy and elysium_au for placing and maintaining this cache, which we enjoyed finding.
Out today doing some caching with goingplaces2, as well as exploring new places on the Sapphire coast. We had a fun day and are happy to log all the caches we found, including this one. TFTC.
I'm an Aussie living in Japan. Today I"m back visiting and staying with family in the area, My Granny used to live in Kalaru and I always enjoyed bushwalking around the area. Today I went bushwalking in the area for the first time in about 30 years so it was very enjoyable to do it. This time with the extra joys of geocaching. I went for a 3 hour walk and this was my 7th cache of the day. Even though I only cache with paper maps and no phone or GPS, I got lucky and looked in the right spot straight away. TFTC
Gotcha
Spending a glorious weekend down the Sapphire Coast as part of the Canberra Invasion. Whilst the invasion meant the chance to catch up with many cachers at events and at different spots (and a delightful excuse to celebrate Lovetherabbitohs 18th birthday), I spent most of the weekend on the hunt with the CGI crew: Fitzy_1965, DarzeeDi, Minniek , K8TYBEE , GLISS!, GSC2000 Lovetherabbitohs, B0tmun, death_killer & my_name_jeff_1. Thanks so much for keeping all the caches alive and making this weekend a possibility! Tftc

Out and about with nibletricecakes and the Goulburn/Canberra crew. Scouting the coastline for treasures... my first big caching weekend! TFTC (and trail)
Headed to Wallaga Lake for a bit of an invasion by people from Canberra & Goulburn. A group of us convoyed for most of the long weekend. The group known as CGI (Canberra Goulburn Invasion) consisted of fitzy_1965, darzee di, nibletricecakes, k8tybee, GLISS!, GSC2000 and my geokids Lovetherabbitohs, b0tmun, death_killer & my_name_jeff_1.
Day 3 now all packed up and ready to head home but not before finishing the SST series and any others along the way. All caches were quickly found. We certainly loved the variety.

Sorry for the generic log, some with an added comment - this weekend a few of us from Canberra and Goulburn decided to travel down to Bermagui and do the SST series and some of the other traditionals, camping at Wallaga Lake Big4.
Today was day 3, final day of our adventure and what a great adventure it was, loved the company, lots of laughs and stories making it a successful fun long weekend. I just loved the different caches and ability to park safely and enjoy the experience, some a little harder to find than others but found in the end . We signed logs as team CGI (canberra Goulburn invasion) and we all enjoyed ourselves, we all had a great day and all said how much a fantastic series it was. Tftc dghoffy and elysium_au

Sorry hoffys, but this is going to be a generic log, as I have trouble keeping up with the youngsters I cache with, let alone making notes for individual caches. It will however save you reading every log!
Weeks ago it was decided to resurrect the idea of Canberra Invasions. I had not previously been involved in these adventures but enthusiastically signed up and this is our second this year. What a fabulous time we had. The main targets were the Event on Saturday night to celebrate an 18th birthday and the SST series. Both were achieved as well as some extras thrown in for good luck.
Thanks to all the COs for the effort they put in to creating the caches we found, but especially to dghoffy . What an incredible set of caches. I especially loved the names allocated to the caches - wow what great imaginations you have, and this spilled over to the creation of the caches. Well done d! It was wonderful not to have a series of mint tins or sistemas and their placement was great too. Evil at times but so much fun! I especially appreciated the fact that there was always good parking on roads that can be busy - glad it was a winter long weekend not one in summer.
All caches were eventually found, sometimes with a little bit of help - thanks to the COs and GrimRaider and were signed or stamped as Capital Crunchers. Brilliant series so thanks again and it was great to have you share the weekend with us.

Cache 5194 on 9 Jun 2019.
This was a long awaited and planned geocaching mission to the south coast with a few other Canberra cachers. Bobl27, TikvaNZ and I drove down Saturday morning and picked up a few caches on the way to the main goal which was the SST. We picked up 19 caches Saturday getting warmed up for the main day today, Sunday. And such pretty views from so many cache spots.

Jsson and myself went for a trip to find caches in the BFH and SST series. We logged as IJ. A lovely sunshine day with some clouds and a light breeze.
We found many nice and partly challenging caches during our road trip.
Thanks for placing a cache for me to enjoy and find.

Noice. Took s while for gps to settle down but it was circling us in the correct area. Just had to search a bit more thoroughly. Still dry. Thanks.
It took a while for our GPS to settle down in this location, and while it did, the mosquitos had a wonderful time attacking us. As a result this cache took quite a while to locate and when we did find it, our GPS indicated that we were 1m from the published coordinates (after earlier indicating that we were up to 12m away at the same spot). The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks dghoffy and elysium_au for the cache and the enjoyable series.
A short diversion off the main road for this one. A bit hard to spot but a quick find. TFTC dghoffy and elysium_au
Find Number 1607, found at 09:51
With the current Groundspeak promotion encouraging caching for the numbers, GeoSon NationalSteel and I decided to try for all 100 finds in a two day weekend. The only significant series that neither of us had found was the SST, so we set off down South to try our luck. With 50 caches found yesterday, we needed another 50 today to complete the mission.
A short detour up the road. There weren't any of the eucalyptus ants there today. maybe it's the wrong season for the.
The cache was in good condition. We signed the log using the signature GT/NS and replaced the container as found
Thanks dghoffy for the cache.

G&T had planned a raid on the SST series in the hope of ticking off the required 100 finds for the Hidden Creatures souvenirs. So we came down and had a very successful weekend, with 50 finds on the Saturday and at least 60 on the Sunday, and only 2 or 3 DNFs overall. We completed the SST loop, although we skipped a few here and there when we missed a turnoff or it looked like a given cache might take too long to get to, given we were on a numbers run. But I was really impressed with this series, finding it much more interesting than a boring power trail. There's obviously been genuine thought and in many cases clever workmanship going into the hides. To have so many of such quality and variety is quite an achievement and made the numbers run much more enjoyable than it could have been, were we pursuing endless "tupperware under a bush" hides. People concerned about the lack of hints just need to pay more attention to the clever naming system, in most cases. Anyway, today was another big day with over 60 finds, breaking G&T's daily record, getting very close to my record and passing my 4000th find milestone. We started the day by heading back from Bega to the spur of BFH caches, getting a few more in the area and then resuming our clockwise loop of the SST.
A nice quick find here as we continued working our way through this series. TFTC!

This series is very challenging, each cache is different and ain’t a simple drive-by. These were placed by die-hard cachers so be warned. Difficulty rating should be higher on most. Day 2. Small cache at base of tree. Had to look hard. Tftc
Found it with Crank1 on our way to home from OZ Geo Muster Event. Planning to stay at Bega for a night. Thanks for bringing us here and the cache.
Found on my around the SST. A great series to do. Enjoyed the different kind of hides. Had no idea who this Ike was!!

Overnight trip around the SST with Seemyshell and Brewmaker. I was really impressed with the wide range of unique styles and sizes. Another huge selling point on these were the interesting names for the caches (instead of numbered), which makes it easier to remember each location and find. Thanks to all the Cache Owners of the Sapphire Coast (namely dghoffy and elysium_au) for injecting the greater area with good quality caches. Thanks For The Cache!
Easy find here, thanks!

On a two day road trip with Seemyshell and Muppet95 searching for caches around the Sapphire Coast. So many various hides along the way. Thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining these caches in such a beautiful area to visit. TFTC
We have been visiting The Saphire Coast since our childhood and have always loved family holidays. Now there's just the 2 of us and we still love coming here. There's no better way to explore than on our very own geo-tour. We are interested to see if we discover any unknown (to us!) treasures on our journey today. We have already seen one whale from the shore, fantastic!
A quick stop and grab. Almost a drive by.

Sneaky camo matches the hide. Thanks for the tour. This is one of the best drives on the coast. Kutgw
Spent Australia Day, after a BBQ breakfast, caching around Kalaru and later on in the day, Bega. Some great hides and certainly got to see some wonderful places. Many thanks to all the COs.
Its Australia Day, and what better way to spend the day while on holidays is to go caching. Visiting from Brisbane to the beautiful area around the Bega area. Due to the number of caches found have decided to do a generic message, however to each CO , thank you for placing the caches. TFTC.
F(H)ound It! #1659 - @5:00:00 PM
My mother's cousin lives just around the corner. But I am enjoying my short rest from socialising and so I didn't stop by. I saw some ants but I didn't stop to sniff them . Thanks for the cache, dghoffy.

Cool hide!
First visit to Australia, visiting our oldest daughter who lives in St Ives, Sydney. What a wonderful country! We are having the most beautiful weather. Reminds us of South Africa, our homeland.
Such a beautiful area. What a "surprise tour"!
Thanks for the adventure and the totally creative epically setup well organised.
Due to poor mobile reception we had to log most caches afterwards which involves some administration.
A picture is worth a thousand words - confucius

Lots and lots of bugs at this cache, they seemed to be flying all around me and I could just feel them in my presence it wasn't very nice.
So a quick find was appreciated and I ran off back to the car hoping nothing followed me.
Thanks dghoffy, the titled confused me at first but a closer look at the map and it made more sense

I was on my way back from picking up my car in Bega after having a fault light checked out. The rain was intermittent, so when it wasn't raining I stopped.
This was the first cache I stopped at and I didn't even need the GPS as the hide stood out.
Thanks dghoffy
